In this paper, we propose an automatic method for setting data constraints of a data cleansing service, which is for managing the quality of data exchanged between composite services based on SOA(Service-Oriented Architecture) and enables to minimize human intervention during the process. Because it is impossible to deal with all kinds of real-world data, we focus on business data (i.e. costumer order, order processing) which are frequently used in services such as CRM(Customer Relationship Management) and ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning). We first generate an extended-element vector by extending semantics of data exchanged between composite services and then build a rule-based system for setting data constraints automatically using the decision tree learning algorithm. We applied this rule-based system into the data cleansing service and showed the automation rate over 41% by learning data from multiple registered services in the field of business.

Underwater noise pollution has a significant impact on the marine environment. This study proposed a simple approach to estimate the acoustic radiation efficiency of structures with air bubble layers. The method considered the insertion loss caused by the air bubble layer through post-processing of numerical results, assuming that insertion loss is equivalent to attenuation as demonstrated by previous studies. The proposed approach was validated by comparing it with a fully coupled analysis for plate structure models. The commercial finite element program COMSOL Multiphysics was used for the acoustic-structure interaction analysis, and the acoustic characteristics of air bubble layer for the fully coupled analysis was simulated by on the Commander and Prosperetti theory. The trends indicated good agreement between the simple approach and the fully coupled analysis in terms of radiation efficiency. It is confirmed that the proposed method is providing insight into the principal mechanism of underwater noise reduction for the bubble layer on the wedge-shaped structure.

When the source waveform is unknown, the Green's function can be estimated by Ray-based Blind Deconvolution (RBD) based on the simple array signal processing. In previous papers, RBD was successfully demonstrated using simulation and experiments in shallow water environment. In this paper, we investigate the applicability of RBD for a long-range communication (e.g., 30 km, 60 km, and 90 km) in a deep water environment (1,000 m ~), using experimental data conducted in the east of Pohang, South Korea, in October 2018. Data results are presented to demonstrate Green's function estimation of a communication signal (2.2 kHz ~ 2.9 kHz) using a 16-element, 42-m long vertical array. The results show that the Green's function estimated from RBD is comparable to that of matched filter result. Additional communication performance at a maximum range of 90 km will be also presented.

The degrees of freedom (DOFs) of high-rise structures increase rapidly due to the need for refined analysis, which poses a challenge toward a computationally efficient method for numerical analysis of high-rise structures using the finite element method (FEM). This paper presented an efficient iterative method, an algebraic multigrid (AMG) with a Jacobi overrelaxation smoother preconditioned conjugate gradient method (AMG-CG) used for solving large-scale structural system equations running on heterogeneous platforms with parallel accelerator graphics processing units (GPUs) enabled. Furthermore, an AMG-CG FEM application framework was established for the numerical analysis of high-rise structures. In the proposed method, the coarsening method, the optimal relaxation coefficient of the JOR smoother, the smoothing times, and the solution method for the coarsest grid of an AMG preconditioner were investigated via several numerical benchmarks of high-rise structures. The accuracy and the efficiency of the proposed FEM application framework were compared using the mature software Abaqus, and there were speedups of up to 18.4x when using an NVIDIA K40C GPU hosted in a workstation. The results demonstrated that the proposed method could improve the computational efficiency of solving structural system equations, and the AMG-CG FEM application framework was inherently suitable for numerical analysis of high-rise structures.

This paper proposes a four-stage algorithm for detecting lanes on a driving car. In the first stage, it extracts region of interests in an image. In the second stage, it employs a median filter to remove noise. In the third stage, a binary algorithm is used to classify two classes of backgrond and foreground of an input image. Finally, an image erosion algorithm is utilized to obtain clear lanes by removing noises and edges remained after the binary process. However, the proposed lane detection algorithm requires high computational time. To address this issue, this paper presents a parallel implementation of a real-time line detection algorithm on a multi-core architecture. In addition, we implement and simulate 8 different processing element (PE) architectures to select an optimal PE architecture for the target application. Experimental results indicate that 40×40 PE architecture show the best performance, energy efficiency and area efficiency.

