Remote Measurement for Automobile′s ECU Diagnostic Signals based on the PDA (PDA 기반의 차량 진단신호의 원격 계측)

  • In this paper, we present a new method for monitoring of ECU's self diagnostic signals of vehicle without wire. In order to measure the ECU's self diagnostic signals, the interfaced circuit is designed to communicate ECU and a designed display terminal according to the ISO, SAE regulation of communication protocol standard. A 80C196KC processor is used for communicating ECU's self diagnostic signals and the results are sent to PDA monitoring system. Software on PDA is developed to monitor the ECU's self diagnostic signals using the Embedded Visual C++ compiler in which RS232 port is programmed by half duplex method. The algorithms for measuring the ECU's self diagnostic signals are verified to monitor ECU's state. At the same time, the information to fix the vehicle's problem can be shown on the developed PDA software. The possibility for remote measurement of ECU self diagnostic signal using PDA is also verified through the developed systems and algorithms.

  • In this paper. we present a new method for monitoring of ECU's self diagnostic signals of vehicle without wire. In order to measure the ECU's self diagnostic signals, the interfaced circuit is designed to communicate ECU and designed terminal according to the IOS, SAE regulation of communication protocol standard. Micro-processor 80C196KC is used for communicating ECU's self diagnositc signals and the results are sent to the wireless terminal and PC monitoring system. Wireless terminal is also developed by 80C196KC, LCD, RF module, and keypad. The command from the keypad is sent to ECU through RF module and the result show on the Graphic LCD in real time. Software on PC is developed to monitor the ECU's self diagnostic signals using the Visual C++ complier in which RS232 port is programmed by half duplex method. The algorithms for measuring the ECU's self diagnostic signals are verified to monitor both ECU and portable terminal state. At the same time, the information to fix the vehicle's problem can be shown on the developed software. The possibility for remote measurement of ECU self diagnostic signal is verified through the developed systems and algorithms.

  • We have implemented image monitoring system on PXA255 processor based embedded board that is ported QT/Embedded 2.3.7 version. User is able to monitor camera's capture image for widely separated host PC at client PXA255 board target board by ethernet communication method. And we designed PCI interface card that control motor for camera's Pan & Tilt. Bitmap format's images of $320\times{240}$ size are displayed on PXA255 board's TFT-LCD and User is able to monitor wanted position's image by touch screen input method.

  • This paper shows a satellite battery cell voltage monitor system to make differential voltage measurements when one or both measurement points are beyond voltage range allowed by a conventional differential amplifier. This system is particularly useful for monitoring the individual cell voltage of series-connected cells that constitute a rechargeable satellite battery in which some cell voltages must be measured in the presence of high common mode voltage.

  • Start The current paper proposes an improved HD(High Definition) monitor that can support a signal input with various resolutions. Due to the inadequate performance of the built-in digital PLL(Phase-locked Loop) of an ADC(Analog to Digital Converter) and poor tolerance of ADC ICs, there are problems in the stable processing of synchronization signals with various input signals. Accordingly, the proposed synchronization signal optimization technique regenerates the horizontal synchronization signal in the vertical blanking interval based on the regularity of the synchronization signal, i.e. the timing of the falling edge signal remains constant, thereby solving the above problem and minimizing the interference of the system. As a result, the proposed system can stabilize various synchronization signals with different resolution modes.

  • We designed, developed and characterized a multi-segmented tissue equivalent proportional (TEPC) counter for microdosimetry. The energy resolution of the multi-segmented TEPC was about 12% for $^{241}Am$ 5.45 MeV alpha particles. The resolution was better than 33% for a single un-segmented TEPC. A compact and low power consumption TEPC could be made by using digital pulse processor (DPP). We also successfully calibrated the TEPC by using $^{252}Cf$ standard neutron source in Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS). According to the results, the TEPC is useful for several application of radiation monitoring such as a neutron monitor, air crew monitor and space dosimeter.

  • This paper propose the methods for input systems which can save video inputs from multic in PC environment. For 3-D display the input data from 4 channels are sequentially disp turn with the speed of 4 times faster than one channels. The system consists of 4 cameras, monitor for monitoring the input process. an input processor, and a monitor which can dis data with the speed of 120f㎰. This paper also discusses the operation of the system and st requirements of the system. The circuit of the proposed system is verified using PSpice simulation.

  • Flight control systems installed on unmanned aircraft require thorough verification from the design stage. This verification is made through the integrated flight control test environment. Typically, a debugger is used to monitor the internal state of a flight control computer in real time. Emulator with a real-time memory monitor and trace is relatively expensive. The JTAG Emulator is unable to operate in real time and has limitations that cannot be caught up with the processing speed of latest high-speed processors. In this paper, we describe the results of the development of internal monitoring software for drone flight control computer processors based on NUTTX/PIXHAWK. The results of this study show that the functions provided compared to commercial debugger are limited, but it can be sufficiently used to verify the flight control system using this system under limited budget.

A Performance Evaluation on Classic Mutual Exclusion Algorithms for Exploring Feasibility of Practical Application (실제 적용 타당성 탐색을 위한 고전적 상호배제 알고리즘 성능 평가)

  • The mutual exclusion is originally based on the theory of race condition prevention in symmetric multi-processor operating systems. But recently, due to the generalization of multi-core processors, its application range has been rapidly shifted to parallel processing application domain. POSIX thread, WIN32 thread, and Java thread, which are typical parallel processing application development environments, provide a unique mutual exclusion mechanism for each of them. Applications that are very sensitive to performance in these environments may want to reduce the burden of mutual exclusion, even at some cost, such as inconvenience of coding. In this study, we implement Dekker's and Peterson's algorithm in the form of busy-wait and processor-yield in various platforms, and compare the performance of them with the built-in mutual exclusion mechanisms to evaluate the usability of the classic algorithms. The analysis result shows that Dekker's algorithm of processor-yield type is superior to the built-in mechanisms in POSIX and WIN32 thread environments at least 2 times and up to 70 times, and confirms that the practicality of the algorithm is sufficient.

  • The automation system uses PLC to monitor the manufacturing process status of the production product and processes the sensor information transmitted from the sensor. In this paper, we propose a remote surveillance system to monitor the status of control relay used in automation system. The proposed system consists of a control relay module, a one-chip processor module, a computer monitoring system, and a database system that inputs and manages the details of the control relay. The computer monitoring system is configured to monitor the operating condition and life time of the control relay. The database is configured so that the input date of the control relay can be input and corrected, and the operating state information of the control relay can be automatically printed. In the remote monitoring system, the failure status of the control relay is recognized in real time, and the time required for normal operation can be minimized by quickly replacing faulty parts.
