The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the manipulative materials in the Australian Maths 300 program by applying it to Korean Elementary Mathematics Education - based on parts of 'Probability and Statistics', and 'Symbol and Expression'. In order to this purpose, we select appropriate Maths 300's manipulate materials that could be used to obtain learning objectives within class time for each part, four lessons with the materials were taught at to third, fourth, and fifth grade students of elementary School. The effect of the teaching was analyzed by videotape and student opinion. The results of this study are the following: First, the manipulative tools were almost entirely lacking for the 'Probability and Statistics' section without a 'number of cases' unit. The tools presented in the 'Symbol and Expression' section were helpful in the games that were used for checking preceding learning. Second, the results of using the Math 300 manipulative materials in class showed that the students were eager to be involved in the activities using those materials and to find their own solutions in problem-solving questions that were suited to them; these led to them making their own questions. In response to questioning about the use of the manipulative materials, the students stated that it was easy and fun for them to use the manipulative materials, to solve the problems for themselves, and that they would like to continue practicing the activities in the future. Finally, Studies on the presentation of a variety of manipulative materials including those in this study that can used in problem-solving learning and other learning fields, and the methodology for the use of manipulative materials can be enhanced through further studies.

In this study, when applying the 'geological structure' content element of high school earth science I developed according to the 2015 curriculum to the STEAM program using a web-based expert system using 3D data of Google Earth and drones, the creative problem-solving ability of high school students, attitudes toward STEAM, and the results of this study are as follows. First, after applying the STEAM program, high school students' creative problem-solving ability showed meaningful results at the p<.001 level. Second, STEAM attitudes showed a significant value at the p<.001 level, confirming that they had a positive impact on high school students' attitudes towards STEAM. It was judged that web-based class activities using Google Earth and drones were useful for integrated thinking such as learners' sense of efficacy and value recognition for usefulness of knowledge. High school students' satisfaction with the STEAM program was 3.251, showing a slightly high average. It was confirmed that web-based class activities such as drones and Google Earth had a positive impact on learners' class satisfaction. However, it was interpreted that the lack of time for class activities limited the ability of the learners to increase their interest in class. The proposal of this research is as follows. First of all, in consideration of the production of presentation materials and practical training in the STEAM program, activities such as block time and advance instruction for class understanding before class are necessary. Secondly, in order to revitalize STEAM education in the high school curriculum, we judge that research on the development of various integrated education programs that can be applied to the high school grade system is necessary.
Constructive learning is an active process of meaning construction and students decide their individual learning objectives according to their own interest concern and ability. The purpose of this study is to develop a teaching-learning model and classroom materials from constructivist perspectives and to apply them to an elementary school classroom in Seoul for one month. In this study, it was reorganized the contents of unit of 'beds and fossils' based on the discussion between students and teacher during the second semester of 4th grade class. The teaching-learning model consists of five steps: 1) introduction; 2) exercise; 3) presentation; 4) consensus; and 5) development. The implementation results were summarized.
This paper emphasizes writing education for engineering students should be communication driven writing education based on KEC2005. Communication driven writing for engineering students is essentially same as Technical Writing(TW) developed on the basis of ABET. Considering the current writing capability of engineering students and social need for various types of writing, TW education should be divided into two courses: basic and advanced. This paper deals with contents of a basic TW course in Myongji University, as a model case of a basic TW course for engineering students. It underlines various methods of prewriting that should be stressed and practiced in the TW class, because the prewriting step in the writing process determines the overall direction and structure of an essay. In particular, this paper introduces Power Writing(PW) which uses the structure of a paragraph as a means for providing building-blocks for the essay, employing logic, and ordering information arrangement in a paragraph. This paper also deals with important guidelines about sentence structure and word selection and proposes various applications of TW such as resume, interview, proposal, report, and presentation as a latter part of the basic course. Finally this paper highlights the etics of writing, such as plagiarism and the basic principles of quotation.

The aim of this thesis was to develop PBL(Problem-Based-Learning) problems to supply the problems to classes and to confirm the effectiveness of PBL for PBL applications to element design in engineering schools. Modern industrial society needs competent people with abilities in cooperative learning, self-controlling learning, united knowledge application, and creative problem-solving. Universities need to offer opportunities for improving the problem-solving ability and cooperative learning to learners to train competent people that society demands. PBL activity is a proper learning method for the execution of the above offer. The study subjects were 32 sophomore students in H University who took 'Engineering design 1', which is Element design. Five PBL problems were applied to the class for 15 weeks. They wrote and submitted a reflective journal when they finished the every given PBL activity. In addition, they wrote a class evaluation form after the $5^{th}$ PBL problem's activity ended. The study showed that the students experienced the effectiveness of PBL in many fields, such as the comprehension of the studied contents(71.87%), the comprehension of cooperative learning (87.5%), authentic experience, problem-solving skills (90.63%), presentation skills (96.87%), communication ability, self-directed study ability, and confidence (96.87%). The students realized that PBL learning activities are important because students could develop into future intelligent engineers that modern industrial society demands through PBL learning activities.

