The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between parenting behaviors and parental insights by examining the effects of parental insights in addition to the main variables found to explain parenting behaviors through previous studies. In addition to the parental insight, this study examined the influence of past childhood experiences(perceived parenting behavior, family of origin' health) and parenting experience (marital satisfaction, parental role satisfaction) in current life. As a result of hierarchical regression analysis of 202 mothers of middle school students, all of the input variables were found to explain the parenting behavior significantly. In particular, parental insight was proved to have significant explanatory power on affection, rejection, regulation, and independence-oriented behavior among the sub-factors of parenting behavior except overprotective. Finally, the implications of this study and future research directions were discussed.

The purpose of this study was to identify the proper identification method of the gifted students in math and science. The subjects were 6,237 students from 3rd to 7th graders. The subjects took nation-wide tests which were made for identifying the gifted students. The tests were composed of creativity, thinking skill, and academic achievement in math and science. The results of this study were as follows; First, creativity and thinking skill were positively correlated with the academic achievements. Specially, the academic achievement of science was positively correlated with the all of the sub-factors of creativity and thinking skill variables. Second, the influential power of each variable differed depending on the identification methods. Also, group 1, which was considered all variables such as, creativity, thinking skill, and academic achievement, was the most proper way to identifying the top 1% students from the subjects. These results implies the variables of creativity, thinking skill, and academic achievement have to consider identifying the gifted students in math and science.

This study aims to propose a method of spatial therapy through spatial psychology in various ways of healing for emotional damage received by individuals. It is intended to prove the effectiveness and specify the method through instructional cases of spatial therapy for general university students. The method of spatial therapy was designed as a preliminary question(past)-space exploration (present)-travel plan(future). In the preliminary question, the students remembered the happy trip with their family and the pleasant memories with a person for the longest time. In the space exploration, the places the students visited were all different, but they were fully satisfied and happy about the place they had been to. The students fully remembered and expressed their feelings about the person they were with and the place. In their travel plans, students were fully prepared for the trip and looking forward to various therapy emotions they wanted to feel there. Most of the students said they wanted to find peace of mind through travel, feel peaceful feelings, and enjoy a beautiful world. Travel for spatial therapy or visiting certain places gives those who are tired and struggling enough therapy power.

The psychology of Carl G. Jung is often called an "ancilla religionis"(servant of religion, James Heisig), by which Jung's understanding of the unconsciousness of human being as the religious one is well expressed. According to Jung the dichotomy between the consciousness and the unconsciousness of men is reconciled in the various religious symbols of the world religions. He also asserted that the religious symbols must be understood and interpreted by a symbolical way. When the religious symbols are understood literally and dogmatically, they lost their dynamic power to bring salvation to men. In this paper I try to understand the essence of the symbolical and intuitional understanding of the exclusiveness of Jesus Christ. The confession of the Christianity that only Christ, once for all, could bring the salvation to the whole humankind is to be interpreted by a symbolical and intuitional way. That means, Christ is to be understood as a always new being at every time when he is confessed as a salvator. Christ as a symbol could never be a historical past. I mentioned about the understanding of Buddha by Muneyoshi Yanagi, a Japanese Shinto Buddhist, in order to show how such a symbolical and intuitional understanding of the Christ could be possible.

The initial situation in our tale shows that the earth-mother-feminine principle disappeared from the center of the collective consciousness into the collective unconscious. Therefore the heaven-father-masculine principle is dominant, which is represented by the king. And in the king's daughter, who is living without mother, the positive father complex is working. She stays in the heaven-spirit world playing with the golden ball, which can be seen as the state of inflation. She is disconnected from the earth-mother-feminine principle, which is important for a woman to find her genuine feminine identity. This demanded principle approaches her through the frog, a bewitched prince. Psychologically it means that a man is under the power of the negative mother complex. The disgusting, ugly frog is a symbol for the shadow, the earthly animal instincts of the princess. Only with his help she can find her golden ball again, which has fallen into the deep well. Their talk about the rewards to him for his help shows us very well the opposites. The frog wants the feminine value such as relation, earthly eros, but the princess offers the masculine value such as heavenly logos. After the frog brought her the lost ball, i.e. she regained her libido, she completely forgot her promise. Like this the content, which is becoming conscious, here the shadow, is easy to fall back into the unconscious and to be repressed. The frog cannot be with the princess without the help of the king, a father figure, a firm protector of the collective oder. At first unwillingly the princess obeys Logos of her father. But her authentic instinctual urge grows stronger and it causes that her ego is released from the power of her father complex. At just this moment the frog turns into a prince, i.e. he is liberated from the mother complex. The marriage of princess and frog-prince symbolize the unification of the opposites: heaven becomes earthly and earth becomes heavenly. Three iron bands, wrapped around the heart of Heinrich, a young king's servant, are snapped, while he brings the prince and princess back to his kingdom. The heart, the place of earth-mother-feminine consciousness, is now liberated. This principle, which disappeared into the unconscious, emerged into the collective consciousness and the wholeness is recovered. The Self is now leading the collective consciousness, which includes not only the principle of Logos but also Eros.

