  • This study selected and utilized the 'Naver post' as an e-book production tool to be used for learning. The production of such SNS format e-books aimed at founding out its effect on learning attitude and academic achievement by stimulating interest and confidence in the learning of the students. To accomplish such an aim, the study selected 50 students from two classes in the fourth grade of a public elementary school. One class of 25 students went through a social studies lesson that applied SNS type e-book production activities, and the other class of 25 students underwent a regular social studies lesson as the comparative group. The major results of the study's analysis is SNS type e-book production did not significantly improve academic achievement in social studies, but SNS type e-book production significantly improved the learning attitude during social studies.

  • Whereas a large variety of previous studies show mixed results regarding the relationship between public investment and economic outcome, several studies have been conducted on related issues in Korea. The present study deals with the effect of public investment in Korea on economic growth and productivity. Using administrative data, it exploits three different methodologies: the total factor productivity approach, production function approach, and stochastic frontier production function approach. The results of this study show that public investment has a statistically significant effect on economic growth. However, it contributes little to enhance productivity. It is explained that there exists inefficiency of production in the Korean economy. These findings indicate that public investment has played a central role in the direct input factor and not in indirect role in Korea. Thus, it is necessary for public investment policies to concentrate on enhancing the efficiency of the Korean economy.

  • The cone and seed production of pitch pine were investigated at two areas(songtan and yangdong) located in kyounggi province. Bymeans of formulas derived from both the regression analysis between the number of seeds and cone length, and between d2·h and number of cones, cone and seed production were estimated. The correlation coefficient value between the number of seeds and cone length was high(r=0.6134). The cone and seed production of pitch pine has a high relationship to the variables-dbh, tree aga , and height of tree. The cone production of pitchpine forest estimated by the formula log(o+s+y+c)=0.581 log(d2·h)-1.317 was 965,832/ha in 1985∼1986, 850,852/ha in 1986∼1987 at songtan, and 462,794/ha in 1985∼1986,916,965/ha in 1986∼1987 at yangdong.

  • Most studies on the operation policy for AS/RS concluded that the class-based storage policy has better performance than random storage policy does. However ASRS performances are examined only with the assumption of fixed production quantity in the studies. It is true that production quantity of each item changes frequently in practice. If an ASRS keeps the current storage policy regardless of production quantity variation, the performance of present storage policy will be worse. The effect of production quantity variation per product between 10 and 80% with random storage policy and class-based storage policy with reassignment and relocation are studied. The results are compared with both of the randomized and class-based storage policies without reassignment nor relocation cases. A typical ASRS system is developed using GPSS/PC for operation policy evaluation purposes.

  • Studies on anthelmintic efficacy in sheep were carried out on a large breeding farm and on 7 smallholder farms in the North-Sumatra province, Indonesia. The efficacy in reducing strongyle infections in sheep, of albendazole on all farms and of febantel, levamisole and ivermectin on the breeding farm, was estimated by means of faecal egg count reduction tests. High efficacy (> 95%) was found with all the anthelmintics tested and on all farms. The results are discussed in relation to the current parasite control programme.

  • Records management begins at the time of production of the record. Public institutions need control methods and policies to ensure that records are produced and managed properly. Korea introduced the Records production report from the point of time when the Public Records Management Act was enacted to control the records from the production date. However, the Records production report is not operating for that purpose, so records managers and archivists are raising uselessness. In addition, there are differences over whether to keep the system or not, even within the National Archives of Korea. Therefore, the reasons for the existence of this policy, problems in operation, and opinions on alternatives were summarized through interviews with records managers and archivists.

  • I. The Factors Influencing In Vivo Embryo Production by Condition of Superovulation Treatment These studies were carried out to establish an effective and practical system for comrnercialization of embryo production techniques by analyzing several factors influencing in vivo embryo production on superovulation treatment in Korean native cattle. In vivo embryos were flushed 226 times from 128 donors. The results obtained from the studies on the factors influencing in vivo embryo production by superovulation treatment were as follows : FSH-P had a significiant advantage(83.0%) over SUPER-OV in the percentage of fertilized embryos(P<0.01). No difference was found loetween FSH-P and SUPER-OV in the percentage of transferable and freezable embryos.2. The response of superovulation by SUPER-OV was greater than that of FSH-P The donors having 8~9 and more than 10 of corpora lutea(CL) derived by FSH-P were 40.0%(most frequent) and 33%, respectively. The donors having more than 12 and 10 CL derived by SUPER -OV were 33.3% (most frequent) and 56.6%, respectively.3. Embryo production after treatment of repeated superovulation was remarkablely decreased at 3rd time by FSH-P but did not differ among 1, 2 and 3rd times by SUPER-OV. Embryo production on intervals of repeated superovulation was significantly different for the number and percentage of fertilized, transferable and free-zable' embryos in FSH-P (P<0.01) and rernarkablely decreased in repeated superovulation of 81~120 interval days. The SUPER-OV showed no differences in interval days of repeated superovulation and was found better than FSH-P in the response of repeated superovulation. (Key words : in Vivo embryo, superovulation, FSH -P, SUPER-OV)

  • Difficulties in the measuring home food production activities obstructs development of home production activity related studies. For solving such problems, this study intended to develope a home food production frequency scale. The data were collected from 219 housewives in Taejon. Validity, reliability, correlation, and multiple regression analysis were used to test home food production frequency scale. The scale's validity and reliability were reveled considerable potential for its use to ascertain relationships between home food production activity and other family variables.

  • Studies were designed to study the peri-parturient rise in strongyle faecal egg counts (FEC) in ewes grazing in a rubber plantation in North Sumatra, Indonesia. In three consecutive lambing seasons strongyle FEC of peri-parturient ewes and dry ewes were monitored from 2 to 3 weeks before lambing until 7 to 9 weeks post lambing to measure the magnitude and duration of the peri-parturient rise. A significant rise in FEC was observed during the post-parturient period in two of the three studies. FEC increased in the three studies from lambing day, and were elevated until 5 to 9 weeks following lambing. Lactating ewes shed on average 3 times more eggs than dry ewes. Lactating ewes were therefore considered as an important source of pasture infection. These findings are discussed in relation to the epidemiology and control of gastrointestinal nematodes in the humid tropics.

  • The earlier studies have analyzed theoretical links between nuclear energy and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions concerning territorial (or production-based) emissions. Here using the latest available dataset, this study explores the impacts of nuclear energy on production-based and consumption-based CO2 emission in the era of globalization for the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries. The Driscoll-Kraay regression method reveals that nuclear energy is beneficial for the reduction of production-based CO2 emissions. However, it is revealed that nuclear energy does not reduce consumption-based CO2 emissions that are traded internationally and hence not comprised in conventional production-based emissions (territory) inventories. Globalization tends to reduce both production-based and demand-based carbon emissions. Finally, Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) is validated for both kinds of CO2 emissions. The findings may deliver practical policy implications related to nuclear energy and CO2 emissions for selected countries.
