An Empirical Study on Evaluation Factors of Cabin Service Quality of Airlines (항공사 객실서비스의 품질 평가요인에 관한 실증 연구 - MIAT 몽골항공사를 중심으로 -)

  • Airline business operates in the 21st century within fast changing market environment and fierce competition. Management of airline companies has faced the need for vast adaptation to new trends in the growth of world economy that are cardinal changes in marketing environment due to quick development of Internet and IT, transport price competition and, as a consequence, low profit margin, diversified customer wants and needs, lack of investment needed for new aircraft equipped with the latest high tech innovations, unpredictable oil price changes, and exchange rate fluctuations. This study is aimed to evaluate the quality performance of cabin service, to analyse, further, the issues that appeared to be the most significant among customers' answers to questionnaire, to explore the relationships between these issues and customer satisfaction, to highlight the essential questions to address, and to provide some practical suggestions. The five dimensions (such as tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy) were adopted to examine the relationship between the service quality and customer satisfaction of Mongolian and non-Mongolian passengers travelling by the MIAT. According to findings of analysis made with use of the SERVPERF model, it can be concluded that Mongolian travellers' satisfaction was effected by 'Tangible' and 'Responsiveness' dimensions of service quality, whereas the 'Empathy' dimension has more impact on the satisfaction of non-Mongolian.

Optimum Design on the Mixed Ratio of Injection Gas with CO2/N2 in Enhanced Coalbed Methane Recovery (석탄층 메탄가스 회수증진공법에서 CO2/N2 주입가스의 혼합 비율 최적 설계)

  • Enhanced coalbed methane recovery (ECBM), as injecting $CO_2$ or $N_2$ into the coalbed methane (CBM) reservoir for increasing methane recovery, takes center stage in these days. ECBM makes a better recovery than the conventional production method, it called dewatering process. However the characteristics of injection gas affect to methane recovery, thus analysis on the mixed ratio of injection gas should be required. In this study, CBM reservoir model was built to estimate the methane recovery of ECBM method by different mixed ratio of injection gas. Additionally, to consider the characteristics of injection gas such as carbon captured storage, nitrogen re-injection, etc. economic analysis was performed. The results showed that ECBM cases produced methane almost twice as much as dewatering case and $CO_2$ 10% and $N_2$ 90% case resulted in the highest methane recovery among the mixed gas cases. On the other hand, the results of economic analysis showed that $CO_2$ 20% and $N_2$ 80% case made the highest total production profit. Therefore, both the recovery of methane and economical efficiency should be considered to apply ECBM process.

Analysis of Value for Ownership Conversion in the Public Rental Housing REITs According to Real Option Scenarios Reflecting Macroeconomic Variables (거시경제변수를 반영한 실물옵션 시나리오별 공공임대주택리츠 분양전환 가치 분석)

  • The recently introduced public rental housing REITs was just different the business structure from the existing public rental housing system and the basic supply system is the same. So the ownership conversion for public house over 10 years rental duration is possible after half of the obligated rental duration according to the agreement between lessor and lessee. However rental business operators are likely to have a negative attitude to the early ownership conversion because of less expected profit. Thus, there is a need for an analysis of proper early ownership conversion moment that can achieve public purposes while ensuring the profitability of public rental housing REITs. In this study, the characteristics of the ownership conversion rights that can lessee to exercise considered to be options. Also the nature of 'REITs', 'public rental housing REITs' is considered to be affected by the macroeconomic variables. Thus, this study analyzed the value for ownership conversion in the public rental housing REITs according to real option scenarios reflecting macroeconomic variables. As a result, according to the change of the variation rate of the macroeconomic variables, it was found that with adjustable early ownership conversion time using the DCF(Discounted Cash Flow) model. Therefore, it is possible to ensure profitability of early ownership conversion by predicting the variation of variables.

