With the recent advancement of computer hardware and the contribution of open source libraries to facilitate access to artificial intelligence technology, the use of machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) technologies in various fields of exploration geophysics has increased. In addition, ML researchers have developed complex algorithms to improve the inference accuracy of various tasks such as image, video, voice, and natural language processing, and now they are expanding their interests into the field of automatic machine learning (AutoML). AutoML can be divided into three areas: feature engineering, architecture search, and hyperparameter search. Among them, this paper focuses on hyperparamter search with Bayesian optimization, and applies it to the problem of facies classification using seismic data and well logs. The effectiveness of the Bayesian optimization technique has been demonstrated using Vincent field data by comparing with the results of the random search technique.
The main purpose of this paper is to examine the aid effectiveness of ODA projects through a case of an e-Government ODA. The case at hand is the Mongolian National Data Center project, which was supported by Korea International Cooperation Agency in 2007~2009. In this paper, we analyze aid effectiveness through a case instead of a long-term macroeconomic analysis. By using OECD DAC guideline for performance evaluation of ODA project combined with PRM (Performance Reference Model) for evaluating e-Government, authors undertakes a post-implementation evaluation on the Mongolian NDC project. The result shows that the NDC project has been relevant and implemented effectively and efficiently given the political instability incurred by the election fraud in 2008. However, there have been problems as well. Provision of defected monitors was a critical problem while disagreement on the safety of the building was lasted for two more years to be settled. Some comments on the training program are also worth to hear to ameliorate similar projects. But more fundamental problems are found in impacts and sustainability areas. Low political status of ICTPA as a coordinating organization for ICT ODA and unstable job security of NDC are serious hurdles to increase effectiveness and efficiency of NDC. ICTPA has played very limited roles in coordinating government-wide ICT ODA projects because it lacks actual power and control over them. Other government organizations do not fully trust NDC as a reliable government data center due to low political status and lack of job security. Thus critical factors to affect the effectiveness and efficiency of e-Government ODA projects are political and organizational instead of economic.
This study conducted a survey on recognition of teachers, students, and Parent Teacher Association(PTA) for the Education for Sustainable Development from April to October, 2008. It confirmed a couple of facts, which were summarized as follows; First, among eight educational areas including Environmental Education, Energy Education, Gender Education, World Heritage Education, Multi-cultural Coexistence Education, Peace Education, Education for human rights, and Education for international understanding that UNESCO had offered, this study showed that the 'Environmental Education' is a relatively important area comparing with others. Second, 54.4% of the respondents have agree with the need of the education for sustainable development in the middle school and the high school, and 54.1% of them showed their willingness to participate in the program. Third, because 49.2% of the respondents chose 'important' on the question of 'how important the field education and the experience education are', it looked like most of them agreed with the importance of the field education and the experience education. Fourth, because 61.1% of the responded teachers chose 'need' on the question of 'if it needs relationship with other studies', it looked like most of them agreed with the necessity of relationship with other studies. Fifth, 62.5% of the respondents chose 'no' on the question of 'if they conduct the education for sustainable development Even if some wanted the education for sustainable development, most of them would not do it in the regular curriculum, but in the special activity class or teacher's discretional time. Sixth, most respondents indicated the teacher's class burden and the teacher's lack of knowledge as the problem if the education for sustainable development would be conducted. This result implied that in order to vitalize the education for sustainable development, the teacher's class burden should be reduced and the teacher train program is necessary. Finally, urgent requested studies could improve the education for sustainable development in communities and schools, because the result of the survey showed education, natural observation learning, and visiting ecological parks as important elements.
