소프트스킬 프로그램 학습성과의 교과기반 평가(CEA)를 위한 학습모듈(안)에 관한 연구 (A Study on Learning Modules for Course Embedded Assessment of Soft Skills Program Outcomes)

  • This paper proposes learning modules as a kind of integrated instruction model for soft skills program outcomes to enable CEA. Learning modules consist of course learning objectives(outcomes) described in detail, learning content(elements), learning activities(teaching learning methods), evaluation methods, evaluation rubrics so that they can be evaluated based on the performance criteria of the program learning outcomes. The unit of time for the learning module is 50 minutes. If this learning module is applied, it is expected that the soft skill program outcomes can be evaluated in the technical course. As a result of the expert feasibility study, the positive answers were much higher than the negative answers in most of the questions about the composition of the learning module or the method of managing the class.

  • As society has changed to being more knowledge-based, it is necessary that change of paradigm is incorporated into engineering education and the education goals and the assessment method of educational outcomes is developed to promptly meet the needs of the times. A purpose of this study is to measure learning outcomes in coursework of engineering college every semester, which ultimately provides to validate program outcomes. We looked into teaching-learning style of course in the engineering college and analyzed its grade method and tool. By use of a survey, we derived a reasonable method to measure for the learning outcomes in course and presented tools for course-embedded assessment to measure that learning outcomes had been tied to their objectives. These tools are effective to determine that program outcomes and education goals have been achieved, ultimately. In addition, it will help that instruction builds a loop system for better.

학습성과 수행평가를 위한 루브릭 개발과 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development and Application of Rubrics for Performance Assessment in Terms of Promoting Program Learning Outcomes)

  • The purpose of this study was to provide analytic rubrics for measuring teamwork(PO6), communication and presentation skills(PO7), and life-long learning(PO8) based on theoretical concepts of performance assessment and rubrics. Also, this study analyzed data about performance assessment and rubics from courses offered through college of engineering. Participants were 34 senior engineering students who took the course 'Technical writing and presentation'. In the second week of the course, students were given the pre-test instrument which was developed for measuring students' understanding of program outcomes for this study. After performing project activities using rubrics, students were encouraged to complete the post-test instrument and the reaction questionnaire during the ninth week. The data were analyzed by using SPSS 14.0 and Microsoft Excel. The research findings are as follows. First, to promote and evaluate program learning outcomes appropriately, performance assessment-based on rubircs should be implemented. Second, in the reaction questionnaire about the rubircs, students answered that using rubircs for performing the project was very useful for understanding the performance procedures and assessment criteria. Third, the mean of understanding of program outcomes of students in post-test was significantly increased than in the pre-test(p<.0001). From the findings, performance assessment and rubrics should be used as evaluation tools at course levels in terms of promoting program learning outcomes for engineering education.

전자공학 전공에서의 교과기반평가 시스템 개발 (Development of Course-Embedded Assessment in Electronic Engineering Education Program)

  • A case of course-embedded assesment in electronic engineering was studied. In particular, a realistic evaluation system was developed in consideration of characteristics of the major field and university realities. 10 program outcomes were mapped with all courses in the program. 5 probe courses were selected and their course learning objectives were defined. Measurements of the course learning objective were made by term project and written course test. With using course-embedded assesment, the measurement system of the program outcomes should be changed.

수술 후 재활 사례 기반의 시뮬레이션 교과 운영이 학습성과에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Simulation based Training using a Post-operating Rehabilitation Case on Learning Outcomes)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of simulation based training using a post-operating rehabilitation case on learning outcomes in nursing students. Methods: A quasi-experimental research design (one group pretest and posttest design) and a questionnaire for measuring learning outcomes were used in this study. The participants were 35 students in a college of nursing. Data were collected before the program and immediately after the program that applied simulation based training using a post-operating rehabilitation case consisted of 4th running and debriefing for 26 hours. With SAS 9.2 program, descriptive statistics and paired t-test were used to analyze the data. Results: There were statistically significant increases in necessity (p=.001) and performance of learning outcome (p<.001) of simulation based training using a post-operating rehabilitation case among students in a college of nursing. Conclusion: The findings of this study demonstrate that simulation based training using a post-operating rehabilitation case for nursing students may increase performance of learning outcomes on clinical reasoning and critical thinking.

산업체 연계 프로젝트 기반 학습(PBL)을 활용한 성형해석 실습 교과목 운영 사례 연구 (Case Study on Education of Metal Forming Simulation Practice Subject through Industry-linked Project Based Learning)

  • The purpose of this study is to conduct Project Based Learning (PBL) in collaboration with industry experts to operate practical subjects in an industry-university-linked teaching method. PBL is a teaching method in which students can learn through actively engaging in real-world and personally meaningful projects. For a long period of time, PBL methodologies have been found to be especially effective in engineering education. This case study deals with the operational results of a practice subject which has been conducted over three years from 2017 to 2019 in Korea University of Technology and Education. The course is for the 4th grade students in the school of mechatronics engineering. The results of the surveyed learning outcomes (for example, Program Outcomes and Course Learning Outcomes) have been analyzed and reflected in the next years for the Continuous Quality Improvement. By working on practical projects linked to industry, students have been able to develop so-called 4C's capabilities which are Critical Thinking, Creativity, Communication and Collaboration.

