  • The purpose of this study is to find out the theoretical background of spatial fantage effects in Piranesi etching "Le Carceri" called 'Architectural Capriccio'. In a life time Piranesi created a prodigious oeuvre of dramatic and fantastic images about magnificent buildings and mysterious ruins and prison. The increasing "tourism" after the middle of the 18th century contributed a lot to Piranesi's success. He was famous for his poetic views of Rome and also his fantastic imaginary interiors. The terms "Capriccio" and "Veduta" are strongly connected with Piranesi's work. The term Veduta describes a form of landscape depiction in print with close to reality imitation of the scenery, whereas the "Capriccio" contains the elements of invention in artificial architectural landscape. Trained in Venice as an engineer and architect, his studies had included perspective and stage design. These skills, allied to his deep knowledge of archaeology, provided the substance for his Veduta, etchings of ancient Rome. But his most remarkable etchings are those of imaginary interiors, the Carceri d'Invenzione(Imaginary Prisons), a series of capric plates issued in 1750. It appears to Piranesi etching 'Le Carceri' that 18th century experimental scenography's effect very strongly. Also, it can understand about "Scena per Angolo" which was revealed by Ferdinando Galli Bibiena that Piranesi spatial view and viewpoint deconstruction operate motive and cause. Piranesi's spatial fortification was influence by Filippo Juvarra's spatial concept. As a result of this research will be foundation of understanding deeply that Piranesi etching has been affect to present architecture and art.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the tourists' circulations and behaviors at one of the representative dark tourism sites in Seoul, named Seodaemun Prison History Hall. This study conducts direct observation and behaviour tracking or follow-up survey based on traffic circulation and visitors' Muse-Ethogram extracted from the previous studies. The result of tourists' actual circulations shows that main tourists' flows of study areas consist of 3 approaches; suggested, unstructured and directed approaches. And tourists' behaviors such as moving(M), stop looking(SL), and reading(RE) reveal with the highest frequency. This study finds the 'expressing feeling(EXP)' as a new visitor' behavior in dark tourism site. The highest frequency of visitors' movement patterns is stop looking-reading-move(SL-RE-M). The results of this study could be used as a planning and design guidelines of dark tourism related to exhibition circulation, visitors' behaviors and development of exhibition content.

  • In the presence of acute pericoronitis of mandilbular third molar, antibiotic therapy and early incision and drainage are the method of choice, followed by definitive surgical extraction of the tooth as soon as it becomes subacute. If excision of the overlying tissues is decided on, it should be done adequately. All overlying tissues must be throughly excised, and the crown portion of the unerupted tooth should be completely exposed. After excision has been completed, the wound should be managed with a surgical dressing. This should be allowed to remain approximately 7 days. And then, surgical extraction of the impacted mandibular third molar can be done usually. In this operation, there are many complications, such as, postoperative bleeding, infection, trismus, dysphasia and paresthesia. The surgeon are discredited and medicolegal problem may be occurred in the presence of many distressed complications. Therefore, the relatively nonsurgical treatment is the method of choice. So, authors selected the conservative treatment methods of incision and drainage, primary endodontic drainage, operculectomy without surgical extraction of the mandibular third molars. The results were more favorable without the postoperative complication in Wonju old offender prison.

  • This study aims to provide evidence for supporting the families of people in prison, through understanding their families who have suffered for their imprisonment This research was conducted with seven family members with their spouse, son or daughter, or sibling in prison. The Giorigi's approach of analysis for the phenomenological qualitative research was used to explore the essence of the experiences of prisoners' families. This qualitative research drew five components on the basis of the experiences of prisoners' families : 'Living with the bridle named as the family of a prisoner', 'The pain having to hide from the public', 'Having ambivalence', and 'condemn the sin, but no the sinner', 'Picking oneself up'. The essential subjection of their experiences was interpreted into 'Face life, , with being under a yoke'. The findings suggest that the practical intervention of social welfare is needed to support the psychological, emotional, and social recovery of the prisoners' families.

Lee Chan showed the romance of desire in early poems and proletarian poems. Then he indicated acute scenery of the tragedy in the late 1930s' poems. In heavy situation, he moved from pro-Japanese literature to North Korean literature. However he didn't throw introspected self-reflection language to himself each his changing. But through several form of garden, he clearly showed consistent of maximizing his utopia sense. The time Lee Chan experienced was an icon which intensively indicated several features of deformed modern Korean poetic history. He was a unique poet who expressed various traces of modern Korean poetry in short time step by step. His path informed that he was a special poet who stepped the trace of many modern Korean poetry's extremes such as romantic poetry, proletarian poetry, prison poetry, pro-Japanese poetry and North Korean poetry. • It has been suggested that the fluorine content of crude sea salt may have special value in the prevention of tooth decay, by A.E.Schaefer and J/H/.Shaw. Shaw calculated that if crude sea salt containing about 40 ppm of fluorine were used, the consumption of 26-44 grams of the salt per day for each prison would be sufficient for the prevention of tooth decay. He also suggested that this level of salt consumption is actually quite common among many population in the far and near east. In order to examine the fluorine contents of sea salt in Korea, several kinds of solar-evaporating salt and pan-evaporating salt were studied. The experimental results may be summarized as follows; 1. Fluorine contents of 9 kinds of solar-evaporating salt ranged from 3.8 to 15.0 ppm and the average was 7.52 $\pm$ 3.89 ppm. 2. Fluorine contents of 7 kinds of pan-evaporating salt ranged from 2.5 to 7.1 ppm. 3. The more the salt is refined, the less becomes the fluorine content. 4. Even the crudest sea salt can not contain about 40 ppm of fluorine. 5. Statistically, daily consumption of sea slat for each person in Korea is 28 grams.

  • The Korean economy successfully overcame the macroeconomic downturns driven from the Asian financial crisis in a very short period of time. The economic shock, however, generated a variety of social problems, one of which was the increase in felonies (homicides, robbery, rape, and arson), or degradation of public safety. We argue that the Korean criminal policy has not been effective to ameliorate the rising trends in crime caused by the financial crisis. In order to substantiate this claim, we assess the effectiveness of criminal policy: policing, sentencing, and corrections. First, there has been resource shortage in policing since the 1997 financial crisis. For the past ten years, the investment of human resource and budget in the police has been virtually stagnant, as well as in prosecutors' investigation activities. The insufficient resource allocation in policing caused a huge decline in arrest rates and prosecution rates. Second, the Korean judicial system has not increased the severity of punishment. Comparing the pre- and the post-financial crisis period, the average length of prison sentence by the courts has declined. Given the degrading in the quality of crime and the decreasing amount of inputs into the policing and prosecution, the government should have increased the severity of punishment to deter crime. Third, we found that the government hired more officers and allocated larger budget into prison and probation. However, it is difficult to suggest that the increased level of resources in correctional programs have been effective in preventing released prisoners from committing future crimes. This is because the number of repeat offenders convicted of more than a third offense increased dramatically since 1997, pushing felonies upward. In sum, the government organizations failed to respond respectively or to make coordinated actions, eventually causing a dramatic increase in crimes. This research brings explicit policy implications. In order to prevent possible additional degradation of public safety, the government must put more efforts into increasing the effectiveness of policy and to investing more resources into said policies. We also emphasize the importance of the institutional mechanisms which foster policy coordination among the Police, the Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of Justice, and other relevant government organizations.
