  • The objective of this study is to develop optimal alternative selection model for renewing building equipments system. Cost Breakdown Structure of LCC in HVAC systems are deduced from resonable data and factors. As for Cost Breakdown Structure of LCC in HVAC system, pertinent level, title, CBS number, and block number are determined efficiently. Especially, in addition to current cost factor, it is possible to make Cost Breakdown Structure using present worth method more clear. A model of POWER LCC ver 1.0 used to analyze primary cooling system, heating system, and air conditioning system are POWER LCC ver 1.0_/sub SYSTEM/ : C1+ C2- C3+ C4+ C5+ C6+ C7±C8+ C9- C10/sub -1/+ C10/sub -2/+ C10/sub -3/, and is implemented with consideration of Cost Breakdown Structure and their summation using present-worth method. It is programmed with one of scientific languages, MATLAB 5.3.

  • The decision maker has the job of torecasting capital investments and operating expenses to aid the decision making in choosing and evaluating present and future alternatives. The estimating function eventually analysis, evaluates and choose the alternatives. The analysis stemmed originally from a preliminary design of some sort, and eventually plans are started to investigate investment possibilites. This study provide the descounted cash flow and the present worth method. Despite any choice of an analytical method, there remains the problem of predicting certain future events. Therefore, these models dealing with optimum plant sizing, equipment replacement, and lease or buy will be discussed.

내부수익률을 이용한 수익률분석법에 대한 이해 (Understanding of a Rate of Return Analysis using an IRR)

  • A capital investment problem is essentially one of determining whether the anticipated cash inflows from a proposed project are sufficiently attractive to invest funds in the project. The net present value(NPV) criterion and internal rate of return(IRR) criterion are widely used as means of making investment decisions. A positive NPV means the equivalent worth of the inflows is greater than the equivalent worth of outflows, so, the project makes profit. Business people are familiar with rates of return because they all borrow money to finance ventures, even if the money they borrow is their own. Thus they are apt to use the IRR in preference to the NPV. The IRR can be defined as the discount rate that causes the net present value of a cash flow to equal zero. Why the project are accepted if the project's IRR is greater than the investor's minimum attractive rate of return\ulcorner Against the NPV, the definition cannot distinctly explain the concept of the IRR as decision criterion. We present a new definition of the IRR as the ratio of profit on the invested capital.

선박 평형수 처리 장치의 선내 배치를 위한 경제성 평가 연구 (A Study on the Economic Analysis for Ballast Water Treatment System)

  • Various kinds of ballast water treatment systems (BWTS) have been developed corresponding to reinforced IMO rules for marine environment. Some of them got the certificate of IMO and others are waiting for it. Selection of optimum BWTS is very important. Optimum BWTS means not only functional requirements but also economic efficiency. This paper presents economic analysis model for optimum BWTS according to ship type and size. In this study 10 kinds of BWTS whose initial installation cost and maintenance cost are known are analyzed based on present worth method. It is assumed that all BWTS satisfy minimum functional requirements and we need to consider different economical efficiency. Through the economic analysis we could select optimum BWTS.

Dynamic rod worth measurement method based on eqilibrium-kinetics status

  • KHNP had licensed Dynamic Control rod Reactivity Measurement (DCRM) method using detector current signals of PWRs in 2006. The method has been applied to all PWRs in Korea for about 15 years successfully. However, the original method was inapplicable to PWRs using low-sensitivity integral fission chamber as ex-core detectors because of their pulse pile-up and the nonlinearity of the mean-square voltage at low power region. Therefore, to overcome this disadvantage, a modified method, DCRM-EK, was developed using kinetics behavior after equilibrium condition where the pulse counts maintain the maximum value before pulse pile-up. Overall measurement, analysis procedure, and related computer codes were changed slightly to reflect the site test condition. The new method was applied to a total of 15 control rods of 1000 MWe and 1400 MWe PWRs in Korea with worths in the range of 200 pcm -1200 pcm. The results show the average difference of -0.4% and the maximum difference of 7.1% compared to the design values. Therefore, the new DCRM-EK will be applied to PWRs using low sensitivity integral fission chambers, and also can replace the original DCRM when the evaluation fails by big noises present in current or voltage signals of uncompensated/compensated ion chambers.

