  • Optical emission spectroscopy (OES) is often used for real-time analysis of the plasma processes. OES has been suggested as a primary plasma process monitoring tool. It has the advantage of non-invasive in-situ monitoring capability but selecting the proper wavelengths for the analysis of OES data generally relies on empirically established methods. In this paper, we propose a practical method for the selection of OES wavelength peaks for the analysis of plasma etch process and this is done by investigating reactants and by-product gas species that reside in the plasma etch chamber. Wavelength selection criteria are based on the standard deviation and correlation coefficients. Moreover, chemical actinometry is employed for the normalization of the selected wavelengths. We also present the importance of chemical actinometry of OES data for quantitative analysis of plasma. Then, the suggested OES peak selection method is employed.. This method is used to find out the reason behind abnormal etching of PR erosion during a series of $SiO_2$ etch processes using the same recipe. From the experimental verification, we convinced that OES is not only capable for real-time detection of abnormal plasma process but it is also useful for the analysis of suspicious plasma behavior.

  • The study aims to investigate some criteria of supplier selection in the textile and apparel (T&A) sector in Vietnam. Most research on supplier selection criteria for T&A sector was mainly conducted based on the review of literature. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore these criteria based on a framework in which an integrated approach of qualitative and quantitative was employed. First, an in-depth interview was used to explore what supplier selection criteria T&A companies were utilized after the literature on supplier selection criteria had been reviewed. Next, a prequestionnaire was built and sent to some practitioners and experts for their revision. Then, a pilot survey of 31 T&A companies with numerous statistical tests was conducted to validate the questionnaire. Finally, an official study of 282 respondents was conducted to determine supplier selection criteria which are best suited for T&A companies through exploratory factor analysis. The findings of the study suggest that there are eight supplier selection criteria including Quality, Cost, Delivery, Service, Capability, Company's image, Relationship, and Sourcing country. Each criterion comprises certain sub-criteria to make the supplier selection criteria set more comprehensive. The findings will be a contribution to the selection process of T&A companies as they can utilize these criteria to select capable suppliers.

  • The objective of this paper is to develop a model to integrate process planning and resource planning through analysis of the machine tool selection and operations sequencing problem. The model is formulated as a travelling salesman problem with precedence relations. To solve our model, we also propose an efficient genetic algorithm based on topological sort concept.

  • Is this paper the selection of a set of process plans is considered for a flexible manufacturing systems. This problem arises in the metal working industry when numerical controlled(N/C) machines are used to manufacture parts. In this paper a new concept to reduce the size of problem is proposed. A corresponding Integer programming model is formulated. The model formulated is to minimize corresponding manufacturing cost and minimize the number of tools and auxiliary devices such as fixtures, grippers, and feeders.

  • This paper was studied to present a model for the application of AHP to the selection of airliners. For this study, a questionnaire was developed in respect to the criteria of airliner and given to 80 airline pilots and 30 maintenances in airlines to ask their opinions about the candidates for the middle-range airliners. The AHP software developed by Korean Advanced Institute of Science Technology (KAIST) was used to process the data. The result was analyzed by the criteria of selecting airliners and the several alternatives for the middle-range airliners.

  • This paper is about how to drive a Business Process Management(BPM) implementation project from selecting a target process to BPM deployment. For guidance of BPM implementation, LG CNS BPM Methodology and enPAM(Entrue Process Assessment Model) were used. This paper focuses on the methodology of process selection and presents a case study from the telecommunication industry. The enPAM consists of three major criteria in determining process priority for BPM system deployment: business impact, BPM adequateness and implementation feasibility. These three criteria can be easily modified for other telecommunication business just as we did to suit this telecom case. Moreover, it could provide useful ideas to companies that consider introducing a BPM solution for process management. Although we propose a comprehensive design methodology for selecting a proper target business process for BPM implementation, more work is still needed to extend the results for rigorous and practical method.

  • This paper explores the relationship between technological characteristics within process innovation and selection of the firms of different organizational forms in the evolution of an industry. For this purpose, this paper develops a simulation model for industrial change that replicates dynamic competition for process innovation. The simulation analysis found the following causal relationship. First, the stronger innovation impact in terms of productivity jump tends to enlarge the productivity difference among the incumbent firms and increase the speed of productivity catch-up by the large diversified firms, Second, the possibility of entry, and eventual dominance by the large diversified firms increase when the innovation-productivity linkage is stronger and there is less cumulativeness in productivity determination. These results imply that technological characteristics are important factors that have influence on whether or not the large diversified firms can enter and succeed in an industry.

  • We study how to distinguish the parameters of the sparse autoregressive (AR) process from zero using a non-convex penalized estimation. A class of non-convex penalties are considered that include the smoothly clipped absolute deviation and minimax concave penalties as special examples. We prove that the penalized estimators achieve some standard theoretical properties such as weak and strong oracle properties which have been proved in sparse linear regression framework. The results hold when the maximal order of the AR process increases to infinity and the minimal size of true non-zero parameters decreases toward zero as the sample size increases. Further, we construct a practical method to select tuning parameters using generalized information criterion, of which the minimizer asymptotically recovers the best theoretical non-penalized estimator of the sparse AR process. Simulation studies are given to confirm the theoretical results.

  • It has been studying actively that the process and the methodology for the safety security of the system suggested from international standards and domestic/abroad materials in Korea. However, these process & methodology can generate a lot of errors and deficiencies because the system is applied without considering the system characteristics and its scope (such as hardware, software, interface, etc.). Therefore, the type is defined as the safety process with the basis on general development process in this study, the potential hazards of the mock-up system which is developed are extracted thorough selecting a technique according to each type. In addition to it, the effect is compared and analyzed with various technique selection by each phase of the development process.

  • Companies adopted a program called Six Sigma, in order to make fundamental changes in the way the company operated to fulfill customers' expectations. Six Sigma reduces the occurrence of defects. This approach derives the overall process of selection the right projects based on their potential to improve performance metrics and selection and training the right people to get the business results. However, in the course of Six Sigma process steps, companies are in the face of problems. This study is to solve the problems using TP(Thinking Process) of TOC(Theory of Constraints). TOC is methodology for solving key problem in system which is called Constraints. Nowadays, its application is going to be wide and its concept is being implemented. In this paper, it is showed possibility of application TOC to Six Sigma.
