The Design of Fuse in High Efficient Inverter Control System using Ceramic Radiant Heat and Metal Film Laminated Plating (세라믹 방열과 박막 적층 도금을 이용한 고효율 인버터 제어 회로용 퓨즈 설계)

  • In recent years, The electronic and energy industries demand low power consumption and high efficiency, so under their demands, the white goods industries which are represented for refrigerator and air conditioner system be implemented energy-saving power suppling structure with inverter control system. As inverter control system is different from step control type, when switching system is optimizing temperature control during short period, the inrush plus current can be flown in the circuit. In despite of these characteristics, there is no fuse which can be applied to this type until now. For this reason, we suggest the method of manufacturing protector in the high efficient inverter control system using the alumina-based ceramic radiated heat characteristics and metal films laminated plating. And through the evaluating electrical characteristics, we make a possible to utilize the method when designing overall fuses.

  • In this paper, 15[kW] AC regenerative system for battery charging and discharging test is proposed. The regenerative system is able to regenerate surplus energy to the grid in discharging mode, and the inverter of the system can be operated as a converter to compensate scarce energy in charging mode. In case of the conventional DC charging and discharging system, the regenerative energy is consumed by a resistor. However, as the proposed system regenerates the surplus energy to the grid through using DC-AC inverter, the energy saving effect can be achieved. In this paper, 15[kW] battery charging and discharging system is developed, and the validity of the system is verified through simulation and experimental results.

  • The concrete pipe used to distribute irrigation water to the right place now available is commonly made up of cement , sand, earth, pebble, etc. These materials with right ratio and right amount of water were mixed and squeezed through the pipe-making machine called vertical squeezed pipe-making machine, and then a cement prefabricated pipe is produced . This kinds of pipe has been expanding by leaps and bounds. Being little cement contents and low cost, the length of pipe is 1.0m or so with weight of 50kg, which is easy to be made and to be transported. The demolish pressure of it is 0.2 MPa or so, which meets the needs of agriculture irrigation . The buried pipe irrigation system, has been popularized in Jining Municipal , Shandong Province. By the year of 1995 , the irrigation area under pipe conveyancesystem usign this type of pipe has reached 74000 hectares. By calculation, about 27.7million ㎥ water, 2.88 million kWh power , 0.167 million man power and 1528 hectares cu tivated land will be saved one year, adding value of agriculture output increased by 10 million kg. The total economic benefits amount to 0.92 million US$ a year. The paper presents the pipe making course and its application on a large scale area.

A Study on the Performance Analysis in the Plate and Shell Heat Exchanger (판각형 열교환기 성능해석에 관한 연구)

  • Heat exchangers are called with important devices which have been widely used in industrial fields. Therefore, the design method for a heat exchanger is an important study in the aspect of energy saving. In this study, performance analyses for two types of plate and shell heat exchangers having a corrugated trapezoid shape of a chevron angle with $45^{\circ}$, were executed and compared with experiments. For this study, the operation liquids were adopted with non-phase changing water. In the analysis, ${\epsilon}-NTU$ method was used for a plate and shell heat exchanger and a program was constructed. Independent variables for a plate and shell heat exchanger are flow rate and inlet temperature. Compared with experimental data, the accuracy of the developed are ${\pm}2.5%\;and\;{\pm}5%$ at the type A and type B in the heat transfer rate, respectively. In the pressure drop, the accuracy of the proposed program for a plate and shell heat exchanger is within ${\pm}3%$ and 5% error bounds for the type A and type B, respectively.

Analysis on the Energy Saving Effect of Free Cooling System in Data Center (데이터 센터의 외기냉수냉방 시스템에 대한 에너지 절감효과 분석)

  • Recently, Free cooling system usage has increased at many buildings in intermediate and winter season. Free cooling system is used to reduce the energy consumption of refrigeration in that season. Free cooling system is refrigeration system using cooled water. In general, this system is applied with the building having refrigeration load at all time such as a data center. In this study, energy consumption of a data center taking free cooling system in Ulsan was evaluated by the software HYSYS. the main result is as in the following : free cooling system is effective from January to April and from November to December. In case of Ulsna in 2013, using free coolng system is able to spend refrigeration energy of about 15% less than existing system. According to this result, it is appropriated that free cooling system is used in building having refrigeration load at all time such as data center.

