  • We propose a new distributed QoS routing scheme called pre-computation based selective probing (PCSP). The PCSP scheme is designed to provide an exact solution to the constrained optimization problem with moderate overhead, considering the practical environment where the state information available for the routing decision is not exact. It does not limit the number of probe messages, instead, employs a qualitative (or conditional) selective probing approach. It considers both the cost and QoS metrics of the least-cost and the best-QoS paths to calculate the end-to-end cost of the found feasible paths and find QoS-satisfying least-cost paths. It defines strict probing condition that excludes not only the non-feasible paths but also the non-optimal paths. It additionally pre-computes the QoS variation taking into account the impreciseness of the state information and applies two modified QoS-satisfying conditions to the selection rules. This strict probing condition and carefully designed probing approaches enable to strictly limit the set of neighbor nodes involved in the probing process, thereby reducing the message overhead without sacrificing the optimal properties. However, the PCSP scheme may suffer from high message overhead due to its conservative search process in the worst case. In order to bound such message overhead, we extend the PCSP algorithm by applying additional quantitative heuristics. Computer simulations reveal that the PCSP scheme reduces message overhead and possesses ideal success ratio with guaranteed optimal search. In addition, the quantitative extensions of the PCSP scheme turn out to bound the worst-case message overhead with slight performance degradation.

  • The scope of e-Commerce process becomes wider as the emphasis on the enterprise collaboration grows. It has expanded from its initial settings of order management or billing processes to cover various collaborative processes in the company's value-chain. In order for those collaborative e-Commerce processes to be successful, corresponding business processes should be fully supported by standard bodies. The RosettaNet consortium, one of the most representative international B2B standard bodies, has steadily provided new PIPs to support those expansions. Since individual RosettaNet PIPs correspond to unit tasks that are executed separately in or between companies, multiple PIPs have to be integrally used to properly handle larger business cases. RosettaNet implementation, however, has suffered from the lack of standard guidelines or deliverables to refer under this multi-PIP environment. In this research, a contents-based document routing system is implemented. By applying this routing system to the RosettaNet e-Logistics program where multi-PIP environment is inevitable, we verified our contents-based document routing system is effective to support multi-PIP environment flexibly.

  • This research is to develop a possible process to apply k-means clustering to an efficient vehicle routing process under time varying vehicle moving speeds. Time varying vehicle moving speeds are easy to find in metropolitan area. There is a big difference between the moving time requirements of two specific delivery points. Less delivery times are necessary if a delivery vehicle moves after or before rush hours. Various vehicle moving speeds make the efficient vehicle route search process extremely difficult to find even for near optimum routes due to the changes of required time between delivery points. Delivery area division is designed to simplify this complicated VRPs due to time various vehicle speeds. Certain divided area can be grouped into few adjacent divisions to assume that no vehicle speed change in each division. The vehicle speeds moving between two delivery points within this adjacent division can be assumed to be same. This indicates that it is possible to search optimum routes based upon the distance between two points as regular traveling salesman problems. This makes the complicated search process simple to attack since few local optimum routes can be found and then connects them to make a complete route. A possible method to divide area using k-means clustering is suggested and detailed examples are given with explanations in this paper. It is clear that the results obtained using the suggested process are more reasonable than other methods. The suggested area division process can be used to generate better area division promising improved vehicle route generations.

  • In this paper, we designed and proposed new routing algorithm that can support a variety of vital-sign traffic characteristic and could be applicable to USN for telemedicine by using adaptive transmission power level and increase frequency of routing request message. In proposed routing algorithm, when an emergency vital-sign traffic is applied, we use large transmission power to reduce route query response time and make the priority order in route process. On the other hand, for non emergency vital-sign traffic, we use low transmission power and adaptive decrease frequency of routing request message. which is insensitive to delay. The proposed scheme should be better QoS performance in complex USN than conventional method, which is performed based on uniform transmission power level.