Cracking and bulging in welded and internally lined pressure vessels that work in thermal-mechanical cycling service have been well known problems in the petrochemical, power and nuclear industries. However, published literature and industry surveys show that similar problems have been occurring during the last 50 years. A better understanding of the causes of cracking and bulging causes is needed to improve the reliability of these pressure vessels. This study attempts to add information required for increasing the knowledge and fundamental understanding required. Typical examples of this problem are the coke drums in the delayed coking units refinery process. This case was selected for experimental work, field study and results comparison. Delayed coking units are among the refinery units that have higher economical yields. To shut down these units represents a high negative economical impact in refinery operations. Also, the maintenance costs associated with repairs are commonly very high. Cracking and bulging occurrences in the coke drums, most often at the weld areas, characterize the history of the operation of delayed coking units. To design and operate more robust coke drums with fewer problems, an improved metallurgical understanding of the cracking and bulging mechanisms is required. A methodology that is based field experience revision and metallurgical analyses for the screening of the most important variables, and subsequent finite element analyses to verify hypotheses and to rank the variables according to their impact on the coke drum lives has been developed. This indicated approach provides useful information for increasing coke drum reliability. The results of this work not only order the most important variables according to their impact in the life of the vessels, but also permit estimation of the life spans of coke drums. In conclusion, the current work shows that coke drums may fail as a combination of thermal fatigue and other degradation mechanisms such as: corrosion at high and low temperatures, detrimental metallurgical transformations and plastic deformation. It was also found that FEA is a very valuable tool for understanding cracking and bulging mechanisms in these services and for ranking the design, fabrication, operation and maintenance variables that affect coke drum reliability.
With speeding up the process of being international municipality, the gravity of lacking parking lots in Shanghai urban area, which directly blocks the traffic in the city, has been revealed. This thesis analyses present automobiles parking capability and forecasts the future's needs for the city. To solve the problem, the concept could be to expand parking areas in city center recently to relax the tention and to do thoughtful planning in the near future on the foundation of fully consideration the trend. The municipal government has to set up policy properly, amplify regulations, strenthern the administration and open up a path to raise founds. Berween road system administration which is dynamic and parking lot system administration which is static, there are a knot on macroscopic meaning and an interference as well. The coordination of these two systems would be reflested on the effects of whole municipal traffic adminisration. Basically, public parking lots are city's foundal facilities, just like roads, bridges, etc. The main problems now in Shanghai are large parking space demands, insufficient facilities, cheap parking expenses comparing with the cost of parking lots construcion and poor administration. According to the forecast on social economy development, there will be 580 thousand automobiles in Shanghai by the year 2000, and the amount of private cars will increase greatly. The frequency of automobiles going out will be 1.45 million per day. Public parking lots being able to afford 105 thousand units are needed. To satisfy the demands, the recent aim of planning should be speed up the parking lots construction, the planning objective in next period should be developing reasonably and exceed the demands properly. In order to realize the planning objective, the government has to formulate correct policy and amplify administration regulations. The government has to adopt both administration and economy means, including charging parking people reasonably, collect necessary taxes, bringing the parking lots planning into general municipality planning, opening up an effective path to raise founds, such as set up founds for parking lots construction, issue bonds and stocks, get loans at home and abroad, etc.
Korean Highway Capacity Manual (KHCM) has been used when we analyze the pedestrian Level of Service (LOS) of a pedestrian facility. However, the pedestrian LOS by KHCM is largely insensitive to pedestrian congestion levels. The objective of this study is to identify the source of this problem within the KHCM calculation method, and to propose an improved method using the case study from Seoul. Based on KHCM results, the pedestrian LOS is A for more than 90% of the Seoul region, which seems to be unrealistic. On the other hand, this study includes an effective adjustment parameter using the absolute value of effective sidewalk width. Using this method, results shows some changes including newly identified areas of LOS C and LOS D. The analysis of pedestrian LOS is carried out for the entire metropolitan region of Seoul in order to evaluate area wide pedestrian level of service in Seoul.
