In this paper, E-TDLNN(Expanded-Tapped Delay Line Neural Network) method is suggested to make the model of power amplifier effectively. This method is the one for making the model of power amplifier through the study in neural network to the target value, the measured output spectrum of power amplifier, after adding the external value factor, gate bias, as an invariant input to the TDLNN method which suggested the memory effect of power amplifier effectively. To prove the validity of suggested method, the data at 2 points, 3.45 V and 3.50 V of gate bias range $3.4{\sim}3.6V$ with the 0.01 V step change, are studied and the predicted results at the gate bias 3.40 V, 3.48 V, 3.53 V and 3.60 V shows good coincidence with the measured values.

Powerline communication is the data signal which is modulated by carrier frequency through the installed powerline at in-home or office is transmitted and received signals are separated into data signal with using band-pass filter which cent-frequency is carrier frequency. The home gateway, an equipment which works as an gateway for ubiquitous home network, relays all functions of a home network. The home gateway must always be connected in order to provide seamless services. However it gives unfavorable power consumption. Therefore the needs for working in maximum power saving mode while there is no data traffic and for invoking to the normal function when it is necessary. So, in this paper we survey the development of low power PLC modem monitoring of power consumption and breaking abnormal power in the home Network.

Two Ka-band 3-stage power amplifiers were designed and fabricated using $0.18-{\mu}m$ CMOS technology. For low loss matching networks for the amplifiers, two substrate-shielded transmission line structures, having good modeling accuracy up to 40 GHz were used. The measured insertion loss of substrate-shielded microstrip-line (MSL) was 0.5 dB/mm at 27 GHz. A 3-stage CMOS amplifier using substrate-shielded MSL achieved a 14.7-dB small-signal gain and a 14.5-dBm output power at 27 GHz in a compact chip area of 0.83$mm^2$. The measured insertion loss of substrate-shielded coplanar waveguide (CPW) was 1.0 dB/mm at 27 GHz. A 3-stage amplifier using substrate-shielded CPW achieved a 12-dB small-signal gai and a 12.5-dBm output power at 26.5 GHz. This results shows a potential of CMOS technology for low cost short-range wireless communication components and system.

In this paper, a design of communication joint tools to implement a legacy-line communication (LLC) system, which exploits various conductive lines in a train, is presented. We develop two kinds of joint tools; one is a conductive joint tool (CJT) that is connected directly to the conventional lines and the other is the inductive joint tool (IJT) which connects the conventional lines indirectly using electromagnetic induction. As a result, the practical experiment of data communication confirms that an LLC system with the developed joint tools has a transmission rate more than 20 Mbps in the distance of 200 m away. In addition, an environmental durability test shows that the joint tools operate stably in an extreme environmenal variation. It is, therefore, considered that the developed joint tools are very useful to implement a communication network in the train working currently.
OPGW(Optical Ground Wire) whose demand is increasing worldwide have composite function as optical communication and grounding for preventing transmission line from lightning. While continuous efforts have been made to increase the transmission capacity and speed, the working method to replace the existing ground wire with OPGW under live-line condition is coming to force newly as installation aspects. Particularly, this requirement became more serious in developing country that the electric power supply is not sufficient and power outage is impossible for supply and dead of electric power LS cable Ltd. has developed the new installation method in full live-line condition to solve the confronted problem and to meet the market demand. In this paper, Electric Problems in live-line installation is considered to predict dry-band arcing. This can be used by Makers to predict dry-band arcing in insulating ropes installed on earth wire of power transmission system.

In this paper, we analyzed a medium voltage power line characteristics considering the skin effect for high speed data transmission. Medium power-line characteristics impedance was obtained by the S-parameter method which is used in high frequency band. Power line channel characteristics was measured using it designed coupler, it is a wide band coupler between medium powe-line and measurement system. Attenuation characteristics along the frequency was decreased linearly when skin effect was considered but attenuation characteristics along the frequency was decreased linearly when skin effect was not considered. Impedance was showed lower and lower in proportional to frequency, and variation was decreased in proportional to frequency.

An auxiliary real-time train communications system among drivers, train-traffic controllers and field workers is necessary to share hazard information (i.e. rockfall detection, track maintenance) in low visibility zones (long tunnels and steep curved track). To develop the appropriate communication system, this paper proposes a new way of power line communication using the rail track (Rail - PLC), which has little noise and distortion of attenuation. Therefore, it is important to measure the impedance of the rail and to apply an impedance matching technique to increase the transmission characteristic of the Rail - PLC. This study would evaluate the reflection and the transmission characteristics of the rail using a network analyzer and an impedance matching transformer. The suitable impedance matching ratio was 1:3.28 from the result of back-to-back testing. The results confirmed that the transformer can improve the performance of the transmission signal in Rail - PLC using an impedance matching technique.

Advances in communications and control technology, the strengthening of the Internet, and the growing recognition of the urgency to reduce the risk and production cost are motivating the development of improvements in the traditional manufacturing industry. In this paper, we developed a remote dust collector bag control system which is a combination of advanced IT and traditional dust collector based on the event. At first, we made the A/D(Analog/Digital) converter using a micro processor because the differential pressure transmission, which is a sensor of the dust collector, produces analog volt data. A/D converter can provide RS-232 communication to connect with Power Line Communication(PLC) modem. And, n-bytes message format was defined for the efficient dust collector bag information transmission from a dust collector to a user. Also, we designed the data types to model the dust collector and the dust collector bag, and they were logically modeled using XML and object-oriented modeling method. In addition to that, we implemented the system for showing the dust collector bag exchange time exactly to users at real-time using various visual user interfaces.

The highest priority of the cruise trip is the safety and comfort of its passengers. Though the cruise lines take every appropriate measure to ensure that their Passengers are safe and experience enjoyable vacations it is hard to fulfill all passenger's personnel requirement with limited number of crews. Generally, each passenger is issued an identification card which contains their digital photo and personal identification information on a magnetic strip that he or she must present when entering or leaving the ship. This technology allows the ship to know which Passengers and crew members are on board and which are not. However, this system has some limitations of functions and usage. To support each passenger as his or her personal liking, additional number of crews or some kind of new system is needed. In this paper, the crew support system based on sensor network using wireless and wired communication technologies was studied. To design the system, PLC(Power Line Communication) system and ZigBee based passenger location recognition, classification system has studied experimentally. By using this system, crews can serve passengers more closely and personally with less effort.

This paper proposes the construction of intelligent home network system using Power Line Communication(PLC) technique, which allows for UPnP bridge remote control and monitoring based on TCP/IP. Also, the communication for control module inside intelligent home network systems is designed with Simple Control Protocol (SCP) in which each device is connected to be controlled independently. When new UPnP device is additionally installed in intelligent home network systems, it is monitored through UPnP bridges based on its registered UPnP device information. The device control based on PLC and implementation of each UPnP device are effectively managed by using TCP/IP remote control and it's provided fundamental functions to monitor various device information in the home network.
