Permeating injection is commonly known as an ideal type of injection in grouting reservoir embankment, yet often-combined permeating and fracturing injection grouting operation can disturb the original soil. A grouting method has been regarded as effective and developed to ameliorate the possible disturbance problem. It involves compaction grouting with low expansive pressure near the injection hole and repetitive injection and compaction with grout material that allows ideal permeating injection. This thesis develops Hybrid Grout (ie. HG grout) that allows various application in any ground condition combined together, has high fineness and low viscosity, and expands permeation injection to silty sand. It researches on the injection effect of permeable compaction grout which is done with PC packer and is a combination of HG grout and expansion agent to obtain permeation compaction effect on the area near grout injection spot by developing Permeable Compaction Type Packer(ie. PC packer). As the developed PC packer, HG grout, and and expansion agent (HI-E) are applied to reservoir embankment reinforcement grouting, possibile permeation compaction effect that satisfies reservoir embankment grouting standard is confirmed according to the research.

The Incheon Bridge, which was opened to the traffic in October 2009, is an 18.4 km long sea-crossing bridge connecting the Incheon International Airport with the expressway networks around the Seoul metropolitan area by way of Songdo District of Incheon City. This bridge is an integration of several special featured bridges and the major part of the bridge consists of cable-stayed spans. This marine cable-stayed bridge has a main span of 800 m wide to cross the vessel navigation channel in and out of the Incheon Port. In waterways where ship collision is anticipated, bridges shall be designed to resist ship impact forces, and/or, adequately protected by ship impact protection (SIP) systems. For the Incheon Bridge, large diameter circular dolphins as SIP were made at 44 locations of the both side of the main span around the piers of the cable-stayed bridge span. This world's largest dolphin-type SIP system protects the bridge against the collision with 100,000 DWT tanker navigating the channel with speed of 10 knots. Diameter of the dolphin is up to 25 m. Vessel collision risk was assessed by probability based analysis with AASHTO Method-II. The annual frequency of bridge collapse through the risk analysis for 71,370 cases of the impact scenario was less than $0.5{\times}10^{-4}$ and satisfies design requirements. The dolphin is the circular sheet pile structure filled with crushed rock and closed at the top with a robust concrete cap. The structural design was performed with numerical analyses of which constitutional model was verified by the physical model experiment using the geo-centrifugal testing equipment. 3D non-linear finite element models were used to analyze the structural response and energy-dissipating capability of dolphins which were deeply embedded in the seabed. The dolphin structure secures external stability and internal stability for ordinary loads such as wave and current pressure. Considering failure mechanism, stability assessment was performed for the strength limit state and service limit state of the dolphins. The friction angle of the crushed stone as a filling material was reduced to $38^{\circ}$ considering the possibility of contracting behavior as the impact.
Fabrication and electrical characterization of R. F. High-power unit capacitors were investigated to study on condition of fabrication processing for R. F. High-power unit capacitor and electrical characteristics according to addition of $ZrO_2$. The unit capacitors were fabricated using tape casting. The optimum mixture ratio of dielectrics and mixing binder for the slurry fabrication was 57.5∼60.0: 42.5∼40.0 wt%. The slurry viscosity was 4000∼5000 cps and casting state of green tape fabricated using these slurry was excellent. Optimum stacking was made by 200 kg/$cm^2$ pressure with 80$^{\circ}C$ heating. $ZrO_2$ was added to improve the electrical characteristics of unit capacitor, especially breakdown characteristics. The dielectric constant and loss factor of the unit condenser having different $ZrO_2$ amounts was not changed in the addition range of 1 to 5 wt%. Also, dielectric constant was not changed in the frequency range of 10 to 500 kHz. It was found that characteristics of resistance voltage was improved through the formation of $CaZrO_3$ and the reduction of particle size as about 3wt% $ZrO_2$ was added.

