미세조류 이미지 품질 성능 향상을 위한 최적 전처리방법 선정 연구 (Evaluating optimal preprocessing method for separation of microalgae colonies into single cells for image quality)

  • In this study, various pre-treatment methods were evaluated for microalgae separation. These methods aimed to facilitate safe, rapid, and cost-effective online imaging for real-time observation and cell counting. As pre-treatment techniques, heating, chemical hydrolysis, heating combined with chemical hydrolysis, and sonication were employed. The effectiveness of these methods was evaluated in the context of online imaging quality through experimentation on cultivated microalgae (Chlorella vulgaris and Scenedesmus quadricauda). The chemical treatment method was found to be inappropriate for improving image acquisition. The heating pre-treatment method exhibited a drawback of prolonged cell dispersion time. Additionally, the heating combined with chemical hydrolysis method was confirmed to have the lowest dispersion effect for Chlorella vulgaris. Conversely, ultrasonication emerged as a promising technique for microalgae separation in terms of repeatability and reproducibility. This study suggests the potential for selecting optimal pre-treatment methods to effectively operate real-time online monitoring devices, paving the way for future research and applications in microalgae cultivation and imaging.

유한요소해석을 통한 현장 가열 재활용 시공 장비의 가열판 용량에 따른 아스팔트 포장의 열전도성 평가 (Finite Element Analysis of Heat Transfer Effects on Asphalt Pavement Heated by Pre-Heater Unit Used in Hot In-Place Recycling)

  • PURPOSES: The national highways and expressways in Korea constitute a total length of 17,951 km. Of this total length of pavement, the asphalt pavement has significantly deteriorated, having been in service for over 10 years. Currently, hot in-place recycling (HIR) is used as the rehabilitation method for the distressed asphalt pavement. The deteriorated pavement becomes over-heated, however, owing to uncontrolled heating capacity during the pre-heating process of HIR in the field. METHODS: In order to determine the appropriate heating method and capacity of the pre-heater at the HIR process, the heating temperature of asphalt pavement is numerically simulated with the finite element software ABAQUS. Furthermore, the heating transfer effects are simulated in order to determine the inner temperature as a function of the heating system (IR and wire). This temperature is ascertained at $300^{\circ}C$, $400^{\circ}C$, $500^{\circ}C$, $600^{\circ}C$, $700^{\circ}C$, and $800^{\circ}C$ from a slab asphalt specimen prepared in the laboratory. The inner temperature of this specimen is measured at the surface and five different depths (1 cm, 2 cm, 3 cm, 4 cm, and 5 cm) by using a data logger. RESULTS: The numerical simulation results of the asphalt pavement heating temperature indicate that this temperature is extremely sensitive to increases in the heating temperature. Moreover, after 10 min of heating, the pavement temperature is 36%~38% and 8%~10% of the target temperature at depths of 25 mm and 50 mm, respectively, from the surface. Therefore, in order to achieve the target temperature at a depth of 50 mm in the slab asphalt specimen, greater heating is required of the IR system compared to that of the gas. CONCLUSIONS : Numerical simulation, via the finite element method, can be readily used to analyze the appropriate heating method and theoretical basis of the HIR method. The IR system would provide the best heating method and capacity of HIR heating processes in the field.

800 MPa급 무예열 용접재료의 폭파변형성능에 관한 연구 (Investigation on Explosion Bulge Test Results of 800 MPa Grade Pre-heat Free Welding Consumables)

  • The Cu-bearing PFS-700 steel which has yield strength over 700 MPa was developed to replace the existing submarine structural material, HY-100. The PFS-700 steel has a combination of good mechanical properties and superior weldability. Becaus of that, it can be welded without pre-heating. The application of PFS-700 steel to submarine or battle ship will give a great reduction of cost by omitting pre-heating or lowering pre-heat temperature. To develop pre-heating free welding consumables that match and take advantage of PFS-700 steel, new welding consumables have been designed for the GMAW, SAW processes and explosion bulge test(EBT) was conducted to see the reliability of welded structure. All welds were made without pre-heating, and the inter-pass temperature was below $50^{\circ}C$ for SAW50 and $150^{\circ}C$ for GMAW and SAW150. All EBT specimens show over 14% thickness reduction without through-thickness crack or crack propagation to the hole-down area. Tensile properties for all welding conditions show higher(GMAW) or similar values(SAW50, SAW150) to the base metal. Charpy impact values for the weld metal also show 163.5J(GMAW), 95.4J(SAW50) and 69.0J(SAW150), which meet the goal(higher than 50J) of this project.

