  • Research on the integration of Knowledge Graphs (KGs) and Language Models (LMs) has been consistently explored over the years. However, studies focusing on the automatic generation of text using the structured knowledge from KGs have not been as widely developed. In this study, we propose a methodology for automatically generating specific domain-related research items (Related Work) at a level comparable to existing papers. This methodology involves: 1) selecting optimal prompts, 2) extracting triples through a four-step refinement process, 3) constructing a knowledge graph, and 4) automatically generating related research. The proposed approach utilizes GPT-4, one of the large language models (LLMs), and is desigend to automatically generate related research by applying the four-step refinement process. The model demonstrated performance metrics of 17.3, 14.1, and 4.2 in Triple extraction across #Supp, #Cont, and Fluency, respectively. According to the GPT-4 automatic evaluation criteria, the model's performamce improved from 88.5 points vefore refinement to 96.5 points agter refinement out of 100, indicating a significant capability to automatically generate related research at a level similar to that of existing papers.

  • Recently, high-entropy carbides have attracted considerable attention owing to their excellent physical and chemical properties such as high hardness, fracture toughness, and conductivity. However, as an emerging class of novel materials, the synthesis methods, performance, and applications of high-entropy carbides have ample scope for further development. In this study, equiatomic (Hf-Ti-Ta-Zr-Nb)C high-entropy carbide powders have been prepared by an ultrahigh-energy ball-milling (UHEBM) process with different milling times (1, 5, 15, 30, and 60 min). Further, their refinement behavior and high-entropy synthesis potential have been investigated. With an increase in the milling time, the particle size rapidly reduces (under sub-micrometer size) and homogeneous mixing of the prepared powder is observed. The distortions in the crystal lattice, which occur as a result of the refinement process and the multicomponent effect, are found to improve the sintering, thereby notably enhancing the formation of a single-phase solid solution (high-entropy). Herein, we present a procedure for the bulk synthesis of highly pure, dense, and uniform FCC single-phase (Fm3m crystal structure) (Hf-Ti-Ta-Zr-Nb)C high-entropy carbide using a milling time of 60 min and a sintering temperature of 1,600℃.

  • In this paper, we propose a new single-image dehazing method. The proposed method constructs color ellipsoids that are statistically fitted to haze pixel clusters in RGB space and then calculates the transmission values through color ellipsoid geometry. The transmission values generated by the proposed method maximize the contrast of dehazed pixels, while preventing over-saturated pixels. The values are also statistically robust because they are calculated from the averages of the haze pixel values. Furthermore, rather than apply a highly complex refinement process to reduce halo or unnatural artifacts, we embed a fuzzy segmentation process into the construction of the color ellipsoid so that the proposed method simultaneously executes the transmission calculation and the refinement process. The results of an experimental performance evaluation verify that compared to prevailing dehazing methods the proposed method performs effectively across a wide range of haze and noise levels without causing any visible artifacts. Moreover, the relatively low complexity of the proposed method will facilitate its real-time applications.

  • The refinement of microstructure and phase transformation near the interface of pure copper/carbon steel dissimilar metals joints with various friction welding parameters have been studied in this paper. The microstructure of copper and carbon steel joints were changed to be a finer grain compared to those of the base metals due to the frictional heat and plastic deformation. The microstructure of copper side experienced wide range of deformed region from the weld interface and divided into very fine equaxied grains and elongated grains. Especially, the microstructures near the interface on carbon steel were transformed from ferrite and pearlite dual structure to fine ferrite, grain boundary pearlite and martensite due to the welding thermal cycle and rapid cooling rate after welding. These microstructures were varied with each friction welding parameters. The recrystallization on copper side is reason for softening in copper side and martensite transformation could explain the remarkable hardening region in carbon steel side.

