Scientists in the National Institute of Environmental Research had carried out air and precipitation sampling. According to the data analysed, the acidity (pH) measured was in the range of 3.7 $\sim$ 5.5. Detailed analysis indicated that observed acid rain was associated with westerlies generally coming out of the mainland of China and with a cyclone formed therein. Emission of air pollution from Korea and Japan also appeared to contribute in the observed high acidity in some cases. The one of chief reasons for the occurrence of acid rain in the west coast of Korea was due to the increase in the total emission of air pollution in China. In 1990, China was the world's top producer of coal amounting in 1.05 B tons with an annual increase of 10%, and the produced 100 M tons of crude oil. $SO_2$ emission from all energy usage in China was estimated at 25 $\sim$ 50 M ton per year.

Strain JV3 was isolated from commercial Swiss cheese products and identified as a bacteriocin producer, which has bactericidal activity against Leuconostoc mesenteroides KCCM 11324. Strain JW3 was identified tentatively as Lactococcus lactis by the API test. The activity of lacticin JW3, named tentatively as the bacteriocin produced by Lactococcus lactis JW3, was detected during the mid-log growth phase, and reached a maximum during the early stationary phase, and decreased after the late stationary phase. Its antimicrobial activity on sensitive indicator cells was completely disappeared by protease IV. The inhibitory activities of lacticin JW3 were detected during treatments of up to $121\'^{circ}C$ for 15 min. Lacticin JW3 was very stable over a pH range of 2.0 to 9.0 The apparent molecular mass of lacticin JW3 was estimated to be in the region of 3-3.5kDa, which was determined by the direct detection of bactericidal activity after SDS-PAGE.

In this Paper are described the indirect induction heated boiler and induction heated hot air producer using the voltage-fed series resonant high-frequency inverter which can operate in the frequency range from 20kHz to 50kHz. A specially designed induction heater, which is composed of laminated stainless assembly with many tiny holes and interconnected spot welding points between stainless plates, is inserted into the ceramic type vessel with external working coil. This working coil is connected to the inverter and turbulence fluid through this induction heater to moving fluid generates in the vessel. The operating performances of this unique appliance in next generation and its effectiveness are evaluated and discussed from a practical point of view.

Food is very important for human being. It is not easy for us to enjoy good life because the situation of food is not good in Korea. The self-sufficient food rate is very low and most of food which we take was produced by industrial agriculture. Food of this kind has some problems with respect to the health of consumer, agriculture, environment and community. In order to secure the true food which is safe and environmentally sound, producers, consumers and community have to work together. Producers must engage in environmental agriculture. They must produce the true food and need to know regional consumers. Consumers must pay attention to the regional agriculture and must participate the production of true food. Local government must open farmers' markets for direct marketing between farmers and consumers. NGOs should educate and organize the producers and consumers.

This paper proposes a method for determining optimal EDM parameters based on discharge area from the physical model of a tool electrode. Main parameters, which affect the EDM performance, are peak value of currents, pulse-on time, and pulse-off time. Such parameters are closely dependent on the discharge area in EDM process. In this paper the discharge area is estimated from the CMM scanning data to the tool electrode. The method is very useful when any geometric information to the tool electrode is not provided from tool modeler or producer. The method consists of following four steps. First a triangulation mesh is constructed from the CMM data. Secondly, the z-map is modeled from the triangulated mesh. Thirdly, the discharge area is estimated from intersection between the z-map model and a z-height plane. Finally, the machining parameters are easily calculated by some known EDM equations to the discharge area. An example is introduced to show that the machining parameters are calculated from the CMM data to a tool electrode.

The objective of this study was to estimate the quantitative loss of the consumer surplus due to the tariffs on clothing imports during the WTO starting periods. For 1984-1996, the import price elasticity of the clothing was estimated from the regression of pet capita clothing imports on Per capita GNP, import price index and domestic producer price index. Then the quantitative losses of the consumer surplus in clothing were obtained from the simplified formula for 1990-1995. In spite of the decrease in textiles St clothing tariff rates, consumer costs were increasing, which was caused by the tremendous increase in clothing imports during the same period. The loss of the consumer surplus was 7131 billion wonts in 1995, which accounted for 6.4% of the total clothing expenditure.

Fiber laser welding was performed on SUS Materials metal bellows. The results can be summarized as follows: When we tried to change welding focus location. we get the best welding line when focus location placed 0mm. In product welding, We could make a satisfactory product in constant area by applying optimized conditions and show a table that is able to help producer easily to apply it to manufacturing. In comparison with existing TIG and plasma welding, welded bellows by fiber laser has faster processing speed, smaller thermal effect, very narrow welding area and fine surface.

본 연구의 목적은 농산물 이력추적 시스템을 사용하는 생산자들의 시스템에 대한 만족과 지속적인 사용의도에 영향을 주는 요인을 파악하여 농산물 이력추적 시스템의 활성화를 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 것이다. 실증적인 검증을 위하여 재사용의도와 관련한 선행연구들을 검토하여 TAM과 ECT를 결합시킨 Extended ECT 모델을 제안하고 실제 농산물 이력추적 사업에 시범참여하고 있는 생산자 100명을 상대로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 지각된 유용성 및 용이성, 수익성은 시스템 만족에 긍정적인 영향을 미치며 이는 지속적인 사용의도로 연결되었으나 지각된 용이성과 유용성이 직접적으로 지속적인 사용의도에 영향을 미치는 것은 아닌 것으로 나타났다. 이 결과는 농산물 외의 식품 이력추적 시스템에도 포괄적으로 적용이 가능하다.

This study analyzed consumer attitude, habit strength, subjective norm, a pros evaluation, and intention to consume to estimate perceptible variables that affect apple consumption. Data were collected from 207 men and women through a selfadministrated questionnaire. A partial least squares regression was conducted as one of structural equation models to estimate and test hypotheses. The results showed that attitude, habit strength, and the pros evaluation affected the intention to consume apples, and that the intention increased apple consumption. The results also showed that some marketing strategies are needed to promote apple consumption and to make consumers change their intention, to develop habits for eating apples by changing their diets, and to impress upon them that apples are good for health. This can be interpreted as meaning that it is most important to understand consumer behavior, particularly consumer psychology, which is reflected in the recent trend of marketing that concentrates on meeting the consumer's needs rather than the producer's.
