PSR 모델을 이용한 메탄-공기 희박 예혼합 연소의 NOx 생성 경로 연구 (A Study on NOx Formation Pathway of Methane-Air Lean Premixed Combustion by using PSR Model)

  • In this study the predictions of NOx in methane-air lean premixed combustion in PSR were carried out with GRI 3.0 methane-air combustion mechanism and Zeldovich, nitrous oxide, prompt, and NNH NO formation mechanism by using CHEMKIN code. The results are compared to the JSR experimental data of Rutar for the validation of the model. This study concerns about the importance of the chemical pathways. The chemical pathway most likely to form the NO in methane-air lean-premixed combustion was investigated. The results obtained with the 4 different NO mechanisms for residence time(0.5-1.6ms) and pressure(3, 4.7, 6.5 atm) are compared and discussed.

Development of an Integrated Power Market Simulator for the Korean Electricity Market

  • At present, the Korean electricity industry is undergoing restructuring and the Cost Based-generation Pool (CBP) market is being operated in preparation of a Two Way Bidding Pool (TWBP) market. In deregulated electricity industries, an integrated power market simulator is one of the tools that can be used by market participants and market operators analyzing market behaviors and studying market structures and market codes. In this regard, it is very important to develop an electricity market simulator that reflects market code providing a market operation mechanism. This paper presents the development of an integrated market simulator, called the Power Exchange Simulator (PEXSIM), which is designed to imitate the Korean electricity market considering the various features of the market operating mechanism such as uniform price and constrained on/off payment. The PEXSIM is developed in VB.NET and composed of five modules whose titles are M-SIM, P-SIM, O-SIM, T-SIM and G-SIM interfacing the Access database program. To verify the features and the performance of the PEXSIM, a small Two Way bidding market with a 12-bus system and a One Way bidding market for generator competition will be presented for the electricity market simulations using PEXSIM.

Effect of octadecylamine concentration on adsorption on carbon steel surface

  • Octadecylamine is an effective film-forming amine that protects carbon steel from corrosion. In the present study, the effect of octadecylamine concentration on adsorption on a carbon steel surface was investigated in anaerobic alkaline solution by using SEM/EDS, TEM and the Materials Studio simulation techniques. TEM morphology observation and EDS elemental detection determine the thicknesses of octadecylamine film on a carbon steel surface, which are confirmed by the in-situ electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurement and resistance calculation. The Materials Studio simulation reveals the number of octadecylamine film layers at different concentrations. Results obtained in this study indicate that adsorption of octadecylamine film on carbon steel proceeds with the multi-layer adsorption mechanism.

Adaptive second-order nonsingular terminal sliding mode power-level control for nuclear power plants

  • This paper focuses on the power-level control of nuclear power plants (NPPs) in the presence of lumped disturbances. An adaptive second-order nonsingular terminal sliding mode control (ASONTSMC) scheme is proposed by resorting to the second-order nonsingular terminal sliding mode. The pre-existing mathematical model of the nuclear reactor system is firstly described based on point-reactor kinetics equations with six delayed neutron groups. Then, a second-order sliding mode control approach is proposed by integrating a proportional-derivative sliding mode (PDSM) manifold with a nonsingular terminal sliding mode (NTSM) manifold. An adaptive mechanism is designed to estimate the unknown upper bound of a lumped uncertain term that is composed of lumped disturbances and system states real-timely. The estimated values are then added to the controller, resulting in the control system capable of compensating the adverse effects of the lumped disturbances efficiently. Since the sign function is contained in the first time derivative of the real control law, the continuous input signal is obtained after integration so that the chattering effects of the conventional sliding mode control are suppressed. The robust stability of the overall control system is demonstrated through Lyapunov stability theory. Finally, the proposed control scheme is validated through simulations and comparisons with a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller, a super twisting sliding mode controller (STSMC), and a disturbance observer-based adaptive sliding mode controller (DO-ASMC).

친수성/소수성 수평 표면상에서의 액적이송 메커니즘 (Droplet Transport Mechanism on Horizontal Hydrophilic/Hydrophobic Surfaces)

  • 유체이송 기술은 최근 마이크로 유체시스템 개발에서 핵심문제로 인식되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 최근 저자가 제안한 외부동력을 사용하지 않고 액적을 이송시킬 수 있는 새로운 개념인 친수성/소수성 수평 표면에서의 액적이송을 자체개발 코드(PowerCFD)를 사용하여 수치해석하였다. 수치해석에 사용된 코드는 보존적인 압력기반 유한체적방법에 기초한 비정렬 셀 중심 방법 및 VOF 방법에 체적포착법인 CICSAM을 채용하고 있다. 액적 내 및 주위의 속도벡터, 압력분포 및 전체운동에너지와 같은 수치해석 결과를 제시하고 이 결과들을 통해 액적이송 메커니즘을 규명하였다.

