Purpose: This study aimed to examine the injury prevention behaviors of school-age children using the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and sought to identify the associated factors. Methods: A sample of 199 students in Grades 3 to 6 and their parents participated in the study. Measures were used to assess injury prevention behaviors, intentions, and parental influence. The data were analyzed using logistic regression analysis. Results: The findings showed that a stronger intention toward injury prevention behavior, living in an urban area, and higher involvement of parent's to prevent injuries were significantly associated with higher levels of injury prevention behaviors among the children. Conclusion: This study highlights the importance of intention, parental influence, and urban residence in promoting injury prevention behaviors among school-age children. The findings suggest the need for tailored interventions targeting these factors to promote prevention of injuries among children. Further research is needed to develop comprehensive strategies to prevent injuries in this population.

Past and current customer behavior is the best predicator of future customer behavior. This paper introduces a procedure on personalized defection detection and prevention for an online game site. The basic idea for our defection detection and prevention is adopted from the observation that potential defectors have a tendency to take a couple of months or weeks to gradually change their behavior (i.e. trim-out their usage volume) before their eventual withdrawal. For this purpose, we suggest a SOM (Self-Organizing Map) based procedure to determine the possible states of customer behavior from past behavior data. Based on this representation of the state of behavior, potential defectors are detected by comparing their monitored trajectories of behavior states with frequent and confident trajectories of past defectors. The key feature of this study includes a defection prevention procedure which recommends the desirable behavior state for the ext period so as to lower the likelihood of defection. The defection prevention procedure can be used to design a marketing campaign on an individual basis because it provides desirable behavior patterns for the next period. The experiments demonstrate that our approach is effective for defection prevention and efficient for defection detection because it predicts potential defectors without deterioration of prediction accuracy compared to that of the MLP (Multi-Layer Perceptron) neural network.
This study was conducted to identify adults' knowledge, attitude, dietary behavior, and lifestyle for cancer prevention, and to examine the relation between these variables. The participants were 414 adults in the Jeonbuk area. The data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficients, ANOVA and Duncan test with SPSS v. 12.0. The score for participants' knowledge about cancer was 23.98 points of a possible 30, the score for attitude towards cancer was 44.46 points of a possible 55, the score for preventive dietary behavior for cancer was 36.79 points of a possible 55, and their score for preventive lifestyle for cancer was 29.76 points of a possible 40. The knowledge, attitude towards cancer, dietary behavior, and lifestyle for cancer prevention showed significant differences according to the general characteristics (e.g., age, religion, monthly income, educational level, job, health condition, and interests). There was a significant positive correlation between knowledge about cancer, attitude towards cancer, dietary behavior, and lifestyle for cancer prevention. Dietary behavior for cancer prevention showed a positive correlation with lifestyle for cancer prevention. In conclusion, it is necessary to consider the related factors for the development and implementation of systematic education programs that can encourage and promote preventive health behavior for cancer among adults.

Objectives: This is an explanatory correlational study to identify the relationship among knowledge, attitudes about cancer, self efficacy and health behavior for cancer prevention in school-age children. Methods: Data were collected from 488 students in grades 5 or 6 who understood the purpose of the study and agreed to participate. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression using SPSS 18.0. Results: There were significant differences in health behavior for cancer prevention between upper 25% and lower 25% group of attitudes about cancer and self efficacy. Result from the multiple regression analysis revealed difference in the related factors and in the magnitude of the relationship evaluated by the standardized beta coefficients. Significant factors, listed by the magnitude of beta coefficients, were self efficacy, attitudes about cancer, perceived health status. These variables accounted for 30.5% of health behavior for cancer prevention. Conclusions: Based on results of the present study, systemic health education about cancer prevention for school-age children is suggested. Further research is necessary in order to draw consensus on roles of the related factors of health behavior for cancer prevention.
The purpose of this study was to develop strategies and policies for smoking prevention that are tailored to the characteristics of different groups of smokers. The structured survey was conducted with regular smokers. The results were as follows: It has been demonstrated that Risk Perception Attitude framework can be used as a major research framework to predict behavioral changes related to the prevention of smoking. The smokers were divided into four attitude groups based on perceived risks and self-efficacy: indifference, proactive, avoidance, and responsive. The smoker groups showed significant differences in information seeking, information avoidance, prevention behavior and addiction degree. Especially, the difference in prevention behavior depended on the self-efficacy when the perceived risk level was high. Information avoidance was the lowest when the perceived risk level was high and the self-efficacy was low. Information seeking was lowest when the perceived risk level was low. When the level of self-efficacy was high, if the perceived risk level was high, prevention behavior was actively performed. Therefore, the self-efficacy was related to preventive behavior, and the perceived low-risk played a role in hindering information seeking. Smoking prevention strategies are important to raise awareness of the risk of smoking and to improve the positive willingness of smokers to quit smoking through self-efficacy.
