  • The field of dye-sensitized solar cell (DSC) is being researched actively at present. Because DSC has several advantages to pass the limits of Si solar cells such as a low manufacturing expense, a simple manufacturing process and its transparency. A lot of researches are underway about materials and processes in the field of dye-sensitized solar cell but its structure has been fixed up as the sandwich structure that both edges are used as positive and negative terminals. But the structure as of present is a factor of decreasing efficiency because the more electrons are recombined the further distance from terminal, considering about the characteristic of dye-sensitized solar cell that electrons generated inside cell are moved by diffusion. In this study, we made experiment on expanding the terminal to shorten internal moving distance of electron and compared the results according to the variation of active area to find out the effect of this trial. As a result, we achieved about 15.5% improvement of maximum power and 0.5% improvement of efficiency from terminal-expanded dye-sensitized solar cell of $2cm^{2}$ active area and concluded that the increasing rate of efficiency is raised as the active area becomes wider.

비상발전기용량 산정식 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of the Arithmetic for Emergency Generator Capacity)

  • This paper describes the improvement of the arithmetic for emergency generator capacity. This formula which calculates emergency generator is dependent on the Korean Design Standard of building electrical equipment issued by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and the technical data related to the generator. when appling the formula, the capacity of the generator is insufficient at the starting conditions of the load facility. In case of emergency, the generator is not operated normally. $PG_2$ of the formula ($PG_1$, $PG_2$, $PG_3$) applied in determining the capacity of the emergency generator is selected by calculating the capacity of the generator based on only biggest one motor among the load equipment and $PG_3$ may not be able to start the generator normally in case of emergency because there is an error such that the power factor is applied at the last start of the motor having the maximum capacity of the load. We analyze the problem of capacity calculation of emergency generators used for general purposes. As a consequence, the improved formulas have been presented for safety of electrical installation.

  • This paper presents the performance investigation and design technology of a Line Start-up Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (LSPMSM) with super premium efficiency, including a design consideration and evaluation for motor start-up, key performance, and advanced finite element analysis FEA) for the design, improvement and verification, prototype build and test, design and test data comparison with a $Premium^{(R)}$ Efficient Induction Motor (PEIM). To assess the design technology, the LSPMSM prototype was built amended from a PEIM with the same frame, stator punching and rated output. Based on the prototype test, two novel design improvements and analyses have been done to eliminate noise and vibration. Additionally, the comparisons with the PEIM on the power factor, efficiency, frame size and active material consumption indicated that a significant performance improvement and active material cost reduction can be achieved by the LSPMSM.

  • With the increasing the importance of emotional quality of vehicle, the sound quality of systems with electric motor components has become increasingly important. Electric motors are used for windows, seats, sun roof, mirrors, steering columns, windshield wiper, climate control blowers, etc. In this paper, a study was conducted to identify sound quality factors that contribute to customer's satisfaction and preference of the window lift system. Jury test for subjective evaluation was carried out and sound quality index was developed. Averaged sound pressure level and sharpness were significant factors when glass moves down. Also, maximum loudness at stop section and averaged loudness were significant factor when glass moves up. Noise source identification was carried out for the reduced the loudness and sharpness during glass transferred section and impulsive noise at stop section, Using the source identification result, several improvement points were applied. And finally, the degree of sound quality improvement was judged using sound quality index.

Importance of Green Density of Nanoparticle Precursor Film in Microstructural Development and Photovoltaic Properties of CuInSe2 Thin Films

  • We demonstrate here that an improvement in precursor film density (green density) leads to a great enhancement in the photovoltaic performance of CuInSe2 (CISe) thin film solar cells fabricated with Cu-In nanoparticle precursor films via chemical solution deposition. A cold-isostatic pressing (CIP) technique was applied to uniformly compress the precursor film over the entire surface (measuring 3~4 cm2) and was found to increase its relative density (particle packing density) by ca. 20%, which resulted in an appreciable improvement in the microstructural features of the sintered CISe film in terms of lower porosity, reduced grain boundaries, and a more uniform surface morphology. The low-bandgap (Eg=1.0 eV) CISe PV devices with the CIP-treated film exhibited greatly enhanced open-circuit voltage (VOC, from 0.265 V to 0.413 V) and fill factor (FF, from 0.34 to 0.55), as compared to the control devices. As a consequence, an almost 3-fold increase in the average power conversion efficiency, 3.0 to 8.2% (with the highest value of 9.02%), was realized without an anti-reflection coating. A diode analysis revealed that the enhanced VOC and FF were essentially attributed to the reduced reverse saturation current density (j0) and diode ideality factor (n). This is associated with the suppressed recombination, likely due to the reduction in recombination sites such as grain/air surfaces (pores), inter-granular interfaces, and defective CISe/CdS junctions in the CIP-treated device. From the temperature dependences of VOC, it was confirmed that the CIP-treated devices suffer less from interface recombination.

