  • The high power amplifier (HPA) for broadcasting transmitter systems has nonlinear property in terms of input signal power. Hence, it produces AM/AM and AM/PM modulation to the modulated signal. Therefore, the non-linearity results in bandwidth expansion and nonlinear distortion to in-band signal. In this paper, we propose a simple sain-based predistorter that requires less computational burden and less time for the full initialization of the pre-distorter ROM table.

  • A Pre-emphasis transmitter for DRAM bus system has achieved 3.2Gbps/pin operation at 1.8V supply voltage with 0.18um CMOS process. The transmitter has 800MHz PLL to generate 4 phase clocks. The 4 phase clocks are used for input clock of PRBS and multiplexing. One tap pre-emphasis is used to reduce inter symbol interference (ISI) caused by channel low pass effects. The analog calibration makes the optimized driver impedance independent with the PVT variation.

  • The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the effects of pre-formed space charge by negative DC voltage on partial discharge(PD) patterns of XLPE. We have suggested a modified pulsed electro-acoustic method and demonstrated that the PD patterns are strongly influenced by the pre-formed space charge distributions, which are hardly disappeared up to AC 8kV in electrode configuration including air gap between XLPE layer and electrode.

  • The creation of automotive systems of active safety with intelligent functions needs the use of new control principles for the wheel and automobile. One of such directions is the pre-extreme control strategy. Its aim is the ensuring of wheel's work in pre-extreme, stable area of tire grip wheel slip dependence. The simplest realization of pre-extreme control in automotive anti-lock brake systems consists in the threshold and gradient algorithms. A comparative analysis of these algorithms, which has been made on 'hardware in-the-loop' simulation results of the braking for bus with various anti-lock brake systems (ABS), indicated their high efficiency.

  • Stock pre-positioning is one of the most important decisions for preparing the stage of emergency logistics planning. In this paper, a mixed integer model for stock pre-positioning is derived to support an emergency disaster relief response against the event of earthquake. A maximum response time limit, budget availability, multiple item types, and capacity restrictions are considered. In the model, the decision of the distribution centers to cover a disaster area and the amount of supplies to be stocked in each distribution center are simultaneously determined to maximize the total expected relief demand of the disaster areas covered by the existing distribution centers. The proposed model is applied to a real case with 33 disaster areas and 16 distribution centers in Indonesia. Several sensitivity analyses are conducted to estimate the fluctuation on the emergency stock pre-positioning planning by changing the maximum response time and budgets.

  • This paper proposed 10Gbps driver with pre-emphasis for high speed transmitter. the proposed driver increase bandwidth using Ft doubler method and design driver block and pre-emphasis block in together. Pre-emphasis functionality confirmed to control VDS of current source o driver, not to control slew rate of termination resistor. The proposed driver is designed in a 1.5V/0.13um 1-poly, 5-metal CMOS mixed-signal process.

  • The yield of 3D stacked IC manufacturing improves with the pre-bond integrity testing of through silicon vias (TSVs). In this paper, an efficient pre-bond test method is presented based on IEEE std. 1500, which can precisely diagnose any happening of TSV defects. The IEEE std. 1500 wrapper cells are augmented for the proposed method. The pre-bond TSV test can be performed by adjusting the driving strength of TSV drivers and the test clock frequency. The experimental results show the advantages of the proposed approach.

  • It is believed that the pre-flashover phenomena would play a very important role in the procedure of the flashover in the interface between the insulators and vacuum. This paper is mainly concerned on the pre-flashover phenomena of Alumina insulators in vacuum. There are 24 different types of alumina insulators were tested with a $0.7/4{\mu}s$ pulsed voltage under a $1{\times}10^{-4}Pa$ vacuum. The observed pre-flashover phenomena were classified and the pre-flashover characteristics were concluded. It is useful to study further on the flashover mechanism in vacuum.

  • 차단기, 단로기와 간은 개폐기는 투입 동작이 이루어질 때, 접점 간의 내전안과 양단간의 전안차 사이의 관계에 의하여 pre-strike 현상이 발생한다. 따라서, 개폐기가 투입되는 동안 발생하는 과도철상을 파악하기 위해서는 개폐기의 pre-strike 친상을 모델링하는 것이 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 개폐기의 pre-strike 현상을 EMTP로 모델링하고 이를 모델 계통에 적용하여 구현된 pre-strike 모델이 타당함을 보였다.

A 6-Gb/s Differential Voltage Mode Driver with Independent Control of Output Impedance and Pre-Emphasis Level

  • A 6-Gb/s differential voltage mode driver is presented whose output impedance and pre-emphasis level can be controlled independently. The voltage mode driver consists of five binary-weighted slices each of which has four sub-drivers. The output impedance is controlled by the number of enabled slices while the pre-emphasis level is determined by how many sub-drivers in the enabled slices are driven by post-cursor input. A prototype transmitter with a voltage-mode driver implemented in a 65-nm CMOS logic process consumes 34.8-mW from a 1.2-V power supply and its pre-emphasized output signal shows 165-mVpp,diff and 0.56-UI eye opening at the end of a cable with 10-dB loss at 3-GHz.
