The Sanitary Management Procedures of Foodservice in Elementary Schools in Pusan (부산지역 학교급식의 위생관리 수행 평가)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the sanitary management procedures of foodservice in elementary schools in Pusan area. The questionnaire which were administered to 189 dietitians was used in this study as a survey method. The results were as follows. Mean total length of employment for dietitians at school foodservice was 3.7 year. The mean serving scale was 1,052 meals. Meals were served at classroom 63.5%, lunchroom 23.8%, and classroom+lunchroom 12.7% of the schools. The mean time span required of meal delivery was 31.5min at the classroom serving place. Regarding total mean score of sanitary management procedures, time temperature was 3.48/5.00, personal sanitation 4.20/5.00, equipments and facilities sanitation 3.92/5.00. The mean score of the pre preparation was 3.91/5.00 for time temperature management procedure, those of food purchasing and receiving, food storage, food production, meal. assembly.trasnportation service, and hot.cold holding were 3.83/5.00, 3.82/5.00, 3.71/5.00, 3.25/5.00, 2.30/5.00 respectively. Inventory policy comparison on supply chain network by simulation technique

  • The aim of the paper is to solve the problem of customer reduction due to the difficulty of parts sourcing which impacts production delay and delivery delay in SC networks. Furthermore, this paper is to suggest the new inventory policy of MTS in order to solve the problem of current inventory policy. In order to compare two policies, a LCD maker is selected as a case study and the real data for 2007 years is used for simulation input. The maker uses MTO policy for parts sourcing which has the problem of lead time even if it has some advantage of inventory cost. Based on current process. The simulation program of AS-IS model and TO-BE model using ARENA 10 version is developed for evaluation. In a result, the order number of two policies shows that MTO is 52 and MTS is 53. However the quantity of order shows big difference such that MTO is 168,460 and MTS is 225,106. Particularly, the lead time of new inventory policy shows much shorter that that of MTO such that MTO 100 is days and MTS is 16 days. In spite of short lead time by MTS policy, new policy has to take burden of inventory cost per year. Total inventory cost per year by MTS policy is US$ 11,254 and each part inventory cost is that POL is US$ 1,807, LDI is US$ 2,166 and Panel is US$ 7,281. The implication of the research is that the company has to consider the cost and the service simultaneously in deciding the inventory policy. In the paper, even if the optimal point of deciding is put into tactical area, the ground of decision is suggested in order to improve the problem in SC networks.

  • For the restoration of construction industry, the government have offered the policy since the end of 1990. It has offered to develop the world-class technology and establish the effective production structure. In the government policy, the delivery and contracting method has improved so that construction industry could be recognized. Foreign countries have conducted the R&D and application of Innovative Contracting for improvement of facilities, reduction of LCC and innovation of contractor. Among the Innovative Contracting, 'Performance Warranty Contracting' is defined that A guarantee of the integrity of a product and of the makers responsibility for the replacement or repair of deficiencies. Performance Warranty Contracting is used for technology developments of contractor, improvement of quality, reduction of LCC, prevention of early deficiencies and reduction of owner's inspection works. This paper analyzes concept and effects of Performance Warranty Contracting and presents considerations according to the introduction.

Screening of Endophytic Antagonistic Bacterium from Phellodendron amurense and Their Biocontrol Effects against Canker Rot

  • Thirty-four strains of bacteria were isolated from Phellodendron amurense. Using Nectria haematococca as an indicator strain, the best strain, B18, was obtained by the growth rate method. The morphological, physiological and biochemical characteristics of strain B18 and its 16S DNA gene sequence were identified, and the biocontrol effect of strain B18 was assessed in pot and field tests, as well as in a field-control test. Drilling methods were used to determine the antibacterial activity of metabolites from strain B18 and their effects on the growth of pathogen mycelia and spores. The best bacteriostatic rate was 85.4%. B18 can hydrolyse starch and oxidize glucose but does not produce gas; a positive result was obtained in a gelatine liquefaction test. According to 16S DNA gene sequencing, strain B18 is Bacillus methylotrophicus (GenBank accession number: MG457759). The results of pot and field-control trials showed 98% disease control when inoculating $10^8cfu/ml$ of the strain. The disease control effect of the B18 culture liquid (concentrations of $10^8$, $2{\times}10^6$, $10^6$, $5{\times}10^5$ and $2.5{\times}10^5cfu/ml$) in the field-control test was higher than 80%, and the cure rate of the original delivery solution was 96%. Therefore, in the practical forestry production, a $2.5{\times}10^5cfu/ml$ culture liquidshould be applied in advance to achieve good control effects.

Nasal Immunization Using Chitosan Nanoparticles with Glycoprotein B of Murine Cytomegalovirus

  • The use of nanoparticles as a delivery system for a specific antigen could solve many limitations of mucosal vaccine applications, such as low immunogenicity, or antigen protection and stabilization. In this study, we tested the ability of nasally administered chitosan nanoparticles loaded with glycoprotein B of murine cytomegalovirus to induce an immune response in an animal model. The choice of chitosan nanoparticle type was made by in vitro evaluation of sorption efficiency and antigen release. Three types of chitosan nanoparticles were prepared: crosslinked with tripolyphosphate, coated with hyaluronic acid, and in complex with polycaprolactone. The hydrodynamic size of the nanoparticles by dynamic light scattering, zeta potential, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, stability, loading efficiency, and release kinetics with ovalbumin were evaluated. Balb/c mice were immunized intranasally using the three-dose protocol with nanoparticles, gB, and adjuvants Poly(I:C) and CpG ODN. Subsequently, the humoral and cell-mediated antigen-specific immune response was determined. On the basis of the properties of the tested nanoparticles, the cross-linked nanoparticles were considered optimal for further investigation. The results show that nanoparticles with Poly(I:C) and with gB alone raised IgG antibody levels above the negative control. In the case of mucosal IgA, only gB alone weakly induced the production of IgA antibodies compared to saline-immunized mice. The number of activated cells increased slightly in mice immunized with nanoparticles and gB compared to those immunized with gB alone or to negative control. The results demonstrated that chitosan nanoparticles could have potential in the development of mucosal vaccines.