The possibility of a transmission noise reduction of piezoelectric smart panels using piezoelectric shunt damping is experimentally studied. Piezoelectric smart panel is basically a plate structure on which piezoelectric patch with shunt circuits is mounted and sound absorbing materials are bonded on the surface of the structure. Sound absorbing materials can absorb the sound transmitted at mid frequency region effectively while the use of piezoelectric shunt damping can reduce the transmission at resonance frequencies of the panel structure. To be able to reduce the sound transmission at low panel resonances, piezoelectric damping using the measured electrical impedance model is adopted. Resonant shunt circuit for piezoelectric shunt damping is composed of register and inductor in series, and they are determined by maximizing the dissipated energy throughout the circuit. The transmitted noise reduction performance of smart panels is investigated using an acoustic tunnel. The tunnel is a tube with square crosses section and a loud-speaker is mounted at one side of the tube as a sound source. Panels are mounted in the middle of the tunnel and the transmitted sound pressure across panels is measured. Noise reduction performance of a smart panels possessing absorbing material and/or air gap shows a good result at mid frequency region but little effect in the resonance frequency. By enabling the piezoelectric shunt damping, noise reduction of 10dB, 8dB is achieved at the resonance frequencise as well. Piezoelectric smart panels incorporating passive method and piezoelectric shunt damping are a promising technology for noise reduction in a broadband frequency.
This study was carried out to diminish the formation of scale in boilers which is one of the defect elements when they are operating. The defect relating to scale can cause a fatal impact on the explosion of boilers due to the overheating of their tubes, or it can affect the flow of water inside boilers with its bad circulation and result in a disparity of water inside the equipment. Heat transfer in the scale is low comparing to the boiler material, so it can lead to energy losses and has also impact on the global warming. In 2005, the Korean government introduced a system which requires boiler users to install the equipment which can prevent or eliminate the formation of scale to improve the management of water quality in boilers. The study on the techniques for preventing or eliminating the formation of scale started in 1821 and since then subsequently there have been lots of similar studies. The first one was about the scale reduction using potato starch. Since an ultrasonic scale preventer developed by a scientist from a Russian acoustic institute was introduced in1993, a variety of equipment of this kind have been disseminated in Korea. There has been a need to demonstrate the condition for the best performances of such equipment. Boilers are mostly composed of the main body and 288 the tube with a circular curved surface. I carried out a demonstration study on a circular tube which affects the scale defect the most among the boiler components. As a result of it, I found out the fact that the ultrasonic wave needs to reach a certain level of sound pressure and frequency to affect the formation of scale.
Through alkaline hydrothermal activation processes, Na-A type zeolite was synthesized as a single phase with funnel-glass waste from a television tube factory. The autoclaving was performed in a closed teflon vessel in the range of 80~95$^{\circ}$C. The silica-rich solution as a starting material was hydrothermally synthesized with quartz in IN NaOH by heating 350uC under the pressure of 1,500 atm. $NaAlO_2$ was made from NaOH and Al(OHh by heating 95$^{\circ}$C for 2-3 hours and the molar ratios of it were $Na_2O/Al_2O_3$ = 1.4 and $H_2O/Na_2O$=8. The equi-dimensional A type zeolite (1-2 11) was formed by the simple mixing of the silica-rich solution, glass waste and $NaAlO_23$ for 1-3 hours-heating at $80^{\circ}C$. The characterization of the reaction product shows Na-A as a single phase. The synthesized zeolite has cuba-dodecahedral form and $Ca^{2+}$ ion exchange capacity of the Na-A was in the range of 215-220 mequiva1entilOO g.
