  • This paper describes current controlled PWM technique of PM synchronous motors for a wide variety of speed control applications. They are however limited in their ability to operate in the power limited regime where the available torque is reduced as the speed is increased above its base value. This paper reviews the operation of the PMSM drives when they are constrained to be within the permissible envelope of maximum inverter voltage and current to produce the rated power and to provide this with the highest attainable rotor speed. The optimal field-weakening control algorithm is the use of phase current and d-axis current feedback to reduce of error between the d-axis current command and real current and to improve the torque characteristics. The improved torque characteristics of speed control strategy with optimal field weakening control algorithm is analyzed and the performance is investigated by the computer simulation and experimental results. • In this paper, we propose the intelligent robot control technique for mobile robot using personal digital assistants (PDA). With the proposed technique, the mobile rebot can trace human at regular intervals by the remote control method with PDA. The mobile robot can recognize the distances between it and human whom the robot must follow with both multi-ultrasonic sensors and PC-camera and then, can inference the direction and velocity of itself to keep the given regular distances. In the first place, the mobile robot acquires the information about circumstances using ultrasonic sensor and PC-camera then secondly, transmits the data to PDA using wireless LAN communication. Finally, PDA recognizes the status of circumstances using the fuzzy logic and neural network and gives the command to mobile robot again.

  • In this paper the control methods for the synchronous generator is designed based on the two-degree-of-freedom (TDOF) control methods which can safisty the command following property and Robust control property at the same time. The power systems is reduced to one machine infinite-bus system. Robust stability of the proposed power system stabilizer is checked through the simulation considering the circumstance which can happen in real situation.

  • This paper presents a high performance ZPE(zero-phase-error) speed controller for PMSM(permanent magnet synchronous motor) drives. A comparison study between conventional general purpose speed controller in modern industry fields such as PI, IP and 2-degree of freedom controller presented also. The proposed ZPE speed controller is found suitable for vector controlled PMSM drives in giving the high level of performance while maintaining the excellent response at the time of speed command changing. In MATLAB-based comparative simulation and experiment results with commercial drive system, the proposed method shows a superior control performance compared with the conventional speed controller widely-used.

  • The vector controlled induction motor(I.M) with speed sensor has been widely used for variable speed drive systems. In these application fileds, speed sensorless control are expected strongly to progress reliability, simplicity and cost performance of I.M and to expand its application part. This paper describes a novel speed sensorless control method of I.M based on feedforward quick torque response control technique. Especially, this paper aimed at the realization of sensorless control in the very low speed region, The proposed method can be formulated simply from a motor circuit equation and conducted easily by detecting primary motor currents and a voltage command at every sampling time. Throughout some results of numerical simulations with the assumption of using a pulse width modulation(PWM) voltage source inverter, the validity of the method was successfully confirmed.

  • To meet the demand increasing passengers in railway vehicles, railway transportation service companies are increasing the numbers of cars per train-set. Two solutions, Variable train-set formations and Multiple train-set operation, are common way to increase the transportation capability. These kind of long distance train-set can effect train-set command and control system, and sometimes the digital signals using train line from master cabin can not reach to the systems located the other extremity slave car. This is so called Voltage Drop. This phenomenon is originated from the electrical power consumption and electrical cable resistance, and cause to the equipments or cars located end of the electrical cable way, malfunction or abnormal operations. This voltage drop happens not only in train lines but also Battery Power Lines. The purpose of this investigation is to design high reliability railway vehicles by clarifying the possibility of happening these events case by case, by analyzing the reasons, and finally by finding the best solutions.

  • The windup phenomenon appears and degrades control performance when a controller with integrating action is used and plant input is limited. An anti-windup integal-proportional(IP) controller is proposed for the variable-speed moter drives and it is experimentally applied to the speed control of a vector-controlled induction moter driven by a pulse width modulated (PWM) voltage source inverter (VSI). The consistency range of the IP controller is firstly derived and the intergal state is controlled to salisfy always the consistency range according to whether the the controller output is saturated or not. Although the operating condition like moter load or speed command is changed under the limited plant input, It is expermentally verified that the speed response has much improved performance, such as no overshoot and fast settling time, and the maximmum plant input is also effectively utilized.

  • This paper presents compact cryptographic hardware architecture suitable for the Mobile Trusted Module (MTM) that requires low-area and low-power characteristics. The built-in cryptographic engine in the MTM is one of the most important circuit blocks and contributes to the performance of the whole platform because it is used as the key primitive supporting digital signature, platform integrity and command authentication. Unlike personal computers, mobile platforms have very stringent limitations with respect to available power, physical circuit area, and cost. Therefore special architecture and design methods for a compact cryptographic hardware module are required. The proposed cryptographic hardware has a chip area of 38K gates for RSA and 12.4K gates for unified SHA-1 and SHA-256 respectively on a 0.25um CMOS process. The current consumption of the proposed cryptographic hardware consumes at most 3.96mA for RSA and 2.16mA for SHA computations under the 25MHz.

  • This paper studies on the design of a servo controller for an antilock brake system(ABS) based on the car tire model. First, a nonlinear differential equation of the car tire is constructed and its linearization model is obtained by Taylor's series. Second, a servo controller based on the mathematical model is analytically designed to obtain the maximum brake force, where the tire velocity and the slip ratio of car tire are respectively controlled to the given command values. Third, it is theoretically shown that the proposed control algorithm has good usefulness in ABS.

  • TFM(Transeverse Flux Motor) is a switched reluctance motor with a new structure of novel design concept based on the high efficiency and power density compare to induction motor used on wide industrial field. To apply TFM to various industrial field instead of induction motor, an efficient converter drive system for speed and current control in TFM is required. This paper realized PWM asymmetric converter drive control system for TFM using IGBT and DSP. To certificate the high power and efficiency drive characteristics of realized PWM converter drive control system. simulation was excecuted on speed command and load variation using Matlab/Simulink.
