Analysis of Interference Impacts by UWB System to WiBro Systems

  • This paper evaluates the impacts for interference from UWB system, and determines the tolerable UWB power spectral density(PSD) to the new deploying system, which is called a portable internet service in Korea. It also proposes the interference analysis scheme that can evaluate the characteristics of the performance degradation for portable internet service according to the emission power of UWB systems at the specified frequency bands. The proposed scheme includes a multi-rate and data service environments to deal with interference to portable internet service. It is obtained from simulation results that the transmission PSD of UWB systems should be rigidly restricted by less approximately 10 ${\~}$ 20 dB than FCC provisional limit for coexistence between UWB and portable internet service already allocated at 2.3 GHz frequency bands in Korea.

  • The study considers earthquake shake table testing of bending-torsion coupled structures under multi-component stationary random earthquake excitations. An experimental procedure to arrive at the optimal excitation cross-power spectral density (psd) functions which maximize/minimize the steady state variance of a chosen response variable is proposed. These optimal functions are shown to be derivable in terms of a set of system frequency response functions which could be measured experimentally without necessitating an idealized mathematical model to be postulated for the structure under study. The relationship between these optimized cross-psd functions to the most favourable/least favourable angle of incidence of seismic waves on the structure is noted. The optimal functions are also shown to be system dependent, mathematically the sharpest, and correspond to neither fully correlated motions nor independent motions. The proposed experimental procedure is demonstrated through shake table studies on two laboratory scale building frame models.

생산 공정에서 CNN을 이용한 음향 PSD 영상 기반 공구 상태 진단 기법 (Sound PSD Image based Tool Condition Monitoring using CNN in Machining Process)

  • 정보통신기술(ICT)를 적용한 스마트팩토리로 불리는 지능형 생산 공장은 각종 센서를 통해 공정 데이터를 실시간으로 수집하고 있다. 이렇게 수집된 데이터를 효과적으로 활용하는 연구가 많이 진행되고 있는데, 본 논문에서는 생산 공정에서 발생되는 음향 신호를 기반으로 공구 상태를 진단하는 기법을 제안한다. 첫 번째로 결함이 있는 공구를 감지할 뿐만 아니라 공회전 및 공정 운용에 따른 다양한 공구 상태를 제시한다. 두 번째로 푸리에 분석을 이용하여 사운드의 전력스펙트럼을 영상으로 표현하고, 데이터에 숨겨진 건강한 패턴을 드러내고, 강조하기 위해 일부 변형을 적용한다. 마지막으로 이렇게 획득한 대비 강화된 PSD 영상은 CNN을 이용해 상태별로 진단한다. 그 결과 제안한 음향 PSD 영상 + CNN 방법은 데이터의 차별화된 특징이 잘 반영되어 공구 상태에 따른 높은 진단 결과를 보여준다.

지방도 도로교 노면조도의 스펙트럼 (Spectra of Road Surface Roughness on Bridges of Minor Road)

  • 본 연구에서는 강원도 원주 횡성 부근의 지방도 및 군도에 위치한 18개의 지방도 도로교에 대한 노면조도의 PSD를 제시하였다. 18개 대상교량에 대하여 GPS 측정기를 사용하여 교량의 노면조도를 10~30 cm의 간격으로 직접 측정하였다. 노면조도의 PSD는 평균값이 영인 정상확률분포로 가정하고 측정한 노면조도를 사용하여 MEM으로 구하였다. 도로교의 동적응답 연구에 적합한 노면조도의 PSD 값을 계산할 수 있는 식을 RC 슬래브교, 라멘교 및 PSC거더교 등 교량형식별 및 전체 교량에 대하여 제안하였다. 그리고 대상교량의 노면조도를 평가하고 IRI와 노면 조도계수 사이의 관계를 분석하였다.

