The purpose of this study was (1) to construct 'easy-to-read' books and (2) to investigate the effect of 'easy-to-read' books on young children's independent reading, the subjects were twenty six three and four-year-old children who attended a Saemaul murery school in Irk, chullapuk-do. The subjects were randomly assigned to and of two storybook reading conditions: in the first condition. subjects were encouraged to read traditional storybooks and in the second condition, subjects were encouraged to read 'easy-to-read' books. The paired t-test and the Student's t-test were employed to analyze the data. The results showed that subjects in both groups attempted to read more frequently in the post-test than in the pre-test. Subject in the 'easy-to-read' condition attempted to read more frequently on the post test than subjects in the traditional book condition.

This paper describes a deformation-based strut-and-tie model for the flexural members at post-yield state. Boundary deformation conditions by flexural post-yield response are chosen in terms of the flexural bar strains as the main factor influenced on the shear strength. The main purpose of the proposed model is to predict the shear capacities of the flexural members associated with the given flexural deformation conditions. To verify the proposed strut-and-tie model, the estimated shear strengths depending on the flexural deformation are compared with the experimental results. The experimental data are in good agreement with the values obtained by the proposed model.

The purpose of this study was effect of pilates exercise program on obesity pre-obese adult sixteen (men 3, women 13). The pilates exercise program was provided to subject for 4weeks (3 time a week) Measurements of pre and post 2weeks, and post 4weeks experiment were BMI (Body Mass Index), WHR(Waist-hip Ratio). The result were as follows: 1. The BMI was decreased in pre - exercise 2weeks, pre - exercise 4weeks but there was no statistically. There was significant difference between pre - exercise-4weeks. 2. The WHR was no significant difference between pre - exercise-2 weeks and pre - exercise-2 weeks and 2-4 weeks everybody.

Paralytic ileus is one of the gastro-intestinal symptoms of a patient who is in the post-symptom period resulting from stroke. The purpose of this study was to examine the efficacy of Euphorbiae Kansui Radix(Gan-sui) for a patient who has suffered from severe paralytic ileus as post-symptoms caused by 3rd stroke. The subject was a 70-year-old woman who had been troubled with dyspepsia, abdominal flatus and other pains during the past 10 years, and whose symtoms worsened because of her recent 3rd stroke. At the time of admission, she complained of abdominal flatus, conspitation, quadri weakness(Lt>Rt) and dysathria. For the first 10 days after admission, she was treated with Oriental' Western Medicine, which failed to relieve any symptom. However, after taking Euphorbiae Kansui Radix(Gan-sui), gastro-intestinal vermicular movement improved, so the symptoms of abdominal flatus and conspitation disappeared. As a consequence, the accompanying paralytic ileus condition also improved.

This study examines the importance of learning language and cultural integration in general English class focused on TOEIC reading comprehension. The understanding of cultural learning and learners' cultural awareness has long been a subject of debate. This study was not only to analyze the improvement of students' interest and reading comprehension ability of TOEIC through cultural learning, but also to ensure students who learn American culture overcome cross-cultural miscommunication and improve their English reading comprehension skills. Pre-post surveys and the pre-post TOEIC tests were used to measure language proficiency and American cultural knowledge to two groups: the experimental and control group. The results from the study were as follows: First, students had better TOEIC scores with improved motivation after understanding American culture relevant to the lessons. Second, reading comprehension skills with regards to TOEIC also improved, compared with the students who were not exposed to American culture due to lack of opportunity.

This paper is to scrutinize Jean Rhys' Wide Sargasso Sea through a Marxist criticism. While critics were industriously excavating discourses of feminism, post-colonialism, and racism in the novel, they tended to regard the Marxist attribute as supplementary material and to diminish the significance not considering as an independent subject to be examined. However, the novel, in which all the major relationships are based on capital, exemplifies class conflict between the bourgeois and the proletariat. Marx and Engels believe that the foundation of our society is capital and that society evolves through class conflict to obtain more capital, and thus they assert people's relations are the product of the commodification of individuals. Furthering their study, Louis Althusser specifies the power system through the (repressive) state apparatus and the ideological state apparatus. With the theories of the thinkers' above, this paper analyzes the relationship between Annette and Mason, Antoinette and her nameless husband, allegedly Rochester, Rochester and Amelie, and Rochester and Daniel Cosway. This paper offers an alternative reading of a classical feminist and post-colonial text.