A Case Study on Social Enterprises as Social Venture in Korea (소셜 벤처로서 사회적 기업에 대한 사례연구)

  • As Korea experienced a Asian foreign exchange crisis in 1997 and a world financial crisis in 2008, the social structure of Korea has undergone many changes. The problem of polarization has become more serious, and the social class has become harder to move between strata. This problem has been accompanied by a growing sense of crisis that the power of social development can be lost along with the problem of population cliffs. Behind the crisis is a reflection of the fact that the growth-oriented economic policies and welfare policies implemented in various European countries can not solve the problem. As an alternative to this, the emergence of social enterprises is attracting attention. Social enterprises have the characteristic of seeking to generate economic profit in order to achieve the purpose of the public interest to provide jobs to the underprivileged. In recent years, the importance of social ventures to expand the scope of new social enterprises in innovative ways has increased. The social venture is a venture business in that it takes risks to develop new areas, not existing business areas, but it also has the character of a social enterprise to achieve the public interest. In other words, an innovative corporate model that provides a creative and challenging solution of social problems in the venture spirit. Although the interest and importance of social enterprises and social ventures are increasing, this academic research is still lacking. The purpose of this study is to introduce and analyze cases of successful social enterprises and social ventures in order to reflect these social interests and their importance and to fill the gap of previous studies. In addition, I hope that this study will stimulate interest and research on the start - up of social venture.

A Study on the Optimal Service Level of Exclusive Container Terminals (컨테이너 전용부두의 최적 서비스 수준에 관한 연구)

  • This study analyzes the optimal service levels of exclusive container terminals in terms of the optimal berth occupancy rate and the ships' waiting ratios, based on the number of berths. We develop a simulation model using berth throughput data from pier P, Busan New Port, a representative port in Korea, and apply the simulation results to different numbers of berths. In addition to the above results, we analyze the financial data and costs of delayed ships and delayed cargoes for the past three years from the viewpoints of the terminal operation company (TOC), shipping companies, and shippers to identify the optimal service level for berth occupancy rates that generate the highest net profit. The results show that the optimal levels in the container terminal are a 63.4% berth occupancy rate and 10.6% ship waiting ratio in berth 4,66.0% and 9.6% in berth 5, and 69.0% and 8.5% in berth 6. However, the results of the 2013 study by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries showed significantly different optimal service levels: a 57.1% berth occupancy rate and 7.4% ship waiting ratio in berth 4; 63.4% and 6.6% in berth 5; and 66.6% and 5.6% in berth 6. This suggests that optimal service level could change depending on when the analysis is performed. In other words, factors affecting the optimal service levels include exchange rates, revenue, cost per TEU, inventory cost per TEU, and the oil price. Thus, optimal service levels can never be fixed. Therefore, the optimal service levels for container terminals need to be able to change relatively quickly, depending on factors such as fluctuations in the economy, the oil price, and exchange rates.

  • In context of e-commerce, negotiation is a procedure to help negotiate between buyer and seller by adjusting their negotiation issues such as price and in terms of payment. We used intelligent agent and mobile device to promote new framework of e-commerce. Moreover, this framework can help buyers and sellers to carry their commercial transactions effectively. In regard to that issue, we need to carry out the research of negotiation agent that can be used in e-commerce fields. In this paper, we modeled the negotiation using CSP for the performance of agent in m-commerce environment. Furthermore we implemented interface for mobile device to extract buyer's requirement and preference easily Besides that we used utility function to make a decision for various evaluation functions and suggestions that are used for evaluation of negotiation issues. A difficulty of generating offer is dependent on the number of negotiation issues and the range of the values. Therefore, if any offer has a number of negotiation issues and the range of values are wide, the search space will be exponentially expanded. There have been many studies fur solving this problem, we applied those techniques to improve the agent's ability of negotiation. For example, a contract can be accomplished by exchanging seller and buyer's offer that is generated by agent to adjust the requisite profit for each party. Finally, we show the improvement of satisfaction as the negotiation is processed.

Probability-based Cost Analysis for Recycling Secondary Products from Construction Waste (건설폐기물 재활용 2차 제품에 대한 확률모델 기반 비용분석)

  • Under consideration of construction waste recycling, candidate secondary products applicable for the civil and construction areas can be reliably employed based on the recycling cost analysis. For the validation purpose, probability-based cost analyses were performed to estimate recycling cost profit considering uncertainties. When recycling construction wastes, the costs at each stage are fully dependent on target products to be adopted. To achieve commercialization of each product, its quality has to be improved with economic efficiency through accurate evaluation of input costs. Based on the probabilistic recycling cost analysis, the cost benefit for target products was estimated with waste classification cost, transportation cost to recycling treatment facilities and production cost. All necessary information on the cost analysis were collected from literature, disclosure, and existing recycling companies. In addition, a cost difference between recycled and non-recycled events was made. As a result, a probability-based recycling cost estimate for candidate secondary products was herein presented.