  • This paper is concerned with the development of a new method for making and separating ice in-water and saving floated ice by installing an evaporation panel in an ice storage tank. The new method shows very good heat transfer efficiency than that of the convectional method. It is because the evaporation panel is directly contacted with water in the storage tank. The experiments were performed by varying inlet and outlet refrigerant temperatures of its evaporator. From the experimental results, the operating characteristics of in-water harvest-type ice storage system were investigated by measuring temperature and pressure at each point of the ice storage system and power required to operating compressor respect to the changes of the inlet and outlet refrigerant temperature of evaporator. It can be think that defrost frequency decreased and heavy ice created as the refrigerant temperature of evaporator outlet and defrost setting temperature is low so gotten result can effect to release efficiency. Also, consumption power, condensing heat quantity, refrigerating capacity and performance efficiency decreased as time goes by. Therefore, these results provide the basic data for system optimization, performance improvement and the possibility of application to other fields.

  • The main purpose of this paper is to suggest opportunities for reducing $CO_2$ emission in energy conversion of a vehicle, focused on auxiliary energy improvement in the automotive field. As part of worldwide efforts to curb global warming and to protect the domestic industry as trade barriers, many countries have set goals to regulate greenhouse gas emissions. As an example, new $CO_2$ emission regulation in EU was expected to go into effect strictly in 2020. Therefore, global car-makers need to establish strategic responsiveness of the regulations. This paper shows $CO_2$ economic value by using the correct interpretation of the relevant laws and regulations. The $CO_2$ value analyzed using quantitative figures leads to the possibility of auxiliary(accessories, HVAC, electric apparatus etc.) technology for improving fuel economy. As a result, this study generalizes the meaning of electric power saving for each driving mode by auxiliary energy improvement.

  • The purpose of this paper is to describe experimental results about the T-joint welding of the high power continuous wave (CW) fiber laser for SAPH steel plate for seat frame of car. The seat rail is a part of seat frame of cars. The assembling method is mostly fix up using a bolt and nut. But this assembling method has many demerits in productivity such as increasing work process and material cost. This paper presents an experimental study about Laser T-Joint weldability of seat rail. Laser welding has many advantages in lightness and saving material costs of seat frame. The laser beam was moved along the work pieces by six axis robot with process optical fiber. The laser beam is focused with a welding head within incident angle $15{\sim}45^{\circ}$ for the purpose of the T-joint welding through two side full penetration. The range of the root gap size is less than ${\leq}0.4mm$. Optical microscopy SEM were performed to observe the micro structures and determine the structures of welded zone.

Secrecy Spectrum and Secrecy Energy Efficiency in Massive MIMO Enabled HetNets

  • Security and resource-saving are both demands of the fifth generation (5G) wireless networks. In this paper, we study the secrecy spectrum efficiency (SSE) and secrecy energy efficiency (SEE) of a K-tier massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) enabled heterogeneous cellular network (HetNet), in which artificial noise (AN) are employed for secrecy enhancement. Assuming (i) independent Poisson point process model for the locations of base stations (BSs) of each tier as well as that of eavesdroppers, (ii) zero-forcing precoding at the macrocell BSs (MBSs), and (iii) maximum average received power-based cell selection, the tractable lower bound expressions for SSE and SEE of massive MIMO enabled HetNets are derived. Then, the influences on secrecy oriented spectrum and energy efficiency performance caused by the power allocation for AN, transmit antenna number, number of users served by each MBS, and eavesdropper density are analyzed respectively. Moreover, the analysis accuracy is verified by Monte Carlo simulations.

Development of a Lifting Utility with Balance-controlled Platform (작업대 수평유지식 과수원 고소작업차 개발)

  • Facing the current hikes of labor wage and high oil price, it is needed to have energy-saving machinery which also enables us precise farm operations. Thus, it was necessary to develop a safe machine which allows secure and pleasant works along orchard slopes. In this study, a lifting utility with balance-controlled platform was developed. The platform utility could maintain to level the workbench while driving along slopes. Even the machine body was driven at the tilt angle ranges of ${\pm}20^{\circ}$, the platform bench could be maintained within ${\pm}0.5^{\circ}$ of a gimbal angle. In addition, the machine lifted up to 2.0 m using an electric-hybrid driving mechanism with a low noise. A tandem hybrid power source was developed with a DC 72 V, 100 AH for the Deep-Cycle batteries, charged with 3.5 kW gasoline generator as an auxiliary power source. HST, which is one of the CVT's, was adopted as a transmission device, and a crawer track was used for the safety of the vehicle against tip-over. The maximum lifting height of platform was is 2,500 mm, and the maximum extendable width was 2,900 mm.
