  • Recently many administrative institutes try to improve the viability of rural villages. For increasing the viability, not only infrastructures but internal vitality is necessary in rural villages. Nonetheless, most of governmental projects have been focused on infrastructures. For this reason, RDA(Rural Development Administration) designed and performed the RHL(Rural Healthy and Longevity village) project. This RHL project is not easy to evaluate the outcome because it consists of very intangible project items. In this paper, we developed a scoring model to evaluate the result of the RHL project. The scoring model based on DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis) was suggested to evaluate the quantity of personal activities in each village. Personal activities are classified into five categories: regional life, social life, productive life, outdoor life and indoor life. Evaluating indices of each category are developed and weighting values are evaluated by AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process). The developed model was applied to Kumsan village and examined its applicability.

  • The IRR(internal rate of return) is often used by investors for the evaluation of engineering projects. Unfortunately, it has serial flaws: (1) multiple real-valued IRRs may arise; (2) complex-valued IRRs may arise; (3) the IRR is, in special cases, incompatible with the net present value (NPV) in accept/reject decisions. The efforts of management scientists and economists in providing a reliable project rate of return have generated over the decades an immense amount of contributions aiming to solve these shortcomings. Especially, multiple internal rate of returns (IRRs) have a fatal flaw when we decide to accep it or not. To solve it, some researchers came up with external rate of returns (ERRs) such as ARR (Average Rate of Return) or MIRR (MIRR, Modified Internal Rate of Return). ARR or MIRR. will also always yield the same decision for a engineering project consistent with the NPV criterion. The ERRs are to modify the procedure for computing the rate of return by making explicit and consistent assumptions about the interest rate at which intermediate receipts from projects may be invested. This reinvestment could be either in other projects or in the outside market. However, when we use traditional ERRs, a volume of capital investment is still unclear. Alternatively, the productive rate of return (PRR) can settle these problems. Generally, a rate of return is a profit on an investment over a period of time, expressed as a proportion of the original investment. The time period is typically the life of a project. The PRR is based on the full life of the engineering project. but has been annualised to project one year. And the PRR uses the effective investment instead of the original investment. This method requires that the cash flow of an engineering project must be separated into 'investment' and 'loss' to calculate the PRR value. In this paper, we proposed a tabulated form for easy calculation of the PRR by modifing the profit and loss statement, and the cash flow statement.

  • At present, the manufacturing industry is in a process of a great change. There is a demand for a variety of types and shorter product life. The change increases the number of different tools and frequencies of tool changes. For the most part, the tools are presetted and offset values are entered manually or via punched tapes to NC machines. Thus a large amount of capital is tied up in the tool area and considerable productive time is lost. Consequently, there is a need for improvement in tool management. This paper describes a computer controlled tool data management system which include: 1) tool identification with bar code. 2) computer aided management and updating of tool data. 3) tool data communication with tool presetter, CNC, etc.

  • Recently, human life and the low birth rate and aging population has increased exponentially. Entry into an aged society in the present case and the different policy alternatives, and is a reality. Resolution of one of these older active community participation and production activities to foster a rich life, infants need to be able to build a ubiquitous environment can be damaging. Latest IT technology in the development of intelligent life on all human life even more convenient by combining the computer and try to build a productive environment is. You simply connect your computer to the elderly rather than older users to use, efficient and productive way to improve efforts to follow. Emerging as an alternative to the more efficient interfaces for ubiquitous computing, user interface design criteria, albeit a little uncomfortable by suggesting improvements of the elderly and their participation in production activities helped to improve the quality of life. Ubiquitous environment, as well as means to improve the living environment of older people live independent lives, as given us is that you can get the premise of this study was in progress. Thus, by analyzing the characteristics of the elderly for the elderly by offering more efficient way to interface design for a new era of ubiquitous pushing back the boundaries of the elderly have been instruments to achieve social vitality.

  • Glyceollins, one of the inducible phytoalexins produced by plants, were induced in a number of varieties of Korean soybean through fungal infection. Of the tested soybean varieties, Tae-Kwang, though not the most productive, was found to be currently the most suitable for the induction of glyceollins. Amongst the fungal species, Rhizopus microsporus var. oligosporus was seen to be the most effective elicitor. Halved soybean seeds produced glyceollins upon fungal infection; however, chopped soybeans and homogenized soybeans did not produce significant quantities of glyceollins.

  • This study aims to understand the meaning that learning of the old age has, through old age learners who augustly live after retirement-life so called successful silver years. Qualitative research methods is used for analyzing the contents of articles about 15 old age learners and the results are follows below. First, the retirement has dual meaning for the old learners. One is they experienced psychological and emotional insecurity after retirement and the other is it is a turning point for them to realize their longtime dream. Second, the old age learners showed enthusiasm about learning and they voluntarily found the way of success in their silver years. Finally, the old age learners working in new career with provocative and enthusiastic attitude work as a role model of successful old age life and show how they progress. This study argued that we need to consider the old as active agents and the old age as the time when productive and continuous learning can be done. In addition, this study strongly insisted that we need to realize the importance of 'education by the elderly' and social and other relevant conditions are needed to be established immediately.

  • The present study examined the effect of parent-adolescent communication style and school life satisfaction on the relationship between depression and suicidal ideation among adolescents. The participants were 1,099 middle school and high school students in Chungnam province. The instruments used were the 'Parent-Adolescent Communication Inventory', 'The Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale', 'Suicidal Ideation Questionnaire', and 'School Life Satisfaction Scale'. The collected data were analyzed by t test, F test, the Scheff$\'{e}$ test for a post hoc test, Pearson's productive correlation, hierachical multiple regression, and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ for reliability by SPSS program(18.0 version). The results were as follows: First, there were significant differences in parent-adolescent open communication style, school life satisfaction, and suicidal ideation by school level, and in the relationship with the teacher in school life satisfaction by gender. Second, the more depressed they were, the more they had suicidal ideation by school level and gender. Also, the more they communicated openly with their parents and the more satisfied they were with their school life, the less depressed they were and the lower degree of suicidal ideation they had. Finally, there were significant effects of both parent-adolescent communication style and school life satisfaction on the relationship between depression and suicidal ideation among adolescents.
