As Korea has undergone rapid modernization, urbanization and industrialization, women's social participation has increased. Accordingly, child care facilities have shown continuous growth in numbers. However, according to research, child care facilities in Korea lag behind those in other nations in terms of quality. Given that, it seem urgent to enhance the quality of child care facilities and improve their indoor environment. Above all, overall atmosphere, colors and finishing materials are connected directly with educational effects as well as feelings and health of facility users. This study assesses the current state of child care facilities and preferences by focusing primarily on interior atmosphere, materials and colors. For This Study, 7 facilities were surveyed, and 46 subjects were participated for this study. The findings suggest that "pretty" style is preferred to "natural" style. As regards flooring material, wood floor is preferred. It is recommended to lay pastel colored carpet or PVC flooring material to the wood floor. As for wall, it is desirable to divide the wall spaces by adding wood and painting to simple wallpapers. In case of the ceiling noise absorptive material is recommended to use instead of wallpapers. For the doors, it is desirable to use contrasting materials and colors given accessibility for children. In the meantime, rather than strong primary colors, soft color or pastel colors are desirable for furniture. This study has limitations because of insufficiency of case study samples. However, it is significant in that the study results may be used as primary source of information to improve the environment of child care facilities.

This paper proposes a new Recurrent neural network (RNN) based spectrum sensing technique for cognitive radio communications. The proposed technique determines the existence of primary user's signal without any prior information of the primary users. The method performs high-speed sampling by considering the whole sensing bandwidth and then converts the signal into frequency spectrum via fast Fourier transform (FFT). This spectrum signal is cut in sensing channel bandwidth and entered into the RNN to determine the channel vacancy. The performance of the proposed technique is verified through computer simulations. According to the results, the proposed one is superior to more than 2 [dB] than the existing threshold-based technique and has similar performance to that of the existing Convolutional neural network (CNN) based method. In addition, experiments are carried out in indoor environments and the results show that the proposed technique performs more than 4 [dB] better than both the conventional threshold-based and the CNN based methods.

Background/Aims: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) responder index (SRI)-4 response has been achieved with belimumab treatment in patients with moderate disease activity in cornerstone clinical trials and following studies. However, most studies involved patients treated with a mean prednisolone-equivalent dose of approximately 10 mg/d and focused on the steroid-sparing effect of belimumab. We aimed to identify the effect of belimumab in patients with mild-to-moderate SLE who were treated with low-dose or no corticosteroids. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the electronic medical records of patients treated with belimumab for at least 6 months between May 2021 and June 2022. The primary endpoint was SRI-4 response at 6 months. Results: Thirty-one patients were included (13 low dose- and 18 steroid non-users). The mean age was 39.2 ± 11.4 years, and 90.3% of patients were female. The baseline Safety of Estrogens in Lupus Erythematosus National Assessment-Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Disease Activity Index (SELENA-SLEDAI) score was 6.0 (4.0-9.0). The primary endpoint was achieved in 32.3% (10/31) of patients. Significant improvements in anemia, C4 levels, and SELENA-SLEDAI score were observed during treatment. Univariate analysis showed that the baseline SELENA-SLEDAI and arthritis were significantly associated with SRI-4 response at 6 months, and only the SELENA-SLEDAI remained significant (p = 0.014) in multivariate analysis. Conclusions: This cohort study is the first to report the efficacy of belimumab after minimizing the effect of corticosteroids. Belimumab showed efficacy in improving the SELENA-SLEDAI score, anemia, and low C4 in patients who did not receive corticosteroids or received only low doses.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of satisfaction in neighborhood park environments located in the Changwon-si of Gyeongsangnam-do, South Korea, on physical activity, the number of parks used for health improvement, and health levels based on Body Mass Index(BMI). Accordingly, a survey was conducted of 429 nearby residents and users of eight neighborhood parks located in urban areas of Seongsan-gu and Uichang-gu in the Changwon-si. The correlation between the environmental perception of neighborhood parks and physical activity and health, which was observed in the survey results, was analyzed using one-by-one linear regression analysis. By summarizing the study results, it was found that the primary reasons for avoiding park use were lack of time, time and effort required to reach the park(i.e., distance from the park), and lack of facilities within the park. Conversely, the primary reasons for using the park included accessibility, walking or strolling, leisure facilities, trees or shade, and diversity in exercise areas. In the case of park users, walking or strolling was the most common activity in the park. On average, park users walked to the parks for 10 minutes and exercised for an hour at least twice per week. With respect to the physical environment of the parks and surrounding areas, park users showed a high level of satisfaction with the distance between their houses and parks and the street environment. On the contrary, they exhibited low levels of satisfaction with water spaces and sightseeing within the parks. Subsequently, it was shown that the number of people using the parks for physical activities and health improvement was positively influenced(within a 5% significance level) by the intent to use the park for exercise, time spent in the park, satisfaction with park use and health improvement, distance to the park, and the convenience of using the park for the elderly. However, only the health improvement gained from park use was found to exhibit a correlation with BMI at the 10% significance level. Continuous accumulation of practical case studies on physical activities in parks and their health improvement effects is required. Through this, park spaces that are under the threat of reduction or elimination owing to various development plans can be conserved and expanded. Furthermore, such case studies can be used to provide data as the basis for deriving park plans and designs that improve parks' functions as sites of physical activity and health improvement.