Purpose: The purpose of this study were to develop a respiratory communicable disease prevention program for preschoolers and measure it's effects. Method: The respiratory communicable disease prevention program for preschoolers consisted of texts, cartoons, photographs, discussions, demonstrations, puzzle games, die games, compensation/reinforcement, and token economy which were directed under the systematic design of instruction by Dick %amp; Carey. This study was a quasi experimental study under the nonequivalent control group with pretest-posttest design. The subjects of this study were 45 preschool children who are attending 3 different district nursery schools and they were matched by the age, pretest knowledge, and pretest behavior. The instrument used in this study was criterion referenced test items that were developed by a researcher for evaluating the subject's knowledge, attitude, and behavior about respiratory communicable disease prevention. A pretest was administered a week before treatment. Experimental group Ⅰ was administered by the treatment of respiratory communicable disease prevention program. Experimental group Ⅱ was administered by above program with token economy program. The posttest was conducted on the eighth day. The third test for behavior was completed 15th day. To determine the effect of the program, the data were analyzed by the SAS 6.12 program with Kruskal Wallis test, ANCOVA, ANOVA, Duncan's test and paired t-test. Result: 1) There was a significant difference in knowledge between the experimental groups and control group(F=5.89, P=0.0197). 2) There was a significant difference in attitude between the experimental groups and control group(F=3.29, P=0.0469). 3) There was a non-significant difference in behavior between the experimental groups and control group(F=0.00, P=0.9512). 4) In the experimental groupⅡ, there was highly significant increase in behavior after token economy(t=4.5252, P=0.0005). Conclusion: It was found that the respiratory communicable disease prevention program for preschool children was effective in changing the preschoolers' knowledge and attitude on the respiratory communicable disease prevention, but not enough for changing the preschoolers' behavior. Token economy was improved as an effective and strong method for inducing desirable changes of preschoolers' behavior.
Purpose: This study aimed to assess college students' knowledge, attitude, and health behavior regarding cancer based on 10 national cancer prevention recommendations and to examine the relation between these variables. Methods: The participants were 189 college students in J city. Data were collected with a questionnaire consisting of items on cancer-related knowledge, attitude toward cancer, and implementation of 10 national recommendations on cancer. The data were analyzed using independent two-sample t-test, one-way analysis of variance, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ multiple comparison test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression(stepwise) analysis with SPSS/WIN 21.0 program (IBM, Armonk, NY, USA). Results: The mean scores for knowledge, attitude, and health behavior were 23.83 points (out of a possible 32), 33.10 points (out of possible 50), respectively. Attitude was positively correlated with health behavior and accounted for 37.7% of cancer prevention health behavior. Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest that the related factors should be considered in the development and implementation of systemic education programs that can encourage and promote cancer prevention health behavior among college students.
Purpose: To examine the effect of a smoking prevention program on changing the knowledge and attitude toward smoking behavior of male middle school students. Method: A total of 69 male middle school students participated in this study. Each of them was assigned to either smoking prevention program (n=35) or to a control group (n=34). The intervention for the experiment group was developed by the investigator. The questionnaires for assessing knowledge and attitude were created by modifying scaled employed in previous studies. Result: 1) The experimental group with smoking prevention program showed higher scores in knowledge for smoking harmfulness in comparison with the control group (F=18.782, p=.000). 2) The experimental group with the smoking prevention program showed lower scores in attitude toward smoking behavior in comparison with the control group (F=17.483. p=.000). Conclusion: The results showed that the smoking prevention program was effective on improving knowledge and attitude toward smoking behavior in male middle school students. More studies on development of comprehensive smoking prevention programs for adolescents need to be conducted in the future.
Purpose: This study was to evaluate the effects of a smoking prevention program among preschool children. Method: This study used a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The participants were 141 preschool children aged 6 or 7 at two childcare centers in Jecheon City, who were divided into an experimental group (n=66) and a control group (n=75). The smoking prevention program was applied through 9 sessions and 30 minutes per session. Surveys were conducted before and after the smoking prevention program to examine the preschoolers' knowledge and attitude toward smoking and smoking coping behavior. Results: There were significant differences between the experimental group and the control group in smoking knowledge (t=-2.02, p=.044) and smoking coping behavior (t=-2.01 p=.047), but smoking attitude (t=-1.20, p=.230) was not statistically significantly different between the two groups. Conclusion: As a result, further research is needed into the long term effects of a smoking prevention program on the future behavior of preschoolers so that the health benefits of early prevention can be quantified. It is necessary for parents to participate actively in influencing preschoolers' attitudes and behaviors with regard to the avoidance of smoking.
Purpose: This study aims to contribute to the research flow on the relationship between win-win supportive collaboration and safety, while noting that win-win supportive collaboration affects corporate safety-related factors such as climate, safety prevention, and behavior from the perspective of domestic small and medium-sized logistics companies that have signed contracts with large logistics companies, Methods: Based on responses from 147 small and medium-sized logistics companies, structural equation modeling is performed to examine the relationship among the factors such as supportive collaboration, safety climate, safety prevention, safety behavior. Results: Study results are as follows. Supportive collaboration of large logistics companies influence the formation of a safety climate and safety behavior within logistics SMEs positively. In addition, safety prevention and safety behavior are affected by safety climate in a positive way. Conclusion: Win-Win supportive collaboration is a driving force behind safety management practices in the supply chain leading to safety management performance, so it is necessary to consider it for the growth of the sustainable supply chain.
