This study explores the background and the processes underpinning the educational reform movement based on local community. This educational community initiated the alternative education reform movement, which is referred to as the small school movement. A qualitative case study was implemented by collecting data from thirty articles, three focused interviews. This study drew out three key factors as the operation of educational community in regional area. First, it claimed a total of 30 papers related to the educational community for content analysis. Second, key words were derived in the local educational community context. They developed their own alternative educational programs, such as self-supportive meeting, season carnivals, community revitalization activities, and so on. Their focus was on finding out and establishing better educational relationships among the concerned communities. Third, the community continues to reinforce the internal rules and climate through meta-education, a process, in which education educates itself. As a result, they could enjoy substantial success in a visible educational community. This small school revival movement later grew into the new school movement. Furthermore, a variety of teachers, parents groups, and interested scholars have been engaged in the community movement through professional networking. This study suggests that the key innovator-initiated movement, which involves education reform, upgraded Korean education, and improved their own expertise and autonomy, is expected to be the first step to solve the current Korean educational problems by the educational community.

This study proposes the O P E N Triad framework as a future set of tools and perspectives for individual members and institutes to further their professional and academic potential as well as prospect and vitalize the future of the Korean Clothing and Textiles discipline through a global perspective. The millennial generation desires On-demand, Personal, Engaging, and Networked (O P E N) experiences effecting cultural change for creative and influential interaction in transactions, communication, and education. O P E N Individuals offers a WebSphere model as a holistic learning system that has a synergizing value of education across academic courses, industries, and cultures. Through a digitalized and virtualized class, it complements relevant technologies already familiar to the student population. By employing environmental scanning approaches, the most influential and viable future global issues related to the clothing and textiles discipline are identified and dialogued within O P E N Institutes. For future clothing and textiles institutes, this scanning allows them to be open to new ideas, to focus on inter-engagements, to collaborate among individuals, to associate as a part of web of people, organizations, and ideas, to personalize an institutes curricula, and to dialogue generative knowledge. O P E N Industries reveals three dominant future issues that cross academia and industry, sustainability, supply chain management, and social networking. In-depth interviews with U.S. industry experts identified interdependent gaps in global consumer experience practices and suggested the following gaps as future research areas: a standardized business model to the entrepreneurial model, strategic management to a sustainable competitive advantage, standardized to differentiated products, services and operations, market segmentation to global consumer clusters, business-driven marketplaces to consumer-engaged marketspaces, and excellent services to optimal experience. This O P E N Triad framework empowers millennial students, universities, and industries to anticipate and prepare for a radically changing world.
This study was conducted to investigate actual conditions and needs of nutrition education in order to develop a nutrition education program for pregnant women in health centers. The questionnaires were mailed to 245 health centers and 146 questionnaires were returned. Most health centers(76%) had nutrition education program for pregnant women. About 63% of supervisors were the nurses and 43% of educators were dieticians. The teaching method which was used most frequently was lecturing(34%). Teaching material which was used most frequently was material brought by invited speakers(31%). The subjects of education were the relationship between nutrition for pregnant women and the baby's health(19%), dietary guide and directions for pregnancy(19%), nutrient supplement for pregnant woman(17%), weight gain during pregnancy(16%), abnormal symptoms of pregnancy and health(15%), pregnancy complications and health(13.0%), and others. These subjects were the same ones which educators thought were needed in education. Important success factors in education were giving accurate information and guide and practice, while failure factors were lack of proper space, lack of practice, and others. Lack of a standardized nutrition education program was the biggest barrier to running a program. The subjects which were taught and the needs in nutrition education were significantly different according to respondents' age, educational level, job position, and residence of health center. Therefore, a standardized program, proper space for practice, and professional educators are needed to promote the effectiveness of nutrition education.

The presence of teacher is very important and it could be the core of making success or failure of education. Thus, most countries have a training program and employment system school teachers for guarantees to school teachers' qualification and profession. Teacher qualifications can be obtained by law, teacher recruitment examination for school in Korea. The Praxis tests are taken by individuals entering the teaching profession as part of the certification process required by many states and professional licensing organizations in U.S. Korea teacher employment test consist of 3 groups(1st, 2nd, 3rd test), 1st test measure general and subject-specific Knowledge. The U.S. teacher certification test consist of 3 groups(Praxis I, II, III), Praxis II measure knowledge of specific subjects that K-12 educators will teach, as well as general and subject-specific teaching skills and knowledge. The purposes of this study is to review teachers' certification and recruitment system comparative analysis examination questions in the Korea and U.S. This will allow for suggestions in the Korean teacher librarian employment test system.
The theory of creative class has shown that the creative people are the key factor of success in regional economic growth. The creative people strengthen the economic competitiveness which is crucial to attract, cultivate and mobilize the resources of that region. In order to examine the theory of creative class for regional economic growth and firm productivity in Korea, this study uses the panel data of 492 Korean firms of the industrial complex producing electic and electronic manufactured goods. They are grouped into 10 industrial complexes among 16 metropolitan areas. Our findings demonstrate that creative class and 3Ts are related to the ratio of creative population density and the regional economic growth. Specifically the creative core class is of more significance to the regional economic growth than the creative professional class or the creative artist class. In our findings the panel analysis of random effects model shows that the talent index of 3Ts as well as the regional climates arc related to the individual firm's total factor productivity. This also reflects a conglomeration of the other regional climates statistically. On the other hand, the research and development expenditure of individual firms shows positive influence for each second consecutive year for the total factor productivity. Sales volume also contributes to the total factor productivity. In conclusion, we recommend that it is important to upgrade the level of creative climates by attracting the creative minds and R&D investment of the enterprises for regional economic growth and firm's total factor productivity.
This paper examines the life and achievements of Lillian E. Gilbreth(l878-1972) called 'the first lady of American engineering' as an attempt to excavate women engineers in history. Lillian changed her majors from English literature to psychology of management through her marriage, and tried to integrate psychology of management and scientific management by coworking with her husband. After that, Lillian contributed to extend scientific management to the domain of domestic labor, institutionalize industrial engineering in American universities and enhance the status of woman in engineering societies by her own independent research and education. The success factors of Lillian Gilbreth as a woman engineer includes the development of professional career by conquest of various social discrimination, the positive understanding and assistance by neighborhood males, the selection of an emerging field like industrial engineering, and so on. This study can provide not only a case of role model for women engineers but also practical reference materials for gender-sensitive engineering education.