학점은행제 간호학과 재학 간호사의 자기 결정성, 학습몰입이 학습성과에 미치는 영향 (Effects of self-determination and learning commitment on the learning outcome of nurses currently under academic credit bank system)

  • 본 연구는 학점은행제 간호학과에 재학 중인 간호사를 대상으로 자기 결정성, 학습몰입, 학습성과의 정도와 상관관계를 파악하고 학습성과에 영향을 미치는 요인을 알아보기 위해 실시하였다. 자료수집은 B 시 소재 1개 학점은행제 간호학과에 재학 중인 간호사 144명을 대상으로 구조화된 설문지를 이용하였다. 자료수집 기간은 2018년 4월 1일부터 11월 20일까지였다. 자료는 SPSS/WIN 24.0을 이용하여 T-test, ANOVA, 상관관계 분석, 다중회귀 분석을 이용하였다. 대상자의 자기 결정성은 학습몰입, 학습성과와 정적상관관계가 있었고, 학습몰입과 학습성과도 정적상관관계가 있었다. 학습성과에 영향을 미치는 요인은 자기 결정성, 학습몰입이었고 총 설명력은 32.1%였다. 따라서 학점은행제 재학 간호사의 학습 성과를 증진하기 위하여 일반적 특성에 상관없이 자기 결정성, 학습몰입을 향상할 필요가 있다. 그러므로 간호사가 근무하는 기관에서도 간호사의 자기 결정성과 학습몰입을 증진할 방안이 필요하다. 본 연구결과가 학점은행제 재학생의 학습 성과를 향상하는데 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

Association Rule Mining and Collaborative Filtering-Based Recommendation for Improving University Graduate Attributes

  • Outcome-based education (OBE) is a tried-and-true teaching technique based on a set of predetermined goals. Program Educational Objectives (PEOs), Program Outcomes (POs), and Course Outcomes (COs) are the components of OBE. At the end of each year, the Program Outcomes are evaluated, and faculty members can submit many recommended measures which dependent on the relationship between the program outcomes and its courses outcomes to improve the quality of program and hence the overall educational program. When a vast number of courses are considered, bad actions may be proposed, resulting in unwanted and incorrect decisions. In this paper, a recommender system, using collaborative filtering and association rules algorithms, is proposed for predicting the best relationship between the program outcomes and its courses in order to improve the attributes of the graduates. First, a parallel algorithm is used for Collaborative Filtering on Data Model, which is designed to increase the efficiency of processing big data. Then, a parallel similar learning outcomes discovery method based on matrix correlation is proposed by mining association rules. As a case study, the proposed recommender system is applied to the Computer Information Systems program, College of Computer Sciences and Information Technology, Al-Baha University, Saudi Arabia for helping Program Quality Administration improving the quality of program outcomes. The obtained results revealed that the suggested recommender system provides more actions for boosting Graduate Attributes quality.

프로그램 학습성과 향상을 위한 형성평가 중심 캡스톤 디자인 교과목 설계 (A Formative Assessment Based Capstone Design Course for Improving Program Learning Outcomes)

  • 공학인증에서 사용되는 프로그램 학습성과는 학생들에게 제공되는 교육의 품질을 파악하고 이를 통하여 교육의 개선을 할 수 있는 수단으로 사용되고 있다. 따라서 학습성과를 향상시킬수 있는 방법이 모색되고 있으며 캡스톤 디자인 교과목은 그 특성상 가장 효율적인 향상 방법으로 고려되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 캡스톤 디자인 교과목의 교과목 내용을 개선하여 프로그램의 학습성과를 향상시키기 위한 것으로 이를 위하여 형성평가를 도입하였다. 형성평가를 효율적으로 도입하기 위하여 형성평가의 핵심 요소인 피드백 과정의 구조를 정의하였는데 최적의 효과를 내기 위하여 교사 주도형과 학생 교정형을 혼합한 형식을 사용하였다. 또한 형성평가가 이루어지는 시점인 세부 단원을 정의하기 위하여 소프트웨어 공학을 도입하였으며 여섯 단계의 세부 단계를 통하여 캡스톤 디자인 과목에서의 형성평가가 구현되었다. 각 세부단계에서의 평가 항목과 평가 기준들은 교과목 진행중에 학생들에게 공개되며 본 연구에서 제안한 피드백 과정을 통하여 학생들이 평가기준에 맞는 결과를 내기위하여 학습을 하도록 교과목을 구성, 운영하였다. 실제 2학기동안 실험을 실시해본 결과 형성평가를 도입하지 않았을 때보다 주목할 만한 향상을 보이고 있음을 발견할 수 있었다.

캡스톤디자인 교과목의 학습성과 평가체계 개발 (Development of the Evaluation System for Learning Outcomes of Capstone Design Course)

  • 본 논문은 공학교육과정에서 사용되는 캡스톤디자인 교과목에 대한 평가체계의 개발 사례를 소개한다. 캡스톤디자인은 대학 과정에서 배운 전문지식을 종합적으로 활용하여, 산업현장의 문제를 분석하고 해결책을 설계하는 교과목이다. 본 논문에서는 캡스톤디자인 교과목과 관련된 기존의 평가 요소, 평가 방법 및 절차를 설명한다. 이를 기반으로 개발된 캡스톤디자인 평가체계를 소개한다. 본 논문에서 제시한 캡스톤디자인 교과목의 학습성과 평가체계는 타대학의 캡스톤디자인 교과목 운영 시 일부 참고될 수 있으며, 산학이 연계된 교육 및 인턴 프로그램 개발 시 평가체계 설계를 위해서도 사용될 수 있다.
