Prediction of the Gold-silver Deposits from Geochemical Maps - Applications to the Bayesian Geostatistics and Decision Tree Techniques (지화학자료를 이용한 금${\cdot}$은 광산의 배태 예상지역 추정-베이시안 지구통계학과 의사나무 결정기법의 활용)

  • This study investigates the relationship between the geochemical maps and the gold-silver deposit locations. Geochemical maps of 21 elements, which are published by KIGAM, locations of gold-silver deposits, and 1:1,000,000 scale geological map of Korea are utilized far this investigation. Pixel size of the basic geochemical maps is 250m and these data are resampled in 1km spacing for the statistical analyses. Relationship between the mine location and the geochemical data are investigated using bayesian statistics and decision tree algorithms. For the bayesian statistics, each geochemical maps are reclassified by percentile divisions which divides the data by 5, 25, 50, 75, 95, and $100\%$ data groups. Number of mine locations in these divisions are counted and the probabilities are calculated. Posterior probabilities of each pixel are calculated using the probability of 21 geochemical maps and the geological map. A prediction map of the mining locations is made by plotting the posterior probability. The input parameters for the decision tree construction are 21 geochemical elements and lithology, and the output parameters are 5 types of mines (Ag/Au, Cu, Fe, Pb/Zn, W) and absence of the mine. The locations for the absence of the mine are selected by resampling the overall area by 1 km spacing and eliminating my resampled points, which is in 750m distance from mine locations. A prediction map of each mine area is produced by applying the decision tree to every pixels. The prediction by Bayesian method is slightly better than the decision tree. However both prediction maps show reasonable match with the input mine locations. We interpret that such match indicate the rules produced by both methods are reasonable and therefore the geochemical data has strong relations with the mine locations. This implies that the geochemical rules could be used as background values oi mine locations, therefore could be used for evaluation of mine contamination. Bayesian statistics indicated that the probability of Au/Ag deposit increases as CaO, Cu, MgO, MnO, Pb and Li increases, and Zr decreases.

Development of Mapping Method for Liquefaction Hazard in Moderate Seismic Region Considering the Uncertainty of Big Site Investigation Data (빅데이터 지반정보의 불확실성을 고려한 중진지역에서의 액상화 위험도 작성기법 개발)

  • Recently, Korean government has tried out to set up earthquake hazards prevention system. In the system, several geotechnical hazard maps including liquefaction hazard map and landslide hazard map for the whole country have drawn to consider the domestic seismic characteristics. To draw the macro liquefaction hazard map, big data of site investigations in metropolitan areas and provincial areas has to be verified for its application. In this research, we carried out site response analyses using 522 borehole site investigation data in S city during a desirable earthquake. The soil classification was separately compared to shear wave velocity considering the uncertainty of site investigation data. Probability distribution and statistical analysis for the results of site response analyses was applied to the feasibility study. Finally, we suggest a new site amplification coefficient, hereby presented with the similar results of liquefaction hazard mapping using the calculated liquefaction potential index by the site response analyses. Above-mentioned study will be expected to help to follow research and draw liquefaction hazard map in moderate seismic region.

A Proposal of Durability Prediction Models and Development of Effective Tunnel Maintenance Method Through Field Application (내구성 예측식의 제안 및 현장적용을 통한 효율적인 터널 유지관리 기법의 개발)

  • This study proposed more reasonable prediction models on compressive strength and carbonation of concrete structure and developed a more effective tunnel safety diagnosis and maintenance method through field application of the proposed prediction models. For this study, the Seoul Metro's Line 1 through Line 4 were selected as target structures because they were built more than 30 years ago and have accumulated numerous diagnosis and maintenance data for about 15 years. As a result of the analysis of compressive strength and carbonation, we were able to draw prediction models with accuracy of more than 80% and confirmed the prediction model's reliability by comparing it with the existing models. We've also confirmed field suitability of the prediction models by applying field, the average error of an estimate on compressive strength and carbonation depth was about 20%, which showed an accuracy of more than 80%. We developed a more effective maintenance method using durability prediction Map before field inspection. With the durability prediction Map, diagnostic engineers and structure managers can easily detect the vulnerable points, which might have failed to reach the standard of designed strength or have a high probability of corrosion due to carbonation, therefore, it is expected to make it possible for them to diagnose and maintain tunnels more effectively and efficiently.

Flood Risk Mapping with FLUMEN model Application (FLUMEN 모형을 적용한 홍수위험지도의 작성)

  • Recently due to the typhoon and extreme rainfall induced by abnormal weather and climate change, the probability of severe damage to human life and property is rapidly increasing. Thus it is necessary to create adequate and reliable flood risk map in preparation for those natural disasters. The study area is Seo-gu in Daegu which is located near Geumho river, one of the tributaries of Nakdong river. Inundation depth and velocity at each time were calculated by applying FLUMEN model to the target area of interest, Seo-gu in Daegu. And the research of creating flood risk map was conducted according to the Downstream Hazard Classification Guidelines of USBR. The 2-dimensional inundation analysis for channels and protected lowland with FLUMEN model was carried out with the basic assumption that there's no levee failure against 100 year precipatation and inflow comes only through the overflowing to the protected lowland. The occurrence of overflowing was identified at the levee of Bisan-dong located in Geumho watershed. The level of risk was displayed for house/building residents, drivers and pedestrians using information about depth and velocity of each node computed from the inundation analysis. Once inundation depth map and flood risk map for each region is created with this research method, emergency action guidelines for residents can be systemized and it would be very useful in establishing specified emergency evacuation plans in case of levee failure and overflowing resulting from a flood.