The study presents a new hybrid data-driven method by combining radial basis functions neural networks (RBF-NN) with the Jaya algorithm (JA) to provide effective structural health monitoring of arch dams. The novelty of this approach lies in that only one user-defined parameter is required and thus can increase its effectiveness and efficiency, as compared to other machine learning techniques that often require processing a large amount of training and testing model parameters and hyper-parameters, with high time-consuming. This approach seeks rapid damage detection in arch dams under dynamic conditions, to prevent potential disasters, by utilizing the RBF-NNN to seamlessly integrate the dynamic elastic modulus (DEM) and modal parameters (such as natural frequency and mode shape) as damage indicators. To determine the dynamic characteristics of the arch dam, the JA sequentially optimizes an objective function rooted in vibration-based data sets. Two case studies of hyperbolic concrete arch dams were carefully designed using finite element simulation to demonstrate the effectiveness of the RBF-NN model, in conjunction with the Jaya algorithm. The testing results demonstrated that the proposed methods could exhibit significant computational time-savings, while effectively detecting damage in arch dam structures with complex nonlinearities. Furthermore, despite training data contaminated with a high level of noise, the RBF-NN and JA fusion remained the robustness, with high accuracy.
The original elastoplastic Hardening Soil model is formulated actually partly under hexagonal pyramidal Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion, and can be only used in specific stress paths. It must be completely generalized under Mohr-Coulomb criterion before its usage in engineering practice. A set of generalized constitutive equations under this criterion, including shear and volumetric yield surfaces and hardening laws, is proposed for Hardening Soil model in principal stress space. On the other hand, a Mohr-Coulumb type yield surface in principal stress space comprises six corners and an apex that make singularity for the normal integration approach of constitutive equations. With respect to the isotropic nature of the material, a technique for processing these singularities by means of Koiter's rule, along with a transforming approach between both stress spaces for both stress tensor and consistent stiffness matrix based on spectral decomposition method, is introduced to provide such an approach for developing generalized Hardening Soil model in finite element analysis code ABAQUS. The implemented model is verified in comparison with the results after the original simulations of oedometer and triaxial tests by means of this model, for volumetric and shear hardenings respectively. Results from the simulation of oedometer test show similar shape of primary loading curve to the original one, while maximum vertical strain is a little overestimated for about 0.5% probably due to the selection of relationships for cap parameters. In simulation of triaxial test, the stress-strain and dilation curves are both in very good agreement with the original curves as well as test data.
Sustainable energy supplies without the recharging and replacement of the charge storage device have become increasingly important. Among various energy harvesters, the triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) has attracted considerable attention due to its high instantaneous output power, broad selection of available materials, eco-friendly and inexpensive fabrication process, and various working modes customized for target applications. In this study, the amount of voltage and current generated was measured by applying the PSD profile random vibration test of the electronic vibration tester and ISTA 3A according to the time of Anodized Aluminum Oxide (AAO) pore widening of the manufactured TENG device Teflon and AAO. The discharge and charging tests of the integrated module during the random simulated transport environment and the recognition distance of RFID were measured while agricultural products (onion) were loaded into the returnable folding plastic box. As a result, it was found that AAO alumina etching processing time to maximize TENG performance was optimal at 31 min in terms of voltage and current generation, and the integrated module applied with the TENG module showed a charging effect even during the continuous use of RFID, so the voltage was kept constant without discharge. In addition, the RFID recognition distance of the integrated module was measured as a maximum of 1.4 m. Therefore, it was found that the surface condition of AAO, a TENG element, has a great influence on the power generation of the integrated module, and due to the characteristics of TENG, the power generation increases as the surface dries, so it is judged that the power generation can be increased if the surface drying treatment (ozone treatment, etc.) of AAO is applied in the future.
Controlling vibrations and noise in steel box girders is important for reducing noise pollution and avoiding discomfort to residents of dwellings along bridges. The fundamental approach to solving this problem involves first identifying the main path of transmission of the vibration energy and then cutting it off by using targeted measures. However, this requires an investigation of the characteristics of flow of vibration energy in the steel box girder, whereas most studies in the area have focused on analyzing its single-point frequency response and overall vibrations. To solve this problem, this study examines the transmission of vibrations through the segments of a steel box girder when it is subjected to harmonic loads through structural intensity analysis based on standard finite element software and a post-processing code created by the authors. We identified several frequencies that dominated the vibrations of the steel box girder as well as the factors that influenced their emergence. We also assessed the contributions of a variety of vibrational waves to power flow, and the results showed that bending waves were dominant in the top plate and in-plane waves in the vertical plate of the girder. Finally, we analyzed the effects of commonly used stiffened structures and steel-concrete composite structures on the flow of vibration energy in the girder, and verified their positive impacts on energy regionalization. In addition to providing an efficient tool for the relevant analyses, the work here informs research on optimizing steel box girders to reduce vibrations and noise in them.
Global navigation satellite system (GNSS) providing position, navigation and timing (PNT) services consist of satellite, ground, and user systems. Monitoring stations, a key element of the ground segment, play a crucial role in continuously collecting satellite navigation signals for service provision and fault detection. These stations detect anomalies such as threats to the signal-in-space (SIS) of satellites, receiver issues, and local threats. They deliver received data and detection results to the master station. This paper introduces the main monitoring algorithms and measurement pre-processing processes for quality assessment and fault detection of received satellite signals in current satellite navigation system monitoring stations. Furthermore, it proposes a strategy for the development of components, architecture, and algorithms for the new regional navigation satellite system (RNSS) monitoring stations.
