A Study on Development of Safety Duty Education According to Production Manager Job Analysis in the Mechanical System (기계 시스템 생산 작업관리자 직무 분석에 의한 안전직무교육 개발에 관한 연구)

  • As the demand for automation (or autonmation) or clean workplace has grown, the interest in the knowledge and skill regarding safety is rising in manager duty. Moreover, the importance of severity rate of injury has increased due to the enlargement of industry scale, even safety management area has developed. Thus, it is important that production managers, the core of the line process, realize the safety in their production line, even if a safety manager acts as a staff. However, in the duty oriented National Competency Standard (NCS), the education about the safety duty of production management part is insufficient. According to NCS, it is calculated production managers receive only 6.7% of whole safety education regarding the duty related the safety management for production manager in mechanical industry. However, the ability in safety is more demanded from production managers as the concept of "production and safety" turns into the concept of "production with safety". And then in this paper, we will compare and analyze the safety management duty in Korean NCS and the safety management duty in State Leaders Connecting Learning to Work in US manufacturing industry, in terms of the duty of the production manage in mechanical industry (05). And, we will develop the safety duty education system for production manager, by classifying the safety education in domestic mechanical industry into knowledge education, skill education, and attitude education with using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process).

  • Quality management has been recognized as an important means to secure business competitiveness for management environment changes and competitiveness reinforcement. An effort of an ISO 9001 certification has thought that it is the best way to practice quality management. This paper checks a quality management situation of manufacturing companies that acquired ISO 9001 certification. Then, this paper investigates whether quality management is actual1y contributing to production performance and proposes proper alternatives for an improvement of production performance.

  • Workers are avoiding production/manufacturing sites due to the poor working environment and concern over safety. Small and medium-sized businesses introduce new equipment to secure safety in the production site or ensure effective process management by introducing the real-time monitoring technique for existing equipment. The importance of real-time monitoring of equipment and process in the production site can also be found in the ANSI/ISA-195 model. Note, however, that most production sites still use paper-based work slip as a process management technique. Data reliability may deteriorate because information on the present condition of the production site cannot be collected/analyzed properly due to manual data writing by the worker. This paper introduces the monitoring and process management technique based on a direct facility interface to secure safety in the field by improving the poor working environment and enhance there liability and real-time characteristics of the production data. Since the data is collected from equipment in real-time directly through the SIB-based interface and PLC-based interface, problems associated with workers' manual data input are expected to be solved; safety can also be improved by enhancing workers' attention to work by minimizing workers' injuries and disruption.

  • To keep enterprise's competitiveness on condition of the automatic manufacturing system such as FA, FMS and CIM, all the maintenance problems should be considered seriously in not only production and maintenance but also related Industrial safety. As we analyze in the surveys for the maintenance management of domestic enterprises and the causes of industrial accident, there will be necessity of drawing up countermeasures for prevention of industrial accidents and for ensuring expertise maintenance technologies. Based on these analyses, this study studied the safety information system, maintenance management information system, and the machinery condition diagnosis technique by using of the knowledge-based system under the internet environment. This web based knowledge-based diagnosis system can easily provide not only the knowledge of expert about deterioration phenomenon of industrial robot, but also the knowledge of relating safety and facility on everywhere, everytime. Therefore, when we use this system, it is expected to improve the efficiency of business processes in the production and safety.

  • Many production management systems for increasing productivity, minimizing inventory, keeping due dates and maximizing use of resources have been proposed, and GT, MRP and JIT are frequently used among these systems. The three systems have merits and demerits through comparing with each other. Because each system has mutual dependence, a hybrid production system is necessary for using their merits maximally. In this study, a hybrid production system is designed by combining GT, MRP and JIT, which is suitable in the domestic production system.

  • To promote the efficiency of production process of small and medium sized company, government conducts production information business that collects and analyzes information of production field automatically and helps process' controlling and supervising by supporting costs of purchase, installment, etc. of hard-software and network related to middle and small sized company intending e-Manufacturing of production field with computer and information & communication network. As a result, the number of middle and small sized companies that introduce and manage production information system is increased. Therefore, the purposes of this research are to arrange contents of production information system introduced to solve current problems of middle and small sized companies and analyze effects of small and middle sized companies' introduction through example companies.

  • In this study, which is the basis for industrial presses to target small and medium enterprises with production information system is designed. Production information in real time on-site digitizing and transmitting data to a standard PC is to base operations. Personnel management, safety management, production management is to increase the efficiency. Therefore, at low cost is to encourage computerization within the company. These embedded systems and wireless communication module has a database management program installed in order to raise productivity and competitiveness will improve.

Application Case of Safety Stock Policy based on Demand Forecast Data Analysis (수요예측 데이터 분석에 기반한 안전재고 방법론의 현장 적용 및 효과)

  • The fourth industrial revolution encourages manufacturing industry to pursue a new paradigm shift to meet customers' diverse demands by managing the production process efficiently. However, it is not easy to manage efficiently a variety of tasks of all the processes including materials management, production management, process control, sales management, and inventory management. Especially, to set up an efficient production schedule and maintain appropriate inventory is crucial for tailored response to customers' needs. This paper deals with the optimized inventory policy in a steel company that produces granule products under supply contracts of three targeted on-time delivery rates. For efficient inventory management, products are classified into three groups A, B and C, and three differentiated production cycles and safety factors are assumed for the targeted on-time delivery rates of the groups. To derive the optimized inventory policy, we experimented eight cases of combined safety stock and data analysis methods in terms of key performance metrics such as mean inventory level and sold-out rate. Through simulation experiments based on real data we find that the proposed optimized inventory policy reduces inventory level by about 9%, and increases surplus production capacity rate, which is usually used for the production of products in Group C, from 43.4% to 46.3%, compared with the existing inventory policy.

  • By successful establishment of Supply Chain Management System they should make the supply chains speedy and combine production information system with the outcome system and thus they reinforce the competition of the production system of local enterprises in accordance with the rapid decision making. Supply chain coordination improves if all supplier of chain take actions that together increase total supply chain profits. To design of Modularity by the grouping supplier, the proposed method is to develop the most appropriate production system models through the reflection of JIT system in the Supply Chain Management which is necessity of the times and its importance. The objects of this study is to develop the most appropriate production system Model and optimal profit model in the process line and to provide the enterprises with the models which are based on the Supply Chain Management.

Analysis of risk factors for safety accidents for fisher onboard aquaculture fisheries management vessel (양식어업 어장관리선에 승선하는 어선원의 안전사고 위험요인 분석)

  • This study aimed to quantitatively analyze the risk using data from 329 safety accidents that occurred in aquaculture fisheries management vessels over the recent five years (2018-2022). For quantitative risk analysis, the Bayesian network proposed by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) was used to analyze the risk level according to the fishing process and cause of safety accidents. Among the work processes, the fishing process was analyzed to have the highest risk, being 12.5 times that of the navigation, 2.7 times that of the maintenance, and 8.8 times that of the loading and unloading. Among the causes of accidents, the hull and working environment showed the highest risk, being 1.7 times that of fishing gear and equipment, 4.7 times that of machinery and equipment, and 9.4 times that of external environment. By quantitatively analyzing the safety accident risks for 64 combinations of these four work processes and four accident causes, this study provided fundamental data to reduce safety accidents occurring in aquaculture fisheries management vessels.