  • DTNs (Delay Tolerant Networks) refer to the networks that can support data transmission in the extreme networking situations such as continuous delay and no connectivity between ends. DTMNs (Delay Tolerant Networks) are a specific range of DTNs, and its chief considerations in the process of message delivery in the routing protocol are the transmission delay, improvement of reliability, and reduction of network loading. This article proposes a new LCN (Largest Common Neighbor) routing algorism to improve Spray and Wait routing protocol that prevents the generation of unnecessary packets in a network by letting mobile nodes limit the number of copies of their messages to all nodes to L. Since higher L is distributed to nodes with directivity to the destination node and the maximum number of common neighbor nodes among the mobile nodes based on the directivity information of each node and the maximum number of common neighbor nodes, more efficient node transmission can be realized. In order to verify this proposed algorism, DTN simulator was designed by using ONE simulator. According to the result of this simulation, the suggested algorism can reduce average delay and unnecessary message generation.

  • Sensors have limited resources in sensor networks, so efficient use of energy is important. In order to use the energy of the sensor node efficiently, researches applying mobile sink to the sensor network have been actively carried out. The sink node moves the sensor network, collects data from each sensor node, which spread the energy concentrated around the sink node, thereby extending the entire life cycle of the network. But, when the sink node moves, it requires a reset of the data transmission path, which causes a lot of control messages and delays. In this paper, we propose a CMS(Cluster-based Mobile Sink) method to support the movement of mobile sink in a cluster sensor environment. The proposed scheme minimizes an amount of control messages without resetting the routing paths of entire sensor networks by supporting the sink mobility path using the neighbor cluster list. And, it simplifies the routing path setup process by setting a single hop path between clusters without a gateway. The experiment results show that the proposed scheme has superior energy efficiency in processing and network structure, compared with existing clustering and mesh routing protocols.

  • Current on-demand ad-hoc routing protocols are not appropriate for wireless mesh networks (WMNs), because flooding-based route discovery is both redundant and expensive in terms of control message overhead. In this paper, we propose an efficient on-demand routing approach with directional flooding (DF), which is suitable for the WMNs with limited mobility. In the route discovery process to reach a gateway, our DF scheme can reduce the number of route request (RREQ) packets broadcast by using a restricted directional flooding technique. Simulation results show that ad hoc on-demand distance vector (AODV) with DF (AODV-DF) can significantly reduce routing overhead by RREQ packets and enhance overall performance compared with the original AODV.

  • The ICS, Intercom is the equipment which mixes and distributes the audio signal from other LRUs and plays the Voice Messages. Henceforth, it is of immense contributory importance to the pilots. Especially, the audio routing, which controls On/Off mode of each audio channel, is significant in executing a pilots' mission. But the audio routing process is quite complicated as it has the interface combination of many control signals. Underthecondition, the exceptional handling becomes difficult, which decreases maintainability and productivity. In the present work, to prevent such a situation, the author suggests amethodology, whichwillhavealower impact when the software is changed and provides high maintainability and productivity for audio routing processing.

  • This paper proposes a load balanced reliable routing protocol called LBR (Load Balanced Reliable routing) in wireless networks. The LBR protocol transmits messages through a reliable path considering the balancing of the traffic load. Recently, the authors have proposed a multipath-based reliable routing protocol called MRFR, which is an appealing protocol for fault tolerant reliable data transmission. However, However, MRFR has no concern with the problem of load balancing, which results in increasing congestion and consuming high energy at some network nodes. As a result, the problem affects negatively the performance of the network. Taking account of load balancing as a route selection criteria can avoid routing through the congested nodes and allows to find better routes. In this paper, we extend MRFR by considering load balancing in the route discovery process of reliable communication. The simulation results showed that the proposed protocol outperforms AODV in terms of end-to-end delay, packet delivery radio, and average jitter. Compared to MRFR, the LBR protocol has the same packet delivery ratio, and obtains a better efficiency of load balancing.

  • Rapid change in network topology in high-speed VANET(: Vehicular Ad Hoc Network) is an important task for routing protocol design. Selecting the next hop relay node that affects the performance of the routing protocol is a difficult process. The disadvantages of AODV(: Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector) related to VANET are end-to-end delay and packet loss. This paper proposes the AAODV (Advanced AODV) technique to reduce the number of RREQ (: Route Request) and RREP (: Route Reply) messages by modifying the AODV routing protocol and adding direction parameters and 2-step filtering. It can be seen that the proposed AAODV reduces packet loss and minimizes the effect of direction parameters, thereby increasing packet delivery rate and reducing end-to-end delay.
