Engineering structures usually suffer from cracks. The crack geometry has an influence on the structural mechanical properties and subsequent crack propagations. However, as an extensively utilized method in fracture analysis, the extended finite element method provided by Abaqus fails to output the specific location and dimensions of fractures. In this study, a technique to capture the crack geometry is proposed. The technique is based on the invariant level set method (I-LSM), which can avoid updating the level set function during crack development. The solution is achieved by an open-source plug-in programmed by Python. Three examples were performed to verify the effectiveness and robustness of the program. The result shows that the developed program can accurately output the crack geometry in both the 2D and 3D models. The open-source plug-in codes are included as supplementary material.
Local education autonomy aims to improve the quality of life of local residents and to realize education considering local characteristics. For this purpose, it is necessary to strengthen the competency of local education administrative officials. This study intends to derive the competency of level 6 public officials who should play a central role in local education administrative officials, and to devise the subjects cluster and subjects of the long-term education program. The purpose of this study is to prepare a basic plan so that the education program for level 6 educational administrative officials can be developed in the future. For this study, an expert panel was composed of 20 people including education administrative officials and education program development experts. In addition, the Delphi survey was conducted three times to obtain opinions on the competency of level 6 educational administrative officials and the subjects cluster and subjects of the long-term education program. For the competency of level 6 educational administrative officials, the validity of the survey data was evaluated in the Delphi 1st survey and the validity of the revised data in the 2nd Delphi survey was conducted. And for the subjects cluster and subjects of the long-term education program for level 6 educational administrative officials, the validity of basic data was evaluated in the Delphi 2nd survey and the validity of the revised data in the 3rd Delphi survey was conducted. As a result, the competencies of level 6 educational administrative officials were extracted into nine competencies including coordination and integration competencies. And the long-term education program for level 6 educational administrative officials was developed with 13 subjects cluster and 43 subjects. And the relationship model between the competency of level 6 educational administrative officials and the subjects cluster and subjects of the long-term education program was derived. Based on the results of this study, it was proposed to operate a flexible curriculum for a long-term education program. In addition, the necessity of establishing a system that can reflect the educational training results in the actual educational field was suggested.

This study was performed to investigate the level of importance and performance of patient education perceived by patients and nurses. The subjects consisted of 108 patients and 106 nurses in one university-affiliated hospital in Daegu, from February 1 to February 5, 2002. Data were collected through self-report questionnaires which were constructed to include the level of importance and performance of patient education. The data were analyzed by an SPSS program. 1) The level of importance of patient education perceived by patients and nurses was high, but the level of performance of patient education was relatively low. The level of importance and performance of patient education perceived by patients and nurses ranked as the highest in the area of diagnosis and treatment. 2) The level of importance and performance of patient education perceived by patients was not different according to general characteristics. The level of importance and performance of patient education perceived by nurses was different according to age and the working unit and the level of performance of patient education was different according to clinical career and job position. These results suggest that the level of importance of patient education perceived by patients and nurses was different to the level of performance of patient education perceived by them. Therefore nurses should actively provide patients with the educational program based on the importance of patient education perceived by patients.
The main goal of the study is to propose an objective and standardized evaluation system of stock enhancement programs. In order to achieve this goal, the study first suggested the need for stock enhancement program evaluation system through the review of current status and problems. Second, the study identified possible problems of the existing stock enhancement program evaluation by reviewing domestic and foreign evaluation systems. Finally the study proposed a new evaluation system and implementation plan of it. This study also classified the program evaluation criteria into ex-ante evaluation and ex-post evaluation according to the evaluation point in time, and applied the economic, political and technical feasibility tests into the evaluation of the stock enhancement program in order to solve the current problems of the evaluation. The evaluation process of the stock enhancement program is composed of an evaluation system design, estimation of weights using the analytical hierarchy process, design of estimation standard, conversion of scores and final summary of the evaluation. The central government takes the lead in the evaluation of the regional (metropolitan city or province) projects and the regional government is in charge of the evaluation of the local (city or county) projects. For the implementation of the ex-ante evaluation, either the regional or local governments ask for the evaluation and then submit an evaluation plan and other necessary documents to the upper level governments. The ex-post evaluation is then carried out by the upper level governments.
PURPOSES : Recently, the mechanistic-empirical overlay pavement design program that is linked with Korea Pavement Research Program (KPRP) has been developed. This paper focused on establishing the framework and developing the program for the asphalt overlay design over the existing asphalt concrete pavement. METHODS : The overlay pavement design program developed in this study was investigated to assess the sensitivity to various pavement conditions, such as the damage level and thickness of existing layers. In addition, the actual overlay design on currently performing pavement was carried out as a practical example. RESULTS : From the sensitivity analysis, it was found that the thickness and damage level of existing asphalt layer mostly affect the overlay design results. In addition, under the same condition, the overlay pavement would better perform in cold region. From the overlay design with the actual condition, it is noted that the overlay thickness varies depending on the given condition. CONCLUSIONS : Based on various evaluations, it was concluded that the overlay design program developed in this study is a reliable and reasonable tool to be used in the actual pavement design.
