Life Cycle Assessment on Food Waste Treatment Systems - biogasification and composting -

  • A case study of foodwaste treatment was conducted to compare the impacts of four scenarios: incineration, incineration after biogasification, biogasification followed by composting, and composting. Potential contributions to climate change, acidification, consumption of landfill and human toxicity were assessed. Characterization of human toxicity caused by metals and PCDD/DF was performed by three multimedia fate models. Scenarios with a biogasification process showed lower impact on climate change and human toxicity. The ranking of four scenarios on human toxicity varied depending on the characterization models applied. The steady state models placed high priority on emission of heavy metals to farmland, whereas the dynamic model estimated the emission of PCDD/DF from the incineration process as more significant.

도서관자료(圖書館資料) 보존(保存)에 관한 연구(硏究) (A Study on the Conservation of Library Materials)

  • The history of recording and conserving for maintenance the human's memory from ancient times to modern's has brought about a lot of changing process of the recorded information media with developing in culture, and each society has made important recorded materials in his library as essentially the social apparatus. But most of them that were damaged by factors of the natural disaster, humidity, temperature, light, fungi and insects in the library, and were resulted in deterioration and losing the numerous materials. For removing the inevitable phases repeated, there are studying for counterplan of the fundamental environment factors about preservation, restoration and chemical research of materials in advanced countries, but I get a few researches about protecting the cultural properties. Therefore I research the survey of the actual conditions on 72 university libraries centering around them, and then I have researched the collection rate 81 percent, 58 university libraries. (local : 35, in seoul : 23) As the result of this research, I propose the model of the environment factors of conserving the library materials. 1) To apply the equipment of processing the radiant energy to the new construction and buildings. 2) To remove factors that occur fungi and insects by facilities being controlled relative humility, temperature, and to equip the ventilation arrangement in the library. 3) To shelve all acquired and bound materials after proceeding the vacuum fumigator. 4) Those who want to enter into the library stack were surely taken in sterilzing their hands and shoes, and must put on the gown. 5) To use the vacuum dusting thing (machine) for removing the dust without spreading out the floor of the library at any time. 6) To set up the gas automatic fire extinguisher worked by smoke sensor. 7) To assist the research into the preservation, natures and environment of recorded materials, and to supply financial funds for librarian. 8) To hold regularly the workshop be able to educate the methods of preservation materials by the constant system. (Library Association) 9) To add to responsibilities on certification of preservation materials for librarian. 10) To hold the constant committee system in each library. 11) To keep up with the ideal environment (humidity, temperature, light, ventilation, etc.) of preservation materials in the arrangement room, and to put on the gown.

개발과 환경보전의 상관관계 (Interrelationship between New Development and Preservation of the Environment)

  • There are five suggestions on interrelationship between Hew Development and Preservation of the Environment. First, it is necessary to make the Perservation of the Environment the prime object of the national land development instead of the New Development. Second, the planners and the designers of the land (or city) must sufficiently understand the concepts that make friends with environment. Third, a policy planners need to understand the concepts that make friends with environment and the concepts must be involved when the policy is projected. Fourth, the criteria to evaluate the quality of the New Development must be changed from only the beautiful ones to both the beautiful and the ecological ones. finally, it is necessary to decide on the policy of the environment in cooperation with the developer and the preserver in consideration of economic, environment, and development indicators.

박물관 환경디자인에 관한 기초적 연구(1)-유물의 수장화 과정과 공간특성을 중심으로- (A basic study on the Environmental Design of Museum(1)-Focusing on the Preservation Process of Collections and Characteristic of Space-)

  • Preservation space is a functionally$\ulcorner$core$\lrcorner$in a museum. Gernerally, it is a common view that collections are exhibited within 5% of total stored collections. So that, part of collections are cycled exhibition space centering around preservation space, and that is a important mechanism of collections circulation in a museum. It is the best way that collections should be $\ulcorner$conserve$\lrcorner$ in a stable condition, but inevitably collections are exposed as stable condition, but inevitably collections are exposed as called $\ulcorner$exhibition$\lrcorner$. For that reason the function of $\ulcorner$exhibition$\lrcorner$. For that reason the function of $\ulcorner$exhibition$\lrcorner$for 'showing' and the function of $\ulcorner$preservation$\lrcorner$for 'conserve'are contrary to each other's concept, so it is principle of scheme that these concepts should be functionally connected with and planned$\ulcorner$match$\lrcorner$. In addition, various studies (for example, comparative analysis of collections, examination of collections for conserved condition or special exhibition, and classification of new item, etc.) are worked in preservation space. Therefore, preservation space should not be considered as a warehouse, should be composed not only$\ulcorner$comfortable place to rest of collections$\lrcorner$but also $\ulcorner$part of study room$\lrcorner$in a museum. So that, environment of museum should be established by plan to preservation and management. The point of plan to museum is that minimize dangerous element for collections, and then develop an essencial element of space for$\ulcorner$conservation$\lrcorner$and$\ulcorner$exhibition$\lrcorner$. The reason why with a few exceptions (buildings which have being exposed or extremely minor part of collections) most of collections have been lasting its life during over hundreds of years with adapting itself to natural features, so scheme of preservation facilities should be made up with understanding and analysis generic character of collections, and then establish proper temperature and humidity environment.

