  • Traditional industrial complex in inner city has been getting stagnant and deteriorating because of the improvement of industrial structure and change of the city's spatial restructuralization. Third Industrial Complex is also characterized by the deterioration in the field such as the reduction of average number of the workers and the amount of production, the change of main types of business, subdivision of many parts, and the change of the price of land. Thus, local government is planning to change the complex into a high-tech industrial complex in the inner city. On the other hand, the companies which are undergoing the direct deterioration do not fully recognize the government plan to redevelop the complex, and there is no counter measure against the stagnation and deterioration. Therefore, the local government must have much time to discuss and have a consensus with the companies in the complex, and organize the control office which is able to mediate between the local government and the companies.

  • Stock investment is a personal investment technique that has gathered tremendous interest since the reduction in interest rates and tax exemption. However, it is risky especially for those who do not have expert knowledge on stock volatility. Therefore, it is well understood that accurate stock trend prediction can greatly help stock investment, giving birth to a volume of research work in the field. In order to compare different research works and to optimize hyper-parameters for prediction models, it is required to have an evaluation standard that can accurately assess performances of prediction models. However, little research has been done in the area, and conventionally used methods have been employed repeatedly without being rigorously validated. For this reason, we first analyze performance evaluation of stock trend prediction with respect to performance metrics and data composition, and propose a fair evaluation method based on prediction disparity ratio.

  • Now various research apply Fractal and chaos theory for natural expression of the fog on the fluid that the present this studies use special tools applicable are possible expression such as nature. But, ordinary peoples these works are much difficult yet easy to express, because require high prices and high professionals. Therefore, it is general assignments that everybody need easily expression of fog from high price special tools and professional programming reduction of complication difficult. Embodying this 2D image study made easily various image expression to be possible until UCC, individual from professional broadcasting. Specially, This study can use easily background fog expression when need to image expression such as Korean traditional pictures 3D because of possible expression of fog fluid effect in 3D space.

  • The battery system of an electric vehicle suffers from the problem the battery output and the service life decrease at low temperature. A Positive Temperature Coefficient(PTC) heater is used for maintaining room temperature but is heavy due to a complicated insulation structure. The larger the weight is, the lower the fuel economy of the electric vehicle is. On the other hand a induction heater have a simple insulation structure, which is effective in weight reduction and has a rapid temperature rise. The induction heater consists of an LC resonance circuit. The larger the capacitance is, the higher the price and weight is. Therefore, the inductance should be increased to reduce the capacitance. Also, the main heat source of the induction heater is coreloss. So, it is important to optimize inductance and coreloss in terms of electromagnetic field design. In this paper, the inductance and the coreloss according to the change of the induction heater structure were optimized through the Taguchi method and Finite Element Method(FEM) simulation.

The Impact of Information Technology Investment on Cost Reduction in Korean Insurance Industry (한국 생명보험산업의 정보화투자와 비용절감)

  • Analyzing the effects of information technology(IT) in the life insurance Industry is important in establishing the direction for future information technology investment. In this research, the cost-elasticity of IT capital stock was measured by the SUR technique, using the second-order translog cost function, which was drawn out by a Taylor expansion of the multi-product joint cost function. Analysis was made based on data from 1991 to 2003 collected from 33 life insurance firms. The results show that although the effects of information technology investment vary according to individual life insurance firms, half of the life insurance firms surveyed reduced their costs by investing in information technology. The research also revealed that although large life insurance firms reduced their costs by investing in information technology medium & small life insurance firms and foreign ,life insurance firms increase their costs. Additionally, although both information capital and information labor increase as the information budget increases, the increase in information capital is larger than one in information labor. Because the price of information capital is decreased rapidly more than one of information-related labor.

  • Raw materials in steel industry decide on the productivity, quality and price competitiveness. Utilizing iron-containing by-products as raw materials for steel products can save the cost of cleaning up iron-containing by-products and solve environmental issues. Iron-containing by-products have a small particle size. If they are directly inserted in a steel making process, it cause a problem such as poor heat flow and scattering. To solve these problems and induce the additional reduction, study concern with iron ore-coal mixed briquette technique are conducted by many researchers. In this paper, method of making carbon composite briquette iron(CCBI) using iron-containing by-products was studied. The effect of composition of Fe-containing process wastes, reducing agent, flux and binder on formability of CCBI (carbon composite briquette iron) was measured.

