  • With the help of a development and popularization of microarray technology that enable to us to simultaneously investigate the expression pattern of thousands of genes, the toxicogenomics experimenters can interpret the genome-scale interaction between genes exposed in toxicant or toxicant-related environment. The ultimate and primary goal of toxicogenomics identifies functional context among the group of genes that are differentially or similarly coexpressed under the specific toxic substance. On the other side, public reference databases with transcriptom, proteom, and biological pathway information are needed for the analysis of these complex omics data. However, due to the heterogeneous and independent nature of these databases, it is hard to individually analyze a large omics annotations and their pathway information. Fortunately, several web sites of the public database provide information linked to other. Nevertheless it involves not only approriate information but also unnecessary information to users. Therefore, the systematically integrated database that is suitable to a demand of experimenters is needed. For these reasons, we propose SOP (Search of Omics Pathway) database system which is constructed as the integrated biological database converting heterogeneous feature of public databases into combined feature. In addition, SOP offers user-friendly web interfaces which enable users to submit gene queries for biological interpretation of gene lists derived from omics experiments. Outputs of SOP web interface are supported as the omics annotation table and the visualized pathway maps of KEGG PATHWAY database. We believe that SOP will appear as a helpful tool to perform biological interpretation of genes or proteins traced to omics experiments, lead to new discoveries from their pathway analysis, and design new hypothesis for a next toxicogenomics experiments.

  • Quitline activity in Rajasthan, India is a voluntary activity of Rajasthan Cancer Foundation (RCF) since April 2013. To kick-off, it took the benefit of the State Government- PIRAMAL SWASTHYA (PS)1 collaborative 104 Health Information Helpline that existed already in public-private partnership. It is a reactive quitline that helps callers through the counselors and nursing staff trained specifically through the weekly sessions held by the first author, the RCF resource on quitline. Besides structuring of the scripts for primary intervention and follow-ups after 1 week, 1 month, 6 months and a year, he also monitors calls, advices and coordinates with the supervisors to manage and analyze the data base, and reports to the PS lead at the Jaipur Center on overall performance and to plan strategic communication with the State Government on its outcomes. The quitline has limitations of its informal existence through a voluntary effort of RCF, no specific resource allocation, suboptimal data management, minimal awareness in the masses due to poor IEC (Information, Education and Communication; except its efforts made by RCF in last 1 year through the government-run State TV and City Radio) and staff shortage and its attrition due to lack of plan for career advancement. Despite these challenges in the year 2013, the quit line has registered a quit rate (for complete abstinence) of 19.93% amongst 1525 callers. The quit rate were 58.01% (304/ 524) among the responders at the 3rd follow-up at 18 months (in September 2014)2. In view of an increase in quit rate by 5- 9 times over the prevailing quit rate in the former ever daily users [both smokers and the users of smokeless tobacco (SLT)], efforts are being made by RCF in concurrence with PS to have this cost-effective model established formally with optimal resource allocation in collaboration with willing agencies (the State and Central Governments and the International Quitline Agencies) and its replication in 4 more states where PS is collaborating with the respective state governments similarly (Assam, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Karnataka).

  • Federal communications commissions (FCC) has announced the first set of rules for 3.5 GHz (3,550 - 3,700 MHz) band used Navy radar and fixed satellite service (FSS) earth stations as primary service to sharing for citizen broadband radio service (CBRS) enable development of relatively low powered network technologies like small cells. Since CBRS sharing technique based on the 3-tiered spectrum access system (SAS) is able to protect the higher tiered users from harmful interference from lower tiered users, it has been considered actively to be introduced in Korea. However, 3.5 GHz band had been already allocated to the 5G services in Korea, the sharing studies have been carried out for 3,700 - 5,000 MHz, As the result, the 3.8 GHz (3,800 - 3,900 MHz) band used for only FSS system is able to be sharing, and an introduction of CBRS has been proposed in Korea by analyzing the interference to the FSS earth stations.

  • Recently, as computers and networks become popular, distributing information on the Internet is common In our daily life. also, the explosion of the Internet. of wireless digital communication and data exchange on Internet has rapidly changed the way we connect with other people. The e-mail has been commonly used by users as well recognizing It as the standard of manners among users on the Internet. In the past, e-mail has been the primary choice of exchanging Information, but secure mail is gaining popularity abroad and domestically because of their nature of providing security. That is. it has been used a variety of fields such as general mail and e-mail for advertisement. But, As the data transmitted on network can be easily opened or forged with simple operations. most of existing e-mail system don't have any security on the transmitted information. Thus. security mail system need to provide security including message encryption, content Integrity, message origin authentication, and non-repudiation. In this paper, we design implement secure mail system with non-repudiation service and encryption capability to provide services for certification of delivery and certification of content as well as the basic security services. • With the exhaustion of global IPv4 addresses, IPv6 technologies have attracted increasing attentions, and have been deployed widely. Meanwhile, new applications running over IPv6 networks will change the traditional traffic characteristics obtained from IPv4 networks. Traditional models obtained from IPv4 cannot be used for IPv6 network monitoring directly and there is a need to investigate those changes. In this paper, we explore the flow features of IPv6 traffic and compare its difference with that of IPv4 traffic from flow level. Firstly, we analyze the differences of the general flow statistical characteristics and users' behavior between IPv4 and IPv6 networks. We find that there are more elephant flows in IPv6, which is critical for traffic engineering. Secondly, we find that there exist many one-way flows both in the IPv4 and IPv6 traffic, which are important information sources for abnormal behavior detection. Finally, in light of the challenges of analyzing massive data of large-scale network monitoring, we propose a group flow model which can greatly reduce the number of flows while capturing the primary traffic features, and perform a comparative measurement analysis of group users' behavior dynamic characteristics. We find there are less sharp changes caused by abnormity compared with IPv4, which shows there are less large-scale malicious activities in IPv6 currently. All the evaluation experiments are carried out based on the traffic traces collected from the Northwest Regional Center of CERNET (China Education and Research Network), and the results reveal the detailed flow characteristics of IPv6, which are useful for traffic management and anomaly detection in IPv6.