The Creataceous volcanic rocks distributed in the southeastern part (Kyeongsang basin) of Korea peninsula are composed of basalt, basaltic andesite, andesite, dacite and rhyolite. The variation of major elements show that contents of MgO, CaO, $FeO^T$, $Al_2O_3$, $TiO_2$ and $P_2O_5$ decrease with increasing of $SiO_2$, but $K_2O$ contents are increased slightly, $Na_2O$ widely dispersed. We can show slightly inflection point and low frequency of dacites in range between 63-65 wt.% $SiO_2$, while continuous trend exit in variation diagram. Variation trends in Harker diagrams for the major, minor, trace and REEs suggest that the BAV (basaltic to andesitic volcanics) and DRV (dacitic to rhyolitic volcanics) are not related to a simple crystal fractionation process. In the regime of under 65 wt. % in silica content, fractionation of olivine and clinopyroxene is predominant, while that of plagioclase happens strongly higher than 65 wt.% (e.g., $SiO_2$, vs. Eu and Sr, MgO vs. $Al_2O_3$ and CaO). The latter means low-pressure fractional crystallization for DRV. On the discriminant diagram, DRV are located in more mature environment than BAV. The $(Ce/Sm)_N$ vs. CeN digram shows that these two classes cannot be related to crystal fractionation. If they had been produced by fractionation, although they plotted in a slightly elongate cluster along the same horizontal trend, DRV should lie to the right of these primitive compositions. These diagrams clearly rule out a simple fractionation throughout from BAV to DRV. BAV had been influenced greatly subductiong slab as shown by K/Yb vs. Ta/Yb. We suggest that BAV primitive magma generated higher degree of partial melting than DRV primitive magma. LILE (K, Ba, $Rb{\pm}Th$) enriched characteristics as shown in BAV are inherited from subducting slab fluids and/or higher degree of partial melting of mantle material. However, lower degree of partial melting of mantle relative to BA V and contamination at high-level magma reservoir caused LILE enrichment to DRV.
See-through hollow cathode glow discharge cell has been developed for the trace analysis of metal ions. The systems consists of new glow discharge cell improved the cooling system. In the case of previous type of hollow cathode glow discharge cell, it had been utilized for the trace analysis of metal ions but it had a problem that the plasma becomes unstable by air-cooled device. In this study, the modified hollow cathode glow discharge cell has been developed in order to minimize the problem associated with the air-cooled device. thus the stability of the plasma with water-cooling device has been improved and also the higher plasma temperature has been measured. The fundamental characteristics of modified systems have been investigated. And the discharge parameters, such as discharge pressure, material, and diameter of cathode, have been studied to find optimum discharge conditions.
C,H,OH system is widely used for producing synthetic beverages and pharmaceuticals. Calcium hydroxide suspension was used to callhol the morphology of calcium carbonate, and the charactenstics of the formahan and crystsllizatian of calcium cilrbonate by adding ethylenc glycol were determined A reaclor was made with attaching a ceramic bubble plate, and lhe eleclrical conductivity was continously monitored during the rcaction with CO, gas. A part of the suspension was separated and powdered at the transition point. XRD and electron microscopic observation showed that the intermedmte and final products were vilterite, ;~r;lganite and calcite. In this study, the volumc of the ethylene glycol added to CH,OH was fixed a1 10 vol\ulcornerh. The valumc of the suspension was 500 ml, and the changes oi characteristics were shdied along with variims cnntents(l0-50 g) of calcium hydroxide. Except m the case of 10 g of calcium hydroxide at the crystallization stagc, all of products showed gelation. Tne marc the calcium hydroxide the shorter the formation time. Alsa. the farmalion of spherical valcrile ivas obsemcd when 30 g Ca(OH), was added. Tne vaterite(a compound material) can bc synthesised under alnbienl pressure and lempcmhre m a C,H,OH system by morphology control. Even though the vateritc was meta-stable phasc and could bc changed to calcitc easily, the stable and spherical vateritc was observed by using G5 glass fillers and vacuum dricrs.

In this study, to solve the problems of the conventional crack repair and injection method, high elasticity latex was used as the material of the storage tube to withstand the high pressure in the center part differently from the general port. When the repair solution was injected into the crack part, The TPS method was developed so that the air existing in the TPS can be discharged. In addition, a new infusion port in which a valve blocking the backflow of the remediation solution was installed at the injection port was developed and the physical characteristics of the port were analyzed. As a result of the evaluation, it was found that the filling rate of the remedial solution was improved compared to the existing ordinary injector method, and the cracks were completely filled in the test conditions. Compressive strength and tensile strength after repair showed about 20% decrease after repair in case of using ordinary injector method, while TPS method showed about 2~7% increase after repair. The results of this study showed that the injection port method using the elastic storage tube increased the injection performance and the quality after repair compared to the conventional injector method. The result of this study is expected to be utilized as the basic data for application and commercialization of the result to the practical structure.
