The Effect of Scale Parameter in Designing Reliability Demonstration Test for Lognormal Lifetime Distribution (대수정규 수명분포를 갖는 제품에 대한 신뢰성 입증시험에서 척도모수의 영향분석)

  • In the fields of reliability application, the most commonly used test methods for reliability demonstration are zero-failure acceptance tests since they require fewer test samples and less test time compared to other test methods that guarantee the same reliability with a given confidence level. For products with lognormal lifetime distribution, the value of scale parameter is usually assumed to be known in designing reliability demonstration tests. It is important to select correct values of scale parameters to guarantee the specified reliability with given confidence level exactly. The effect of using wrong values of scale parameters in designing reliability demonstration test for products with lognormal lifetime distribution is examined and selecting proper values of scale parameters for conservative reliability demonstration is discussed.

Effects of the Attributes of Mobile Shopping Apps on Purchase Intention of Fashion Products

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the attributes of mobile shopping apps on the purchase intention of fashion products in the steadily growing mobile commerce market and analyze the mediation effect of shopping flow. Research design, data and methodology : In this study, a survey was conducted on users in their 20s to 50s who had experience of fashion products via mobile shopping apps. The questionnaire was analyzed on the final 507. The research issues were verified using Frequency analysis, Exploratory factor analysis, Reliability analysis, Confirmatory factor analysis, and Structural equation model. Results : Among the attributes of mobile shopping apps, reliability, enjoyment and ease of use were found to have a significant impact on shopping flow and fashion product purchase intention, while shopping flow had a significant impact on fashion product purchase intention. Product diversity and usefulness of shopping apps didn't show a significant effect. After examining the mediation effect, reliability, enjoyment, and ease of use were shown to have indirect effects by showing partial mediation effects. Conclusions : Studies show that consumers are not putting much emphasis on how diverse a product line is available and how useful a mobile shopping app is when they shop for fashion products on mobile devices. Factors that affect consumers' purchase intention are reliability, enjoyment and ease of use of shopping apps. These results shows that it is important to provide reliable information about fashion products, provide reliability to customers by setting up means for safe transactions, and provide a wider variety of services and information to make using the mobile shopping app enjoyable. In addition, there is a need to make it easy to find a fashion product that consumers like and make it easy to purchase when consumers find out fashion products that they like, and to configure how to use the app easily. Consequently, consumers become immersed in shopping which is also able to improve consumers' purchase intention on fashion products when a reliable, enjoyable and easy to use mobile shopping app is provided.

  • The software reliability growth depends on the testing time because the failure rate varies whether it is long or not. On the other hand, it might be difficult to reduce failure rate for most of the cases are not available for debugging during operational phase, hence, there are some literatures to study that the failure rate is uniform throughout the operational time. The failure rate reduces and the reliability grows with time regardless of debugging. As a result, the products reliability varies with the time duration of these products in point of customer view. The reason of this is that it accumulates the products experience, studies the exact operational method, and then finds and takes action against the fault circumstances. I propose the simple model to represent this status in this paper.

Development of a Reliability Index using Design, Development and Production Information (설계, 개발 및 양산 정보를 활용한 신뢰성 지수 개발)

  • Purpose: In this paper, we developed a reliability index (RI) to efficiently compare reliability of products based on the design, development and production information such as reliability tests, quality, product life-cycle management. RI also can be applied to reliability prediction of a novel product as well as comparison evaluation among existing products. Methods: For evaluating RI, we proposed evaluation process which is composed of five steps. Target modules are selected based on warranty data and correlation analysis. Scores of selected target modules are calculated by scoring function. Finally, weights of RI model are determined by optimization method. Results: This paper presented an empirical analysis based on failure data of mobile devices. In this case study, we demonstrated that there is a direct correlation between evaluated RI and field failure probability of each product. Conclusion: We proposed the index for comprehensive and effective assessment of product reliability level. From the procedure of this study, we expected to be applied for reliability estimation of novel products and deduction of field failure-related factors.