조리 방법에 따른 맛나지의 저장 기간별 품질 특성 변화 (Quality Characteristics of Mannaji (Boiled Beef Down in Korean Soy Sauce) by Cooking Method during Storage Period)

  • For development of food of Jong-ga (Jeonju Hakindang) and its commercialization, this study investigated physico-chemical properties and quality characteristics of Mannaji (boiled beef down in Korean soy sauce) prepared with conventional or pre-heating methods during storage period (0, 4, 8, 12, 16, and 20 weeks) at $4^{\circ}C$. As storage period passed, pH decreased in both conventional and pre-heating methods. Forchromaticity, brightness ($L^*$) significantly decreasedwhile redness ($a^*$) and yellowness ($b^*$) significantly increased during storage period. After 4 weeks of storage, hardness of Mannaji with conventional methods was higher compared to before storage. Thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) of both conventional and pre-heating methods increased above 1.2 MDA mg/km, which is the acceptable criteria for intake. Although volatile basic nitrogen (VBN) values slightly increased in 4 weeks of storage, there were no significant differences in VBN and maintained food acceptable level until 20 weeks of storage. Sensory panelists showed preference for Mannaji with pre-heating methods compared to conventional methods.

가열 전처리 조건이 상황버섯 차의 추출수율에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Pre-heating Conditions on Extraction Yield of Phelinus linteus Tea)

  • 본 연구에서는 지상재배 방법으로 대량생산이 가능해진 상황버섯을 차로 개발하기 위하여 용출성을 증대시킬 수 있는 가열 전처리 조건을 구명하고자 하였다. 이를 위해, 자연 건조한 상황버섯을 건조오븐과 hot plate에서 온도와 시간을 달리하여 가열 전처리하고 분쇄한 후 일정량을 티백에 넣어 열수 추출하고 용출성 변화를 흡광도, 건조 고형분 함량, 색도 등을 측정하여 알아보았다. 건조오븐에서 가열할 경우, $70^{\circ}C{\sim}80^{\circ}C$에서 30분 가열 전 처리한 시료의 흡광도 및 건조 고형분량이 가장 크게 증가하였다. 반면, hot plate를 이용할 경우, 건조오븐에서 가열 전 처리한 시료의 증가폭에는 미치지 못하지만 $90^{\circ}C$에서 20분 가열 전 처리한 시료의 흡광도 및 건조 고형분량이 크게 증가하였다. 상황버섯 차의 색도변화는 가열시간이 길어질수록 밝기와 적색도가 감소하고 황색도가 상승하였으며 건조오븐에서의 가열 전 처리가 hotplate에서와 비교하여 상대적으로 낮은 온도에서 먼저 나타난다. 건조오븐을 이용하여 가열 전 처리한 시료를 대상으로 관능검사를 실시한 결과 $70^{\circ}C$$80^{\circ}C$에서 30분 가열 전 처리한 상황버섯 차가 가열처리 하지 않은 것과 비교하여 종합적 기호도가 높게 나타났다. 결론적으로 건조오븐을 이용하여 $70{\sim}80^{\circ}C$에서 30분 가열 전 처리하는 것이 상황버섯 차의 용출성 증대 및 기호도 측면에서 가장 효율적인 방법으로 사료된다. 또한 일정기간 보관하면서 탁도를 측정한 결과 상황버섯 차가 보리차 및 옥수수차와 비교하여 보존성이 좋은 것으로 나타났다.