  • The failure of LCC analysis is recognized as a serious risk for companies in fast-paced business environment. LCC analysis has been mentioned and analyzed only in accounting perspectives, but recently engineering perspectives of LCC analysis based on the execution of appropriate procedures become more important than the accounting perspectives. Especially, the practical use of reliability engineering related methodologies is recognized as a key factor for the LCC analysis. For the practical use of reliability methods, LCC analysis for unexposed problems is a key issue, and utilizing FMEA and FTA techniques is needed to solve the unexposed problems. Reliability, maintainability, availability, and safety should be evaluated by the LCC analysis with the reliability methods, so we study methodologies for the LCC analysis. Present Worth can be calculated by multiplication of Annual Equivalent Cost and PWAF. Reliability engineering related methods are needed for the process of dividing Present Worth into PWAF, and the practical use of reliability methods can improve accuracy of LCC analysis.

  • 태양열 주택 및 급탕의 보급 정책은 민수용 에너지의 절감 또는 대체의 의미에서 그 필요성 및 당위성을 인정받고 있으나, 다른 대체에너지와 마찬가지로 태양열 이용시스템의 경제성이 가상 문제가 되고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 태양열 주택 및 급탕의 경제성을 상세히 분석함으로써 실질적인 보급정책 자료를 제공하며, 실수요자를 위한 계몽근거를 마련하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 태양열 이용시스템의 경제성을 정확히 수행하기 위한 의사결정지원 시스템(decision support system)을 확립시켰으며, 이에 따른 태양열 이용시스템의 열적성능 해석과 동시에 경제성 분석은 시행오차(trial & error)하에 수행할 수 있도록 각종전산 프로그램을 개발하였다. 태양열 주택 및 급탕의 열적성능 해석은 모의실험을 통하여 기상 조건과의 상관관계를 도출하고 태양열 이용시스템의 추가비용 및 연료가 이용을 현재가 (present worth) 개념으로 적응하여 산출하고, 순익분기 해석법 (break-even point analysis method) 및 수명가 산정법(life-cycle cost analysis method)으로 경제성 분식을 중점적으로 수행하였다.

  • The purpose of this study is to compare the economics between a diesel propulsion vessel and a LNG fuel propulsion vessel through the analysis of the present value using the LCC(Life Cycle Cost) method. This study is also to judge the economics for long-term operation of a LNG fuel propulsion vessel as a result of analysis about the equivalent uniform annual cost. In particular, LCC method was strengthened by sensitivity analysis based on combined interest rate which is considering discount rate and inflation rate simultaneously.

  • This study shows that the SWOT is efficient to select a factor which is valuable as worth consideration when a decision making is necessary. Such processing of information is able to present the policy for the development of bio-industry in northern area of Kyonggi province, and create the pragmatic value and effect in carrying out the policy. The object of this study is to survey present conditions, to analyze the development of bio-industry in northern area of Kyonggi province by the decision making method of the SWOT model, to suggest a plan for the prospect of continued development field and the location of industry, and to extract fundamental data for establishment of annual action and investment plan which can develop bio-industry.

  • Considering the present development situation of rental apartment since 1982, the supply of rental housing for low-income dwellers has contributed a amount of quantities, but has been deficient qualities in housing policy. To propose the device of remodeling for low-income dwellers in deteriorated apartment, this study investigated the energy consumption of central heating system and the characteristics of maintenance cost in permanent rental apartment. The results of evaluation of alternative heating systems by Life Cycle Costing in permanent rental apartment were as follows; From Life Cycle 15∼20 years by Present Worth Method, the economic heating system of remodeling is central heating system (heat source: B-C oil), unit heating system(natural gas), central heating system(natural gas) in order.
