  • In this paper, development of TIM Module for constructing PDM will be introduced. Technical information relevant product data influences cost, quality, precision and productivity. One of the very important feature of product data is organizing not by oneself but very closed to many technical information such as document, file, image and analysis sheet. To manage various technical information, several kinds of management system are used in multi level of production system. PDM and TIM systems are being developed for suitable purpose and are in need of Network technology, Information Technology, Database, sharing and distributing information. Developed TIM system is based on Web environment. By using this system, we can manage systematic technical information and reduce cost for constructing PDM system. And also we will put to practical use another technical information management system for mold plant.

Development of Quality Management in the Republic of Kazakhstan

  • Purpose - This theoretical study develops practical recommendations for implementing a quality management system (QMS) in Kazakh organizations to ensure the effectiveness and safety of products and services. We discuss the improvement of Kazakhstan's quality standards based on the requirements of ISO 9000. Research design, data, and methodology - We provide methods for improving the quality standards system, ranging from research and development to the sale of products. We also propose to establish a special quality systems award to motivate enterprises toward product quality improvement. The study's methodological basis included Kazakhstan's legislative and regulatory Acts, and international and national standards defining QMS requirements for scientists worldwide to develop and implement a QMS for enterprises. Results - Aligning the QMS reduces Kazakh companies' costs for the detection and correction of defects, and the external and internal loss caused by the defects. Effective QMS also reduces management costs. Conclusion - This article can help increase the transparency of organizations for their leaders and (if necessary) the external environment, and improve the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of decision-making.

The Effects of Knowledge Ownership on Knowledge Creation Attitudes (지식소유감이 지식생산태도에 미치는 영향)

  • The voluntary knowledge creation plays an important role in achieving competitive advantage in the organization from the perspective of knowledge management. Although many companies have introduced the Knowledge Management Systems (KMS) for this purpose, they have not gained the expected benefits from those systems. One of the reasons for that is KMS have not provided organization members with sufficient intrinsic motivation about knowledge creation, diffusion and application. Therefore, this study proposes a concept called psychological knowledge ownership as intrinsic motivation factor that facilitates knowledge creation and examines its antecedents and consequences. The research results show that reputation, self-efficacy, and expertise sharing have impacts on psychological knowledge ownership, which in turn influences knowledge creation attitude. In conclusion, we discuss both theoretical and practical implications of this research and suggest its limitations.

  • The purposes of this paper are applying the IDEF(Integrated DEFinition), which was selected for standard methodology of CALS(Computer-aided Acquisition and Logistic Support) process modeling, to the acquisition process of the weapon system to activate DEfense CALS of the acquisition and management business of weapon system on Defense Planning and Management System and developing a AS-IS model which is usable and that the analysis of process problems results in. On this paper, We diagrammed the function of the acquisition and management of weapon system by using IDEF0 and presented AS-IS model. This paper focused on the development of AS-IS model which can put to practical use to find the problems of current acquisition and management process of weapon system and the embodiment of national defense CALS system. So more detailed analysis of current system and additional studies about TO-BE model would be the future research area.

  • Nowadays the Project Management is increasingly adapted into almost all the fields in business management processes among leading companies both in Korea and overseas. However its actual practices are rare to be found. Among the Project Life Cycle, this report covers the real cases of the PMBOK knowledge areas in NPP Architect Engineering. The areas of the Construction, Start-up and Operation will be exception of the cases. By way of analyzing the KEPCO ENC's Processes/Procedures/Systems and the ones in PMBOK Guide, this report will show the contents in the PMBOK Guide is rather practical than theoretical. Meanwhile, implications whether the conclusions of this report might be applied to other industries such as general construction, non-nuclear plants, etc. should be left behind to follow-up studies.

  • This paper implements an effective attendance management and monitoring system utilizing the RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) and Smart phone for student. In this paper, RFID system use 13.56MHz to control the attendance, and we can show that information of RFID and dynamic image through IP camera in Smart phone. We also make up the contents and database utilizing the labview program in computer. Especially, proposed technique can obtain dynamic image by server implementation at real time basis so that it is possible to use simultaneously several Smart phone. From the various and practical experiment, it is confirm that proposed system is useful for attendance management and remotely monitoring.

Effective Model Management Approach to Multimedia Decision Support Systems (멀티미디어 의사결정지원시스템 구축을 위한 효율적 모형관리기법에 관한 연구)

  • As the Internet is used extensively, multimedia information becomes more prevailing and accessible. However, legacy decision support systems rarely mention how to put such multimedia contents into practical use for decision making and support. In particular, no proposals have yet been made on how to integrate the decision technologies and multimedia databases in model management systems. Hence, the aim of this paper is to propose a new model management method to integrating decision technologies and an image database management system to create a multimedia decision support. For this purpose, extended ARG and structured modeling techniques are adopted, to represent image contents and mathematical models respectively. A web-based prototype system is presented to illustrate the feasibility and usability of the methodology.

Development of Expertise-based Safety Performance Evaluation Model

  • Construction projects have become increasingly complex in recent years, resulting in substantial safety hazards and frequent fall accidents. In an attempt to prevent fall accidents, various safety management systems have been developed. These systems have mainly been evaluated qualitatively and subjectively by practitioners or supervisors, and there are few tools that can be used to quantitatively evaluate the performance of safety management systems. We propose an expertise-based safety performance evaluation model (EXSPEM), which integrates a fuzzy approach-based analytic hierarchy process and a regression approach. The proposed model uses S-shaped curves to represent the degree of contribution by subjective expertise and is verified by a genetic algorithm. To illustrate its practical application, EXSPEM was applied to evaluate the safety performance of a newly developed real-time mobile detector monitoring system. It is expected that this model will be a helpful tool for systematically evaluating the application of a robust safety control and management system in a complex construction environment.

  • In the hotel industry, there are the production and consumption of services at the same time, considering direct contact between employees and customers. In this respect, this study was conducted based on more practical factors to grasp employees' feelings and conflicts. The results of this research are as follows. First, individual conflicts among hotel banquet employees influence devotion to the organization which has a direct effect on performance of management. Second, such devotion is closely correlated with the factors of the performance of management. Finally, managing employees' conflicts is the key factor to promote the performance of management. Under these circumstances, there should be more concern in solving problems among employees and special pro-grams for promoting job satisfaction and devotion which bring about more profits as well as a sense of achievement.

  • Construction Management by using 4D CAD system analyzes operations information based on 3D and 4D objects. But it is difficult to provide a variety of documents linked by 4D objects in a lump from 4D CAD system based on visual object, and to get an optimal decision-making information to conduct business. Therefore, it is necessary to construct effective construction information management systems and to organize integrated information through linking non-objects to objects. This study suggests methodologies of effective construction management for railway facilities through building of framework for practical application and methodologies to link 4D objects to IETM documents. Accordingly, it is possible to establish a systematic decision-making for an effective construction management of railway facilities, and this provide integrated methodology for linking non-objects to objects.
