A Study on the Global Management Strategy for Product Quality Assurance Based on Brand Power and Country of Origin Effect (글로벌 품질보증 경영 전략에 관한 연구: 브랜드 명성 및 제조 국가 이미지를 중심으로)

  • Purpose - Numerous studies have tried to assess the role of a warranty as an explanatory instrument for product quality. While one study argued that manufacturers signal their superior quality to consumers by extending the duration of a warranty, quality is not necessarily related to warranty and a warranty for a short duration is a sign of high product quality. However, there are limitations to measuring product quality in terms of a single variable such as a warranty. Some other studies have evaluated the influence of brand power or value and price on the supposed quality of a product while the influence of warranty was found to be insignificant. Research design, data, methodology - The study analyzes the influence of brand power and the country of origin effect on consumers' perception of product quality in line with warranty and establishes a priority strategy. Especially, consumer experience has a significant influence on state of the art technology products like applied home electronics as these goods are generally quite expensive and consumers expend significant energy in purchasing them, so the associated warranty and brand can have a critical role in the decision making process. The price of the product was excluded in this discussion as it continually varies with the market share of the product. Results - The results of the analysis are as follows: First, each of the factors such as the standard of the warranty, brand power, and country of origin effect influences the degree of satisfaction of an individual. Second, the factors brand power and quality of the warranty interact both complementarily and synergistically at a time, depending on the brand power. As brand power is more significant, the degree of satisfaction is greater in case of products with low quality warranty compared to those with high quality warranty. Third, the brand power and country of origin effect present a complementary interaction. Fourth, the country of origin effect and quality of a warranty interact synergistically. Conclusions - Thus, the higher the quality of warranty, greater is the increment in the degree of satisfaction. The comprehensive study on the effect of the country of origin on the purchase decision process and the degree of satisfaction compared to the other elements shows that in case of Japanese and Korean markets the brand power of a company is desirable in sustaining the quality of warranty to the industrial average. Also, there is no significant improvement in the perceived quality of the product when the quality of the warranty is lowered. Therefore, the warranty effect diminishes when the value of the brand is known, while it perishes when both the brand power and the country of origin effect are strong enough.

  • In recent years, many researches for DC power distributed system (PDS) are being preformed and the importance of the DC PDS is more and more emphasized. Furthermore, in the railway system, the DC PDS is used in subway station lighting, facilities, etc. In the DC PDS, DC bus voltage instability may be occurred by the operation of multiple parallel loads such as pulsed power load, motor drive system, and constant power loads. Thus, good quality and high reliability for electric power are required and voltage bus conditioner (VBC) may be used the DC PDS. The VBC is a DC/DC converter for mitigation of the bus transients. In this paper, adaptive controller is designed. The simulation results by PSIM are presented for validating the proposed control algorithm.

  • This paper deals with the grid-interactive small battery energy storage system, which aims at the integration o( power quality improvement and demand side management. The main purpose of the proposed system is to achieve the peak power cutting and to compensate the current harmonics and reactive power at the point of installation on power distribution for residential homes. paper deals with the grid-interactive small battery energy storage system, In this paper, the basic principle and control algorithm is analyzed, theoretically and the design methodology of the system is discussed. To verify the proposed system, a comprehensive evaluation with theoretical analysis, simulation and experimental results for 1 KVA load capacity is presented.

  • Resistance spot welding is commonly used for welding products of high quality because of clean welding and short w welding-time. But. conventional spot welders bring about the depreciation of welding products, iuespective of dynamic r resistance characteristics during welding time. This paper discussed dynamic resistance database implementation in t terms of welding performance improvement. On different welding conditions, we compared dynamic resistance, r respectively, about pure iron and Sn-Pb alloy on Copper. Also, it investigated the relation of tensile shear strength and d dynamic resistance in welded workpiece.

  • The development of diesel power generation is predominantly geared toward island areas or ships because diesel exhibits weak scale-merit characteristics and power quality problems, which are associated with environmental pollution. However, a new energy paradigm, distribution energy resource (DER), has been emerging as a renewable energy source due to the existing structural problems in waste disposal and complex factors such as the conversion technology of waste emulsified oil (WDF). By combining extended producer responsibility (EPR) support and renewable energy certificates (REC), including waste energy REC 0.25 for other bioenergy and REC 1.0 for power transactions, an adequate profit model can be built through self-energetic power generation, thereby drawing keen attention from related industries. Therefore, if WDF is used appropriately as a high-quality engine fuel, it can lead to the development of various fields such as novel renewable energy sectors, waste management, and EPR-related industries. This study is intended to produce WDF using plastic waste by using it as engine-generator fuel. Moreover, we investigate ways to improve the quality and suitability of WDF as an engine fuel.

  • Due to the development of the petroleum refining technology and continuously increased demand from markets, a quantity of gasoline and diesel oil produced from a restricted quantity of crude oil has been increasing, and residual fuel to be used at marine diesel engines has been gradually becoming low quality. As a result, it was recently reported that trouble oils which cause abnormal combustion such as knocking with extreme noise and misfire from internal combustion engines were increasing throughout the world. In this study, an author investigated ignitability and combustion quality by using combustion analyzer with constant volume(FCA, Fuel Combustion Analyzer) and middle speed diesel engine about MDO(Marine Diesel Oil), HFO(Heavy Fuel Oil), LCO(Light Cycle Oil) and Blend-HFO which was blended LCO of 1000 liters with HFO of 600 liters. Moreover, for betterment of ignitability and combustion quality of injected fuels, multi-injection experiment was carried out in the diesel engine using Blend-HFO. According to the results of FCA analysis, ignitability and combustion quality was bad in the order of MDO

  • In this paper, the inverter spot welding system with high efficiency via an instantaneous power control is presented. In spot welding, instantaneous power control is utilized in order to attain less spatter and high welding performance. Also we proposed a PI controller for spot welder system using Evolution Strategy(ES) with varying search space. ES with varying search space which depends on fitness values at each generation is used to tune PI control parameters

  • The necessity of voice recording device was increased using voice signal IC with designed LSI/VLSI. The control unit which developed here voice recorder has low power dissipation, portable, and comfortable using voice source. However, the Korea voice recorder abilities far behind of foreign products for its performance and size on sailing. So we used Chua circuit to improvement voice quality abilities after minimize power supply device and circuit by designing voice recording device into lower power dissipation power circuit.

  • High quality of turbine babbit bearing has to be maintained for smooth operation of power plants. So in the research center of the Korea Electric Power Company, Ultrasonic testing has been peformed on the spare part of babbit bearing during past ten years. Since separation between babbit bearing and base metal was seen for most of the bearings in stock, investigation has begun in order to see the effect on temperature and humidity variation of the separation, and thus searching for the optimum storage method.
