The purpose of this study was to improve the paramedics skills to manage advanced airway by comparing speed and success rate between endotracheal intubation and laryngeal mask airway(LMA) insertion in a moving ambulance. Sixty subjects were randomly recruited and samely divided into control group and experimental group. And they were asked to join a practical experiment using dummy model. Data analysis was done by SPSS WIN 14.0 Version. As a result of this research, in terms of difference in speed according to patient's intubation posture, the speed of control group was indicated to be good in sniffing position(t=-4.038, p<.001). There was no difference in speed between two groups in neutral position. In the neutral posture given the endotracheal intubation, tooth fracture occurred in 16 people(53.3%). There was no difference in success rate between two groups. As for a change in self-confidence before and after experiment, the post self-confidence was indicated to have been enhanced in both groups. In conclusion, it is effective to use LMA in the traumatic patient who is unable to receive endotracheal intubation in sniffing position. It is very important for the paramedics to receive the continuous training of the airway management skills.

Advanced countries are very active in deploying the National Information I infrastructure which provides universal service to promise fruitful quality of futuree life. Even in the distributed environment, we can closely converse, work together, and share information in a very convenient way. This is actually enabled with the help of groupware technology, which are currently focused and researched in a larger popularity. The aim of this study is to design a portable pack for group communications management to support the development of groupware application. In the paper we begin with technical survey, continue to build our own model for group communications man agement, and design its architecture and procedure. We also suggest group addressing mechanism under Internet environment such as how to create IP multicast address and IP port number dynamically and as a globally unique value for the communication session, with the help of the hierarchical and distributed address managers. We also indicate the reliable data transmission services to remedy the unreliable feature of the UDP multicast services, and finally the architecture/ applied to support the practical applications is briefly discussed for verification of the designed concept.

As a critical element for success of community based tourism, festivals and special events play a significant role in enticing visitors from outside of the host community. More importantly, festivals and events contribute to improve the life quality for both hosts and guests. The purpose of this study is to develop a market segmentation strategy based on the perceived festival impacts among visitors to Poonggi Ginseng Festival so that each segment can be treated and communicated with separatedly for utmost visiting satisfaction. In this study, two market segments based on visitors' socio-cultural and environmental evaluation of the festival were identified, namely high appraisal group and low appraisal group. Two groups contrast sharply in terms of their behavioral patterns and perceived value and overall satisfaction. Practical marketing strategies are suggested accordingly.
This study is on the strategy for establishing successful corporate brand image, by understanding the need for increasing brand value based on the level of brand recognition. In order to carry this out, the PICS (Product Image Concentration System) is suggested, which includes Brand Image Analysis on a high-level, Product Image Programming based on the result of the image analysis, and Product Image Coherency Assessment and Management, resulting in setting up a guideline for gaining competitive advantage and brand management. Brand Image Analysis is a method that utilizes image association to understand brand disposition by analyzing the association pattern among available visual materials to measure the corporate and brand image inclinations. As the next step, Product Image Programming establishes design philosophy and principles based on the analysis of brand image, and the Visual Programming is a process for visualizing the intended product image direction. Lastly, Product Image Coherency Assessment examines whether to incorporate design philosophy and principles or not to arrive at an agreed evaluation criteria for developing designs coherent with the brand image. The PICS (Product Image Concentration System) is a practical method for increasing a company' competitive advantage and managing brand. The expectation on this system is to provide a guideline for applying brand image in design process more objectively. For further study, diversification of image spectrum based on expressive keywords and comparative analysis on images as well as a product image interpretation program to understand the order of visual materials will be necessary.

This study was to find the display considerations of RDA resource type - content type, media type, and carrier type. The Literature review, the case study, and the survey were used as the research method. 5 display strategies were suggested in this study. First, content and carrier types were better displayed than all 3 types of RDA resources. Second, two kinds of algorithm should be considered for RDA resource icon display. One was the combination of the terms of carrier types plus content types icon. The other was the combination of carrier types icon and content types icon in which the terms reflecting types must be included. Third, the subfield of 33x must be used for the paired display of content type and carrier type of multi-types resources. Fourth, in brief display, resource type icon was better positioned on the left and upper side and in detailed display, resource types were better located in description area. Fifth, 'format' was used as display indication phrase. This study would contribute to the design for the resource display by suggesting the practical display considerations of RDA resource type.

The journal impact factor(JIF) of the Thomson Reuters(ISI) has been widely used to assess the impact of journal as well as its quality. However, the JIF contains its critical limitation, in which it does not measure the impact of journal but the average impact of articles in journal. Besides significant number of problems of the JIF has been noticed. Furthermore, given the limited coverage of domestic citation index database in comparison to those of international citation index, it is necessary to apply a more appropriate index with a high level of discriminating power. This study, therefore, aims to introduce some practical methods to measure the impact of domestic journals by using the Hirsch-type indices. As the Hirsch-type indices has been often used for overcoming the limitations of the JIF in worldwide, we hope that our research outcome offers an effective alternative to gauge the impact of journals more accurately. Consequently, using the variations of the h-index($h_s$-index, $f_s$-index) or the sum of issue level(issue based h-index, issue based f-index), we argue that it would improve the discrimination capacity of the Hirsch-type indices significantly and that we can measure the impact of domestic journals more clearly.