The Coexistence of OFDM-Based Systems Beyond 3G with Fixed Service Microwave Systems

  • In this paper, we study the coexistence of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)-based systems beyond 3G (B3G) and point-to-point (P-P) fixed service (FS) microwave systems. The advanced general analytical model derived via a power spectral density (PSD) analysis proposed in this paper has two advantages in comparison with the conventional minimum coupling loss (MCL) method. First, the interfering signal power that appears in the band of a victim system can be easily assessed without a spectrum emission mask. Second, when transmit power is not allocated to some subcarriers overlapping the band of the victim system in order to mitigate B3G OFDM-based systems interference with other systems, the general analytical model can successfully assess the interference from the B3G systems into FS systems, whereas the MCL method incorporating the spectrum emission mask cannot be applied in the presence of the same interference condition. The proposed model can be derived in a closed form and is simply implemented with the help of simulation, and thus the solution can be obtained in significantly reduced time. Through application of the proposed model, coexistence results are analyzed in a co-channel and adjacent channel with respect to guard band and minimum separation distance.

  • OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) 방식은 주파수 선택적 페이딩 (frequency selective fading)과 협대역 간섭 (narrowband interference)에 강한 전송 방식으로 고속 데이터 통신에 적합하다. 하지만, OFDM 신호는 독립적으로 변조된 많은 부반송파들로 구성되므로 이들이 동위상으로 더해질 때 신호의 진폭이 증가하여 PAPR (Peak-to-Average Power Ratio) 문제가 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 OFDM의 PAPR 감소는 물론 고주파 성분 제어를 통하여 대역 외 스펙트럼 방출을 줄이고 clipping에 의한 왜곡을 감소시킬 수 있다. 시뮬레이션 과정을 통해 OFDM 시스템에 제안하는 알고리즘을 적용했을 경우, PAPR의 감소 정도와 PSD (Power Spectral Density), BER (Bit Error Rate)을 분석한다.

  • The trolley carrying the pod moves along by the airfield runway. The pod through the trolley are subjected to vibration arising from the ground state, the precision optical components in the pod can have a significant impact. The road tests were conducted by using the measurement pod to remove the risk for the project. The measurement pod was composed with the ACRA, sensors, battery. The accelerometers were attached to get the acceleration through the road condition. The PSD envelop was calculated by FFT from the acceleration. The driving safety was proven through comparing the measurement data and MIL-STD-810G specification.

풍력터빈 타워 하중 저감을 위한 타워 댐퍼 게인 스케줄링 알고리즘 설계 (Design of Tower Damper Gain Scheduling Algorithm for Wind Turbine Tower Load Reduction)

  • This paper deals with the NREL (National Renewable Energy Laboratory) 5-MW reference wind turbine. The controller which include MPPT (Maximum power point tracking) control algorithm and tower load reduction control algorithm was designed by MATLAB Simulink. This paper propose a tower damper algorithm to improve the existing tower damper algorithm. To improve the existing tower damper algorithm, proposed tower damper algorithm were applied the thrust sensitivity scheduling and PI control method. The thrust sensitivity scheduling was calculated by thrust force formula which include thrust coefficient table. Power and Tower root moment DEL (Damage Equivalent Load) was set as a performance index to verify the load reduction algorithm. The simulation were performed 600 seconds under the wind conditions of the NTM (Normal Turbulence Model), TI (Turbulence Intensity)16% and 12~25m/s average wind speed. The effect of the proposed tower damper algorithm is confirmed through PSD (Power Spectral Density). The proposed tower damper algorithm reduces the fore-aft moment DEL of the tower up to 6% than the existing tower damper algorithm.

  • Interference effects of ultra-wideband devices using the frequency band from 3.1 to 10.6 GHz on wireless broadband are evaluated. The ultra-wideband emission power spectral density that would be necessary to protect a wireless broadband station is considered. Also, an analytic scheme based on a system level simulation of a WiBro system is proposed.

  • In these days, customers require high-quality, high-performance, high-ride comfort for Automobile and then the automotive manufacturers concentrated on study of electrical, high-performance, low-cost of parts and sub-parts. In this paper, for ride comfort estimation PSD(Power Spectral Density) of acceleration at eight test point are measured, and then are calculated with new index of ride comfort. The new index of ride comfort developed for optimal design, real test, applied the actual. It can apply for various fields.