가우시안 잡음이 존재하는 무선채널에서 Chirp RTLS 시스템의 성능 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Performance Characteristics of a Chirp RTLS over Wireless Channel with Gaussian Noise)

  • 첩 신호는 그 양호한 코릴레이션 특성으로 인하여 전통적으로 레이더에서 주로 사용되어 왔으나, 최근에는 ISO/IEC 24730-5와 IEEE 802.15.4a 등에서 위치추적을 위한 표준규격으로 선정되어 여러 회사에서 이 방식을 구현하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 무선채널을 라이시안 채널로 모델링하고, 신호대 간섭 잡음비를 S/I = -30[dB], -20[dB], -10[dB]의 세가지 경우로 고려하고, 각 경우마다 라이시안 팩터 K=10과 K=20를 적용하여 성능을 시뮬레이션하여 평가하였다. 성능평가 결과, S/I = -30[dB]에서는 K=10에서 K=20으로 신호조건이 변화하면서 25%의 성능이 향상되었고, S/I = -20[dB]에서는 약 27%, S/I = -10[dB]에서는 약 50%의 성능이 향상되었다. 결과적으로 S/I=-20[dB] 미만인 경우 가시성분이 성능을 향상시킨다고 하더라도 신호의 전력은 필요한 최소값이 요구된다. 한편, 신호대 잡음비가 S/I=-20[dB] 이상으로 유지되는 경우 신호의 가시성분을 강화시킨다면 시스템의 성능을 크게 향상시킬 수 있다.

철도사고 인적오류 분석을 위한 지원시스템 프레임웍 설계 (A Framework for Computerized Human Error Analysis System - Focused on the Railway Industry)

  • Human errors are now considered as the most significant source of accidents or incidents in large-scale systems such as aircraft, vessels, railway, and nuclear power plants. As 61% of the train accidents in Korea railway involving collisions, derailments and fires were caused by human errors, there is a strong need for a systematic research that can help to prevent human errors. Although domestic railway operating companies use a variety of methods for analyzing human errors, there is much room for improvement. Especially, because most of them are based on written papers, there is a definite need for a well-developed computerized system supporting human error analyzing tasks. The purpose of this study is to propose a framework for a computerized human error analysis system focused on the railway industry on the basis of human error analysis mechanism. The proposed framework consists of human error analysis (HEA) module, similar accident tracking (SAT) module, cause factor recommendation (CFR) module, cause factor management (CFM) module, and statistics (ST) module.

국내외 지침 비교를 통한 Grommet 작업 안전성 향상 방안 연구 (Improvement of Grommet Work Safety by Comparision of Domestic and Foreign Guidelines)

  • The number of deaths caused by power crane accidents continues to decline. Nevertheless, more than 50 people die each year due to these accidents. Various types of slings, such as wire rope sling, chain sling, belt sling, and grommet, are used in industries, depending on the characteristics of the work involved. To reduce the number of accidents involving these slings, the formulation of technical measures and education of workers are necessary. This study compares and analyzes local and international guidelines as well as those found in manufacturer manuals in relation to grommets, which are widely used in shipyards and construction sites. Moreover, measures for improving the safety of work using grommet are reviewed. This paper further proposes the revision of the technical guidelines of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency such that the information directly affecting the safety of work involving grommets is included. By clarifying the guidelines that manufacturers provide in their manuals, accident prevention through worker awareness is anticipated in the future.

파력발전용 직접구동터빈의 성능에 미치는 수심의 영향 (Effect of Water Depth on the Performance of a Direct Drive Turbine for Wave Energy Converter)

  • Development of high efficiency turbine with good performance is one of the main topics in the field of developing wave energy converter. For the development and improvement of the turbine performance, the effect of wave condition on the turbine performance should be considered in detail. Also, water depth is an important factor because incident wave power to the turbine is considerably influenced by the wave particle amplitude of motion and the amplitude is closely related with the water depth. Therefore, in this study, the effect of water depth on the performance of a direct drive turbine(DDT) for wave energy converter is investigated using the DDT which is installed in two types of wave channel. The experimental results show that the DDT captures more wave energy under the condition of relatively shallow water depth. When the water depth is shallow, the horizontal water particle amplitude of motion becomes wider and thus, the water power toward the turbine becomes larger.

  • 조직특성 및 안전문화는 매우 다양한 요인들을 포함하고 있으며, 그러한 안전문화의 향상을 위해서는 다양한 방법으로 접근되어야 한다. 구조방정식모형 분석을 통해 복합화력발전소의 안전문화 요인의 영향관계 검증결과 경영진의 관심도가 증가할수록 교육훈련정도의 향상과, 의사소통 및 안전참여의 향상에 긍정적인 역할을 함을 알 수 있었다. 그리고, 교육훈련 강도가 높을수록 근무향상에 도움이 될 것이 예측되었다.