This study reviews the literature related to the omni-channel and derived structural relationship between experiential perception of omni-channel brand and consumer-brand relational quality. A total of 250 questionnaires were distributed to university students, workers, and consumers in Busan, Korea, who had experience using SSG.com. 210 questionnaires were used for final validation of research model. The hypotheses set in this study was validated through SPSS18.0 and LISREL8.3 based on the research model. The results showed that all hypotheses were accepted, except for 2 hypotheses(Hypothesis 2-3, Hypothesis 2-4). Findings of this study suggest the following:First, the consumer's experience with the omni-channel brand was found to be an important factor influencing consumers' cognitive and emotional responses formed by the transfer effect of experiential factors through senses. Second, the relationship between consumers and the omni-channel brand was found to be an important factor in building attachment and psychological bond through experience and trust for the omni-channel brand. Thus, the results of this study provide the basis for overall understanding of the strategic experiential module (SEMs) for the omni-channel, which recently emerged as a new trend of distribution channel, as well as for managing the spatial environment. Finally, we present the theoretical and practical implications related to consumers' experience and relational perception.
As the price of flash memory continues to drop and the technology of flash SSD controller innovates, high performance flash SSDs with affordable prices flourish in the storage market. Nevertheless, it is hard to expect that flash SSDs will replace harddisks completely as database storage. Instead, the approach to use flash SSD as a cache for harddisks would be more practical, and, in fact, several hybrid storage architectures for flash memory and harddisk have been suggested in the literature. In this paper, we propose a new approach to use flash SSD as an extended buffer for main buffer in database systems, which stores the pages replaced out from main buffer and returns the pages which are re-referenced in the upper buffer layer, improving the system performance drastically. In contrast to the existing approaches to use flash SSD as a cache in the lower storage layer, our approach, which uses flash SSD as an extended buffer in the upper host, can provide fast random read speed for the warm pages which are being replaced out from the limited main buffer. In fact, for all the pages which are missing from the main buffer in a real TPC-C trace, the hit ratio in the extended buffer could be more than 60%, and this supports our conjecture that our simple extended buffer approach could be very effective as a cache. In terms of performance/price, our extended buffer architecture outperforms two other alternative approaches with the same cost, 1) large main buffer and 2) more harddisks.

This study examines various weighting methods for improving the performance of automatic classification based on Rocchio algorithm on two collections(LISA, Reuters-21578). First, three factors for weighting are identified as document factor, document factor, category factor for each weighting schemes, the performance of each was investigated. Second, the performance of combined weighting methods between the single schemes were examined. As a result, for the single schemes based on each factor, category-factor-based schemes showed the best performance, document set-factor-based schemes the second, and document-factor-based schemes the worst. For the combined weighting schemes, the schemes(idf*cat) which combine document set factor with category factor show better performance than the combined schemes(tf*cat or ltf*cat) which combine document factor with category factor as well as the common schemes (tfidf or ltfidf) that combining document factor with document set factor. However, according to the results of comparing the single weighting schemes with combined weighting schemes in the view of the collections, while category-factor-based schemes(cat only) perform best on LISA, the combined schemes(idf*cat) which combine document set factor with category factor showed best performance on the Reuters-21578. Therefore for the practical application of the weighting methods, it needs careful consideration of the categories in a collection for automatic classification.
Purpose - Due to highly elevated levels of competition, many companies today have to face the problem of decreasing profits even when their actual sales volume is increasing. This is a common phenomenon that is seen occurring among companies that focus heavily on quantitative growth rather than qualitative growth. These two aspects of growth should be well balanced for a company to create a sustainable business model. For supply chain management (SCM) planners, the optimized, quantified flow of resources used to be of major interest for decades. However, this trend is rapidly changing so that managers can put the appropriate balance between sales volume and sales quality, which can be evaluated from the profit margin. Profit optimization is a methodology for companies to use to achieve solutions focused more on profitability than sales volume. In this study, we attempt to provide executional insight for companies considering implementation of the profit optimization system to enhance their business profitability. Research design, data, and methodology - In this study, we present a comprehensive explanation of the subject of profit optimization, including the fundamental concepts, the most common profit optimization logic algorithm -linear programming -the business functional scope of the profit optimization system, major key success factors for implementing the profit optimization system at a business organization, and weekly level detailed business processes to actively manage effective system performance in achieving the goals of the system. Additionally, for the purpose of providing more realistic and practical information, we carefully investigate a profit optimization system implementation case study project fulfilled for company S. The project duration was about eight months, with four full-time system development consultants deployed for the period. To guarantee the project's success, the organization adopted a proven system implementation methodology, supply chain management (SCM) six-sigma. SCM six-sigma was originally developed by a group of talented consultants within Samsung SDS through focused efforts and investment in synthesizing SCM and six-sigma to improve and innovate their SCM operations across the entire Samsung Organization. Results - Profit optimization can enable a company to create sales and production plans focused on more profitable products and customers, resulting in sustainable growth. In this study, we explain the concept of profit optimization and prerequisites for successful implementation of the system. Furthermore, the efficient way of system security administration, one of the hottest topics today, is also addressed. Conclusion - This case study can benefit numerous companies that are eagerly searching for ways to break-through current profitability levels. We cannot guarantee that the decision to deploy the profit optimization system will bring success, but we can guarantee that with the help of our study, companies trying to implement profit optimization systems can minimize various possible risks across various system implementation phases. The actual system implementation case of the profit optimization project at company S introduced here can provide valuable lessons for both business organizations and research communities.
