  • Currently, it is usually a 3D scanner processing method as a laser method. However, the laser method has a disadvantage of slow scanning speed and poor precision. Although optical scanners are used as a method to compensate for these shortcomings, optical scanners are closely related to the distance and precision of the object, and have the disadvantage of being expensive. In this paper, 3D scanner using variable focus lens-based structured light module with improved measurement precision was designed to be high performance, low price, and usable in industrial fields. To this end, designed a telecentric optical system based on a variable focus lens and connected to the telecentric mechanism of the step motor and lens to adjust the focus of the variable lens. Designed a connection structure with optimized scalability of hardware circuits that configures a stepper motor to form a system with a built-in processor. In addition, by applying an algorithm that can simultaneously acquire high-resolution texture image and depth information and apply image synthesis technology and GPU-based high-speed structured light processing technology, it is also stable for changes to external light. We will designed and implemented for further improving high measurement precision.

  • Characteristics of fruit tree canopies are important target information for adjusting the pesticide application rate in variable rate spraying in orchards. Therefore, the target detection of the canopy characteristics is very important. In this study, a canopy volume measurement method for peach trees was presented and a variable rate spraying system based on canopy volume measurement was developed using the ultrasonic sensing, one of the most effective target detection method. Ten ultrasonic sensors and two flow control units were mounted on the orchard air-assisted sprayer. The ultrasonic sensors were used to detect the canopy diameters and the flow controls were used to modify the flow rate of the nozzles in real time. Two treatments were established: a constant application rate of $300Lha^{-1}$ was set as the control treatment for the comparison with the variable rate application at a $0.095Lm^{-3}$ canopy. The tracer deposition at different parts of peach trees and the tracer losses to the ground (between rows and within rows) were analyzed in detail under constant rate and variable rate application. The results showed that there were no significant differences between two treatments in the liquid distribution and the capability to reach the inner parts of the crop canopies.

  • Existing XML-based variable data publishing, in which a user has to manually prepare and edit template rules, is rather difficult for general users to create documents. Especially when processing large variable XML documents such as manuals or technical documents, fast document formatting is required to provide fast response speed for editing, which the existing batch processing cannot provide. This paper proposes a variable data publishing system with dynamic editing and formatting function, which support fast formatting upon user's request for large volume documents as well as for template editing through interaction by displaying the result of template-based variable documents on WYSIWYG screen. Proposed system can be effectively used for creating customized documents with many variable data that can be changed according to individual characteristics such as individual, company or area; source documents, template documents and formatted documents adopt XML, XSLT and XPath standards suggested by W3C, which facilitates extension to web document processing system.

  • In this paper, variable threshold estimation algorithm for multiple vehicle detection RADAR is proposed and realized by using DSP for real time processing. The algorithm is developed to get the information of velocity and length of vehicles in multiple lanes by using FMCW RADAR. For real time operation, signal processing part is realized with a high speed DSP board to detect and manipulate the vehicle data and some experimental results are given to show the usefulness of the proposed technique.

  • In push out scheme, high priority cell which arrives when the buffer is full pushs low priority cell. The PBS scheme provides priority by variable threshold in buffer. In this paper, for Controlling congestion in ATM network we propose buffer processing method in which the PBS scheme has variable threshold. And we analysis The performance of this scheme. As a result of simulation, the proposed push out scheme with variable threshold reduces the loss of low priority cell compared with existing push out scheme. This proposed method not only reduces the loss of high priority cell like existing push out scheme but also reduces the loss of low priority cell by variable threshold.

  • This paper suggests a fuzzy variable structure control scheme for Takagi-Sugeno(T-S) fuzzy model and presents the attitude control of the wheel-driven inverted pendulum(WDIP) based on the proposed control algorithm. The proposed controller is designed based on the T-S fuzzy modeling of nonlinear system and the unification of gain matrices in linear subsystems that constitute the overall fuzzy model. The uncertainties generated in the gain matrix unifying procedure can be interpreted as the input disturbances of the conventional variable structure control. These unifying disturbances can be resolved by using the robustness property of the conventional variable structure system. Design example for wheel-driven inverted pendulum demonstrates the utility and validity of the proposed control scheme.

  • This paper proposes a weighted least-squares(WLS) method for designing variable one-dimensional (1-D) FIR digital filters with simultaneously variable magnitude and variable non-integer phase-delay responses. First, the coefficients of a variable FIR filter are represented as the two-dimensional (2-D) polynomials of a pair of spectral parameters: one is for tuning the magnitude response, and the other is for varying its non-integer phase-delay response. Then the optimal coefficients of the 2-D polynomials are found by minimizing the total weighted squared error of the variable frequency response. Finally, we show that the resulting variable FIR filter can be implemented in a parallel form, which is suitable for high-speed signal processing.

  • We present applications of clustering methods to detect variability in massive astronomical time series data. Focusing on variability of bright stars, we use clustering methods to separate possible variable sources from other time series data, which include intrinsically non-variable sources and data with common systematic patterns. We already finished the analysis of the Northern Sky Variability Survey data, which include about 16 million light curves, and present candidate variable sources with their association to other data at different wavelengths. We also apply our clustering method to the light curves of bright objects in the SuperWASP Data Release 1. For the analysis of the SuperWASP data, we exploit a elastically configurable Cloud computing environments that the KISTI Supercomputing Center is deploying. Two quite different configurations are incorporated in our Cloud computing test bed. One system uses the Hadoop distributed processing with its distributed file system, using distributed processing with data locality condition. Another one adopts the Condor and the Lustre network file system. We present test results, considering performance of processing a large number of light curves, and finding clusters of variable and non-variable objects.

  • In this paper we propose a new subspace tracking algorithm based on the PASTd (Projection Approximation Subspace Tracking with deflation). The algorithm is obtained via introducing the variable forgetting factor which adapts itself to the time-varying subspace environments. The tracking capability of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated by computer simulations in an abruptly changing DOA scenario. The estimation results of the variable forgetting factor PASTd(VFF-PASTd) outperform those of the PASTd in the nonstationary case as well as in the stationary case.