The primary objective of his study is to investigate the factors influencing the implementation performance of K public corporation's ERP system from end user perspective. For this purpose, a research model and hypotheses are developed based on the literature reviews of IS Success Models. Data has been collected from 276 users who have used ERP system in K public corporation and the research hypotheses were tested using covariance structure model analysis. The hypotheses test results of this study are summarized as follows. Firstly, system quality has a positive influence on system usage, but information quality and service quality do not have significant influence on system usage. Secondly, all of three quality factors which are information quality, system quality, and service quality, have positive influence on user satisfaction. Lastly, both of system usage and user satisfaction have positive influence on user performance. From the analyses, this research ends with implications, as well as limitations and future research directions.
Lots of virtual communities and online businesses presently derive their primary sources of revenues through advertising, but nevertheless are plagued with marginal profitability though they might possess a significant user base. In the light of the need for an efficacious business model, there have been recent insights of an online community in particular reaping profits through an innovative and lucrative revenue generation method that earns by selling digital items. There have been some obvious evidences (e.g., Cyworld, SecondLife, Habo Hotel, etc.) that online communities can be profitable through their unique business model of selling digital items. However, there is lack of understanding about the motivation of purchasing digital items. This study tries to identify the main motivators of digital item purchases based on social/individual identity theory and self-presentation theory. "Digital items", otherwise known as "virtual assets", may include online avatars, accessories for the avatars, decorative ornaments like furniture, digital wallpapers, skins, background music and virtual weapons used for Internet games. These digital items are employed by users for representation and articulation in the online space, especially to create and enhance their online profiles in web pages and games. Prices for digital items typically range from a few cents to a few dollars each. Based on the theoretical framework like social identity theory and self-presentation theory, we developed the research model and proposed seven hypotheses. An analysis of 225 members of Cyworld found that digital item purchase intention in virtual world is affected by both members' need for self-presentation and need for affiliation. We also found that the need for self-presentation is significantly increased by innovativeness of members, community group norm, and community involvement. We concluded that the need for self-presentation could be a key variable for profitable business model in online community service industry. However, neither individual self-efficacy nor the need for affiliation significantly influenced the need for self-presentation which triggers purchase intention of digital items. In term of the theoretical and practical contribution, this study can be a pioneering empirical research that investigates the purchase intention of digital items based on social identity theory and self-presentation theory in the online context. Also, the findings of our study are valuable and practical for practitioners in the market who wish to adopt or improve the business model of selling digital items in an online community. From the findings, it can be seen that innovativeness of users, community group norm, and community involvement are three significant factors that influence need for self-presentation of users which ultimately leads to their intentions to buy digital items. These findings put forth that virtual community providers and online businesses selling digital items should prioritize their efforts and focus on these three factors if they want to increase the sales of these digital items and generate greater revenues. This study provides important implications for academic researchers and practitioners to understand why the community members pay money for their digital items in virtual world and how the practitioners can increase the sales of digital items in an online community. A couple of limitations of the study and future research directions are also discussed.