There are two approaches in the study of emotion in the physiological psychology. The first is to clarify the brain mechanism of emotion, and the second is to evaluate objectively emotions using physiological responses along with our feeling experience. The method presented here belongs to the second one. Our method is based on the "level-crossing point detection" method. which involves the analysis of frequency fluctuations of EEG and is characterized by estimation of emotionality using coefficients of slopes in the log-power spectra of frequency fluctuation in alpha waves on both the left and right frontal lobe. In this paper we introduce a new theory of estimation on an individual's emotional state by using our non-invasive and easy measurement apparatus.

A fundamental problem in analyzing complex multilevel-structured periodontal data is the violation of independency among the observations, which is an assumption in traditional statistical models (e.g., analysis of variance and ordinary least squares regression). In many cases, aggregation (i.e., mean or sum scores) has been employed to overcome this problem. However, the aggregation approach still exhibits certain limitations, such as a loss of power and detailed information, no cross-level relationship analysis, and the potential for creating an ecological fallacy. In order to handle multilevel-structured data appropriately, mixed effects models have been introduced and employed in dental research using periodontal data. The use of mixed effects models might account for the potential bias due to the violation of the independency assumption as well as provide accurate estimates.

Purpose: This study analyzed the perfume buying behavior of 561 men in their 20s and 30s. Research design, data and methodology: The demographic characteristics of the study subjects were analyzed frequently, the use of perfumes and chi-square tests were performed to identify differences in purchasing behavior, and the Likert 5-point scale was used to measure the importance of the reasons for choosing perfumes. Results: The most commonly used perfume product was Eau de Toilette, which had statistically significant differences with age and education (p<.05). Perfumes were most commonly purchased at health and beauty stores, with statistically significant differences by age, marital status, and education (p<.05). Conclusions: The study subjects have a high purchasing power for perfume products and are proficient in using smart devices, so they have a high level of information through beauty platforms, so they need to promote online products by introducing live commerce, etc.

The previous investigations of electroencephalogram (EEG) activity in the memory retrieval tasks demonstrated that event-related potentials (ERP) during recollection showed different durations and the peak levels from those without recollection. However, it has been unknown that recollection in memory retrieval also modulates high-frequency brain rhythms as well as establishes large-scale synchronization across different cortical areas. In this study, we examined the spectral components of the EEG signals, especially the gamma bands (20-80Hz), measured during the memory retrieval tasks. Specifically, we focused on two major spectral components: first, we evaluated the temporal patterns of the power spectral density before and after the onset of the memory retrieval task; second, we estimated phase synchrony between all possible pairs of EEG channels to evaluate large-scale synchronization. Fourteen healthy subjects performed the memory retrieval task in the virtual reality environment where they selected whether or not t he present item was seen in the previous training period. When the subjects viewed the unseen items, the middle gamma power (40-60Hz) appeared to increase 200-500ms after stimulus onset while the low gamma power (20Hz) was suppressed all the way through the post-stimulus period 150ms after onset. The degree of phase synchronization in this low gamma level, however, increased when the subjects fetched the item from memory. This suggests that phase synchrony analysis might reveal different aspects of the memory retrieval process than the gamma power, providing additional information to the inference on the brain dynamics during memory retrieval.

This study investigated which recumbent posture can give rise to the highest vagal modulation in patients with coronary artery disease(CAD), among three recumbent postures; namely, the supine, left lateral, and right lateral postures. For this purpose, 43 patients as CAD group and 31 patients as control group were studied. Heart rate variability(HRV) was measured on these patients for three recumbent postures in random order Normalized high-frequency power was the highest, whereas normalized low-frequency power was the lowest in the right lateral postures, among the three recumbent postures.
