  • We have previously reported that activation of $K^{+}$-$Cl^{-}$-cotransport (KCC) by N-ethylmaleimide (NEM) induces apoptosis through generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in HepG2 human hepatoblastoma cells. In this study we investigated the possible role of phospholipase $A_2$($PLA_2$)-arachidonic acid (AA) signals in the mechanism of the NEM actions. (omitted)

  • Production of prostaglandins involved in renal salt and water homeostasis is modulated by regulated expression of the inducible form of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) at restricted sites in the rat kidney. COX-2 expression in the kidney is regulated by dietary salt intake, but the mechanism of its action is not fully understood. We have previously that high salt regulates COX-2 expression in rat kidney. (omitted)

  • 우리인체의 언어기관은 중추신경에서부터 근육에 이르기까지 광번위한 부분이다. 언어9발성)기관을 근육의 단계에서 볼 때는 다음의 세 가지 model(모형)으로써 언어생성(발성) 과정을 설명할 수 있다. 첫째 모형은 해부학적인 모형으로써 언어생성에 어떠한 근육들이 작용하는가를 볼 수 있고 두째번 모형은 생리학적인 모형으로 언어생성과정의 기능적인 면을 볼 수 있고 셋째번 모형은 물리학적 모형으로 말소리의 물리학적인 성질을 이해하는데에 도움을 준다. 이 세 가지 모형을 이용해서 언어생성 과정을 간결하게 설명했다.

  • This study proposes a CIM shell that is consisted with computers connected by a LAN. Since this system excludes production hardwares, physical movements of devices are represented by computer simulation. On the other hand, softwares that dictate system operation are real, and consu- me physical time. Thus the shell becomes half-real-half-simulation that requires events synchronization mechanism. This study shows the building procedure of such shell as well as an example of application of the shell.

  • A mixture of several bacterial metabolites $(Sterodin{\circledR})$ was used to study its effect on major immunocytes, in vivo and in vitro. This mixture of bacterial metabolites increased number of macrophages and neutrophils and their phagocytic activity in experimental animals for a transient period. BSA induced antibody production was found to be higher in the drug treated group. These results indicated that the bacterial metabolites probably acted through non-specific defence mechanism against invading organisms and the chance of reinfection was reduced.

  • The switched reluctance motor(SRM) drive system provides a good adjustable speed and torque characteristics. However, because of the torque production mechanism, it also has some disadvantage such as higher torque ripple and fluctuation in speed. To reduce torque ripple and to control speed precisely, digital signal processor(BSP) is adopted. The DSP TMS320F241 was used to be realized this drive system. Test results show that the suggested control system has the ability of dynamic and precise speed control.

  • 말더듬 연구의 최근 동향을 알아보기 위해 첫째로, 말더듬의 기저(underlying)를 이루는 neuromotor mechanism을 밝히기 위해 말더듬 연구에 도입된 새로운 접근 방법인 speech motor control에 대한 기초적인 이해와 어떻게 말더음이의 이론 및 치료에 응용되고 있는가를 개괄적으로 살펴보며, 둘째로 오랫동안 연구대상이 주로 성인 말더듬이였으나, 아동 말더듬이, 특히 취학 전 아동 말더듬이에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있는 이유 및 현재의 아동 말더듬에 관한 speech production 연구를 간략히 살펴보았다.

  • On the laser weld production line, a slight alteration of the welding condition changes the bead size and the strength of the weldment. The measurement system is produced by using three photo-diodes for detection of the plasma and spatter signal in $CO_2$ laser welding. The relationship between the sensor signals of plasma or spatter and the bead shape, and the mechanism of the plasma and spatter were analyzed for the bead size estimation. The penetration depth and the bead width were estimated using the multiple regression analysis.

  • In this paper, the mechanical characteristics and fundamental mechanism of a roll-formed tube during the hydroforming process are investigated in order to obtain the ewly localization of the tube hydroforming skills which are the core production techniques for the super light weight and high safety of the car body. Also, the theoretical influences of the material variables and the processes on the formability in the tube hydroforming are studied. In addition, the techniques to evaluate the forming limit of the bulging process of a tube are developed.
