The purpose of this study is to identify adult learners' decision making variables, satisfaction, and evaluation toward fashion education as a university lifelong education program. As decision making variables, this study included participation purpose, information source, and selection criteria for lifelong education center and program. Regarding satisfaction toward fashion education, this study included satisfaction toward program and satisfaction toward education condition and administrative services. Data were gathered by both questionnaires and focus group interview(FGI) with 12 adults who completed the program. While questionnaires were used for decision making variables and satisfaction, FGI was used for evaluation. Frequency was used to analyze the questionnaires and content analysis was used to analyze the results of FGI. The findings showed that respondents participated mostly because of hobby or interest and got information mostly from acquaintances. They regarded program contents as the selection criteria for lifelong education center. They also regarded lecturers' professionality as the selection criteria for the program and showed high satisfaction toward lecturers' passion. Regarding education condition and administrative services, they showed high satisfaction. FGI also showed the importance of individual competence, career development, a work-study program, a on-site study program, and lecturer. The results suggest methods to make university lifelong education programs more appealing to adults who want to attend universities for non-degree university programs.
Objectives: This study aims to propose a standard protocol for oral health care intervention activities by dental hygienists. Methods: A narrative literature review of home visit oral health care intervention activities reported in Cheonan, South Korea was conducted to enable the proposal of a standard home visit protocol for dental hygienists in the context of community care. Results: Oral health management intervention activities contributed to improving the quality of life, as well as the oral health, of older adults living at home. This was a result of applying a protocol consisting of oral observation, oral massage, expert oral hygiene management, oral muscle function training, and final stages. Conclusions: The visiting oral health intervention protocol was effective in resolving oral health problems of older adults. In the future, customized programs and reimbursement systems should be developed to promote oral health care for older adults that can be provided at home.
Purpose This study aims to investigate the relationship between digital literacy and the acceptance of care robots, as well as the mediating role of technology self-efficacy in this relationship. The findings of this research aim to provide foundational data for enhancing older adults' acceptance of new technologies, underscore the significance of bolstering older adults' digital literacy in relation to the adoption of care robot technology, and offer evidence to support interventions aimed at improving technology self-efficacy. Design/methodology/approach This study seeks to investigate the mediating effect of technology self-efficacy on the relationship between digital literacy and acceptance of care robot technology among older adults. Kyunghee University's '2022 Korean Senior Technology Acceptance Panel Survey' was used, targeting 509 people aged 60 or older. Data analysis was performed using SPSS 20.0 software. Independent samples t-tests were used to characterize key variables of interest and correlation analysis was used to evaluate their relationships. To verify the mediation effect, mediation regression analysis along with the Sobel test was used. Findings The study found that improving older adults' digital literacy positively impacts their acceptance of care robot technology through enhanced technology self-efficacy. Active education and experience with digital devices are highlighted as crucial for enhancing older adults' sense of accomplishment and, consequently, their technology self-efficacy. The findings underscore the importance of programs and educational initiatives focused on enhancing digital literacy among older adults to boost technology self-efficacy and increase acceptance of care robot technology within this population.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze factors influencing health-related quality of life (HRQoL) among male adults. Methods: Participants were 196 male adults who were recruited from June to July 2016. Seven variables related to HRQoL including age, perceived stress, physical activities, problem drinking, social support, self-esteem, depression were measured. Data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 20.0 program and Amos 18.0 for descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficients and path analysis. Results: The mean for HRQoL was 80.14. The path analysis showed that depression had the greatest direct effect on HRQoL. It was found that perceived stress had direct and total effects on HRQoL. It also mediated the paths of social support and self-esteem to HRQoL. These factors account for 68% of the total variance, and the fit indices of the model satisfied the criteria of fitness. Conclusion: The results indicate that these factors influencing HRQoL should be considered when developing programs to improve HRQoL for male adults.
