  • Purpose: This study explores the impact of interactivity and professionalism on consumer trust and purchase intentions in live-streaming distribution channels, explicitly focusing on Shopee Live in Indonesia. While prior research has examined trust as a general mediator between live-streaming features and consumer behavior, this study focuses on the distinct effects of trust in sellers versus in platforms. Utilizing the S-O-R framework, this research provides a novel exploration of how these trust dimensions act as an intermediary between live-streaming features and purchase intentions. Research Methods: Data were collected from 373 Shopee Live users who purchased fashion products via online surveys. The research employs Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the proposed model and hypotheses. Results: Findings reveal that interactivity positively affects trust in both sellers and platforms but does not directly influence purchase intentions. Conversely, professionalism directly impacts purchase intentions and enhances trust. Trust in sellers and platforms significantly mediates the relationship between interactivity, professionalism, and purchase intentions. Specifically, trust in sellers substantially affects purchase intentions more than trust in platforms. Conclusion: The study concludes that while interactivity builds essential trust, professionalism directly drives purchase intentions, highlighting the importance of professional conduct in live-streaming distribution channel contexts.

  • The objectives of the study were to investigate job burnout and leader-member exchange (LMX) levels as well as to evaluate buffering effects of LMX on burnout among dietitians and chefs at institutional foodservices. Hypotheses were proposed based on the Job Demands-Resources model and LMX theory. The study population consisted of dietitians and chefs who were in charge of managing unit operations in a nationwide contract management company. Positive/negative affectivity, workload, job burnout, and LMX scales that bad been validated in previous research were adopted A total of 552 questionnaires were distributed and 154 responses were returned. Results indicated that respondents' burnout levels were moderate and emotional exhaustion was greater than cynicism. In terms of LMX, the surveyed dietitians and chefs showed higher respect toward their supervisors than loyalty. When positive affectivity and negative affectivity were controlled, workload influenced emotional exhaustion and professional efficacy significantly. With affectivity and workload controlled, however, LMX did not influence any dimensions of burnout. The moderating effect of LMX on the relationship between workload and cynicism was significant. That is, the effect of workload on cynicism was weak if the dietitians and chefs perceived the relationship with their supervisor positively. Based on the findings and literature reviewed, how to mitigate job burnout among foodservice managers is discussed.

  • This study investigated whether the Point of attachment (POA) theory can be used to measure the consumption intention on go and watch offline eSports games. The admiration for players, social interaction, and on-site consumption requirements for viewing offline eSports competitions are prioritized. In addition, eSports fans in various regions may have distinct consumption concepts and consumption patterns. Thus, this study surveyed China (n = 156) and South Korea (n = 127) eSports fans who subjectively perceive themselves to be fans of eSports player(s) and who have observed at least one offline eSports game. The results demonstrate that player attraction and socialization have positive and significant effects on offline consumption factors. There is no correlation between previous consumption behavior and satisfaction, but dining shows a significant positive effect on satisfaction. Moreover, there is a strong relationship between satisfaction and future attendance intention. In addition, effect of eSports fan attachment on future visit intentions are measured and there is no correlation between the two variables. The front end of the path in the new model's varied between Chinese and Korean supporters. Finally, theoretical and practical implications of this study are discussed.

  • Mongolia is suffering from the inadequate capacity of medical doctors due to a poor education and training system. The purpose of this article is to evaluate the effect of a clinical training program for capacity building of medical doctors in Mongolia, and to suggest an effective model for continuing professional development in developing countries. Based on the results of a needs assessment, Korean and Mongolian medical experts developed a clinical training program and trained the trainers on 32 topics regarding major clinical problems in 6 specialties, including cardiology, endocrinology, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, neurology, and emergency medicine. Surveillance survey and pre/post-test were used on every topic to evaluate the satisfaction and achievement, respectively, of the trainees. Six months after the clinical training program, we interviewed a sample of medical professionals to evaluate the change and impact. A total of 612 (person-year) medical doctors participated in the training, and the average score for satisfaction was 7.69 out of 8. The average score of the pre-test was 46.9 out of 100, while the post-test was 82.4. After the training, the medical doctors were applying their new knowledge and skills to their practice, and using the materials as guidelines, which improved their practice and increased patient satisfaction. They also started their own training program and adopted new equipment at their hospitals. The satisfaction and achievement of the trainees were very high, and there was significant change in the medical practice, education system, and infrastructure after the training program. This training program can be an effective model for capacity building of medical doctors in developing countries.

