XML Topic Map을 이용한 Product Configuration 지식 교환에 관한 연구 (XTM based Knowledge Exchanges for Product Configuration Modeling)

  • Modeling product configurations needs large amounts of knowledge about technical and marketing restrictions on the product. Previous attempts to automate product configurations concentrate on representations and management of the knowledge for specific domains in fixed and isolated computing environments. Since the knowledge about product configurations is subject to continuous change and hard to express, these attempts often failed to efficiently manage and exchange the knowledge in collaborative product development. In this paper, XML Topic Map (XTM) is introduced to represent and exchange the knowledge about product configurations in collaborative product development. A product configuration model based on XTM along with its merger and inference facilities enables configuration engineers In collaborative product development to manage and exchange their knowledge efficiently. An implementation of the proposed product configuration model is presented to demonstrate that the proposed approach enables enterprises to exchange the knowledge about product configurations during their collaborative product development.

  • In order to satisfy customers'various needs in the market, manufacturing companies tend to add similar variants to an existing product model. This variety causes immense growth of product configuration and makes data management uncontrollable. In order to resolve this problem, we propose a method to efficiently represent the variants in a single schema of product structure and configuration and manage the product configuration. First of all, the product structure which adopts the concept of features and options is suggested. Second, the method to represent option specifications which restricts option configurations is proposed. Finally, the prototype module, which inspects if a product configuration violates the option specifications, is introduced.

  • Many manufacturers define the system of a new product flexibility, and take advantage of previous-product information using the product configuration concept. Product configuration is an approach that defines the system of a new product centered on the product structure by referring to the previous-product information. In this paper, it is established how to apply the concept of a product configuration utilizing previous-ships information in construction cost estimation process systematically and effectively. For this, we define the advanced-construction cost estimation process based on a naval ship product model, and design construction cost estimating model. It is validated that this process and model have the applicability through the case study of the construction cost estimating of the mine-warfare ship.

  • Configuration is a set of building block processes, a series of selection and combining parts or components which composes a whole thing. A whole thing could be such a configurable object as manufacturing product, network system, financial portfolio, system development plan, project team, etc. Configuration problem could happen during any phase of product life cycle: design, production, sales, installation, and maintenance. Configuration has long been one of cost and time consuming work, because only high salaried technical experts on product and components can do configuration. Rework for error adjustments of configurations at later process causes far much cost and time, so accurate configuration is required. Under the on-line electronic commerce environment, configuration problem solving becomes more important, because component-based sales should be done automatically on the merchant web site. Automated product search, order placement, order fulfillment and payment make that manual configuration is no longer feasible. Automated configuration means that all the constraints among components should be checked and confirmed by configuration engine automatically. In addition, technical constraints and customer preferences like price range and a specific function required should be considered. This paper gives an brief overview of configuration problems: characteristics, representation paradigms, and solving algorithms and introduce CRSP(Constraint and Rule Satisfaction Problem) method. CRSP method adopts both constraint and rule for configuration domain knowledge representation. A survey and analysis on web sites adopting configuration functions are provided. Future directions of configuration for EC is discussed in the three aspects: methodology itself, companies adopting configuration function, and electronic commerce industry.

제품자료관리와 소프트웨어구성관리 통합 (An Integration of Product Data Management and Software Configuration Mangement)

  • This paper introduces an integration of Product Data Management (PDM) and Software Configuration Management (SCM). PDM and SCM have supported development of mechanical products and software products respectively. The importance of software components in the current products increases rapidly since the software enables the products to satisfy various customer requirements efficiently. Therefore the current product development needs enhanced product data management that can control both the hardware and software data seamlessly. This paper proposes an extended product data model for integrating SCM into PDM. The extension enables PDM document management to support the version control for software development. It also enables engineers to control both the software and hardware parts as integrated data objects during product configuration and engineering change management. The proposed model is implemented by using a commercial Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system and a development of a network based robot system is tested by the implemented product development environment.