  • This paper asks the question: what choice of environmental policy instruments is efficient to reduce sulfur dioxide from stationary sources\ulcorner: In Korea, command and control has been a common way of controlling $SO_2-emissions.$ When compared to the non-incentive environmental policy instrument such as command and control, economic incentive environmental policy instrument has been the advantage of making polluter himself flexibly deals with in marginal abatement cost to develop environmental technology in the long view. Therefore, the application possibility of the incentive environmental policy instrument was studied in this research to realize the countermeasure for controlling of $SO_2-emissions.$ As a result, enforcement of the countermeasure such as flue gas desulfurizer by command and control would be suitable because power generation is performed by the public or for the public in source of air pollution and thus, economic principle is not applied to the polluter. In the source of industrial pollution, enforcement of fuel tax is found to be suitable for the countermeasure for the use of low sulfur oil in terms of the flexibility of demand for the price in the long tenn. For the permissible air pollution standards applicable to all air pollutant emitting facilities, enforcement of incentive environmental policy such as bubble, off-set, banking policy or tradeable emission penn its would be ideal in long terms according to the regional characteristics and the number and scale of air pollutant emitting facilities.

Robotic versus Laparoscopic versus Open Gastrectomy: A Meta-Analysis

  • Purpose: To define the role of robotic gastrectomy for the treatment of gastric cancer, the present systematic review with meta-analysis was performed. Materials and Methods: A comprehensive search up to July 2012 was conducted on PubMed, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Library. All eligible studies comparing robotic gastrectomy versus laparoscopic gastrectomy or open gastrectomy were included. Results: Included in our meta-analysis were seven studies of 1,967 patients that compared robotic (n=404) with open (n=718) or laparoscopic (n=845) gastrectomy. In the complete analysis, a shorter hospital stay was noted with robotic gastrectomy than with open gastrectomy (weighted mean difference: -2.92, 95% confidence interval: -4.94 to -0.89, P=0.005). Additionally, there was a significant reduction in intraoperative blood loss with robotic gastrectomy compared with laparoscopic gastrectomy (weighted mean difference: -35.53, 95% confidence interval: -66.98 to -4.09, P=0.03). These advantages were at the price of a significantly prolonged operative time for both robotic gastrectomy versus laparoscopic gastrectomy (weighted mean difference: 63.70, 95% confidence interval: 44.22 to 83.17, P<0.00001) and robotic gastrectomy versus open gastrectomy (weighted mean difference: 95.83, 95% confidence interval: 54.48 to 137.18, P<0.00001). Analysis of the number of lymph nodes retrieved and overall complication rates revealed that these outcomes did not differ significantly between the groups. Conclusions: Robotic gastrectomy for gastric cancer reduces intraoperative blood loss and the postoperative hospital length of stay compared with laparoscopic gastrectomy and open gastrectomy at a cost of a longer operating time. Robotic gastrectomy also provides an oncologically adequate lymphadenectomy. Additional high-quality prospective studies are recommended to better evaluate both short and long-term outcomes.

  • Korea has operated the export support system of agricultural products for export expansion of agricultural products. Export logistics expenses support program in the export support system is accounted for the largest share. Export logistics expenses support program is, including the export industry promotion of agricultural sector, also in domestic agricultural price stabilization is evaluated to have contributed. However, recently, in a changing Korean International Agricultural Environment, depending on whether the classification of developing countries, so it is displayed differently. If you are classified as developing countries, continued support of export subsidies, which has been promoted to the export sector of agricultural products can be up to a certain period of time. However, if it is not included in the developing countries, support of export logistics costs of agricultural products is abolished. In this study, export logistics cost support in the export sector of agricultural products by analyzing the effect on exports, WTO/DDA agriculture negotiations result, presenting a proposal that is in preparation for the reduction and elimination of export logistics costs to be expected.

Development of Impact Table and optimum combination dedication module for green-remodeling advance business value assessment

  • Purpose: In case of existing building, A lot of attempts are being made like changing thermal system or using high efficiency products to decrease energy load and increase energy efficiency. However, (1) Absence of systemed database of green-remodeling technology and products. (2) Absence of comparative analysis system and qualitative/quantitative evaluation method of energy performance and energy reduction cost. (3) Existing remodeling was very hard to access for non-experts. So, in this paper, the authors developed data base for green-remodeling(Impact Table A, Impact Table B) and optimum combination dedication tool for user convenience. Accordingly, purpose of this paper validate usefulness of Impact Table and optimum alternative dedication tool. Method: For validate the usefulness of Impact Table and optimum combination dedication tool, the authors selected five test model office buildings. Next, through research investigation, the authors diagnosed the present state of buildings. In base of diagnosis results, select technologies for remodeling by qualitative comparison (Impact Table A). Next, evaluate quantitative price and performance technologies that selected in Impact Table A (Impact Table B). Lastly, through final evaluation of Impact Taba A and Impact Table B, determine the direction of the green-remodeling. Result: Impact Table and optimum combination dedication tool can use relative indicator for green-remodeling, especially through ROI by detail field.