  • This paper investigates the parenting stress of fathers who have preschooler. At first, a causal model constructed, including the parenting stress as a dependent variable and the psychological characteristics of paternal self-esteem and parenting efficacy as parameters. Based on the change of parenting stress, self-esteem and parenting efficacy according to various pertinent to fathers, the causal effect of various variables effecting on the paternal parenting stress is analyzed. The SPSS PC program was used for the statistical analysis, where fully exploited were frequencies, percentages, means, standard deviations, Cronbach α, one-way analysis(ANOVA), path analysis. The results can be summarized into 3 parts, in conclusion: 1) The younger a father is, the higher paternal self-esteem becomes. Paternal self-esteem trend was there, for a father who is a member of large family, and for a father whose education level is high, and for a father whose occupation is professional. Regarding parenting sense of competence, a father shows confidence when he has more income, more educated and less children. 2) The variable analysis effecting on the parenting stress dut to the paternal environment shows that a father feels more stress when his income is less and his spouse is working. The sub-factor analysis on the parenting stress shows that 'typical stress dut to the parenting' increases when his income is less and his spouse is working, and 'pressures pertaning to the parental role and distress' increases for a father with less income, working spouse, less educated and non-professional job. Further 'guilty to the parenting by others' shows higher for a father with less income and a working spouse. 3) The path analysis, which were performed to check the causality of the parenting stress dut to various variables, shows that the self-esteem and the parenting efficacy are significant factors directly effecting on the paternal parenting stress, and the job-satisfaction and marriage-satisfaction are significantly effecting on the parenting stress both directly and indirectly.

  • This study analyzed the relationship between efficient pitchers and teams advancing to the postseason in Korean professional baseball through DEA. A total of 1,133 pitchers who threw more than one inning from the 2014 season to the 2018 season were selected for this study. For DEA analysis, input variables were selected as annual salary and inning output variables as Wins, Saves, and Holds and the number of efficient pitchers for each season was classified using the input-oriented BCC model. After that, it was divided into two groups based on joining the postseason or not, and the number of efficient pitchers was compared through a prop test. As a result of the analysis, the groups that advanced to the postseason in the rest of the season except for the 2014 and 2017 seasons had more efficient pitchers. Considering that the 2014 season recorded the highest WAR (Wins Above Replacement) at 183.56 compared to other seasons, most pitchers threw well, and in the 2017 season, they made more mistakes in pitching than in other seasons, but they performed well in batters. The results of this study have expanded the research field using efficiency analysis in professional baseball and can be used as useful data for practical research.

  • The army is concerned about the decrease in enlistment resources due to the low birth rate and the weakening of military combat power due to the shortening of the military service period. Now, the military's quantitative growth is no longer limited and it is a time for qualitative growth. To this end, the Army has been applying the Israeli learning method Havruta to recruit training to improve the quality of training since 2019. After applying Havruta, several scholars have studied the effect of recruit training applying Havruta. As a result, it was verified that recruit training applying Havruta improves the inner motive, creativity, and military service value of trainees. This study investigated how trainees' inner motive, creativity, and military service value affect their satisfaction and achievement. In addition, it was studied whether the effect of recruit training applied with Havruta on achievement differs according to the educational background (high school graduate or higher) and military family (professional soldiers within 4th degree) of the trainees. To this end, a survey was conducted on 472 recruits, and the structural relationship between each variable and the moderating effect were analyzed using the structural equation model. As a result of the study, military service value did not affect training satisfaction. Also, there was a difference in the effect of creativity on training satisfaction according to the educational background of new recruits, and there was a difference in the effect of military service value on training satisfaction and training achievement according to military family members. The purpose of this study is to contribute to the improvement of the army's recruit training development plan and effective training system.

  • Objectives : In the present study, the effect of Scolopendrid Water-Alcohol Extract (SWAE) applied to acupuncture point BL23 (Shinsu) on the neuropathic pain was examined. A common source of persistent pain in humans is the neuropathic pain. Anti-convulsant drugs are used to treat the neuropathic pain. In the oriental medicine, Scolopendrid was used for long time to treat convulsant syndrome and back pain, etc. Methods : On the bases of the Scolopendrid clinical application, the effect of SWAE applied to the acupuncture point was tested in the rat model of neuropathic pain. Neuropathic pain was induced by tight ligation of L5 spinal nerve. When rats developed pain behaviors, One hundred microliter of SWAE was applied into the ipsilateral BL23 point at a dose of 10 mg/ml under enflurane anesthesia. The foot withdraw latency of the hind limb was measured for an indicator of pain level after each manipulation. Results : SWAE injection increased the mechanical threshold of the foot in the rat model of neuropathic pain significantly for the duration of 4h, suggesting a partial alleviation of pain. SWAE applied to BL23 point produced a significant improvement of mechanical sensitivity of the foot lasting for at least 4h. However, neither contralateral BL23 point, ST25 (Chonchu) point, nor LR3 (Taechung) point produce as much increase of mechanical sensitivity as ipsilateral BL23 point. And, this increase of mechanical sensitivity was dose-dependent. The improvement of mechanical threshold was interpreted as an analgesic effect. In addition, the analgesic effect of Scolopendrid 4 mg/kg injection is equivalent to that of gabapentin 50 mg/kg injection. The relations between SWAE-induced analgesia and endogenous nitric oxide(NO), inducible NO synthase (iNOS)/neuronal NO synthase (nNOS) were also examined. Results were turned out that both NO production and nNOS/iNOS protein expression which are increased by nerve injury were suppressed by SWAE injection applied to BL23 point. Conclusions : The data suggest 1) that SWAE produces a potent analgesic effect on the neuropathic pain model in the rat and 2) that SWAE-induced analgesia modulate endogenous NO through the suppression of nNOS/iNOS protein expression.