Purpose: This study was done to identify the impact of physical activity on healthcare utilization among Korean adults. Methods: Drawing from the 2008 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES IV-2), data from 6,521 adults who completed the Health Interview and Health Behavior Surveys were analyzed. Association between physical activity and healthcare utilization was tested using the $X^2$-test. Multiple logistic regression analysis was used to calculate the odds ratios of using outpatient and inpatient healthcare for different levels of physical activity after adjusting for predisposing, enabling, and need factors. A generalized linear model applying a negative binomial distribution was used to determine how the level of physical activity was related to use of outpatient and inpatient healthcare. Results: Physically active participants were 16% less likely to use outpatient healthcare (OR, 0.84; 95% CI, 0.74-0.97) and 23% less likely to use inpatient healthcare (OR, 0.77; 95% CI, 0.63-0.93) than physically inactive participants. Levels of outpatient and inpatient healthcare use decreased as levels of physical activity increased, after adjusting for relevant factors. Conclusion: An independent association between being physically active and lower healthcare utilization was ascertained among Korean adults indicating a need to develop nursing intervention programs that encourage regular physical activity.

The purpose of this study is to investigate factors that explain the degree of need for community welfare services designed for the residents of Wonju City. For this purpose, we identify five categories of community welfare services : employment no income supporting programs, residence supporting programs, public health programs, family programs and welfare facilities for enhancing quality of life. The data come from 234 adults living in Wonju city, Major findings can be summarized as follows. Firstly, we find that participants are well aware of needs for community welfare service, and that the degree of need for public health services is the highest among the five types of welfare programs. Secondly, we find differential effects of the individual factors such as predisposing, enabling, and need, and the community factors such as quality of environmental facilities which make daily lives convenient, and residential region. Particularly, environmental facilities appear to have a strong association with high needs for the majority of welfare services. Finally, differences between urban and rural areas are still observed. These results suggest that the responsibility of Wonju city for providing diverse and adequate welfare services should be emphasized. Priorities for welfare policies based on the empirical data are also taken into consideration in the process of developing community welfare policies.

Based on the results, diversified agricultural entrepreneurship education programs and support measures were suggested.
Purpose: This study investigated the mediating effects of acceptance action on the relationship between diabetes distress and self-stigma in older adults with diabetes. Methods: A descriptive research approach was adopted using 187 patients diagnosed with diabetes mellitus by an endocrinology doctor. The data were collected from 26 to 31 March, 2020 and were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient analysis, and hierarchical multiple regression. Results: The mean scores for diabetes distress, self-stigma, and acceptance action were 2.98±0.64, 2.54±0.74, and 4.16±0.35, respectively. Acceptance action partially mediated the relationship between diabetes distress and self-stigma (z=1.98, p=.024), with an explanatory power of 51.0%. Conclusion: To reduce diabetes self-stigma among old adults in diabetes distress situations, it is necessary to improve their acceptance action and develop step-by-step differentiated acceptance action enhancement programs through multidisciplinary collaborations.
Purpose: This study was designed to describe the experiences of dementia prevention program for older adults in nursing homes. Methods: Four focus group interviews (FGI) after the program were conducted with 35 participants. All interviews were audio-taped and transcribed verbatim. The transcribed data were analyzed by Colaizzi's phenomenological method. Results: Four themes emerged as a result of analysis. Participants without dementia reported "I don't have dementia yet." This statement probably reflects ignoring potential dementia. Motivation for participating the dementia prevention program were to reduce boredom, to enjoy exercising and communicating with others, and to follow group activities. Participants reported the positive effects of the program; (a) benefits from the repeating learned activities; (b) improvements of memory and emotional stability. A few participants reported their inability to follow the program due to physical and environmental limits. However, other participants reported their efforts to overcome physical limits and perform the activities regardless their limits. People who performed the activities with physical limits reported that their self-satisfaction was increased. Conclusion: Results of this study showed that participants without dementia were able to actively participate in dementia prevention programs and showed memory, emotional and behavioral improvements. Therefore, these findings can be used for developing customized dementia prevention programs in nursing homes.