도서관 및 기록관 자료보존프로그램에 관한 고찰 (A Study on the Preservation Programs in Libraries and Archives)

  • 도서관과 기록관에 소장되어 있는 자료들은 시간이 지남에 따라 그 보존 환경과 자료 자체가 가지는 특성에 따라 훼손과 열화가 확대되고 가속화되는 현상을 보인다. 이는 당장은 사소한 정보 손실에 불과할 수 있겠지만 장기적으로는 인류 문명의 쇠퇴로까지 이어질 수 있는 심각한 문제의 시작이 될 수 있다. 귀중한 자료의 수명을 연장시키고 그것을 안정적으로 보존하기 위해서는 기관의 사명, 규모, 소장자료의 성격, 이용자, 예산 등을 종합적으로 고려한 통합적인 자체 자료보존프로그램의 개발과 실행이 이루어져야 한다. 그러나 현실적으로 대부분의 기관들은 예산, 인력, 전문성의 부족으로 완벽한 자료보존프로그램을 실행할 수 없는 상황에 처해 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 일부 기관들은 비슷한 상황에 처해 있는 기관들끼리 혹은 좀더 광범위하고 체계적인 조직 차원에서 협력체제를 구축하고 보존프로그램을 시행하는 방안들을 모색하고 있다. 이러한 협력체제는 공동의 이익은 물론 자관의 현실적 이익을 추구하는 데도 상당한 도움을 줄 수 있다. 그러므로 각 기관은 자체적인 자료보존프로그램 개발과 더불어 지역, 국가, 국제적인 수준의 다양한 자료보존프로그램을 개발하고 실행할 수 있도록 서로 협력해야 할 것이다.

농촌지역주민의 환경보전 의식구조에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Consciousness of Rural Community Residents' Environment Preservation)

  • The objectives of this study were: (a) to measure the level of rural community residents' environmental preservation consciousness, (b) to identify the variables related to their level of environmental preservation consciousness, and (c) to provide suggestions to improve their environmental preservation consciousness. The major findings of this study were as follows; 1) Personal characteristics- gender, years of education, age, and income- were related to the rural communities residents' the environmental preservation consciousness. 2) Social characteristics- membership in environmental organizations, participation in environmental preservation campaigns, environmental dispute within their communities, experiences of participation in environmental dispute in their communities, participation in environmental education-were related to the rural community residents' the environmental preservation consciousness. Based on the above findings, the following suggestions are offered: 1) To improve rural community residents' environmental preservation consciousness, residents in rural community should be motivated and encouraged to participate in environmental and agriculture-related organizations. 2) To effectively solve environmental disputes among rural community residents and between rural communities, central and local governments should provide opportunities for rural residents to acquire their sound environmental consciousness. 3) Environmental preservation consciousness should be assessed including affective domain, cognitive domain, and behavioral domain. Appropriate environmental education programs should be developed after considering rural residents' personal characteristics including education level, income, gender, years of residency, and are.

대학생의 환경친화적 소비자 행동과 환경의식적 시민행동 성향 - 청주시 대학생을 중심으로 - (Pro-environmental Consumer and Environmentally Conscious Citizen Behavior Tendency of University Students in Cheongju)

  • This paper was written to find the tendency of pro-environmental consumer behavior and environmentally conscious citizen behavior of university students. The difference between two behavioral tendencies were existed and variables influenced on those tendencies each other. The results were as follows: 1. The pro-environmental consumer behavior of university students was consisted of five tendencies, such as practice in life, environment preservation, environment consideration, patience in uncomfortableness and diversity in circumstances. 2. The environmentally conscious citizen behavior of University students were consisted of four tendencies, such as environment contamination, self-centered, resource economy, pollution reduction. 3. The pro-environmental consumer behavior tendencies of university students were inconsistent with those of environmentally conscious citizen behavior. 4. The variables influenced on those tendencies were sex, concern in environment problem and living condition.
