  • 본 연구에서는 몬테카를로 시뮬레이션을 사용하여 상정사고를 고려한 전력탁송에 따른 영향평가를 할 수 있도록 하였으며, 이로써 전력탁송에 따른 탁송회사의 발전비용, 송전손실, 계통안전도에 미치는 영향을 분석할 수 있도록 하였다. 제안한 방법을 시험계통에 적용하여 본 연구의 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • This paper presents a algorism for evaluating contingency case power wheeling effects using Monte-Carlo simulation The effects of wheeling on generating cost, transmission losses, and system security are considered. For a specific operating condition, the effects are quantified by the sensitivity of specific quantities of interest with respect to wheeling level. This model is utilized within a Monte-Carlo simulation to calculate probability distribution functions of the incremental effects of wheeling on operating cost, transmission losses, and system security. The model and solution methods are applied on a IEEE RTS-96 system power system and the results are presented.

  • This paper presents new approaches for the calculation for the calculation of each user's wheeling prices based on the economic analysis method with focus on the postage stamp rule. The suggested postage stamp rules can overcome the following problems embedded in the conventional accounting-costs-based methods such as the volatileness of wheeling prices depending deprieciation methods, emerging the wheeling free-riders due to the difference between accounting life-time and technical life-time, price discrimination between firm and non-firm network users, etc. To solve these problems we suggest new postage stamp rules employing capital recovery factor for investment costs treatment and applying technical life-time. Furthermore, we have suggested a new formulation for non-firm wheeling users based on the wheeling energies. In the case study, the results of suggested postage stamp methodologies are compared with those of conventional approaches.

  • This paper presents the evaluation results of Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) system's power wheeling costs based on the postage stamp method. The results of several postage-stamp-based methodologies are compared where some of them are the conventional approaches. others are new approaches suggested in this paper. The approaches developed in this paper are suitable for a system where transmission transactions are occurred within a vertically integrated power system just like as Korea, Japan. etc. Also, they can overcome limitations related on the depreciation costs application. Test results show that the computed wheeling costs are around 4.0 [won/kWh] in 1995, and it is anticipated that the cost will increase when considering transmission network losses and ancillary costs.

  • This paper presents an algorithm for evaluating power wheeling effects. For a specific operating condition, the effects are quantified by the sensitivity of specific quantities of interest with respect to power wheeling level.   • The resonant inverter is widely used for induction heating, electronic ballast and supersonic motor driving circuit. In the meantime, control techniques of PWM, PFM etc.. are mainly applied to control the output power of the resonant inverter. But, in the case of using the half bridge resonant inverter, it is difficult to control the output power by PWM, because its main circuit does not provide the load free-wheeling mode. Therefore, PAM or PFM was usually applied to control output power of half bridge resonant inverter. However, PAM needs a variable DC voltage source, which makes the system structure more complex. On the other hand, in case of PFM, efficiency is declined by operation with poor power factor. This paper Proposed the novel half bridge resonant inverter which can provide the load free-wheeling mode. Also its analysis results for PWM operation with unity fundamental power factor are Presented and compared with other resonant inverters using PWM and PFM.

두 팔을 가지는 변형 가능한 구형로봇 (A Deformable Spherical Robot with Two Arms)

  • In this paper, we present a new type of spherical robot having two arms. This robot, called KisBot, mechanically consists of three parts, a wheel-shaped body and two rotating semi-spheres. In side of each semi-sphere, there exists an arm which is designed based on slider-crank mechanism for space efficiency. KisBot has hybrid types of driving mode: rolling and wheeling. In the rolling mode, the robot folds its arms through inside of itself and uses them as pendulum, then the robot works like a pendulum-driven robot. In the wheeling mode, two arms are extended from inside of the robot and are contacted to the ground, then the robot works like a one-wheel car. The Robot arms can be used as a brake during rolling mode and add friction to the robot for climbing a slope during wheeling mode. We developed a remote controlled type robot for experiment. It contains two DC motors which are located in the center of each semi-sphere for main propulsion, two RC motors for each arm operation, speed controllers for each semi-sphere, batteries for main power source, and other mechanical components. Experiments for the rolling and wheeling mode verify the hybrid driving ability and efficiency of the our proposed spherical robot.

Integrated Thyristor Switch Structures for Capacitor Discharge Application

  • A thyristor switch circuit for capacitor discharge application, of which the equivalent circuit includes a resistor between cathode and gate of a reverse-conducting thyristor and an avalanche diode anti-parallel between its anode and gate to set thyristor tum-on voltage, is monolithically integrated by planar process with AVE double-implantation method. To ensure a lower breakdown voltage of the avalanche diode for thyristor tum-on than the break-over voltage of the thyristor, $p^+$ wells on thyristor p base layer are made by boron implantation/drive-in for a steeper doping profile with higher concentrations while rest p layers of thyristor and free-wheeling diode parts are formed with Al implantation/drive-in for a doping profile of lower steepness. The free-wheeling diode part is isolated from the thyristor part by formation of separated p-well emitter for suppressing commutation between them, which is achieved during the formation of thyristor p-base layer.

  • 본 논문에서는 FB ZVT PWM DC-DC 컨버터에서 영전압 스위칭에 도달하기 위해 두 개의 보조 스위치 대신에 가포화 인덕터를 사용한다. 기존의 고주파 위상 변위 FB ZVT PWM DC-DC 컨버터는 프리휠링 주기동안 고주파 변압기와 스위칭 소자를 통해 흐르는 순환전류를 갖으며, 이러한 순환전류로 인해 컨버터의 도전손실이 증가한다. 이러한 손실을 줄이기 위해 변압기의 2차측에 도전손실저감회로를 제안한다. 컨버터의 동작원리를 자세하게 설명하고 제안된 회로를 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통해 검증하였다.

병렬커패시터를 사용한 DC chopper의 특성연구 (A study on the characteristics of DC chopper using a parallel chpacitor)

  • DC choppers are usually used to control the DC motor by varying the average value of DC input voltage to the DC motors. In this paper, a chopper circuit is suggested and reconstructed by replacing the free-wheeling diode with the parallel capacitor in the conventional ones. It is demonstrated that this chopper circuit with capacitor can reduce the ripples of the output voltage and current in contrast to those of the chopper with diode, and it can be controlled the output waveforms smoothly at high power demand.
