트럭 공차중량, 중앙분리대 피복두께 및 열화수준에 따른 중앙분리대 충돌해석모델의 민감도 분석 (Evaluation of Impact Resistance for Concrete Median Barrier Depending on Vehicle Curb Weight, Concrete Cover Depth and Level of Deterioration)

  • 국내 고속도로 콘크리트 중앙분리대는 SB5-B(270kJ)의 충돌등급에 저항하도록 설계되어 있다. 그러나 최근 대형 화물차량의 충돌사고가 지속적으로 증가하는 경향을 보이고 있어 SB6(420kJ) 등급으로의 상향이 필요하다. 충돌등급 상향을 위한 새로운 중앙분리대 단면을 제시하기 위해서는 실제 충돌시험을 수행하여 기준 통과여부를 결정하며, 충돌시험 수행을 위한 적정 단면을 제시하기 위해서는 충돌해석을 통해 선정한다. 이러한 충돌해석의 정확도 향상을 위해서는 차량 모델, 콘크리트 단면 열화상태, 콘크리트 피복 두께 등 다양한 변수에 대한 정확한 변수 선정이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 공차 중량, 단면 열화, 콘크리트 피복 두께에 대한 변수연구를 수행하여 충돌저항성능 저감을 확인하였다. 전체 중량뿐만 아닌 공차 중량에 따라 중앙분리대의 충돌저항성능에 차이가 있는 것으로 확인되었으며, 10cm 이하의 콘크리트 피복 두께에서는 충돌저항성능이 민감하게 증가 또는 감소한다. 단면 열화가 발생할 경우 중앙분리대의 충돌저항성능의 감소가 발생하여 열화정도에 따른 보수 및 보강이 이루어져야 하는 것으로 판단된다. 따라서 콘크리트 구조물과 차량의 충돌해석을 수행할 경우 트럭의 공차중량 비율, 콘크리트의 피복두께 및 열화에 대한 영향이 상세하게 고려될 필요가 있음을 확인하였다.

The needs for advanced sensor technologies in risk assessment of civil infrastructures

  • Civil infrastructures are always subjected to various types of hazard and deterioration. These conditions require systematic efforts to assess the exposure and vulnerability of infrastructure, as well as producing strategic countermeasures to reduce the risks. This paper describes the needs for and concept of advanced sensor technologies for risk assessment of civil infrastructure in Japan. Backgrounds of the infrastructure problems such as natural disasters, difficult environment, limited resource for maintenance, and increasing requirement for safety are discussed. The paper presents a concept of risk assessment, which is defined as a combination of hazard and structural vulnerability assessment. An overview of current practices and research activities toward implementing the concept is presented. This includes implementation of structural health monitoring (SHM) systems for environment and natural disaster prevention, improvement of stock management, and prevention of structural failure.

  • This paper propose a personalized defection detection and prevention procedure based on the observation that potential defectors have tendency to take a couple of months or weeks. For this purpose, possible states of customer behavior are determined from past behavior data using SOM (Self-Organizing Map). For the evaluation of the proposed procedure, a case study has been conducted for a Korean online game site. The result demonstestes that the proposed procedure can assist defection prevention effectively and detect potential defectors without deterioration of prediction accuracy comparison to prediction by MLP. Our procedure can be applied to various service industries that can capture fluent customer behavior data such as telecommunications, internet access services, and content services, too.

  • The durability of reinforced concrete structures is severely degraded by mainly corrosion due to seawater attack and chloride ion diffusion in concrete. The deterioration of durability causes high repair cost for maintenance of marine concrete structure. In this paper, high-durability materials for prevention of rebar corrosion are investigated to promote the durability in marine concrete structures. For these, the effect of the mineral materials addition(SF, FA and BFS), the modified steel(stainless and coating steel). and corrosion inhibitors are compared.

  • Residential apartment underground structures are being utilized for many purposes such as parking lots, community centers, fitness centers, etc. for efficient use of space. However, there are increasing problems of leakage due to various environmental and deterioration conditions. This paper proposes the development of an information network system which can serve as a base to provide solutions, alternatives and technical information for leakage prevention and effective design at the beginning of the construction stage.

  • Railroad disasters are frequently occurred by man-made causes or natural causes. In general, man-made causes are illegal construction practices, deterioration with the lapse of time and railroad crossing accidents, and natural causes are rainfall. snow, wind, earthquake, etc. Of cause, railroad disasters by man-made causes are prevented from keeping the safety principle, constructing multi-level crossing, securing enough men of ability and financial resources and making a thorough check using equipments with high capacity. And railroad disasters by natural causes are also minimized by construction of disaster prevention facilities, introduction and operation of general disaster prevention system and reasonable train passage control. Therefore, to setup the criterion of train passage control for train safety at railroad bridge under heavy rainfall, risky factors, national and oversea criteria under such circumstances are reviewed and a scheme to setup the criterion is suggested.