  • The primary objectives of this study were, using data from Internet users in Korea, to determine users' preference of banner ad through two ad properties; ad presentation type (text vs. image) and ad content (product information vs. prize information) by incorporating the level of involvement into research design. Using within-group experimental design by means of subjects' web-based participation in the study, the study result showed that image-based banner ad was significantly preferred to text-based banner ad. It was found that the level of ad involvement had a significant impact on the preference of banner ads. Also it was found that image-based banner ad had a greater effect on ad preference than text-based banner ad in low involvement situation only, Finally, image-based banner ad was consistently preferred to text-based banner ad regardless of involvement level when the banner ad was product oriented. The study findings suggest that adoption decisions regarding banner ad presentation type and banner ad content should be based on the knowledge of both the level of consumer's ad involvement and the interactive effects between ad presentation and ad content.

  • In wireless communication, efficient spectrum usage is an issue that has been an attractive research area for many technologies. Recently new technologies innovations allow compact radios to transmit with power efficient communication over very long distances. For example, Low-Power Wide Area Networks (LPWANs) are an attractive emerging platform to connect the Internet-of-Things (IoT). Especially, LoRa is one of LPWAN technologies and considered as an infrastructure solution for IoT. End-devices use LoRa protocol across a single wireless hop to communicate to gateway(s) connected to the internet which acts as a bridge and relays message between these LoRa end-devices to a central network server. The use of the (ISM) spectrum sharing for such long-range networking motivates us to implement spectrum sensing testbed for cognitive radio network based on LoRa and GNU radio. In cognitive radio (CR), secondary users (SUs) are able to sense and use this information to opportunistically access the licensed spectrum band in absence of the primary users (PUs). In general, PUs have not been very receptive of the idea of opportunistic spectrum sharing. That is, CR will harmfully interfere with operations of PUs. Subsequently, there is a need for experimenting with different techniques in a real system. In this paper, we implemented spectrum sensing for cognitive radio networks based on LoRa and GNU Radio, and further analyzed corresponding performances of the implemented systems. The implementation is done using Microchip LoRa evolution kits, USRPs, and GNU radio.

  • Cognitive radio has been proposed as a promising dynamic spectrum allocation paradigm. In cognitive radio, spectrum sensing is a fundamental procedure that enables secondary users (unlicensed) employing unused portion of spectrum of primary users (licensed) without causing harmful interference. However, the performance of single-user spectrum-sensing scheme was limited by fading, noise uncertainty shadowing and hidden node problem. Cooperative spectrum sensing was proposed to mitigate these problem. In this paper, we observe cooperative sensing scheme with energy detection using three adaptive thresholds for local decision, which can mitigate sensing failure problem and improve sensing performance at local node. In cooperative scheme we employed OR rules as decision combining at fusion center. We evaluate our scheme through computer simulation, and the results show that with OR combination rule our scheme can achieve best performance than other schemes.

  • MFD (Make up Film Deterioration) is a gradual deterioration of applied make up and is a common problem experienced by most foundation users. Our investigation revealed that for 64% of all make up users MFD is their greatest consern is using foundations. Known that the primary cause of MFD is sebum secretion. We observed that the length of time prior to onset of MFD in people who produce high level of sebum varies significantly from person to person. This suggests that other factors besides quantity of sebum production can affect MFD. Control over this factor would, we believe, be key to developing longer-lasting makeups. We studied the relationship between MFD and skin surface conditions. Our study revealed that furrows on the skin surface affect MFD significantly. Sebum reaches the skin surface from sebaceous glands and flows along furrow on the skin. If there are many deep furrows, it takes longer for sebum to overflow. But if the furrows are few or shallow, sebum quickly overflows and spreads over the skin surface where it can degrade the make up film. Therefore even when the volume of sebum produced is the same, the rate of MFD will be different depending on the number and shape of the furrows. A longer-lasting foundation could be produced by matching personal skin condition, but this would be very difficult because individual variations in texture are very large. Therefore we approached the problem by attempting to impose sebum resistance in under make up and foundation. We have developed two new materials and make up products based on our theory. A new fluoroalkyl acrylate-methacrylates copolymer designed for incorporation in under make up is extremely sebum resistant and sweat proof. Another new acrylate polymer designed for inclusion in foundation absorbs sebum and changes to a solid. Usage tests confirm it is possible to reduce MFD by using under make up and foundation which incorporate our new materials to cover where skin furrows are few or shallow