B390 알루미늄 합금의 초정Si 입자분포에 미치는 원심주조 공정인자의 영향 (Effect of Centrifugal Casting Parameters on The Distribution of Primary Si Particles of B390 Aluminum Alloy)

  • To develop a functionally graded microstructure of cylindrical liner, effect of centrifugal casting parameters such as pouring temperature of hyper-eutectic Al-Si alloy melt, mold pre-heating temperature, and rotational frequency of mold on distribution of primary Si particles across wall thickness were investigated. Segregation tendency of Si particles toward inner side of cylindrical liner increased as the increase of rotational frequency of mold, pouring temperature of melt and mold pre-heating temperature. Especially, distribution density of primary Si particles within 1.5 mm from inner surface of cylindrical liner was above 35% under the centrifugal casting condition of $750^{\circ}C$ melt pouring temperature, $300^{\circ}C$ mold pre-heating temperature, and 2500 rpm mold rotational frequency.

국내 현장중온재생공법의 프리히터 개발을 위한 기초연구 (Fundamental Study for Development of Pre-Heater for Warm In-Place Recycling in Korea)

  • PURPOSES : To design a pre-heater for warm in-place recycling equipment, three different heating systems were evaluated to determine their thermal efficiency. METHODS: In this study, a $30cm{\times}30cm{\times}15cm$ wheel-tracking specimen was used to measure the inner temperature as a function of the heating system. The inner temperature of the specimen was measured with a data logger at the surface, and at depths of 1cm, 2cm, 3cm, 4cm, and 5cm. To evaluate the thermal efficiency, the researchers used three different types of equipment, namely, IR, a heating wire, and a gas burner. RESULTS: The IR heating system exhibits a higher level of performance than the others to achieve the target temperature at a depth of 5cm in the specimen. The gas burner system was capable of heating the surface to a temperature of up to $600^{\circ}C$. The other types, however, cannot heat the surface up to 600. The thermal efficiencies were measured based on the laboratory conditions. CONCLUSIONS: To find the most effective system for application to the development of a pre-heater for warm in-place recycling, various systems (IR, heating wire, gas burner) were examined in the laboratory. As a result, it was found that the hot plate of a gas burner system provides the highest temperature at the surface of the asphalt but, of all the systems, the IR system provides the best internal temperature increase rate. Furthermore, a gas burner can age the asphalt binder of the surface layer as a result of the high temperature. However, the gas burner cannot attain the target temperature at 5cm. The IR system, on the other hand, is effective at increasing the internal temperature of asphalt.

CFD 모델을 이용한 열미로의 지중열원 활용에 관한 사례 연구 (Case Study on Application of Ground Heat Source in Thermal Labyrinth by CFD Model)

  • In order to evaluate the performance of ground heat source in thermal labyrinth on pre-heating in winter season and pre-cooling in summer season, the followings are made as a conclusion through case study of H project by using the weather data from Korea meteorological administration and CFD model. By making outdoor air inlet via ground heat source in thermal labyrinth for conduction, convection and etc., the temperature rise is $13.4^{\circ}C$as the effect of pre-heating in winter season. On the other hand, as the effect of pre-cooling in summer season, the temperature decrease is $7.2^{\circ}C$. The energy saving rate by the application of ground heat source in thermal labyrinth is 9.1%.

차량용 연소식 난방기의 열 및 유동특성에 대한 수치연구 (Numerical Investigation on the Thermal and Flow Characteristics of Combustion Heater for Commercial Vehicle)

  • The diesel pre-heater has being used in cabin heating and coolant heating of engine to reduce the engine warm up time for commercial vehicle. The pre-heaters are classified as diesel spray combustor and it forms diffusion flame. By using swirler, a recirculation flow of hot product gases is established near the fuel nozzle and it helps the maintaining of diffusion flame. The design difference of swirler can affect on reaction characteristics and temperature distribution inside pre-heater. The purpose of this study is the investigation of the effect of swirler configuration on combustion characteristics. To solve spray combustion problem, the Euler-Lagrange approach discrete model is used to track droplet trajectory and evaporation history. The PDF equilibrium model is used for chemical reaction model. These models are implemented into the FLUENT code.