LTE 시스템에서 양방향 지연을 고려한 전력절감 방식 (Power-Saving Mechanism Considering Round-Trip Delay in LTE Systems)

  • 본 논문에서는 Long-Term Evolution (LTE) 시스템에서 사용자 단말과 통신하는 상대노드 사이에 발생하는 양방향 지연을 고려하여 새로운 전력절감 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안하는 전력절감 알고리즘은 양방향 지연을 겪는 트래픽 발생 패턴에 맞추어 기존 LTE 시스템의 전력절감 알고리즘에서 사용하는 단말 상태 천이 순서를 반대로 적용한다. 발생하는 양방향 지연을 수학적으로 모델링한 후 제안 전력절감 방식의 성능을 단말의 에너지 소비량과 패킷의 버퍼링 지연 관점에서 분석한다. 운용 파라미터의 변화에 따라 이들 성능을 에너지-지연 트레이드오프 곡선으로 특성화하고 이를 통해 제안하는 전력절감 방식이 기존 LTE 표준의 전력절감 방식과 비교하여 에너지와 지연 성능 모두를 효과적으로 향상시키고 있음을 확인한다.

레이디얼 피스톤 펌프의 피스톤 접촉 메커니즘 개발 (Development of piston contact mechanism for radial piston pump)

  • This paper presents the experimental results of the radial piston type oil pump with new mechanism for a metal diaphragm hydrogen compressor. Generally, metal diaphragm type hydrogen compressor systems are operated by oil hydraulic power. In this system an oil compensating pump has been demanded to compensate for a leakage oil head chamber. The metal diaphragm type hydrogen compressor consists of an oil compensating pump, commonly used hydraulic piston pump and driven by main crank shaft. The radial piston type oil compensating pump with new rolling contacted piston mechanism is developed and experimented. The developed piston element of the radial piston pump consists of piston, steel ball, return spring, two check valves, eccentric cam and ball racer. In this study, designed 4 type pistons as and orifice hole. Operating characteristics and pressure ripple characteristics are tested under no load to 60bar loaded with every 20bar increasing step and pressure ripple and flow rate are experimentally investigated.

6절 링크를 이용한 진동굴취기의 설계요인 (Design Parameters of A Six-bar Linkage Vibrating Digger)

  • An oscillating digger mechanism was designed, constructed. and tested. The mechanism is consisted of a six-bar linkage, one four-bar linkage was fer the digger blade and the other one fur variable soil-crop separation. Experimental variables were amplitude(3, 6, 9 mm). frequency(11.2, 14.9. 17.0 Hz), and forward speed of tractor(0.91, 1.13, 1.56 km/h). Each combination of these variables was replicated three times to measure the draft and torque for power requirement evaluation. and the broken-up soil height on the soil separation sieve mechanism. Four parameters λ(the ratio of vibration speed to forward velocity), p(the ratio of vibration acceleration to forward velocity), K(the ratio of vibration acceleration to gravitational acceleration), and T(the product of λ and K) were induced from three experimental variables: amplitude, frequency, and tractor speed. And the power requirement and soil separation ability were analyzed by regression. Though λ and K were known to be the representative parameters. T was the most moderate one to explain draft. torque. and soil separation in this study. It was estimated that the T equal to or greater than 2.4 was the minimum recommended value. Figure 18 would be useful fir the selection of amplitude. frequency, or operating tractor speed once any two variables are known.

고속 공기압 실린더용 릴리프밸브형 쿠션기구의 특성 해석 (Analysis of Cushion Mechanism with Relief Valve for High-Speed Pneumatic Cylinders)

  • This paper presents a simulation model of a double-acting high-speed pneumatic cylinder with a relief valve type cushion mechanism. The model predicts piston motion, mass flow rate, pressure and temperature time histories of cushion chamber. Of interest here is to investigate the cushioning effect of varying the piston and piston-rod diameter, cushion ring diameter and length, and stoke in cushion mechanism. As a result, this cushion mechanism is found to be adequate under high-speed driving of pneumatic cylinders. The simulation model proposed here will be very useful to analyze the dynamic characteristics and to improve or design the better cushion mechanism in high-speed pneumatic cushion cylinders.