콘크리트 구조물의 열화방지를 위한 표면 성능 개선제의 성능 평가 (Evaluation on the Performance of Surface Performance Improving Agent for the Deterioration Prevention of Concrete Structures)

  • 최근 콘크리트 구조물은 염해, 중성화 및 동결융해 등에 의한 내구성능 저하의 사례가 증가하고 있다. 이렇게 내구성능이 저하된 콘크리트에 대한 다양한 대책이 강구되고 있으며, 그 중에서도 콘크리트의 표면을 보호하여 내구성능 저하의 요인을 차단하는 표면처리공법이 많이 사용되고 있다. 그러나 에폭시 등 유기계 및 시멘트계 보수재는 콘크리트의 물성의 차이로 인하여 시간이 경과함에 따라 보수층의 파단 및 들뜸 등 문제가 발생하는 사례가 보고되고 있다. 저자들은 콘크리트의 물성과 동일한 무기계를 주성분으로 한 표면 성능 개선제를 콘크리트에 도포하면, 칼슘이온 등과 반응하여 콘크리트의 조직이 치밀해짐으로써 $CO_2$ 가스, 염소이온 및 물 등 내구성능 저하요인을 차단하는 보수재를 개발하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 개발된 표면성능 개선제의 침투성능, 수밀성능, 통기성능, 화학저항성능, 용출저항 성능 및 열화된 콘크리트에 대한 적용성에 대하여 평가하였다. 그 결과, 표면성능 개선제는 콘크리트의 내부로 10mm 이상 침투되며 콘크리트의 수밀성능 및 통기성능 등을 향상시키는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 본 연구에서 개발된 표면성능 개선제를 콘크리트 구조물에 도포하면 콘크리트의 내구성능 저하를 방지할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

도매시장 화재안전관리 측면에서의 특성 및 취약요소에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Problems and Character for Management of Fire Prevention at the Wholesale Markets)

  • 도매시장은 20년 이상의 노후화 된 건물이 많고, 구조적 특성상 건물의 밀집도가 높아 방화구획 등 연소확대 차단시설 및 소방시설의 설치 곤란, 안전의식의 부재, 불특정다수인의 출입 등으로 인하여 대형화재가 발생할 수 있는 시설이다. 이러한 취약요소 등으로 인하여 수백억원의 재산피해가 발생한 2005년 서문시장 화재, 7명의 사상자가 발생한 2005년 서울 동문상가 도매시장 화재 등 시장에서 대형 화재가 자주 발생하고 있어 이에 대한 대책이 절실한 상황이다. 본 연구에서는 도매시장의 현황 및 구성주체별 특성, 화재사례 및 방재적 특성을 통계자료 등을 통해 도출하였고, 도매시장의 방화관리 현황과 화재안전관리 실태 등을 도매시장 방화관리자 및 종사자를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 방화관리업무의 전문성 확보, 건물의 구조적 취약요소 개선 및 소방시설의 성능적 신뢰성 확보, 시장 종사자 소방교육의 내실화 등이 필요한 것으로 분석되었다.

Retethering : A Neurosurgical Viewpoint

  • During the follow-up period after surgery for spinal dysraphism, a certain portion of patients show neurological deterioration and its secondary phenomena, such as motor, sensory or sphincter changes, foot and spinal deformities, pain, and spasticity. These clinical manifestations are caused by tethering effects on the neural structures at the site of previous operation. The widespread recognition of retethering drew the attention of medical professionals of various specialties because of its incidence, which is not low when surveillance is adequate, and its progressive nature. This article reviews the literature on the incidence and timing of deterioration, predisposing factors for retethering, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, surgical treatment and its complications, clinical outcomes, prognostic factors after retethering surgery and preventive measures of retethering. Current practice and opinions of Seoul National University Children's Hospital team were added in some parts. The literature shows a wide range of data regarding the incidence, rate and degree of surgical complications and long-term outcomes. The method of prevention is still one of the main topics of this entity. Although alternatives such as spinal column shortening were introduced, re-untethering by conventional surgical methods remains the current main management tool. Re-untethering surgery is a much more difficult task than primary untethering surgery. Updated publications include strong skepticism on re-untethering surgery in a certain group of patients, though it is from a minority of research groups. For all of the abovementioned reasons, new information and ideas on the early diagnosis, treatment and prevention of retethering are critically necessary in this era.

Clinical Outcomes of Intracranial Nonvestibular Schwannomas Treated with Linac-Based Stereotactic Radiosurgery and Radiotherapy

  • Background: Intracranial nonvestibular schwannomas arising from various cranial nerves excluding CN VIII are uncommon. Recently, stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) have been widely reported as effective treatment modalities for nonvestibular schwannomas. The purpose of this study was to study the long term clinical outcome for nonvestibular schwannomas treated with both X-Knife and CyberKnife (CK) radiosurgery at one institution. Materials and Methods: From 2004 to 2013, fifty-two nonvestibular schwannoma patients were included in this study, 33 patients (63%) were treated with CK, and 19 (37%) were treated with X-Knife. The majority of the tumors were jugular foramen schwannomas (38%) and trigeminal schwannomas (27%). HSRT was given for 45 patients (86%), whereas CSRT was for 6 (12%) and SRS for 1 (2%). Results: The median pretreatment volume was $9.4cm^3$ (range, $0.57-52cm^3$). With the median follow up time of 36 months (range, 3-135), the 3 and 5 year progression free survival was 94 % and 88%, respectively. Tumor size was decreased in 13 (25%), stable in 29 (56%), and increased in 10 (19%). Among the latter, 3 (30%) required additional treatment because of neurologic deterioration. No patient was found to develop any new cranial nerve deficit after SRS/SRT. Conclusions: These data confirmed that SRS/SRT provide high tumor control rates with low complications. Large volume tumors and cystic expansion after radiation should be carefully followed up with neurological examination and MRI, because it may frequently cause neurological deterioration requiring further surgery.
