  • Distortion analysis of digital filters for the ECG signal processing is presented. Several band pass and band reject filters are designed for the analysis. Computer simulations are performed to compare the distortions of the Butterworth type filters and linear phase optimal fitters. The designed filters are applied to power line interference cancelling in ECG signals.

Electromagnetic interference caused by an electric-line current in a cable tray in nuclear power plants

  • This paper presents a mode-matching analysis of the electromagnetic coupling between open cable trays in an indoor structure when an electric-line current is generated as an electromagnetic source. We validated the mode-matching method by comparing the mode-matching results with those computed from a commercial electromagnetic simulator and then investigated the strength of the electric-field coupled in a victim cable tray while varying the distances between cable trays and architectural surfaces. The results of this study provide geometrical information on the placement of open cable trays to avoid electromagnetic interference problems.

  • 설비용 전원선 EMI 필터(Facility power-line EMI filter)는 컴퓨터 센터와 같이 전자기적인 노이즈에 민감한 장비를 가진 배전 설비로 유입되는 EMI를 차단하기 위해 사용된다. 따라서 전류용량이 크며 특정한 응용분야에서는 MIL-STD 220 기준으로 14kHz~10GHz의 광대역에서 최고 100dB 이상의 삽입 손실(Insertion loss)이 요구된다. 이러한 요구조건을 만족하기 위해서는 광대역의 주파수에서 커패시터, 인덕터 등의 특성 분석과 고차 LC 필터 (High order LC filter) 설계기술이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 광대역 설비용 전원선 EMI 필터의 설계에 대하여 기술하였다. 먼저, EMI 필터 설계를 위한 필터의 특징과 구조, 필터의 설계 과정, 필터 설계 방법 등에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 그리고 필터 구성의 기본 소자인 커패시터와 인덕터의 특성에 대해 분석하였다. 최종적으로 광대역 설비용 전원선 EMI 필터를 설계 및 제작하여 실험을 수행하였으며, 실험 결과의 비교 분석을 통해 연구 결과를 검증하였다.

  • 전력선 통신은 전기를 사용할 수 있는 어느 곳에서든지 데이터 전송 네트워크를 구축하기 위해 사용할 수 있다. 이러한 종류의 통신 시스템은 스마트 그리드와 홈 네트워크를 포함한 다양한 적용 분야에서 네트워크 구축을 위한 기반으로 제공된다. 반면에 전력선 통신은 다양한 종류의 간섭과 잡음에 취약하다. 또한 네트워크에 연결된 전기적 부하의 양과 종류에 따라 전력선 통신 채널의 특성이 지속적으로 변화한다. 특히 일상생활에서 스마트 기기의 폭발적인 증가에 의한 직류전원 공급장치의 사용이 증가함에 따라 전력선 통신 채널의 간섭 영향이 증가한다. 본 논문에서는 실험을 통하여 직류전원 공급장치의 동작에 따른 전력선 통신 채널의 영향과 데이터 전송 성능을 분석한다.

30 MHz 이하에서 무선 서비스와 유도성 시스템 간의 보호 거리 산출 (Protection Distance Calculation Between Inductive Systems and Radiocommunication Services Using Frequency Below 30 MHz)

  • 본 논문은 30 MHz 이하에서 동작하는 유도성 시스템과 전파통신 서비스의 공존을 위해서, 유도성 시스템의 간섭으로부터 전파통신 서비스를 보호하기 위한 보호 거리에 관한 것이다. 보호 거리 산출을 위해 유도성 시스템과 전파통신 서비스 간의 간섭 시나리오 모델을 제시하고 이를 기반으로 유도성 시스템의 방사 전력과 희생원의 허용 가능한 전계 강도를 비교하여 적용된 전파 모델에 따른 보호 거리를 산출하는 방법을 제안하였으며 이 방법을 적용한 RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification), PDP(Plasma Display Panel) TV의 간섭 분석을 통해, 30 MHz 이하의 전파통신 서비스 보호를 위한 보호 거리를 도출하였다. 제안한 방법은 2012년 6월 SG(Study Group) 1 회의에서 ISM 기기에 대한 결의 63과 관련된 ITU-R 권고서로 채택되어 유도성 시스템뿐만 아니라 무선전력 전송 및 전력선 통신 등에 의한 간섭 영향 분석에 활용될 전망이다.

  • Sun power generation systems which use large capacity centralized inverters have loss of power generation due to cloud and building shadows, pollution, cell deterioration, etc. To minimize loss of power generation, decentralized solar power systems using multiple micro-inverters are being proposed as an alternative. A distributed solar power system consisting of a system-connected system uses power line communication to collect data from the micro-inverters. Power line communication has the advantage of using power lines without separate lines for data transmission, but in distributed solar power generation systems that use a large number of micro-inverters, the bit error rate is less reliable due to the phenomenon caused by limited transmission power, high load interference and noise, variable signal attenuation, and impedance characteristics. So we proposed wireless intelligent controller for micro-inverter that is used to build distributed solar power systems. and we design and implement that. Further, the proposed wireless intelligent controller for micro-inverter was used to establish a small-volume solar power plant to check its function and operation.

  • This paper presents a systematic method of probing channel characteristics and communication reliabilities of home power line communication network applied to the Internet accessed control of home appliances. The effects of the three performance deteriorating factors, i.e., additive noise, channel attenuation, and intersymbol interference, can be systematically measured by applying the channel probing waveform in the frequency range from 100㎑ to 450㎑. Probability of bit error is derived with the probed channel parameters of the signal attenuation, noise and signal-to-interference ratio read in the frequency domain. The agreement between the derived probability of bit ewer and the measured probability of bit error support the validity of the proposed approach of probing home power line channel characteristics. The experimental results performed with the constructed test-bed applying the Proposed channel probing method and the operation reliability measurement of the overall networked system also support the feasibility of commercially deploying the PLC modem installed home appliances and their services for the Internet accessed home automation in densely populated residential apartment complexes.

General CATV is a way of multi-channel sending images, voices and music including stillness image as well as characters to public receivers through electrical cable communication system. In the beginning, master antennas were people can not receive TV signal well. TV programs were received from master antennas to TVs in each house. Ground connection began by experimenting lightning with the use of a kite and it means electric appliances, communication equipments, measuring instruments and so on connecting the Earth in order to flow away overcharged electricity. There are two kinds of earth connection: Power Ground and Signal Ground. Power Ground is for preventing an electric shock and in general there's no current in the connector. However in an accident, there's a quick flow of electricity out to the Earth. Signal Ground is not only for the safety of appliances but also for the safety of equipment operation. This paper is about connection for noise and interference reduce in order to prevent wrong operation and distortion of signal in the electrical appliances which can take place in CATV.

  • High Speed data transmission over a long length of cable is limited due to the limited bandwidth of a cable which introduces ISI(Inter Symbol Interference). In order to compensate for the loss and phase dispersion in the cable, a pulse shaping in a transmitter and a line equalizer in receiver can be used. This paper presents a low-power and small-ana analog adaptive pulse shaping circuit and line equalizer, The design was fabricated in a 0.25${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ mixed-signal CMOS process. The proposed pulse shaping circuit and equalizer operate at 400Mb/s on 50m STP(Shielded Twisted Pair) cable. It consumes 28.5${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ with a 2.5-V power supply and occupies only 0.098 $\textrm{mm}^2$.