  • PVT (Physical Vapor Transport) method has advantages in producing high quality, large scale wafers where many researches are being carried out to commercialize nitride semiconductors. However, complex process variables cause various defects when it had non-equilibrium growth conditions. Annealing process after crystal growth has been widely used to enhance the crystallinity. It is important to set appropriate temperature, pressure, and annealing time to improve crystallinity effectively. In this study, the effect of the annealing conditions on the crystalline structure variation of the AlN single crystal grown by PVT method was investigated with synchrotron whitebeam X-ray topography, electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD), and Rietveld refinement. X-ray topography analysis showed secondary phases, sub-grains, impurities including carbon inclusion in the single crystal before annealing. EBSD analyses identified that sub-grains with slightly tilted basal plane appeared and the overall number of grains increased after the annealing process. Rietveld refinement showed that the stress caused by the temperature gradient during the annealing process between top and bottom in the hot zone not only causes distortion of grains but also changes the lattice constant.

  • In order to reduce weight of a high-speed railroad vehicle, the main body has been manufactured by hollow section extrusion using aluminum alloys. A porthole die has utilized for the hollow section extrusion process, which causes complicated die geometry and flow characteristics. Design of porthole die is very difficult due to such a complexity. The three-dimensional finite element analysis for hollow section is also an arduous job from the viewpoint of appropriate mesh construction and tremendous computation time. In the present work, mismatching refinement, an efficient domain decomposition method with different mesh density for each subdomain, is implemented for the analysis of the hollow section extrusion process. In addition, a modified grid-based approach with the surface element layer is utilized lot three-dimensional mesh generation of a complicated shape with hexahedral elements. The effects of porthole design are discussed through the simulation for extrusion of an underframe part of a railroad vehicle. An experiment has also been carried out for the comparison. Comparing the velocity distribution at the outlet with the thickness variation of the extruded part, it is concluded that the analysis results can provide reliable measures whether the die design is acceptable to obtain uniform part thickness. The analysis results are then successfully reflected on the industrial porthole die design.

  • For application of cast-forging process with Al-Si alloys, casting experiments are carried out by adding Sr and TiB to Al-Si alloys for grain refinement treatment. We experimented on the mechanical properties according to microstructural changes, forging ability test and also investigated the mechanical properties after forging. The finest microstructure could be observed respectively when 0.05 wt.%Sr and 0.1 wt.%TiB were added. In this case, tensile strength and elongation increased much more than as casting. After high temperature deformation simulation test with grain refinement specimens was carried out, about 60N per unit $area(mm^2)$ of specimen was confirmed. After hot forging, tensile strength and elongation were increased. It was considered that casting defect was removed by compressive working.

  • Recently Al-Cu-P alloys are used to refine primary Si of hypereutectic Al-Si alloys. Because it has inside AlP compound that acts as nucleation site in the melt, Al-Cu-P alloy has good refinement effect in lower holding temperature and after shoter holding times. In this study Al-Cu-P refinement agent was made by mechanical alloying method. When Al-13.5wt%Cu-1.5wt%P was alloyed mechanically for 30hr in Ar atmosphere by high energy ball mill, it had the refinement effect that showed primary Si size of about $30{\mu}m$ in Al-20wt%Si at $760^{\circ}C$, treated for 15min.

  • A novel adaptive mesh refinement (AMR) strategy based on the Moment-of-Fluid (MOF) method for volume-tracking dynamic interface computation is presented. The Moment-of-Fluid method is a new interface reconstruction and volume advection method using volume fraction as well as material centroid. The mesh refinement is performed based on the error indicator, the deviation of the actual centroid obtained by interface reconstruction from the reference centroid given by moment advection process. Using the AMR-MOF method, the accuracy of volume-tracking computation with evolving interfaces is improved significantly compared to other published results.

  • Among various methods to acquire high strength in plain carbon steel, the mettled of grain refinement by controlling thermo-mechanical processing parameters has gained a great attention if steel rolling industries. In the present study, three different rolling pass schedules are proposed to obtain fine grains which are based on combined results of recrystallization modelling, finite element analysis and experiment. Since meta-dynamic or dynamic recrystallization has been found to be very effective in producing fine grains, reduction ratio and interpass time in the proposed rolling pass schedules were determined in order to invoke such recrystallization as often as possible.