This thesis aims to develop PBL (Problem-Based-Learning) problems. Its goal is for some groups of students to creative their own problems and to confirm the effectiveness of PBL as they apply it to AI (Artificial Intelligence) in engineering schools. Modern industrial society needs competent people who have abilities in cooperative learning, self-controlled learning, united knowledge application, and creative problem-solving. Universities need to offer their students the opportunity to improve their problem-solving and cooperative learning abilities in order to train the competent people that society demands. PBL activity is an appropriate learning method for the accomplishment of these goals. The study subjects are 37 sophomore students in H University who are studying 'AI'. Five PBL problems were submitted to the class over a period of 15 weeks. The students wrote and submitted a reflective journal after they finished each PBL activity. In addition, they filled out a class evaluation form to assess the performances of each member when the $5^{th}$ PBL problem activity was accomplished. The study shows that the students experienced the effectiveness of PBL in many fields, such as the comprehension of the studied contents (86.48%), comprehension of cooperative learning (94.59%), authentic experience (75.67%), problem-solving skills (89.18%), presentation skills (97.29%), creativity improvement (81.08%), knowledge acquisition ability (86.48%), communication ability (97.29%), united knowledge application (78.37%), self-directed study ability (86.48%) and confidence (97.29%). Through these methods, the students were able to realize that PBL learning activities play an important role in their learning. These methods prepare and enhance their ability to think creatively, work systematically and speak confidently as they learn to become competitive engineers equipped with the knowledge and skills that modern industrial society demands.

This paper applied to the economics subject using PBL(Problem-Based Learning) for improving students many skills in Mongolian University that 21st century demands. For the first time at Mongolian University, the PBL problem was developed for the use of PBL and applied to the class and confirmed its effectiveness. The study subjects were 60 freshman students in D university who took 'Economics'. We applied 5 problems for 16 weeks. Students wrote and submitted a reflective journal when they finished the every activity. In addition, they completed a class evaluation form after the PBL program ended. The study showed that they experienced various effects such as understanding of learning contents, understanding of cooperative learning, practical experience, creative problem solving ability, presentation skill, communication ability, self- directed learning ability, self - confidence. In the PBL learning activities, the learning environment was not well prepared yet, so some difficulties were encountered. Mongolian students perceived it as a new and effective way to develop their expertise as a future leader in the 21st century. The main goal of Mongolian university is to produce leaders with professional talent with creative problem solving ability and active learning direction.

Problem development is important to Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and is key to the creativity and problem-solving skills of successful learners. The purpose of this study is to have PBL classes that effectively materialize problem development stages, and to develop learning using problems suitable for elementary school English Science classes. In this study, the steps for developing the problems are identifying educational content, identifying learners' characteristics, discovering problems, setting up roles and situations, and writing problems. Based on these steps, five PBL problems were developed by selecting a subject suitable for the PBL method of an English Science class, which is one of the English curriculums in elementary schools. Creative thinking, problem-solving skills, presentation skills, confidence, self-directed learning, cooperation, and communication skills are required in the rapidly changing society of the 21st century, rather than teacher-centered instruction, acquiring knowledge for correct answers only, and uniform assessments, which still take place in many English education settings. Therefore, developing problems suitable for PBL learning should be continuously studied.
This study is a case study designed to create and implement a project-based introduction to nursing science, with the aim of analyzing students' experiences and perceptions following its implementation. The study targeted a total of 95 nursing students at G University in S City who enrolled in the introduction to nursing science course in 2021 and 2022. Data collection took place from September 2021 to December 2022, and data analysis involved examining reflective journals submitted by students after completing the project activities, using content analysis. The research results revealed four categories and nine themes. The four categories were 'Making Challenging Studies More Accessible,' 'Engaging and Enjoyable Learning Experiences,' 'Enhanced Teamwork,' and 'Presentation Limitations.' The project-based learning method was found to be effective and applicable in nursing education, demonstrating positive effects on students' attitudes and learning outcomes. However, since the study focused on students from a single university, it is suggested that future research include repeated studies and extend the application to other nursing courses to validate its effects.

Nowadays, there have been an increasing number of illegal use cases where people try to fabricate the working hours by using fake fingerprints. So, the fingerprint liveness detection techniques have been actively studied and widely demanded in various applications. This paper proposes a new method to detect fake fingerprints using CNN (Convolutional Neural Ntworks) based on the patches of fingerprint images. Fingerprint image is divided into small square sized patches and each patch is classified as live, fake, or background by the CNN. Finally, the fingerprint image is classified into either live or fake based on the voting result between the numbers of fake and live patches. The proposed method does not need preprocessing steps such as segmentation because it includes the background class in the patch classification. This method shows promising results of 3.06% average classification errors on LivDet2011, LivDet2013 and LivDet2015 dataset.