Validity and Expected Effect of International Marketing Cooperative for Korean Animation (애니메이션 해외 배급 활성화를 위한 마케팅 협동조합 도입의 타당성 연구)

  • Operating under the principle of user-benefit maximization and democratic user-control, cooperatives are being spot-lighted as a business model satisfying the various social, financial needs. In Korea, the Law of Cooperative was enacted as of December 2012, which has enabled the establishment of cooperatives in variety of industry fields. This study is to discuss the expected effect and validity of marketing cooperative as a solution for insufficient sales revenue in international distribution of Korean animation. The interviews with Korean animation studios found out the key problems of overseas distribution, which are; 1) lack of marketing expertise and weak organization, 2) lack of ancillary rights exploitation due to the deals based upon all rights package with the broadcasters who are not interested in ancillary business, 3) lack of localized marketing support in each territory. The solution for these problems takes large and long-term marketing investment and it is far beyond the capabilities of small Korean animation studios. Marketing cooperative can provide services not available otherwise such as in-depth market research which will help the improvement of international marketing expertise. Also. as the cooperative carries enough volume of animation catalogue, it can increase negotiation power satisfying the various needs of buyers. Also, it can provide the precise marketing support for each territory by integrating every process of value chain, from TV broadcasting, merchandising, and digital media platform. Above all, a clear benefit of marketing cooperative is that, because of its user-benefit and user-control principle, the principal-agent problem can be minimized while it maximizes the profit for member studios.

Revitalization Case Study Of Bamboo Industry of Damyang Province through Design Business Approach (디자인비즈니스개념적 접근을 통한 담양군 죽세산업의 재활성화방안 사례연구)

  • This study suggests the way of revitalization of strategic specialized industry from the perspective of design business model. In order to revitalize the regional strategic specialized industry, it is necessary to overcome traditional production-based industry structure. For the industry's side, companies should convert their traditional production-based business perspective into market-oriented or design-oriented one. For the designer's side, they need to lead the design-centered industry structure by suggesting active design sources to industries escaping from passive design development perspective. Namely, the revitalization of strategic specialized industry can be peformed by design-based and market-oriented business execution. The formation of market-oriented industry can be accomplished by designers who do their design development works with design-business perspective and play an active role in the industry system. For the suggestion of concept mentioned above, this study conceptualized the meaning of design business, and applied the concept of it to the case study for bamboo industry of Damyang province. The case study suggests the possibility that designers are able to create higher profit through various sources such as sales royalty, production royalty etc by playing an active role for design development, industry selection, business system establishment and so on. In addition, the study implies that industries can increase the possibility of business success through design-based business execution mentioned above.

Influence of 3D Characteristics Perception on Presence, and Presence on Visual Fatigue and Perceived Eye Movement (3D 영상 특성 인식이 프레즌스, 그리고 프레즌스가 시각 피로도와 인지된 안구운동에 미치는 영향)

  • After the movie "AVATAR" became a good model of cash-cow in 3D movie, the profit of 3D-movie significantly reduced. One of the reasons why it happens comes from rare understanding of human factors for instance how viewers get immersed, but sometimes tired. Although 3D images should be more considered human visual system including eye, unfortunately most communication research ignored human factors. For those reasons this study observed the effect of 3D video on viewers' psychological response, especially for perceived eye movement, perceived characteristics, visual fatigue, and presence. With 90 participants, the results show that viewers' perceived feature effects on their presence. In detail, first, materiality and tangibility are more important factors than clarity in 3D video, and it means that when making 3D content or devices, materiality and tangibility should be considers that any other factor. Second, this study examined whether we perceive our eyes as media, and the result shows that as viewers' presence level became higher we perceive eye movements more, and as viewers' presence level became higher perceived visual fatigue became lower. This result means that when we move eyes, we interact with surrounded environment, so 3D content needs to provide vivid features to be more interactive. On the other hand, since level of presence increase visual fatigue, it must be balanced when producing and playing.