The purpose of this research is to analyze characteristics and related factors of IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) in newly built wooden houses by measuring pre and post occupancy. The subjects were five wooden houses which were built with similar materials and completed from July to December 2013. Measuring factors were TVOC, HCHO, PM10, $CO_2$, CO, indoor temperature, and relative humidity. As the result of pre occupancy measuring, the houses that revealed the lowest TVOC concentration or HCHO concentration were satisfied with "the standard for newly built apartment houses". Therefore, IAQ by the wooden structures is considered to be in good condition. However, in cases of partial value exceeded the standard, the reason is analyzed to be the materials of molding, wrapping doors, built-in closet, or kitchen furniture, etc. rather than structure materials. Most PM10 concentration level showed slightly below "the standard for occupied multi-use facilities". Remaining of construction dust was considered to be the reason. As the result of post occupancy measuring, every value except of one subject's TVOC concentration was lower than pre occupancy, explaining the importance of natural ventilation.

The adverse events which do not appear in the approval process tend to occur more frequently at the early stage of the use. Therefore new drugs, drugs with different active substances or routes of administration, or drugs with explicitly different efficacy added are particularly chosen for re-examination, and go through a study, which is conducted on 600 to 3,000 subjects over 4 to 6 years. Since the re-examination system was implemented in January 1995, 880 drug products have been designated as the subject of re-examination and among them 194 drugs have been completed their re-examination as of until March 2005. Post Marketing Surveillance to insure drug safety should be correlated with re-examination of new drug, re-evaluation of drug, and adverse event monitoring system. And the first labeling change should reflect all information collected for a defined period of time after the marketing authorization is granted. Furthermore centralized management through spontaneous reporting system of adverse event for whole period of time would be the most desirable type of system.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Sea Dong-Il's technique on voice quality in patients with vocal nodules and phonasthenia (vocal fatigue). Ten patients (4 nodules and 6 vocal fatigue) participated in the study. Each subject was assessed acoustically (Fo, Jitter, Shimmer, NNE) in the first and last session. Dr. Speech (version 3.4, Tiger-DRS) was used to compare acoustic parameters of pre-and post-treatment. Sea Dong-Il's technique consisted of breathing exercise, relaxation exercise, and phonation exercise. The results were as follows: First, Sea Dong- Il's technique tended to be effective on improving voice quality in patients with phonasthenia and vocal nodules. Second, the nature of improvements were as follows: there was a significant difference between pre-and post-treatment in shimmer (p < .01) and NNE (p < .001), while there was no significant difference between pre-and post-treatment in Fo and Jitter. Finally, given the fact that the number of subjects was only 10, the jitter might have shown a significant difference if more subjects participated in the experiment.

The pastiche is one of the most unique characteristics in the post-modern period. The pastiche fashion design is an intentional imitation expressed by deconstructivity of the design. It has become the major creation method of post-modern fashion by expressing the image from the variety and creativity. The concept of imitation in pastiche is the important fashion subject which lead the dynamics and creativities of fashion when It has freshness and spiritual energy. The values of creative area of pastiche are as fellows - firstly, it provides the delightness through the disharmony by being released from the restraint and stress of the restricted society. Secondly, the characteristics of restoration generated by development and reproduced from imitation has become an origin of creation. Thirdly, the boundary between subculture and high-class culture would be dismantled and the elements of these culture are mixed to become a unique image through its abundance and compromise vague public culture. Fourthly, the pastiche fashion dismantles the basic structure of clothes to endow avant-garde esthetic appreciation. Fifthly, the folklore fashion representing the culture of minority and neighboring countries would become a new destroying the historically fixed clue. sixthly, the reinterpretation of pastiche fashion discovers the new regulations and beauties from Imitation to provides tow Important elements of post-capitalism fashion, dynamics and creativity. Lastly the consistent adaptation of image of fashion design with strong technical and theoretical basis can establish new fashions of this era with its unique creativeness.
