Esophageal cancer is one of the top leading causes of cancer-related deaths in Malaysia. To date, neither the prevalence nor incidence of esophageal cancer nationally have been recorded. Esophageal cancer remains a major and lethal health problem even if it is not common in Malaysia. The late presentation of esophageal cancer makes it a difficult and challenging medical problem. Therefore, more governmental and non-governmental organizations of Malaysia should emphasize primary and secondary prevention strategies.
The dramatic increase in colorectal cancer incidence in the population of East Asia indicates that diet and lifestyle play a role in colorectal cancer risk. Colorectal cancer prevention and etiologic studies have long provided dietary modification strategies for colorectal cancer prevention. In this review, we provide an overview of the epidemiologic evidence on the association between diet and colorectal cancer risk. Several cohort studies and a few intervention studies, most conducted in Western countries, have shown a possible link between red and processed meat, alcoholic beverages, calcium, vitamin D, vitamin B and the Western dietary pattern with colorectal cancer development. For colorectal cancer prevention in both Western and Asian populations, dietary modification is a key component of colorectal cancer prevention.

Purpose: To evaluate the recent incidence and mortality of and scientific research trends in cervical cancer in Mexican females. Materials and Methods: Data between 2000 and 2010 from the Department of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health, and International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) of World Health Organization were analyzed, and age-standardized rates (ASRs) were calculated. In addition, scientific research data were retrieved from the Web of Science database from 2003 to 2012, using different terms related to cervical cancer. Results: The incidence rate decreased during last five years, while mortality rates showed an annual decrease of 4.93%. A total of 780 articles were retrieved, and the institutions with the majority of publications were National Autonomous University of Mexico (34.87%), Social Security Mexican Institute (16.02%), and National Institute of Cancerology (15%). The main types of research were treatment, diagnosis, and prevention. Conclusions: The above results show that incidence of cervical cancer decreased over time in Mexico during last five years; similarly, the downturn observed in mortality mainly reflects improved survival as a result of earlier diagnosis and cancer treatment. Also, this article demonstrates the usefulness of bibliometrics to address key evaluation questions and to establish priorities, define future areas of research, and develop cervical cancer control strategies in Mexico.

Purpose: This study aims to reveal violence victimization of visiting nurses and investigate the coping and prevention strategies adopted by public institutions. Method: The data were collected over three weeks in 2017 using self-report questionnaires from 237 visiting nurses. Data were collected between August 23 and September 15, 2017. Result: Among the respondents, 74.7% had experienced some types of work-related violence during the past year. Verbal abuse (65.4%) was most common, followed by physical threat (46.8%), sexual abuse (43.9%), and physical violence (5.5%). The nurses perceived the most common cause of violation as socio-economic frustration of the offenders vented out on the nurses. Besides, most reported offenders had mental health problems. The two most effective measures to prevent violence faced by the nurses are terminating visiting services for the offenders and implementing the buddy system, which has rarely been used in practice. Conclusion: These findings show that visiting nurses are exposed to a risk of serious abuse in everyday work life, and the nurses themselves or institutions have failed to handle the violence, showing shaky responses at best. Therefore, it is necessary to establish internal regulations and systems at the institutional level that can help prevent violence against visiting nurses.

Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate nursing students' understanding of the prevention of COVID-19, as well as their anxiety towards the disease and their perception of their professional identity in the wake of the pandemic, in Zhengzhou, China. Methods: A cross-sectional study was designed to investigate 474 nursing students by cluster sampling using a stratified questionnaire from February 15 to March 31, 2020. Multiple linear regression was used to identify the factors affecting professional identity. Binary and multiple logistic regression were used to identify the factors affecting anxiety. Results: Responders with a high level of understanding of COVID-19 and frequent use of behavioral strategies for its prevention comprised 93.2% and 30.0% of the cohort, respectively. Professional identity was significantly associated with gender and anxiety (p < .050). The prevalence of anxiety among nursing students was 12.4%. Male (odds ratio [OR] = 2.39; 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.26~4.52), sophomores (OR = 5.30; 95% CI = 1.61~7.45), and infrequent use of prevention measures (OR = 3.49; 95% CI = 1.16~5.19) had a significant effect on anxiety. Conclusion: Anxiety during the COVID-19 epidemic gives an adverse effect on the professional identity of nursing in students.