This study reports a field study that examined the citizens' needs and perceptions of library services at a municipal public library system of Mapo-gu, in an attempt to develop a comprehensive service plan that can satisfy the diverse public needs in the changing social environment. We administered a self-reported questionnaire to 800 library users and 300 non-users in the area to examine their reading habits, library use, and perceptions of library services and programs. As a result of the analysis, 53.7% of Mapo-gu residents used one or two libraries among all 16 municipal libraries, and the primary criterion for selecting the main library was accessibility(63.9%). And only 53.8% of library users had experience participating in the library programs. The respondents also showed strong perception that the library is an essential place for the community and the children. Study results indicate that the library system should further expand the collection size, diversify information contents, improve the physical space including library facilities, and build more libraries. In order to fulfill the role of public libraries as the central place of the community, the municipal city should further invest in enhancing accessibility, spatial innovation, and diversifying service contents and media.

Two primary tools to study park use are surveys and direct observation. Existing methods, however, are limited in terms of considerable costs in both time and money and the personal bias of respondents or observers. These limitations result in a lack of efficient, reliable, and affordable tools to investigate park use. This study explores the reliability and usability of unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) to explore park use in urban parks in Busan metropolitan city. By comparing with a systematic observation tool, SOPARC(System for Observing Play and Recreation in Communities), this study finds that the number of park users observed by two different techniques are highly correlated and not significantly different with each other. In addition, both methods show a high level of test-retest reliability. Comparing to existing methods, the UAV-using observation tool could cover larger target areas and is suitable to count park users in a more reliable and efficient way and map their use patterns, although it is weak in collecting detailed user information and surveying under poor conditions such as rain. Thus, the UAV method could complement direct observation. This study suggests practical implications of a UAV method to study park use.

Mass transit information can contribute many benefits to users. Especially, transportation information technology is developing highly with information technology in Korea recently. Hereafter, it is expected to give customized transportation information to users individually with the advent of ubiquitous age in earnest. This public transportation information service can be realized by path finding algorithm in public transportation networks including travel and transfer attributes. In this research, constraints are constructed with the primary facts influencing users. Moreover, the method reducing user's path finding condition arbitrarily is proposed by making the maximum value as variables. In this study, transfer frequency, total travel time, seat confirmation, transfer time and travel time become constraint condition based on k path finding algorithm considering service time constraint condition. Moreover, case study about user customized transfer information is performed in Seoul and metropolitan subway networks.

Today, most roof spaces are being designed as places for resting. The use of the roof spaces needs to be raised otherwise, budgeting or costs involved can be wasteful. A well-made plan is needed to increase the use of the roof spaces. The behavior of and preference for roof spaces could differ depending on building usage because the users of these roof spaces can be different. Therefore, this study selected 4 building types depending on usage: public buildings, educational and research buildings, medical buildings, and commercial buildings. Two buildings that created roof spaces per building type were selected. A survey was undertaken of the user experience of roof spaces on the buildings. The behavior and preference of roof spaces depending on building types were analyzed and the results are as follows. The behavior of using roof spaces regarding purpose, motivation, frequency, and average length of stay were different depending on the building types. In terms of purpose, over all four building types, taking a rest was the primary reason for using roof spaces. However, talking and smoking in public buildings, smoking, taking a walk or stretching, and viewing the exterior landscape in educational and research buildings, taking a walk or stretching and talking in medical buildings, taking care of children and talking in commercial buildings were also important reasons for using roof spaces. The preference of roof space components such as plants, paving materials, and facilities were different depending on the building types. In terms of plants, the users of public buildings preferred herbaceous plants and vegetables/aquatic plants more than the users of other building types. The users of medical buildings preferred vegetables/aquatic plants, and the users of commercial buildings preferred arbores, herbaceous plants, and vegetables/aquatic plants more than the users of other building types. This study provides empirical data for the behavior and the preference of roof spaces depending on building types. These findings could provide new insights into how to increase the use of roof spaces.