In a knowledge-information based society, effective management across IT industries, value of information and interoperation are more important than eyer before. Therefore, ITA/EA which helps to plan and manage IT systematically and effectively, was enacted and announced in 2005 and has been considered as an innovative IT management approach. Unfortunately, however, new standardization of ITA/EA has not fully discussed yet. How to successfully apply EA/ITA to IT is considered as the most urgent challenge and this study aims to find out the most effective method. To this end, it was emphasized that training systems for specialized experts must be operated systematically through 'standardization of terms and tasks' and 'standardization of manpower training' and certification of specialty must be newly established. In addition. it was strongly demanded that dual structure caused by mixed concepts between ITA and EA must be eliminated. At the same time. a new model for domestic standardization was suggested so that not only ITA/EA can be recognized as IT engineering but also professional engineers can accept ITA/EA as a scientific field. In summary, this study is intended to propose how to improve information management efficiency through ITA/EA.
There are always many kinds of risks in software development such as frequent changes of requirements. Especially those risks related to the software characteristic of non-visibility can be threat to the project success. That lead us to the need of process implementation to reduce and minimize those risks. Although, most of the organization recognizes the importance of risk management, actual implementation requires professional knowledge in this area. CMMI, the de facto standard in process reference model, also emphasizes on risk management process area but only provides goals and practices to be implemented, not detail procedure and methods. In this paper, we developed Risk management implementation model based on IDEAL, the process improvement model based on CMMI. The proposed model will help the organizations to implement risk management process which is proper to their situation in the factor of organization size and project characteristics.

The objective of this research is to acquire basic data to develop a program for professional consultants who can consult and provide advice for rural women's small business entrepreneur. In this research, startup business educational programs and 10 major related textbooks in Korea were analyzed, and a survey was conducted in which 71 owners of government funded rural small business responded. The major findings are as follows; First, most programs were targeting city females and were providing basic information mostly using lecture method over a few days. And no programs for rural women's small business could be found. Second, no textbooks dealing with rural women's small business could be found and the contents of each textbook differed significantly even though there were a few common points. Third, the result of the survey indicated that rural women's small business entrepreneurs had difficulty especially in acquiring necessary initial funds and raw materials, selling products, and judging the possibility of business success. And, there was significant difference in importance and perceived knowledge over 36 business know-hows in business startup area among the respondents. Based on the results, the followings could be recommended; First, educational programs for rural women's small business entrepreneurs should use a unique and different approach than other industries. Also, it is necessary to foster startup consultants especially for the rural women's small business entrepreneurs and to develop a delivery system for the startup educational programs. Second, contents of educational programs need to be selectively included depending on the level of uses. Finally, a workbook should be developed so that entrepreneur candidates can actually practice rather than just acquiring basic information and superficial knowledge during the participation.

Purpose: The treatment of gingival recessions is needed to reduce root sensitivity and improve esthetical satisfaction. Several surgical techniques have been proposed to achieve these goals. The use of connective tissue grafts has made esthetic root coverage a predictable procedure. Numerous clinical studies have represented that using connective tissue grafts to cover exposed root surface showed high success rates. This is a case report which demonstrates the technique to obtain root coverage of a buccal recession defect. Materials and Methods: A 35-year-old patient with a high level of oral hygiene was selected for the study. This patient had one Class I Miller recession defect in the mandible. A coronally advanced flap in combination with the connective tissue graft was chosen for the treatment. After surgery, the patient was told to visit the hospital once a week for his oral management and professional prophylaxis. The depth of initial recession was 4.0 mm. Result: After three months, it reduced to 0.0 mm, and the average recession reduction was 4.0 mm. The average root coverage was 100%. Conclusion: The connective tissue graft is both effective and predictable way to produce root coverage in increasing the width of CAL and KT of various adjacent gingival recessions.