  • This paper concerns Reliability Analysis System(RAS) developed by LG Electronics, Inc. for collecting, classifying, and analyzing field failure data. To develop this system, a database for the management of field failure data was built and several functions were included to analyze and assess the product reliability. Nonparametric estimation and cumulative hazard plotting techniques were applied to estimate the reliability for a specific period. This system serves not only engineers in charge of quality but also designers who wish to monitor the reliability of their own products.

  • The requirements of reliability verification for new products and technology are increasing more and more in accordance with the trend change of strength for safety technology, functional skills and emotional quality. In order to conduct the purpose of robust design from the stage of product development recently, the application of reliability technology has gradually increased such as detecting the failure mode throughout the HALT technique, accelerated tests and so on. The main results are as follows; i) through the pre-test and analysis, detected the basic performance and predictable failure mode, ii) HALT technique and process has been developed that can be applied test methods for the next new products.

  • Generally the price of agricultural products has much different characteristics from that of manufacturing products. If products have the limitation of long-term storage and the short period of cultivation, the price of products can be more unstable. Moreover, the price forecasting is very difficult because it doesn't follow any cycle or trend. However price can be regarded as risk instead of uncertainty if we can calculate the probability of price. Reliability analysis techniques are used for forecasting the price change of Chinese cabbage. This study aims to show the usability of reliability analysis for price forecasting. A price-forecasting model was developed based on weather data of the first 10 days of the full cultivating cycle (80 days) 70 days and the average price and standard deviation of wholesale market prices from 1996 to 2001 and applied to forecast the boom price, or the orice which is over the tolerance of market prices, of upland Chinese cabbage in 2002 and 2003. Applied results showed the possibility of boom price forecasting using reliability analysis techniques.

  • Purpose: ASRP for the domestic development guided missiles requires not only for the reliability evaluation of the products in storage but also for the life cycle management of the products including development prototypes and initial production items. Methods: For this purpose, it should be performed to build a performance database before and after the accelerated aging test with shelf life items including development prototypes and initial production items, based on which the lifetime prediction should also be carried out. In addition, HILS must be applied for the acceptance test with the initial and follow-up production items, and also for ASRP for the long-term storage products in order to secure systematic quality assurance. Results: The results for the life cycle reliability Improving of domestic development of guided missiles are DB building of prescription Item performance, active application of HILS, Management associated with guided missiles life cycle and to Secure technology data about the introduction of foreign guided missiles. Conclusion: Furthermore, it is demanded that DTaQ, the managing agency of ASRP, actively take part in the process to maintain reliability engagement consistency over the life cycle of guided missiles.

  • Bum-in procedures are developed far limited failure populations in which defective products fail soon after they are put in operation and non-defective ones never fail during the technological life of the products. The situation where products are produced from a production process with variable fraction defective is considered. Bum-in schemes guaranteeing pre-specified outgoing quality of products are derived using the mixed binomial prior distribution for the number of defectives in a batch.

Influence of SNS Characteristics on the Brand Image of Infant Food Products

  • Purpose - This study aims to examine the influence of social network service (SNS) on the brand image of infant food products; highlight the effects of brand image on the purchasing and word-of-mouth intention; and explore the effects of the purchasing intention on the word-of-mouth intention. Research design, data, and methodology - Based on previous studies, it was found that the fundamental SNS characteristics for infant food products are reliability, interactivity, and informative. Using AMOS 22.0 and structural equation modeling (SEM), 288 questionnaires were surveyed as a statistical method for examining the proposed hypotheses. Results - The analysis shows that reliability and informative have significant impacts on brand image, whereas interactivity does not. Again, the effect of brand image of infant food products on the purchase and word-of-mouth intention is statistically significant. However, the results differ across the "working housewife" and the "full-time housewife" groups. The connection between reliability and brand image was found to be statistically significant in this study. Conclusions - This study analyzes the effects of SNS characteristics on the brand image of infant food products and the effect of the brand image on purchase and word-of-mouth intentions, and provides practical implications for the same.