A Study on the Adaptation of 'YURAGI theory' of Wall Covering (크로스벽재에 대한 'YURAGI이론' 적용가능성에 관한 고찰연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to find out and to show that the probability of the adaption of YURAGI theory of wall covering in interior design. By using personal computer, visible image of wall covering is inputted to a computer program as 'bmp' file, Windows bitmap file format, for Fourier transform. The evaluation indexes such as 'Map', 'YURAGI coefficient', 'Rest error', and 'Linearity' are defined to display the analytical result. The result of this study is shown by visual image and numerical value. As a result of this paper, we can understand that the psychological evaluations about wall coverings are different according to the YURAGI coefficient which came out by fluctuation analysis method as YURAGI theory. So, now we are able to know that the adaptation of YURAGI theory is very useful at psychological evaluation about wall covering.

  • AWGN(Addictive white gaussian noise)에 의해 영상은 자주 훼손되곤 한다. 최근 이를 복원하기위해 웨이블릿(Wavelet) 영역에서의 베이시안(Bayesian) 추정법이 연구되고 있다. 웨이블릿 변환된 영상 신호의 밀도 함수(pdf)는 표족한 첨두와 긴 꼬리(long-tail)를 갖는 경망이 있다. 이러한 사전 밀도 함수(a priori probability density function)를 상황에 적합하게 추정한다면 좋은 성능의 복원 결과를 얻을 수 있다. 빈번이 제안되는 릴도 함수로 가우시안(Gaussian) 분포 참수와 라플라스(Laplace) 분포 함수가 있다. 이들 각각의 모델은 훌륭히 변환 계수들을 모델링하며 나름대로의 장점을 나타낸다. 본 연구에서는 가우시안 분포와 라플라스(Laplace) 분포의 혼합 분포 모델을 밀도 함수로 제안하여, 이 들의 장점을 종합하였다. 이를 MAP(Maximum a Posteriori) 추정 방법에 적용하여 잡음을 제거 하였다. 그 결과 기존의 알고리즘에 비해 시각적인 면(Visual aspect), 수치적인 면(PSNR), 그리고 연산량(Complexity) 측면에서 망상된 결과를 얻었다.

  • Recently, simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) approaches employing Rao-Blackwellized particle filter (RBPF) have shown good results. However, no research is conducted to analyze the result representation of SLAM using RBPF (RBPF-SLAM) when particle diversity is preserved. After finishing the particle filtering, the results such as a map and a path are stored in the separate particles. Thus, we propose several result representations and provide the analysis of the representations. For the analysis, estimation errors and their variances, and consistency of RBPF-SLAM are dealt in this study. According to the simulation results, combining data of each particle provides the better result with high probability than using just data of a particle such as the highest weighted particle representation.

A Systematic and Efficient Approach for Data Association in Topological Maps for Mobile Robot using Wavelet Transformation

  • Data association is a process that matches a recent observation with known data set, which is used for the localization of mobile robots. Edges in topological maps have rich information which can be used for the data association. However, no systematic approach on using the edge data for data association has been reported. This paper proposes a systematic way of utilizing the edge data for data association. First, we explain a Local Generalized Voronoi Angle(LGA) to represent the edge data in 1-dimension. Second, we suggest a key factor extraction procedure from the LGA to reduce the number by $2^7-2^8$ times, for computational efficiency using the wavelet transformation. Finally we propose a way of data association using the key factors of the LGA. Simulations show that the proposed data association algorithm yields higher probability for similar edges in computationally efficient manner.

  • 본 논문은 자연스러운 합성음 생성을 위한 끊어 읽기 강도 예측에 관한 것으로, 문장에 대한 품사열이 주어졌을 때 Posteriori 확률을 최대화하는 끊어 읽기 강도를 비터비 디코딩으로 예측한다. 훈련용 데이터는 여성화자 1인이 발성한 2,100 문장이며, 음성 데이터로부터 휴지길이(pause)에 따라 끊어 읽기 강도를 2단계로 할당하고, 텍스트에서는 30개의 품사 태그 심볼을 이용하여 형태소분석 및 태깅을 수행하였다. 관측확률은 3개 연속하는 품사열이 발생할 확률로 하고 끊어 읽기 강도 천이확률은 bigram으로 했을 때, cross validation 방법으로 성능 평가를 수행하였다 평가결과, 훈련데이타에 대해서는 $89.7\%$, 테스트 데이터에 대해서는 $84.9\%$의 예측정확률을 보였다.

Time-Slotted Scheduling Schemes for Multi-hop Concurrent Transmission in WPANs with Directional Antenna

  • To achieve high-speed (giga-bit) connectivity for short-range wireless multimedia applications, the millimeter-wave (mmWave) wireless personal area networks with directional antennas are gaining increased interest. Due to the use of directional antennas and mmWave communications, the probability of non-interfering transmissions increases in a localized region. Network throughput can be increased immensely by the concurrent time allocation of non-interfering transmissions. The problem of finding optimum time allocation for concurrent transmissions is an NP-hard problem. In this paper, we propose two enhanced versions of previously proposed multi-hop concurrent transmission (MHCT) schemes. To increase network capacity, the proposed schemes efficiently make use of the free holes in the time-allocation map of the MHCT scheme; thus, making it more compact.