Venture business plays a great role in creating national competitive power in every country. In particular, software venture business can mostly belong to manufacturing business, and takes the top seat of core industry as the basis of globalization, informatization and localization as well as the driving force of national competitive power. However, software venture business still has some risks in the whole area of business administration including the process of business starting. There are also problems to be solved in such areas as manager's ability, leadership, talent, level of technical development, marketing channel, recruiting of marketing specialists, financial plan and fund raising. In this respect, this study divides 102 software venture businesses into two; business in the stage of growth and matured business through the analysis of questionnaire and analyzes their present managerial conditions according to their characteristics after classifying them into four categories such as general management, technical development, marketing, finance and accounting. Therefore, this study attempts to provide the basic data useful for business activities of software venture business from now on. The results are as follows; First, it can be judged that software venture businesses make efforts for their technical development in their character, and that they make a great investment in research and development. Consequently, it can be believed that this kind of investment must be continued in the future. Second, it can be seen that they are not much interested in marketing and its manpower. In fact, software venture businesses develop products technically at the risk of their life, while marketing plays an important role in the continuity of business. Thus, it is necessary for them to invest in the supplement of manpower in marketing. Third, it is observed that they generally have some difficulties in raising money from outside. By the way, it. is believed that this problem will be solved by appealing to the persons interested such as investors and creditors, if evaluation system would be developed more exquisitely so that their accounting and technical value may be appraised.
The liver fluke Opisthorchis viverrini is a serious health problem in Thailand. Infection is associated with cholangiocarcinoma (CCA), endemic among human populations in northeast and north Thailand where raw fish containing fluke metacercariae are frequently consumed. Recently, Thailand public health authorities have been organized to reduce morbidity and mortality particularly in the northeast through O. viverrini and CCA screening projects. Health modification is one of activities included in this campaign, but systemic guidelines of modifying and developing health behavior among liver fluke and CCA prevention in communities towards health belief and social support theory are still various and unclear. Here we review the guidelines for modifying and developing health behavior among populations in rural communities to strengthen understanding regarding perceived susceptibility, severity, benefits, and barriers to liver fluke and CCA prevention. This model may be useful for public health officers and related organizations to further health behavior change in endemic areas.
Emerging as a strategic domain of the service industry, the drone logistics industry is evolving into a zero effort industry, which realizes smart device service ranging from corporate services to daily customer services. The role of the drone industry is becoming increasingly important in strengthening national competitiveness, as well as corporate competitiveness, beyond the strengthening of product competitiveness. Although drones have various strengths and weaknesses for industries, there are plenty of possibilities for diverse disputes and conflicts due to lack of related laws, regulations, and institutional norms, as well as unsolved problems related to technologies and operations; that is, there are still policy tasks and problems to be solved such as unauthorized seizure of drones, hacking, protection of personal privacy, safety concerns, regulation and limitation of flying areas, damage relief, and dispute settlements. Thus, in order to vitalize the drone industry as a future growth engine while responding to the changes in the environment of the drone industry in Korea and overseas and to strengthen national and corporate competitiveness by harmonizing with advanced management innovations, it is necessary to conduct in-depth discussions and review policy issues related to the vitalization of the drone industry. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to review the domestic and overseas realities and statuses of the drone logistics industry and application cases, analyze policies regarding the drone logistics industry of each country, review general theories on the solution of disputes arising out of the transactions in the drone logistics industry, and, as a conclusion, suggest desirable policy issues for the vitalization of the drone logistics industry in Korea.

Objectives : The aim of this study was to develop an assessment tool for measurement of children's functioning in the mental health service. We conducted a preliminary study to develop a sensitive and inclusive scale focused on the functional changes of children rather than just focusing on their symptoms or screening. Methods : The Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale and the Korean-Child Behavior Checklist (K-CBCL) were both administered to 134 parents of children with emotional or behavioral problems who participated in the Aizone program and also to 186 parents of elementary school children in the Seoul metropolitan area as a control group. SPSS version 12.0 was used for statistical analysis. Results : Most of the reliability coefficients were over 0.70 except those of the conduct behavior items, which showed relatively high internal consistency. The corrected item-total correlations ranged from .411 to 758, except those of conduct behavior items and special measure items. In a concurrent validity test with K-CBCL, the total behavior problem score of K-CBCL was highly correlated with the total score of the Child and Adolescent Functional Assesment Scale (r=.610). For the construct validity, confirmatory factor analysis was performed for each of four areas, including behavior (at home/school), achievement, peer relationship, and emotion. Conclusion : The results showed that the scale was statistically reliable and valid, except for conduct behavior items. This study was conducted only for parents with elementary children. An adolescents group should be included in future studies.
