This research attempted to find possibilities of the practical use utilizing geospatial methods for the balanced promotion of sustainable coastal development and preservation through a case study of Jekyll Island, one of Georgia's barrier islands. In response, this research provided ways for practical use in sustainable development and preservation plans. First this research thoroughly investigated the 1996 master plan of Jekyll Island and tried to recalculate developed and undeveloped areas. Second, new estimations for developed areas were investigated through field survey. Third, this research proposed the use of the satellite images with different levels of spatial resolutions and tested different classification schemes to find possibilities for practical use. For these purposes, first, we classified developed and undeveloped features by manual digitization using an aerial photo image with 0.5m spatial resolution. Second, a Landsat 7 ETM+ and a QuickBird satellite images with mid- and high-levels of spatial resolutions were applied to identify developed and undeveloped areas using both the National Land Cover Data (NLCD) and the Coastal Change Analysis Program (CCAP) classification schemes. Also, GEOBIA (Geographic Object-Based Image Analysis) was conducted to accurately identify developed and undeveloped areas.

최근 학교 현장에서는 웹 기반의 멀티미디어 자료에 대한 활용이 매우 크게 증가하고 있다. 이에 따라 멀티미디어 자료를 수월하게 검색하기 위한 다양한 메타데이터 요소 정의가 등장하고 있으나 국제 표준을 중심으로 제시되고, 국내 현장 교사들의 의견은 거의 반영되지 않고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 국내 현장 교사들의 의견을 반영하여 웹 페이지 안에 포함되어 있는 멀티미디어 자료들을 효율적으로 검색, 관리할 수 있는 메타데이터 요소를 정의하고 실제 활용을 위한 XML DTD를 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구 결과는 멀티미디어 자료의 공유 및 활용을 높이는데 사용될 수 있다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to review articles on Nursing Management Minimum Data Sets (NMMDS) and to suggest strategies to improve practical use of NMMDS in nursing management. Methods: A systematic search for articles published until 2013 was undertaken using the following biomedical databases: CINAHL, PubMed, and Google scholar. Seventeen articles were fully reviewed. Results: The results showed that studies were related to updating NMMDS reflecting current EHR use, mapping NMMDS to standardized national databases, and validating, translating and evaluating NMMDS for international uses. NMMDS has three dimensions and was developed reflecting the needs of nurse managers. Conclusion: The study findings provide a summary of recent trends in NMMDS. These results can serve as basic information to promote practical use of NMMDS in the healthcare organization to provide nursing management data for nurse managers.

In spite of the well developed theory and the practical use of the univariate B-spline, the theory of multivariate B-spline is very new and waits its practical use. We compare in this article the multivariate B-spline approximation with the polynomial approximation for the surface fitting. The graphical and numerical comparisons show that the multivariate B-spline approximation gives much better fitting than the polynomial one, especially for the surfaces which vary very rapidly.

A fuel cell is a device that directly converts the chemical energy of reatants into low voltage d$.$c electricity. The high temperature fuel cell (MCFC, SOFC)is an excellent electric generator with regard to preservation of the environment and the energy-savings. The purpose of this research is to investigate technical issue and research need for practical use of high temperature fuel cell.

In this study, control technique of two types of automatic snowplow was experimentally investigated. One is a remote-controlled snowplow used for removing snow around houses, and the other is an autonomous snowplow for use in wide, open spaces such as a parking lot of a large-scale retail store. A commercially available snowplow was modified to enable remote control by the use of a personal handy-phone system. The autonomous controller utilizes a vision sensor that consists of a CCD video camera and a computer for image processing. In addition, design of a practical landmark was examined.

To investigate the adequacy of maglev train system to future urban transport environments, first we derived minimum necessity requirements of the new-transit system by analyzing the issues in the urban transit management and new needs of transportation customers. Then the conformity of Maglev train to the requirements was examined. With respect to this adequacy analysis, policy directions and agenda of the making practical use of urban transit Maglev system' is proposed.

Regulated Deficit Irrigation (RDI) is one of the most important measures for the water-saving and high yield of crops. RDI is based on the crop and water relations. The theories of RDI were analyzed using the experiment data in Shaanxi and Gansu Province. There are several problems of RDI in practical use, which include; the uncertainty of crop-water relations, the proper growth stages and water deficit degree of RDI applied, and the requirements of RDI to irrigation system and irrigation techniques.

Botulinum toxin (BTX) has been widely used to treat muscle spasms in many voice disorders. Most commercially available forms of BTX require reconstitution before use, which may increase the risk of contamination and requires careful titration. Recently, a liquid-type BTX type A (BTX-A) has been developed, which should simplify the procedure and enhance its efficacy. In this session, I will discuss about the differences of BTX-A from existing types and the practical issues associated with it.

As fashion is a reflection of a way of life, jean fashion seems to be a reflection of the background and process of social-human psychology. Modern jeans reflect personality and trend rather than traditional practicality as indicated by the concept and emphasis of fashion. Since the early 1990s, practical use of jeans has appeared consistently in products for interior use, various kinds of fashion-ware and fashion properties, as well as in fashion that is a conversion and interpretation of an outstanding fashion trend. And the search, providing that various symbols of jeans are sensualism, deviation, ostentation, amusement and multi-culture, shows that jeans represent the multifarious aspects of fashion culture. For the purpose and necessity of this search to meet different consumers' desires by the practical use of jeans and the development of fashion-ware. First, investigate the trend of jeans in 2005. Second, try to change the various uses of jeans by reflecting the trend of jeans. Finally, extend the range of choice by developing various goods. As a result, basic jeans have the strength of function, activity, and originality. Use of ornamental jeans can fully show their value as well as their emphasis of individuality in beauty. If we consider these points, we can minimize the limitations of jeans and make a practical use of the fashion trend, If we make the function of jeans stand out through the use of varieties of materials, the modem characteristic consumption will be met by the various change of use as well as by the clothes.