The purpose of this study is to develope sex education program for high school girls and to verify the effectiveness of the program in terms of improving the knowledge and attitude of them after executing the program. The subjects of study are 126 girls from K high school in Changwon city and they are divided into an experimental group and control group, and each group has 63 students. The program is executed 8 sessions during 8 weeks and the necessary time is 50 minutes for each session. The experimental group who has received sex education shows higher level of sex knowledge after sex education than control group, and the experimental group shows higher level of sound attitude toward sexual matters after sex education. The effect of education regarding sexual knowledge and attitude in an experimental group are lasted even after the education is finished. Conclusionally, these results shows that the sex education program which is developed for this study is effective.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of an integrated management program on climacteric symptoms and depression in middle-aged women. Methods: A nonequivalent control-group design was used. The subjects consisted of 65 middle-aged women with climacteric symptoms. The experimental group (n=33) participated in the program for six 60-min sessions. To measure the climacteric symptoms and depression level of the subjects, two self-reporting questionnaires were used. Data were analyzed using SPSS Statistics 17.0 program. Results: The women in the experimental group reported the average score of 13.80 in climacteric symptoms, 14.38 in depression. The hypothesis that the climacteric symptoms of experimental group would be reduced more than that of the control group was supported (t=3.92, p<.001): physical symptoms (t=4.04, p<.001); psychological symptoms (t=1.80, p=.077); sexual symptoms (t=2.85, p=.006). The second hypothesis that the degree of depression of the experimental group who used the integrated climacteric symptoms management program would be reduced more than that of the control group was also supported (t=2.30, p=.02). Conclusion: The integrated management program for middle-aged women with climacteric symptoms was effective in reducing their climacteric symptoms and depression level.
The purpose of this study was to find out the effects of a career education program during a discretional activity class in elementary school. It established the following questions to achieve the objectives. First, does a career education program In a discretional activity class have an effect on elementary schooler's career maturity? Second, does a career education program in a discretional activity class make an influence on elementary schooler's self-concept? To settle these subjects, it assigned two classes in 5th grade of A elementary school, city of Anyang, Gyeonggi-do, experiment group and control group. It was applied the experiment group a career education program. As for measurement, it was used career maturity level test for elementary and middle schoolers' and 'the self-concept diagnostic test'. It was examined career maturity and self-concept of the groups through the pre-test post-test, applying cross-tabulation analysis to career choices pattern and t-test to career maturity level and self-concept. The results were as follows: First, students of experiment group showed meaningful differences in career choice pattern, career choice attitude, and career choosing skills compared to control group, and that presented a career education program made a positive impact on elementary schooler's career maturity. Second, it showed that there was a significant difference in self-concept, showing students of experiment group took better place. it is believed that a career education program had a potent influence on the self-concept of elementary students.
This study was carried out to find out the basic data required to plan and develop Rehabilitation Day Care Program for the stroke survivor's family in Korea. The subjects comprised of 92 stroke survivor's family who discharged from 4 hospitals in Seoul during the past 2 years. The data were collected from August 3, 1998 to September 18, 1998, through interviews with questionnaires about general characteristics, activities of daily living, depression and service need of rehabilitation day care program at the outpatient clinics by trained nursing graduates. Data were analyzed with descriptive analysis, Pearson's correlation analysis, and Stepwise multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS/WIN 10.0 program. The results obtained are as follows; 1. The mean score of the general need of rehabilitation day care program of stroke survivor's family was 3.10(range 1-4). The highest need among the service categories of the rehabilitation day card program was self-care and restorative activities category(3.30), and health services referral category, recreation category, psychosocial activities category in order. The needs of each category are as follows. In the health services referral category, the need for dental examination and medical examination were highest, followed by the need for physical therapy and occupational therapy. In the psychosocial activities category, the need for family counselling was highest. In the self-care and restorative activities category, the need for ROM exercise training was highest, followed by bowel training, and ambulation training. 2. The need of family for rehabilitation day care program service displayed a correlation with the level of education, ADL, and the level of depression, and a reverse correlation with age, illness intrusiveness, depression, knowledge, subject and object burden and relationship with stroke survivors. 3. The stepwise multiple linear regression analysis revealed following results. For the need for rehabilitation day care program service, 22.6% of the variance was initially explained by level of family's knowledge about caring method for stroke survivors, 8.8% was the level of subjective burden and 5.4% was relationship with stroke survivors. In conclusion, above characteristics should be considered to develop stroke survivors' rehabilitation day care program.
In order to foster creative convergence talents in the era of the 4th industrial revolution, universities are changing from knowledge-oriented education to competency-oriented education, and the maker education program is attracting attention as a new educational method. Through maker program education, we tried to find out the level of convergence, creativity, caring, and communication competencies. A survey was conducted from May 2nd to May 13th, 2022 for 2nd and 3rd grade students in the Department of Radiology and Sports and Leisure who participated in the Maker Education Program at S University in Daegu City. Research results Convergence competency is 3.35 ± 0.78 points before maker program education, 4.37 ± 0.61 points after education, creative competency is 3.28 ± 0.78 points before maker program education, 4.07 ± 0.69 points after education, and caring competency is 3.71 ± 0.80 points before maker program education Points, 4.25 ± 0.64 points after training, and communication competency were 3.61 ± 0.70 points before maker program training and 4.16 ± 0.63 points after training. There was a statistically significant level difference in all four competencies compared with before training, and the level after training was improved (p<0.05). Through the operation of the maker education program, it was possible to see the effect of cultivating convergence, creativity, caring, and communication competencies. The maker education program can be seen as education for nurturing creative convergence talents in the era of the 4th industrial revolution, and I think that various maker education programs should be operated for more university students.
