A Study on Stabilization Measures for Foreign Military Product Quality Using the International Quality Assurance System (국제품질보증제도 활용을 통한 방산 국외도입품 품질 안정화 방안)

  • Purpose: The study proposes extended application of reviewing and developing international quality assurance system for useful and practical quality stabilization of foreign military product. There are several problems with quality assurance activities for foreign military products. To improve theses problems, this study researches measures and effects of entrustment of quality assurance activities to suppliers group abroad by utilizing the system. Methods: In order to carry out the research, consignment system for international quality assurance activity of advanced country has been analysed through this study. By applying the consignment system to the case of foreign military product, the possibility and effects of consignment is researched. Results: Through this study the procedure and substance of the international quality assurance system is verified. The quality assurance activities were consigned to suppliers group by utilizing the system, thus application basis for international quality assurace activities is established. Conclusion: Defense Import through The Quality Assurance System of trade countries using the International Quality Assurance System suggests the solution to endemic problems. The Introduction Military Product with the Quality Assurance System of Korean Government improves the competitiveness of defense export.

  • Product-service system (PSS) is a novel type of business model integrating products and services in a single system. It provides a strategic alternative to product-oriented economic growth and price-based competition in the global market. This paper first reviews the current status of PSS, including its concept, characteristics, benefits, and cases. This paper then reviews the existing literature and identifies major research issues for three main phases of a PSS development lifecycle, namely, PSS design, PSS evaluation, and PSS operation. This research is expected to contribute to promoting awareness and improving understanding of PSS in our society and planning of future research in this field.

  • Recently the portion of international collaborative research in national R&D is being on the increase. But the management system of products from the international collaborative research is not sufficient. Not only the internal management system of public research institute, universities or government support R&D centers, are not enough, but also the legislations in government level are not established. In this paper, the problems and situations of product management system in international collaborative research are investigated and analyzed, and the methodology of improvement of them are presented.

  • Today enterprises are bringing forward the strong needs for the Global Work Space that is able to realize the collaboration of the virtual enterprise in order to achieve the rapid entrance to market, the quality improvement as well as the cost reduction of their new products. Especially, they are building the efficient Product Management Infrastructure in parallel with the real-time knowledge management for the information generated in the course of a product lifecycle and the Process Innovation making the Concurrent Engineering possible. Building a system in the web environment cannot be the entire effort to realize the Global Work Space within an enterprise that is an essential factor for the reduction of a product development period which in turn contributes to Time to Market. Various work models and processes are found in enterprises and many different application programs are developed and utilized to support these. This study proposes a scheme for the optimized Collaborative Workflow System Architecture that is able to take in and apply various application programs accompanied by the product development work process. Through this, we are to examine various limits and problems existing in the real-time collaborative system between enterprises and to reform these.

Analyses of Expert Group on the 4th Industrial Revolution: The Perspective of Product Lifecycle Management (4차 산업혁명에 관한 전문가그룹 분석: 제품수명주기관리의 관점에서)

  • The smart factory is an important axis of the 4th industrial revolution. Smart factory is a system that induces the maximum efficiency and effectiveness of production using the IoT and intelligent sensing systems. The product lifecycle management technique is a method that can actively reflect the consumer's requirements in the smart factory and manage the entire process from the consumer to the post management. There have been many studies on product lifecycle management, but studies on how to organize product lifecycle management knowledge domains in preparation for the era of the 4th industrial revolution were insufficient. This study analyzed the opinions of a group of experts preparing for the 4th industrial revolution in terms of product lifecycle management. The impact of the 4th industrial revolution on the detailed knowledge areas of product lifecycle management was investigated. The changes in product lifecycle management were summarized using a qualitative data analysis technique for a group of experts. Based on the opinions of experts, the product lifecycle management, which consists of a total of 30 detailed knowledge areas, was prepared to supplement or prepare for the 4th industrial revolution. This study investigates changes in product lifecycle management in preparation for the 4th industrial revolution in the knowledge domain of the existing defined product life cycle management. In future research, it is necessary to redefine the knowledge domain of product life cycle management suitable for the era of the 4th industrial revolution and investigate the perception of experts. Considering the social culture and technological change factors of the 4th industrial revolution, the scope and scope of product life cycle management can be newly defined.

Development of a Product Risk Assessment System using Injury Information in Korea Consumer Agency (한국소비자원 위해정보를 활용한 제품 리스크 평가시스템 개발)

  • Recently, safety accidents of daily necessities such as humidifier disinfectant, mobile phones, and infant diapers, have occurred frequently. To protect consumers from these accidents, product safety management is required, and a product risk assessment tool is needed to evaluate the degree of safety of the product. In this paper, we have constructed RAS, which is a system that can evaluate product risk based on injury information of product accident in Korea Consumer Agency. RAS consists of an injury information analysis system for analyzing accident-related information and a risk assessment system for assessing risk using information derived from the system. The Bayesian network - based probabilistic method is applied to reflect the causal relationships that affect product risk in the risk assessment process. We used RAS to evaluate 33 children's products and compared them with the results of EU RAPEX RAG. Subsequent tasks include reducing the subjectivity of the input of the accident impact scale, and linking the above two systems.

  • To achieve rapid developments and ensure competitiveness, cost saving, digital manufacturing is essential in die shops. Digital Manufacturing is a technology to facilitate effective product developments and agile productions by digital environments representing the physical and logical schema and the behavior of real manufacturing system including manufacturing resources, processes and products. For applying digital manufacturing to die shop, engineering information managements of products, manufacturing process and resources are needed. In this paper proposes and implements, PLM approach for achieving engineering collaborations in engineering activities. We suggest detail procedures, some examples and considerations of PPR managements in die shop.

  • 현재 CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing)을 구축하려고 하는 많은 기업들이 기업의 모든 기능을 정보기술을 이용하여 통합해 나가려는 움직임을 보이고 있다. CIM의 기능을 경영, 설계, 생산의 세 기능으로 구분할 경우 경영부문과 생산부문은 MIS, MRP-II 등을 이용하여 통합단계로 나가는 것이 가능하나 설계부문은 상대적으로 데이타의 구조가 복잡하고 CAD/CAM등 사용되는 시스템도 다양하기 때문에 통합하는 것이 비교적 어려웠다. 그러나 최근에 동시설계(Concurrent Engineering)기법과 PDM(Product Data Management) 기술의 향상에 따라 설계의 기획부터 양산 직전까지의 설계업무 전체를 통합화하는 것이 가능하게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 Product Data의 정의와 관리방법(PDM)을 체계화 시키고 이 개념을 설계업무 전반에 적용할 경우 동시설계(Concurrent Engineering)가 가능하도록 Engineering Information System의 구조와 구축방법을 제시하였다.

  • In complex industrial world, many companies make every effort to analyze their competition capability through various performance evaluation tools to cope with rapidly changing business environment. Among evaluation tools the balanced scorecard (BSC), put forward by Kaplan and Norton in 1992, is a strategic performance management tool for measuring whether the smaller-scale operational activities of a company are aligned with its larger-scale objectives in terms of vision and strategy. The BSC tool offers a comparative advantage over others to evaluate the objective achievement of a company by linking its strategic objectives with operational KPI. In this paper, we introduce a case that the BSC performance evaluation system was implemented based on product data management and applied it to the business process. Specially, we shows a implementation procedure to derive discipline-specific topics and key performance metrics.