  • This study describes the environment change of an internal and external medical device market to be entered to European market of an urinary incontinence treatment device, is aimed at suggesting a participation plan analyzing urinary incontinence and treatments, and characteristic of new products & European urinary incontinence market. In conclusion, to sell the urinary incontinence treatment device developed as the world's first in European market, the following strategies are needed. First, the strategies domestic firms make family doctors and urologists heighten awareness of the urinary incontinence treatment device developed in Korea through participation of associations and exhibition being held in Europe to increase a market penetration level are needed. Second, it may be necessary to emphasize the fact that this devices are a characterful products and treatments, and cost-effectiveness treatments reducing infection ratio. Third, the domestic production firms of the urinary incontinence treatment device should suggest quality, delivery, and price consistency through looking for ways to lower the price while maintaining the quality in an increasingly competitive market conditions.

RFID Code System for Traceability of Medical Herb (한약재 이력 정보 추적을 위한 RFID 코드체계)

  • The tracing system means that the system can follows, traces, and records every steps of production and delivery of goods and its ingredient. Specially, Koreans have big concern about food tracing system which is influential for health directly. We were more interested in medical herb using in oriental medicine than any other things. We proposed the process and design of tracing system for medical herb based on RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) technology in this research. This study shows current medical herb tracing ways and RFID code system by using for world standard. Firstly, We designed the new process of traceability of medical herb with various preceding references based on RFID technology. Secondly we suggest that RFID code configuration using the international standard code(ISO code) and korean agricultural and marine products code for the proposed process. RFID code system is very important because this plays a means of identification for tracing about medical herb. The proposed code system have the elements as Issuing Agency Code, Issuer Number, inspection information, inheritance flag, area code, modified agricultural and marine products code, serial number in 96 Bit length. Lastly We defined the code-generation process in the tracing system.

Fashion Journalism Expressed in Vogue USA (패션잡지 미국 "보그[Vogue]"에 나타난 패션 저널리즘)

  • Overflowing of fashion information that is derived from the development of various mass media has rather hindered adopters from appropriately screening fashion information. Thus, responsibilities of fashion journalists who play a role of communicating fashion information have become heavier. Fashion journalism may be defined as 'delivery of modes and involvement in production and logistics'. Since it connects fashion and culture industries with the public by reflecting fashion from diversified perspectives, the role of fashion journalism should never be overlooked in terms of culture as well as industry. This study analyzes fashion journalism from fashion-advanced country by reviewing the fashion journalism from the US, which is so-called fashion-advanced country and analyzing the contents of Vogue USA. This study made a historical review of fashion journalism through a reference study, and from a total of 24 volumes of Vogue USA from January 2004 through December 2005 classified articles by functions, tones, contents, and brands, pictorial records by functions, images, and brands, and ads by brands, quantitatively analyzing them. Further, through a case study it explored those articles and pictorial records which featured national characteristics in the USA, and examined how the fashion journalism in the USA imaged the fashion in the country. In addition, it tried to elicit the characteristics of fashion in the USA as a conclusion by categorizing those images while reviewing previous studies. The results show that Vogue USA features American fashion definitely. Thus, consequently it is easy to find images of American fashion in pictorial records, let alone categorizing them.

A Decision-Making Model for Shortening Construction Period through Concurrent Engineering (동시공학을 통한 공기단축 의사결정 모델)

  • The age of synthetic correspondence against "development period shortening, high quality" is about to come. While the product is becoming complexation gradually and also diversification, life cycle of product gets shorted. Under the infinity competition age, the certain answer of "the survival of the fittest" is that the enterprise itself must be able to shorten development and delivery term, reduce product development and life cycle cost, and satisfy customer in performance and value. From this point of view, concurrent engineering's theory, which develops the process of product in the manner of repetition, parallel, and synchronousness, is realized as a important strategy instrument in construction. This study investigates and analyzes several examples in order to apply concurrent engineering successfully, and presents the decision-making model through the simulation about the factor affecting in each process.

A Wisdom Asset Service Design Proposal by Service Nature (서비스본질기반의 지혜자산화 서비스디자인 제안)

  • The current research investigates an optimal design for the service system, which refers to the entire process of implementing, providing, and utilizing wisdom assets. We analyzed the intrinsic commonality of wisdom assets and services, and carried out research based on optimality in fidelity to service essence. The essential characteristics of service are horizontality, interactivity, harmonization, and relationship. It is suggested that the operating process can be implemented in the best condition when the wisdom asset service system is designed based on the four essential characteristics of services. It has been demonstrated that the entire process of production, delivery, marketing and quality control of wisdom contents can be designed on the basis of the essence of wisdom and service. After designing a basic service model, detailed service models are presented. The purpose of this study was to solve the problems of the material civilization society which is suffering mentally and to design the social service model which is high in productivity but mentally healthy. By supplementing and deepening the results of this study, it will be possible to develop and implement desirable social service model in which all societies live a happy life.