  • 소프트웨어 제품라인공학은 재사용성에 초점을 맞추어 소프트웨어의 높은 품질과 생산성을 만족시킬 수 있는 방법으로 제안되었다. 소프트웨어 제품라인에서 제품 구성 방법은 휘처모델로부터 주어진 제품을 위해 가장 최선의 휘처와 휘처속성을 선택해 나가는 프로세스이다. 성공적인 제품 개발을 위해서는 제품의 목표를 달성할 수 있는 휘처와 휘처 속성을 선택하는 것이 중요하다. 하지만 수천개의 휘처와 휘처 속성이 존재하는 경우에는 최적의 제품 구성을 하는 것이 매우 어렵다. 그렇기에 본 연구에서는 휘처와 휘처 속성간의 관계를 기반으로 제품의 목표를 달성하게 하는 휘처와 휘처 속성의 구성 조합을 찾는 휘처 구성 방법을 제안하여, 보다 정확한 제품의 목표 달성에 기여하는 휘처 구성이 될 수 있도록 한다.

  • In order to care about preserving the environment for future generations, each country has been required to make the laws of the environment. So car manufacturers must design, manufacture and sell cars and trucks that meet customer's need and must do this while meeting the needs of the environment. In this research we have developed product structure and configuration management system that treats electronic catalogs for recycling of automobile parts. This research focused on two system. One is XML-based electronic catalog that give the information about recycling of automobile parts. The other is product structure and configuration management system based on electronic catalog.

  • 특성 모델(Feature Model)은 소프트웨어 제품 라인 개발 시 도메인 공학 단계에서 제품들 사이의 공통된 개념들과 서로 다른 개념들을 모델링하는데 널리 사용된다. 특성 모델로부터 특정 제품에 포함될 특성들을 선택한 결과를 특성 구성(Feature Configuration)이라고 하며, 이것은 특정 제품에 대한 요구 사항을 나타낸다. 현재 소프트웨어 제품 라인 개발 시 특성 모델과 특성 구성을 어떻게 구축하고 이용하는지에 대한 연구는 많이 되어 있지만, 이들에 대한 정형적 시맨틱과 논리적 추론에 대한 연구는 부족하다. 본 논문에서는 소프트웨어 제품 라인 공학에서의 표준 문제로 제안된 Graph Product Line을 예제로 하여 규칙 기반 시스템인 JESS를 이용한 특성 구성 검증 기법을 제안한다. 본 논문의 기법은 특성 구성의 불일치성을 일으키는 원인을 명확히 제시하는 장점을 가지며, 자바 언어와의 결합성이 뛰어난 JESS 시스템에 기반을 두었기 때문에 다른 소프트웨어 제품 라인 개발 환경과 쉽게 통합될 수 있다.

상호작용을 고려한 최적의 제품휘처형상 도출 방법 (A Method for Deriving an Optimal Product Feature Configuration Considering Feature Interaction)

  • 많은 소프트웨어 프로덕트 라인 공학 방법들은 휘처모델을 사용하여 제품들 간의 공통성과 가변성을 휘처 단위로 구조화시키고, 특정 제품 개발을 위해 필요한 휘처 집합인 제품휘처형상을 도출한다. 제품 생산 시에 선택될 휘처는 주로 제품의 요구되는 품질 속성에 의해서 결정된다. 지금까지 발표된 대부분의 방법들은 휘처와 품질속성 간의 선형적 상관관계를 통해 최적의 품질 속성을 만족시킬 수 있는 제품휘처형상을 도출하였다. 하지만, 휘처 간의 상호작용을 고려한다면 휘처와 품질 속성 간의 관계는 비선형식으로 정의될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 휘처 간의 상호작용을 고려하여 요구되는 품질 속성을 최적으로 만족시킬 수 있는 제품휘처형상 도출 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법을 평가하기 위해 네 가지 프로덕트 라인 사례에 대해 실험한다.

  • The activities of managing and controlling the configuration of a system component over its life cycle are critical tasks in developing a high safety system as well as general system development. These configuration management activities should be defined through the management plan at the beginning of the life cycle, and should be performed continuously and systematically until the end of the project after the system or product development is completed. In this study, the configuration management process applied in the development of high safety railway signaling system was introduced and an efficient application proposals of it was proposed. In particular, configuration management through the establishment of a configuration management system based on computer tools is one of the important activities of maintaining the configuration integrity of the system or product.
